Cisco WAP4410N not leasing IP

Hi,
I have 4 access points which are working in a same network with different SSIDs. Recently I found an issue that most of the day I need to restart these access points to access internet on a Mobile or computers. Also the mobiles are coming from one ssid range to another one it is not connecting and 'obtaining IP address'  status is showing. Then I need to restart AP to get connection on that particular device. I had upgraded firmware version WAP4410N-Fw-2.0.7.4-K9 in all devices. Before that all were working fine. I want to check whether my wireless security settings are correct . Please find attached screen shot .If it is happening because of my device settings or firmware issue, then please advise me to sort out this issue .
Awaiting reply .

I've noticed an issue which may be relevant to (/ the same as) yours:
Basically for some reason the device keeps changing so that wireless clients cannot talk to each other (even within the same SSID) despite the web interface saying they can.. to fix this I go into the Wireless Security Settings.. toggle the option to isolate the clients, then turn it back so it doesn't, apply it and they can instantly talk to each other again.
It's definitely some sort of bug but I wondered if I maybe needed to factory reset after the new firmware as I have had problems before where the config hasn't been quite right after a firmware upgrade (a SG300-10 turned off a port despite the config saying it shouldn't)... saving the config off, factory resetting the device and then importing EXACTLY the same config fixed it.. I was going to give it a try if it carried on doing this but for now the workaround worked enough to not be terribly annoying.
Is your DHCP server connected via Wireless?

  • Cisco WAP4410N - not configurable as Wireless Client with WRT610N?

    Hi!
On several workstations I use multiple network to
1 - access Internet and share Printers
2 - communicate within the local area
The second WLAN I need for several NDAS devices.
Due to their own LPX-Protocol these NDAS devices don't work properly with MAC address cloning. In combination with several access points or clients from other manufacturers Wireless N transmission does not work.
So in WLAN 2 I use the Cisco Linksys WRT 610N Router with 2.4 Ghz WLAN.
I intended to use the Cisco WAP4410N in Client Mode to connect a workstation with this router and set up NDAS connection.
Other workstations will directly connect to the router via Cisco Linksys WUSB-600N.
The connection from WUSB-600N to WRT610N works perfectly.
    My problem is:
The WAP4410N does not connect to a wireless Network in Client Mode.
(It is not a problem of Channel configuration, Security or Signal strength - because if I connect my workstation via WUSB-600 this works instantly.)
If setup as an access Point it will start up sending competing to my router.
In Network Status it shows no received packages.
In Wireless Client/Repeater Mode there is no connection either.
    My question is:
Is the WAP4410N not designed to be used as a Wireless Client?
An if it was - how is it to be set up as one?
    Thanks

  • Cisco SPA502G not updated above 7.5.1a

    Good day, ladies and gentlemen!
Cisco SPA502G not updated above 7.5.1a.
Fact. release notes that in version 7.5.5 fixes a bug with the encoding names in the address book in Russian, and update your phone to a version greater than 7.5.1a does not work.
Phone Cisco SPA502G (SN CCQ16330DRA, HW 1.0.4, MAC 649EF3794AB0, SW 7.5.1a) SW port is connected with the correct cable to the Ethernet port on my laptop. Two-way exchange of traffic.
After you click Upgrade in the utility spa50x-30x-7-5-5.exe the process of downloading the file spa50x-30x-7-5-5.bin to the device before the device swears by icmp and changes to the original state, and the utility after 1 , 5 mintuy reports an error.
Dump, shot with wireshark on the clip.
P.S.: A write later, because Your only saw when looking for information on another matter. On the e-mail notification of replies to the topic has been received! :-(

    Good day, ladies and gentlemen!
I apologize for oftop. The solution lies in the firmware via the serial version 7.5.2b.
    You just need patience :-)

  • Linksys E1200 Connecting with Cisco WAP4410n Wirelssly

I have a Linksys E1200 Wifi Router which is connected on LAN Port 1 with Switch. I have enable DHCP through my Server with Internet Connection Sharing.
Now I want to expand my wireless range with 5 WAP4410n in a building.
Can I connect Cisco WAP4410n with E1200 Router? If yes then what will be the WAP4410n AP Mode?
How can I Connect all 5 APs' with same SSID to expand my wireless range?
Moreover, I can access easily to Linksys E1200 on my machines easily within the range but I want to expand the range without the cable.

You might post a direct link to this forum or particular thread if there is informaton on it available.

  • Does Cisco WAP4410N work as repeater for Linksys E4200 ?

Does Cisco WAP4410N work as repeater for Linksys E4200 ?
    Hi,
i have Linksys E4200 and I need repeater for it ...
Can anybody help me with this issue ?
    BR

    Thx for answer
I tested it and it works as Wireless Client - computer connected by ethernet wire is OK, everything works (DHCP etc)
but when i turn on " Allow wireless station to associate" in WAP4410N settings of "Wireless Client/Repeater" it doesn't work at all
I mean clients on wireless side and on wire side too ( DHCP doesnt work , there is no communication )

  • Does anyone know of a phone tech service that can help me set up my Cisco WAP4410N pre-owned router?

I am not a tech personality and need a bit of hand holding in setting up my WAP4410N device. My old router Linksys 1500 seems to be having dropping signal issues and I purchased this WAP4410N online to replace it. I need to know if I made the right choice in the purchase and how to set it up.
    Tony

    Hello,
I'm a Cisco Engineer and I'm sorry, I don't have a phone number to give you but I actually replied to this post to clarify something:
The WAP4410N is not a router, it is just an Access Point, so if you are trying to replace a router, this is really not the right device. As you can see this unit has a single port on the back as opposed to 4 LAN ports and 1 Internet port.
If you are correct o the model number then my advice is for you to look for another device, an actual router so that you can replace your Linksys unit.
    I hope this was helpful

  • CISCO Box not working with Infrared Remove Control Repeater

There was an Infrared Remote Control Repeater set-up in my newly purchased house.  It works for my LG DVD player, but does not work with my CISCO CHS435HDB box.  Are there any work around for this?  Should I change to a different box?

If you are using a repeater, make sure the piece that is relaying the IR signal is pointing directly the font of the Cisco box and nothing is plugged into the IR input port in the back of the box.

  • Cisco 9971 Not Registering on CUCM 8.6

    Hey,
Ive run into some trouble with a 9971 phone running on CUCM 8.6. The phone has been registered with the server before with its settings locked down so the access to the settings menu via the phone has been disabled. Around a few weeks later the CUCM server ran into some problems and had to be restored. Since then I am unable to get the phone to register back with the CUCM server. i get the rejected message in the phones tab. and the message Telephony service unavaliable on the phone itself.
I would factory reset the phone however as the settings were locked out from before i am unable to get into the menu and dont know another way to reset the phone, the method used with previous models (turn on hold # then press 1234...etc) does not work.
    Any help would be appricated.
    Regards,
    Fraser

    Hello Guys,
Anyone got to solve this problem? I have it on multiple 9951 phones, the factory reset process does not work as the phone apparently ignores that you are pressing the # button... As per the below link:

"When the light on the Mute button and handset light strip turns                 off and all other lights (Line button, Headset button, Speakerphone button and                 Select button) stay green, press                  123456789*0# in sequence.
When you press                      1, the lights on the line buttons turn red.                     The light on the Select button flashes when a button is pressed.
If you press the buttons out of sequence, the lights on the line                     button, headset button, speakerphone button, and Select button turn green. You                     need to start over and press                      123456789*0# in sequence again."
In my situation this never happen, the line buttons turn on green and after that they all turn off and the phones displays "Phone not registered"

Being not sure of myself I came here to seek your help. The image attached are from the 'Debug tftp events' in the router and 'status messages' from the phone. Please help me! Thank you.
*btw I do get IP addresses and TFTP address from the Router. When I do 'show ip dchp binding' I can see the IP address leased from the DCHP.
*under 'show flash' command there is nothing except the router image.

  • Cisco APs not updating after WLC-update

    Hello everyone,
I need to update my 5508 WLCs to a newer software, to support new AP-models.
Started with AIR-CT5500-K9-1-7-0-0-FUS.aes and AIR-CT5500-K9-7-0-240-0.aes, everything worked fine. Pre-Downloaded the newer Image to the APs, restarted the WLCs and everything was ok.
Now I tried to update to 7.6.100.0 as well as 7.4.121.0. Both Versions should support my APs, but it doesn't work at all.
    Any ideas are highly appreciated.
If you need further output, just let me know.

    Hi Scott,
I am not trying to pre-download it anymore, since this doesn't work at all.
If I just restart the controller, the APs are downloading the image telling me "everything is fine", are rebooted and that stated with the old image again.
This is what you can see in the attached log-file:

  • Cisco 877 - not working with apple devices

    Hello all,
I'm hoping someone can help me with a problem I have with my 877 adsl router.
    A bit of background:
I have set this up as my home router to the internet,  which is connected to a Linksys WRT54GL as a wireless access point.
My windows & Linux devices/laptops all work fine over this setup and connect without a problem
However, all my apple devices, phones and ipads don't fully work. I can get to google and a handful of pages,  but not the store or games or facebook etc. (my daughter thinks its the end of the world - without FB and instagram)
If I take out the Cisco and put a Thompson router in, it all works fine. so I'm assuming it something with the Cisco config.
Below is the config I'm using on the router
Any pointers would be most appreciated.

ooo, you left your username, password, and enable in in clear text in the config you pasted, as well as not having an outside ACL applied and the VTY ACL allowing ssh from anywhere.  Luckily the outside IP address isn't in the config or I'm sure someone would get ahold of your router....:)  You should apply an outside access list and a firewall (I prefer CBAC firewall config for ease of use, but there is Zone based) to fix this.  I assume ACL 110 was meant to be your outside ACL but it just isn't applied.
That being said Jody is likely right.  PPPoE requires you to shrink your packet size (MTU/MSS) to allow room for the encapsulation that gets added to the packet.  The command he supplied should fix this.
The 'ip mtu 1482' on the dialer interface may be too large as well.

  • Cisco 891 not getting IP address with DHCP with latest IOS

    Hi,
I have a few Cisco 891 routers that are configured as DHCP clients on the WAN interface.
For some reason when I boot the router with a late IOS, the router is not receiving an address.
It works just as expected with the older IOSes.
    Any ideas of what changed?
This is how the interface is configured:
    interface FastEthernet8
     ip address dhcp
     no ip redirects
     no ip unreachables
     no ip proxy-arp
     duplex auto
     speed auto
     no cdp enable
    This IOS does not work:
    c890-universalk9-mz.154-3.M2.bin
    While these do work:
    c890-universalk9-mz.150-1.M7.bin
    c890-universalk9-mz.151-2.T2.bin

Doing a "show ip interface brief" shows that FastEthernet8 is unassigned with the affected IOS.
With the older IOSes there is an IP address.
I had to downgrade two routers due to this issue, and did not have  plenty of time to troubleshoot.
Both of the routers are connected to DSL from the same ISP...
Anyone seen anything like this  before?

Add another one to the list.
I have a MacBookPro3,1 that connects to WIFI no problem. It used to connect to ethernet when I originally bought it, however I've been using WIFI exclusively for the past 2 years.
Recently I had a need to connect via ethernet and it wouldn't work at home (apple airport router). I next tried connecting via ethernet at a friends house using a linksys WRT54G, no dice either. I have the computer in the lab today (University Network) and I get the same error. 3 different locations, 3 different routers, all same problem. It used to connect to home and university networks ethernet right away.
    IP address assigned is 169.xxx.xxx.xxx - subnet - 255.255.0.0
no other info. It's showing up as connecting to the network, but unable to communicate with DHCP. It does work if I enter all of the information in manually.
At first I thought I had messed something up in networking preferences as I tend to play around with things alot. However I did a complete system format, and fresh install of OSX Lion and I still have the same problem, without any of my meddling around to confuse things.
    What gives?

  • Cisco 3502I Not getting ip address

I just deployed 2 brand new 3502I access points.  Ap's are connected to a PoE module on a 4507.  Ap's are powering up.  The 4507 is configured to hand out ip addresses to the ap's.  When I run 'sh cdp nei det', I can see the ap's but they do not have an ip address assignment.  Another weird thing is in the output of the command, each ap has two entries.  One entry shows gigabit0 and the other gigabit0.1.  I have never seen this before.  I dont know if this in some way is why the ap's are not getting an ip address.  I have 40 other 3502I from 2 yrs ago and no problem.  The IOS of the new ap's is 15.2.  Anyone have an idea to what may be happening?  TIA

I will use the cisco 3750 PoE for further testing.  It is close by my office and the cable run is under 200 ft.  I used this same switch and port to configure the other 40 3502i ap's.  Below is the output of the show power inline fa1/0/12:
    H02_3750_PoE#sh power inline fa1/0/12

Here is the output of show power inline from a different 4507:
    4507#sh power inline gi1/6
