HI Eric Moyers,
I have seen iN Some Cisco Datasheets, and i Came to know that these Accesspoints Operate in Both BAnds. But as per your documentation wap4410 N Operates in Singal Band such as 2.4 GHZ, but which i followed the datasheet, in that These Accesspoints operate in Both The Frequency Bands. Culd you please remove this Confusion.

  • Cisco 526 controller and AP541N

    Hello,
I have a cisco 526 controller. Since this device is EOL. Can I still use 526 controller with AP541N? What are the limitations and problem configuring with
    AP541N?
    Thanks.
    Dipendra

    Hi Dipendra,
The 541N is NOT supported via the 526 Controller
With the Cisco AP 541N, you can:
    • Easily set up, configure, and manage multiple wireless access points, without the need to invest in a wireless controller

  • AP 541N - Problems with Clustering Function

    Hi,
we have got 3 Cisco APs 541N with firmware version 9.2.2 and want to set up the cluster function for those APs.
    Here is the problem:
Before enabling the cluster you can ping all three APs located in the same local network with a delay of 1ms or below.
If the cluster is enabled the pings for one AP rise above 200 ms in a random way (see attached file).
Moreover users connected to that AP are more likely to lose the connection or experience delay.
Do the APs communicate through LAN or WLAN ?
Does anyone know what could be the cause of the problem?
    Thanks.
    Regards Richard

Hi NIC, the clusters communicate through the WLAN (a poe switch is not required for network connectivity). Looking at the ping, this seems pretty normal. Most of the time as 1 ms and a few spike up. You may even see 1 packet drop out of every 100-200. Which is also normal.
If you feel there is a problem, you may not be getting a weak enough signal to fall to the next device, therefore, sort of hitting a void zone where your signal is good enough to hold on to the original connection but not weak enough to resume on the closest vicinity AP.
You can try to test this theory by moving to close proximity of each AP, disconnect from the wireless and reconnect. Ultimately, I think you will see the same behavior.
If you feel it is firmware related, since the 9.2.0.2 was released April of this year, try the previous release and test this. However, I don't feel it is a firmware issue, since I've had these working fine in the previous months with up to 8 devices at customer premises.

  • Attach WAP4410N as WGB to Cisco 5760 WLC with LWAP 3702

I have 5760 WLC with 3702 wireless infrastructure. Can i connect a WAP4410N AP as WGB to be attached to my current wifi network so i can provide connectivity to some wired devices? Any tips on doing so? And any limitation can be imposed for using this WAP instead of any other AP that are supported by WLC5760? If the wired clients are passive, configuring passive-client on WLC will work normally?

Thanks Eric for the reply, however, this AP is not expected to be controlled by WLC as you mentioned since it is not lightweight and not supported by this WLC for compatibility. But in this scenario, i'm talking about operating it in WGB mode to be attached to the unified wireless infrastructure. In this scenario, it is just attached as a client that pass the traffic of its clients to the other side.
I have noticed the below statement in this guide page (539)
    http://hcsdemo.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3650/software/release/37e/consolidated_guide/b_37e_consolidated_3650_cg.pdf
When non-Cisco WGBs are used, the switch has no information about the IP address of the clients on the wired segment behind the WGB. Without this information, the switch drops the following types of messages:
    • ARP REQ from the distribution system for the WGB client.
    • ARP RPLY from the WGB client.
    • DHCP REQ from the WGB client.
    • DHCP RPLY for the WGB client.
Accordingly, if the switch will drop all this traffic, then no traffic will be passed from the WGB clients to the network ! what I’m missing here?!!!

Now I want to expand my wireless range with 5 WAP4410n in a building.
Can I connect Cisco WAP4410n with E1200 Router? If yes then what will be the WAP4410n AP Mode?
How can I Connect all 5 APs' with same SSID to expand my wireless range?
Moreover, I can access easily to Linksys E1200 on my machines easily within the range but I want to expand the range without the cable.

I am sorry that no one has responded before now. What is the router that you are trying to repeat?
What were the steps you went through to do this?
According to the Admin Guide for the WAP4410N it will only repeat the WRVS4400N and another WAP4410N.

  • Does anyone know of a phone tech service that can help me set up my Cisco WAP4410N pre-owned router?

I am not a tech personality and need a bit of hand holding in setting up my WAP4410N device. My old router Linksys 1500 seems to be having dropping signal issues and I purchased this WAP4410N online to replace it. I need to know if I made the right choice in the purchase and how to set it up.
    Tony

    Hello,
I'm a Cisco Engineer and I'm sorry, I don't have a phone number to give you but I actually replied to this post to clarify something:
The WAP4410N is not a router, it is just an Access Point, so if you are trying to replace a router, this is really not the right device. As you can see this unit has a single port on the back as opposed to 4 LAN ports and 1 Internet port.
If you are correct o the model number then my advice is for you to look for another device, an actual router so that you can replace your Linksys unit.
    I hope this was helpful

    Hi,
i have Linksys E4200 and I need repeater for it ...
Can anybody help me with this issue ?

    Thx for answer
I tested it and it works as Wireless Client - computer connected by ethernet wire is OK, everything works (DHCP etc)
but when i turn on " Allow wireless station to associate" in WAP4410N settings of "Wireless Client/Repeater" it doesn't work at all
I mean clients on wireless side and on wire side too ( DHCP doesnt work , there is no communication )

  • Cisco WAP4410N - not configurable as Wireless Client with WRT610N?

    Hi!
On several workstations I use multiple network to
1 - access Internet and share Printers
2 - communicate within the local area
The second WLAN I need for several NDAS devices.
Due to their own LPX-Protocol these NDAS devices don't work properly with MAC address cloning. In combination with several access points or clients from other manufacturers Wireless N transmission does not work.
So in WLAN 2 I use the Cisco Linksys WRT 610N Router with 2.4 Ghz WLAN.
I intended to use the Cisco WAP4410N in Client Mode to connect a workstation with this router and set up NDAS connection.
Other workstations will directly connect to the router via Cisco Linksys WUSB-600N.
The connection from WUSB-600N to WRT610N works perfectly.
    My problem is:
The WAP4410N does not connect to a wireless Network in Client Mode.
(It is not a problem of Channel configuration, Security or Signal strength - because if I connect my workstation via WUSB-600 this works instantly.)
If setup as an access Point it will start up sending competing to my router.
In Network Status it shows no received packages.
In Wireless Client/Repeater Mode there is no connection either.
    My question is:
Is the WAP4410N not designed to be used as a Wireless Client?
An if it was - how is it to be set up as one?
    Thanks

  • ASA5505 And Cisco WAP4410N

    Hello,
A couple of days ago, my old access point burned out. It was a proxim ap-700. Anyway, I bought a new ap and recieve it today. I have been having trouble getting it up and going. I was wondering if anybody might have any idea what I'm messing up on.
Now the 5505 has already been configured for dmz, ip 10.10.10.1/24, vlan id 13--- But when I try to input information into the ap and save it from it being connected to my laptop.. Then after that I unplug it and plug it into my 5505 in the same port as the other dead ap was in... It takes a long time to connect to it, then when I do.... I can't connect to the Internet or anything.
    ip: 10.10.10.245
    sub: 255.255.255.0
    gate: 10.10.10.1
    dns1: 8.8.8.8
    dns2 8.8.4.4

    Yes, I'm sure.
I followed these steps to get it going. But I'm faced with something stupid... I can connect to the ap and it says I have Internet, but when I try to go to google or anything, my browser tells me it can't connect.
I'm trying to figure out what happened.
