Cisco Valet Connector refuses to be detected by windows

I have bought Three of these products and all three do the same thing. I plug it in, run the setup and the setup never finishes, I can leave it up for hours and it refuses to do ANYTHING. I have talked with Live Chat and have downloaded the drivers, tried to update them manually, tried to install them using the cisco connect setup software and it tells me it cannot install and that i need to call customer service. IVE DONE THAT ALREADY AND THEY TOLD ME TO BUY ANOTHER ONE. I will refuse to buy another cisco product if we cant figure this out.
Device manager wants to install it as a (Disk Drive) and NOTHING ELSE. I have manually installed the drivers for the product but it tells me the hardware doesnt respond. and if i try to update them manuall it says the drivers i am trying to install aren't for the product i am installing them for and it closes out. WHAT THE HECK IS THE PROBLEM WITH THIS THING!? Why does it continue to want to be a usb thumb drive when it's supposed to be a network adapter?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit
Drivers used: Ones with product, v3.0.10.0 from website
HELP ME OR I WILL NEVER ALLOW A CISCO OR LINKSYS PRODUCT AGAIN

I have seen the similar problem with Valet connector and resolved by formatting the storage device.
Try  this link and see if that works.

  • Cisco Valet Connector Issue

Hi, I bought cisco valet connector about 2 weeks ago and it connects to internet fine
but when I restart my desktop, I can not connect to wireless internet anymore
worse thing is that whole house's wireless goes down because of me
I had a discussion about this with AT.T people and they said because valet connector might changes the default gateway
of the router we are using
we are currently using cisco router I think it is old Wireless-G model.
but how can I fix this problem? more weird thing is that on the computer, it says it is connected to internet but I just
can't excess to browser. As I click browser, it says internet explorer can not open the page
that means there should be a problem with TCP/IP address thing
Should I disable the Wireless Zero Configuration? or should I manualy set my IP?
    please give me some advice
    thank you

I don't think that a wireless adapter can change the settings on the router.
It says connected to the wireless network then it should have some IP address. Check the IP address of that computer when you are not able to access the Internet.
You can also try to assign a static IP address to the computer and see if that makes any difference.

  • My cisco Valet Connector changed Ip's

Yesterday I was attempting to set up a virtual server for minecraft and had gone into the gateway for the internet i was using, While i was adding a TCP portforward in the internet crashed and came back on, I decided to delete the number and let it go but then the internet crashed again and i havent been able to reconnect since. I keep getting a error that the wireless connector 5 has a unidentified ip adress and when i do a /ipconfig command everything comes up blank. So i inquire if its possible to reset my computer, and the connectors ip address. I have tried reinstalling my adapter. The labtop still connects to the connection but my computer no longer can pick up that particular signal but i have been able to connect to other networks so im not sure whats wrong.

Let me know the model number of the router in which you were doing the port forwarding? You were doing the port forwarding wirelessly or by a wired connection? Which windows you are running on the computer? Once try to download the download the fresh drivers from the Linksys/Cisco website or download it from the following link: http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/support/valet/AM10 . Then install the drivers manually. Here are the steps:
    # Click on Start --> Run and in the run box type "devmgmt.msc" and click Ok...
    # Device manager window will appear and in that check for the Linksys adapter.. Right-click on the name of the Adapter that you want to install and click Update Driver Software…
    # A window will appear asking “How do you want to search for the driver software?".. Click “Browse my computer for driver software"..
    # Select the option “Search for driver software in this location “then click on Browse..
    # Select the driver that you Downloaded and click on next button...

  • Cisco Valet Connector Formatted

My AM10 no longer contains the setup.exe file. How do I go about setting it up?

    I see. Try this:
Unplug the connector from the computer and shut the computer down completely. Disconnect the computer's power adapter from the power outlet. Wait for 2 minutes. Connect the connector back to the computer's usb port (try the usb ports at the back - it's better). Connect the power adapter to your computer and reboot it. The computer should be rebooting with the connector connected to the usb port. Once the computer is fully up, run the Cisco Connect Setup again. Do not disconnect the connector. If the Setup would ask to connect the connector just click next because it is already connected. That might help.

  • Getting to know the Valet Connector (AM10)

Getting to know the Valet Connector (AM10)

    Hi all,
I am new to this forum and hope I can get some help. I would like to know if it is possible by using Java (maybe some 3rd party SDK) to get to know the behavior of the user on a particular resource. For a example; a user using a desktop machine with a MS Windows OS performed the following actions
    * printed a MS Word document,
    * started a browsing session
    * edited a document
    * created a new text file
That wouldn't be easy in any language. For example "create a new text" file means what if I save a Excel document as a csv file? I certainly consider a csv file to be a text file, but it wouldn't for example have a .txt extension.
Consider also where a email client disallows executables so to send a exe I rename it with a .txt extension. Not really a txt file at all.
And in terms of printing in Word that would require hooking into word and probably also the printing subsystem. Very hard to do.
So you would need to define what all of those requirements mean in terms of the OS before proceeding in any language.
As an example of creating a key logger via java it would probably be done best in another language. But in general
    1. Use C code to hook into the OS to trap key events (and exclude mouse events.)
    2. Write JNI code to accept callbacks from the C code.
    3. Write java code that writes (via 2) the characters to a file.
I would use this information to create usage patterns and habits of the particular user. Hence, understand the preferences together with the needs of the particular user by building and customizing a user model on these usage patterns. I have searched on the Internet for solutions however I was not that successful. Many solutions were given by either using the Win32 Hooks or some spying/proxy API.This is a lot easier if you base it on a single application. Thus if you built a text editor in java and then recorded all of the action in there it would be a lot easier. And something that you could do entirely in java.

  • Help! Erased the Valet Connector by mistake

I accidentally erased my Valet Connector AM10 instead of my intended connected flash drive. There is no more support for this as I cannot find an image to put back on the device to make it work

Hi revtup. The setup software is still available for download. All you need to find is the drivers for your AM10. You may try to request for it. Just fill out and submit the form from this link: http://developers.belkin.com/GPLDownload/GPLRequest.jsp

  • CallRex and Cisco Call Connector software

I'm quoting a UC560 solution for a client that needs call recording along with Call Connector.  I am interested in CallRex but it appears it is based on TAPI and therefore, unlikely to get it setup in the same environment as Call Connector. Am I correct in assuming I can't get both for the same phones?  Anyone have experience with this or any recommendations or workarounds?  I'm also looking at TIM Talk, but I may only need to do a few phones and CallRex appears attractive for recording only a few select phones based on their user cost.
    thanks,
    Steve

Hi Nathan, from my understanding CallRex registers the TAPI under the ephone, correct?  The Cisco Call Connector also does the same thing. In the past I've had issues trying to setup the UC system to dial out from a CRM along with having the Cisco Call Connector. In this experience I had an issue as the Call Connector server would register and hold onto the TAPI for that ephone and it broke the dial out function of the CRM.  So you are saying to setup a dual endpoint on the Cisco device, one being hard phone and one being a softphone, registering 1 TAPI to CallRex and the other TAPI to Call Connector?
If that's the case though, the softphone would need to be on at all times in order for it to register the TAPI, correct?  Am I understanding this or missing something?

  • Cisco Call Connector Server Confusion

Hi all, we have a customer who is interested in the Cisco Call Connector Server.
In terms of ordering do I need 1 X SW-UCC-SERVER and then however many client licenses SW-UCC-CLIENT-1? Or are the Client licenses SW-UCC-CME?
Also does anyone know if the Call Connector Client will work over terminal services?
Also can Cisco provide copies for demo purposes?
    Any info greatly appreciated.

  • Cisco Valet and Apple TV2 problem.

I just installed a new Cisco Valet router, and though my lap and desktops work fine, I'm unable to get past the "setting time and date" notification when trying to wirelessly connect my Appletv. I tried rebooting the module, but even after waiting considerable time, I simply end up with the screensaver. Any suggestions would be appreciated from this new member

What is the answer to that problem? I have a cisco router and have the same issue. Thanks

  • About to Replace Linksys WRT54Gs with new Cisco Valet Plus

Probably sounds like a dumb question, but I am ready to istall a new Cisco Valet plus router to replace my old Linksys WRT54GRS.  Do I need to record all of the old info such as SSID, Channel, Encryption, passphrase, and key code or will the "automatic" Cisco install system do this on it's own?  Just want to make sure I have everything I need done before I start installation on the router, base computer, and my remote access laptops.

Just follow the instructions on the manual. If there's a need to change or retain your previous settings, key it in while doing the configuration.

  • Cisco Valet - Starts to fail.

I bought the more expensive Cisco Valet about a year ago. Within a few months it started to fail in supporting my home wireless network.
Now that it has been a year and has taken a total POOP, Cisco will not "help" us because we are out of warranty.

Let me know the model number of the Valet Router? Let me know was the problem with the wireless connection? How did you install the Valet Router? How did you install the Router means – with the help of the Cisco Connect Software that came with Router or configured it manually… If you are facing the concern with the wireless then you should do the following settings…
If you configured the Router with the help of the Cisco Connect Software then open that up in which you have installed… There you will be able to see 4 small window screens…
You have to click on “Router setting” window…
Then click on “Advanced settings” button… That opens the Router Setup page then Go to Wireless Tab and make the following wireless channel-
For Channel Settings of 2.4 GHz you can make Channel Width to 20 MHz only and Channel to 6, 9, 11..
For Channel Settings of 5 GHz you can make Channel Width to 20 MHz only and Channel to 40 or 161...
    Then check the connectivity…
If you have configured the Router manually then open up the browser and on the address bar type “IP address of the Default Gateway” that will open up the Router setup page… From here you can do the same steps as above…

  • IPod Touch, not detected in Windows or iTunes...

First of all, hello to everyone...
i want to say that i read a lot EVERYWHERE about my issue and still i couldnt find a solution...
the problem is easy, i have a 3rd gen ipod touch, OS 4.2.1 now fully working... but, it's not detected in windows or itunes, as simple as that, and as u all have read in lots of other posts...
my ipod is now working because i took it to an apple store and they charged it in a MAC and they had no problem at all. the MAC detected the ipod, with all its content and my ipod's name...
but when i took it home -this has been hapenning since maybe... 5 MONTHS!-, i plug it in my PC and nothing happens...
ok, first of all, my spec... win vista home premium 64 bits, last version of itunes...
i tried ALL the solutions provided in APPLE official support page, and nothing happens... that means:
1- completely uninstall itunes and then reinstalling it... i ALSO FORMATED my entire hard drive twice!!!!
2- tried all USB ports and even an entirely different PC and nothing happened
3- bought 3 different IPOD to USB cables and nothing happened
4- tried setting ipod to restore, that way itunes SOMETIMES detected the ipod but i coulnt restore because of different error codes, so i had to take it several times to apple store to "unblock" it...
the only way it works -detection and charge- is with MAC computers or dock systems such as an iHome my gf has thats the way im charging it now, but otherwise it wont work...
i would really appreciate any help, since idont know what else to do!!
    thx in advance!!

HI I was having some other problems getting my itouch to restore because it was not being recognized in itunes and kept erroring out. Now it has finally restored after I updated all kinds of drivers and removed and reinstalled itunes and apple software a million times,(yes this is all after installing itunes 8.1 and paying for an itouch upgrade as well) Now itunes says it cannot do anything with the ipod because it is getting an invalid response from the device. So it won't put anything back on my itouch or even show that I have plugged it in. I emailed tech support, If I find anything out I'll let you know, will you do the same for me?
