Cisco Works Daemon Manager Service down after deleting Syslog files
Dears,
Cisco Works Daemon Manager Service is not comiing up after deleting the syslog.log files from NMSroot, al other services are comes up except this.
please help ...
Rgds
Aslam
Not sure what is happening, but I see several services that should be started by the daemon manager, that are already started!!
You best stop them, make sure the services are set to manual except daemon manager, tftp syslog and rcp who are automatic.
Then I suggest to reboot server. If the daemon manager still can start run the resetcasuser.exe in \CSCOpx\setup\support\ and try again.
Cheers,
Michel

Cisco Prime LMS 4.1, "License Server/Daemon Manager is down."
Hello,
We having problem with Cisco Prime LMS running version 4.1.
When open Home page shows the next message: "License Server/Daemon Manager is down. Please check license.log for more information." (see attached)
The daemon server is stopped already and i can't restart it, see below:
C:\>net start crmdmgtd
The Cisco Prime Daemon Manager service is starting.
The Cisco Prime Daemon Manager service could not be started.
The service did not report an error.
More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 3534.
ThanksIt looks like you're seeing CSCte49301. Follow the release note steps to solve this:
Symptom:
The EssentialsDM daemon hangs in a Waiting to initialize state (as seen in the output of the pdshow command). Additionally, one might see "Error connecting to JRM" in Resource Manager Essentials applications.
Conditions:
This occurs on Windows servers after the patch for KB968930 is installed, and only if the Windows Remote Management service was started prior to starting CiscoWorks Daemon Manager.
Workaround:
Shutdown CiscoWorks Daemon Manager with the following command from the server's command prompt:
net stop crmdmgtd
Delete the following two files:
NMSROOT\MDC\tomcat\webapps\rme\WEB-INF\lib\ctmregistry
NMSROOT\MDC\tomcat\webapps\rme\WEB-INF\lib\ctmregistry.backup
Restart CiscoWorks Daemon Manager with the following command:
net start crmdmgtd
If that does not work, then the Windows Remote Management service must be stopped, and disabled. Then, CiscoWorks Daemon Manager must be restarted. -

I've tried to stop all the ciscoworks related services and restart it, also tried restarting the server machine. Ciscoworks LMS Version 3.0, installed on windows 2000 SP4. The error message is:
E:>net start crmdmgtd

I've changed casuser password using resetCasuser.exe file, but there was no change.
Any clue?Hi ,
Please attach the syslog.log ( If it is huge in size then truncate and send me some of the Lateste logs..)

ReBoot the Server ... Once server is back online > change the startup type back to Automatic and Try to Restart the Daemon Manager .
Note : Please make sure the IIS Admin service is Disable

Can't start Daemon Manager service on CSM 3.1
Hello dear experts!
After i've installed CSM 3.1 on customer server i found that CSM Daemon Manager service can't start. Next error log appears in MS Event Viewer:
"Faulting application dmgtd.exe, version 1.0.0.1, faulting module dmgtd.exe, version 1.0.0.1, fault address 0x00011f96."
After these i tried to start this service manually, but i got next error:
"Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion"
I did software installation remotely using Microsoft Terminal connection to server.
I have exactly the same problem with Cisco LMS 2.6 which i've installed on another server. Daemon Manager can't start there too.
Could you give me advices what i need to do?I tried to reboot server and wait for Windows to load services much times, but it did not help my any way. I found error reason: Daemon Manager couldn't start because there was no swap space on my server. I checked syslog file and found the alert. After i tuned swap settings this service started. But there is one interesting fact during CSM and LMS installation: though swap space setting on my server was as "No paging file", but CSM (LMS) installer shows me that i have sufficient swap space. So always check log files (C:\Program Files\CSCOpx\log) if you can't start your CSM or LMS.

The CiscoWorks Daemon Manager Service is not starting on my server; I tried to start the service in the Services section of My Computer and through the CLI but it still won’t start. I rebooted the server several times with no luck. I don’t know what happened; everything was working fine last week and now this problem occurred. Any help would be appreciated!
Good morning,
Thanks for your suggestion, I'll give it a try!
Please let me give you a little more history on the problem I'm having, Tuesday I tried to open Ciscoworks and I received the following error on the browser after I tried to login.
Error 403: You don't have permission to access /cwhp/LiaisonServlet on this server.
After a reboot of the Ciscoworks server is when the Daemon Manager Service was unable to start at all. I did find a TID on fixing a Tomcat bug and ran it on Wednesday but the service still didn't start. After trying the suggestion this morning on resetting the Casuser password I went back and ran the TID from Wednesday again and this time the service started. Everything appears to be running normally but every time I try to login to the server I receive the error above with no errors being displayed in the syslog file. Hope this extra information helps and I appreciate your help!
Thanks,
Tim Walsh
PS - I am working on the server from a remote desktop connection so getting the log files to you might be tough to do. -

I am having trouble with License Server / Daemon Manager when running LMS 3.1..
I have looked through this forum and checked that the following services are set correctly to Manual

CiscoWorks RME NG database engine
CiscoWorks Tomcat Servlet engine
CiscoWorks Web Server
CWAWFEngine database engine
CWCS Cmf database engine
DFM dfmEpm database engine
DFM dfmInv database engine

I have triedshutting down the Daemon Manager and forcing the databases to close down (hoping that the transaction log might be the problem but so far no joy.. Was running okay for some months on Windows 2003 as a VM.
Packages installed are as follows...
Just about to give up and do a fresh install....any assistance would be appreciated.

Daemon Manager service does not start
Hello,
I have a problem with Ciscoworks LMS 3.1 ... Application was working fine but after a while it started to show errors due to some processes and services that weren't enabled. I looked over the processes and services windows and realized Daemon Manager wasn´t working. I tried to start it but just doesn't happen.
I did it through the services window and also through a windows command prompt but results weren't different.
I attached the screenshots about my issue. Hope they're helpful and will be looking forward your answer.
Thank you,Hi,
Actually, there is only one server working for all the modules of the application so it has been set up as standalone.
The server has the following features:
- Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition, SP1
- Intel(R) XEON(R) CPU
- E5405 @ 2.00 GHz
- 2.00 GHz, 1.97 GB of RAM
Domain has been set up within the server
Antivirus Microsoft Forefront Client Security installed
Is there any bug that fixes that problem about the domain being corrupted??? would it be better if we skip that domain's comfiguration when setting up the server's system (although it would be like server does not belong to the network)??, Antivirus has not to be installed??? Policies from the firewall would need to be all opened (from the server to any device that is to be managed by the application???
According to your comments that is what i am understanding, please let me know if i am wrong and therefore What would you recommend me to do???
Thanks, -
I went in and deleted Cached files after repeatedly getting the 'scratch disks are full' message. I have done this before and have had no issues. However, this time it comes up with a crash message whenever I open Premiere Pro 6. All other Adobe programs are working fine.
Does anyone know what could be wrong? Have I accidentally deleted something crucial? How can I fix this?If you have a 64bit Windows adding more ram will allow Windows to use that ram, and provide more to CS4
Otherwise... here are some links I've saved that discuss crashes... may, or may NOT, help in your case... but free to read

How to refresh and redirect into same page after deleting a file
Hi John,
One more help I need. I implemented the brows and download file functionality in my application successfully. And I am interested to implement delete also like download. If user will click on download three options will come open, save, cancel in case of download. But like download I want to put delete link which will delete the corresponding file.
I written the procedure in same fashion as download and compiled in my schema.
The code is here:
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE download_my_file_temp_delete (p_file IN NUMBER)
AS
BEGIN
DELETE FROM file_subjects_temp
WHERE ID = p_file;
END download_my_file_temp_delete;
And in
Home>Application Builder>Application ID>my_page > Report Attributes>Column Attributes
There I am entering
Link text : Delete
Target : URL
URL : #OWNER#.download_my_file_temp_delete?p_file=#Delete#
Where download_my_file_temp_delete is a procedure for deleting the file corresponding to ID .
Here id alias is DELETE so I am passing #DELETE#.
If I am click delete corresponding to any file its opening a blank page I seen URL is like
http://abcd.com:portno/pls/workspace/owner.download_my_file_temp_delete?p_file=4031625747435433
if I am clicking back and refreshing then getting file is deleted successfully.
That means procedure is working but I want that after clicking on delete link corresponding to any file same page should appear with refresh then my problem will solved.
Can u suggest me any approach.
Thanks && Regards,
Ravi[This is not John, hope that's ok!]
This kind of thing is best done by rendering checkboxes next to each file in your report region;using apex_item.checkbox(1,file_id) and providing a Delete button that would fire a after-submit process that does
for i in 1..htmldb_application.g_f01.count
loop
download_my_file_temp_delete(htmldb_application.g_f01(i));
end loop;[And of course a same-page branch on the page] -
In a single Environment handle process, is it any reason that makes BDB still working after run db_recover (will delete the region files)? The process opened before running db_recover. I found a database still working without region files. I feel confused.
thank you
zhangjianprocess not triggering the recovery will eventually be signaled that it should exit the library. This is done when ever a process executes a API in the library. It is up to the application to properly handle this situation. Any process connected to the 'deleted' region files needs to exit the library and reconnect to the new region files. To the extent that the process continues, it will continue what it is doing until it executes a new API. BDB is not client server so there is no inter process communication that is available.
thanks

System crash after deleting ".DS_Store" files?
My Finder view options were a bit messed up, so I decided to follow some online advice and delete all ".DS_Store" files on my MBP. I followed instructions on osxdaily.com. Specifically, I typed the following command into Terminal:
sudo find / -name ".DS_Store" -depth -exec rm {} \;
After the command finished running I tried to restart the computer but it would just show the grey screen with the Apple logo and the progress indicator and not start up properly. I was able to run Disk Utility and verified the HDD. No errors were displayed. I chose "repair disk" anyway, but the computer still would not start up. Entering safe boot mode didn't work either. In the end, I chose to reinstall OSX 10.8 from the Internet. I didn't want to reinstall a backup from Time Machine because there were some files I hadn't backed up yet.
Fortunately my MBP seems to be working properly again, but what's weird is that I had to reinstall every single application. The application files were still present in the application folder but their icons were greyed out and they wouldn't launch.
Does anybody have any idea why this happened? Is it that dangerous to delete ".DS_Store" files? Should I use a different command? I would still like to get rid of those files so I can redefine a default view for all folders.
And is it normal that if I reinstall OSX I need to reinstall all applications as well?Letting something arbitrarily delete every .DS_Store file on your computer invites bad things to happen.
Running rm is dangerous as is--letting it run rough-shod all over your computer is infinitely dangerous.
I don't know why there is a .DS_Store file inside an app package, but removing it "damages" the App just as if some malicious code might write malware into the package. So, it is no mystery why they do not work anymore.
Deleting specific .DS_Store files in folders is not normally a problem.
If you have a problem in one folder that doesn't hold its settings, deleting the .DS_Store file is ok.
Here's how I would do it, though:
Open the folder and Cmd-F.
If you don't already, use the Other... option in the Criteria popup to add the System Files and Visibility options to the criteria menu (check the box to include in men).
Set the Search criteria to System Files are included and Visibility is invisible.
Type ".DS_Store" in the search field. You should see the .DS_Store file for that folder at the top of the list, and then all the others in the subfolders.
You can delete it from there. -
How do I reinstall os x moutain lion after deleting necessary files?
When trying to get my Canoscan 9550F to work with OS X 10.8.x, I was able to add it to the system settings under printer, but still it didn't work. I decided to make sure the Canon driver and Apple driver weren't fighting, so I deleted some files. Now, even though I can see the scanner in the "about this Mac," I cannot add it anymore to the printer area. I should have dragged those files to the trash, where I could have restored or put back the files, instead of to the desktop.
My question, How do I reinstall OS 10.8.x when I installed it from the App Store to upgrade? I don't see it as files on my Mac to reinstall.
ThanksReboot to the Recovery partition and reinstall from there. Reboot, at the sound of the chime press cmd-r and hold it until the Recovery disk starts up.

Subversion -- Problem After Deleting a File from Repository
I am using Dreamweaver CS6 and am using Subversion as a Repository server.
In doing a massive check-in, Subversion reported an error with one file:
SVN: #160024, Commit failed (details to follow):
File or directory ‘aff.php’ is out of date; try updating
Resource out of date; try updating
I tried reverting that file and then tried the update, all to no avail. In the end, I deleted that file, figuring that I could then simply add it.
When I tried to add it, I got the following error:
SVN: #155011, Commit failed (details to follow):
File ‘aff.php’ is out of date
File not found: transaction ‘150-4w’, path ‘/whmcs/aff.php’
The reference to '150-4w' was to the "successful' transaction in which I deleted the file, 'aff.php'.
Can anyone please help me to check this file in?Hi UndeniablyRexer,
I've learned that deleted files stay on Adobe's server for 30 days. Section 3.3 of General-terms governs access rights to your content. It reads:
3.3 Our Access. We will not access, view, or listen to any of your content, except as reasonably necessary to perform the Services. Actions reasonably necessary to perform the Services may include (but are not limited to) (a) responding to support requests; (b) detecting, preventing, or otherwise addressing fraud, security, unlawful, or technical issues; and (c) enforcing these terms.
