Cisco XCP Message Archiver Alerts

Hello,
I've set up the Cisco XCP Message Archiver to archive Jabber conversations to an external database. I've also configured the XcpMessArchDBConnectError alert to send an email from the Real Time Monitoring Tool when the connection to the database goes down.
The first time the database goes down, RTMT send an alert, but any subsequent outages to not cause the alert to re-activate. Even with the database down, the CUPS web interface showing the connection as unavailable, you do not see the alert trigger in RTMT. Does anyone know why this may be?
The system version is: 9.1.1.41900-1.
Thanks.

If you restart the Cisco Presence Engine service you get the following message in RTMT:
%UC_PE-2-PEIDSSubscribeError: %[PEIDSSubscribeErrorAlarmMessage=UCCN subscribe failure on table UCProxyProfile][AppID=Cisco Presence Engine][ClusterID=StandAloneClustere6bc8][NodeID=<hostname>]: The Cisco Presence Engine service was unable to subscribe for IM and Presence Service database change notifications AppID : Cisco Syslog Agent ClusterID :  NodeID : <hostname>  TimeStamp : Tue Dec 09 12:41:30 GMT 2014
Does anyone know what could be causing this?

  • Connection Message Archiver problems

    Hoping someone can help.
I'm attempting to capture voicemail messages from multiple users. I need to preserve message headers and voicemail messages.
I've downloaded and installed the Unity Connection Message Archiver program from http://www.ciscounitytools.com/Applications/CxN/MessageArchiver/MessageArchiver.html
I followed all the step for configuration.
I can login and search for and select a mailbox or messages for archiving.
However, when I click the "Archive", I see the processing message, but then it reports an error.
Here is the error from the log file: "Failed establishing IMAP connection in the ConnectionMessageBackupFunctions constructor:Failed to attach to Connection server on port 7993 for IMAP login in AttachViaImap"
I've attached the full log file.
I've verified that the IMAP service is running. I've also followed all troubshooting steps found here: http://www.ciscounitytools.com/Applications/CxN/MessageArchiver/Help/MessageArchiver.htm
Can anyone point me in the right direction.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Capturing custom error message from alert category

We are using XSLT mapping and We are raising custom error message based upon some conditions i.e if vendor number is invalid or blank. If it doesn't meet the requirement, mapping will fail and it will throw error message as" IDoc XXXXXXXXX is having invalid vendor number".
My question is,we would like to send this custom error message to email receipients through RWB-AFW.
How do we capture this custom error message is alert category or alert rule?

You can not unless u use BPM.

  • Message archiving/deletion in PI 7.1

    Hi All,
I'm new to SAP PI. We have newly implemented PI 7.1 in our landscape. We have installed PI in HP UX 23 with oracle as the database.
We have configured the messge archival/deletion in our PI production server. We have allocated a dedicated file system to store the archived messages. Eventhough we have maintained the path of the archival_interface, no messages are archived in this drectory.
We are using synchronous interfaces and while executing the report ( RSXMB_SHOW_REORG_STATUS  ) as per the note 872388, the report says that there are more than 1700 messages to be archived. But no messages are getting archived in the path mention as of now.
I think we have missed out some steps while configuring the archiving process. Can somebody help me with the steps involved in PI integration engine message archival/deletion.
Your timely help will be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Varadhu

    Hi,
Go to transaction "SXMB_ADM" on the ABAP stack of your XI installation. Go to "Integration Engine Configuration" and click on tab "Specific configuration". Check if you have the parameter "LOGGING_SYNC" enabled (It should have a value 1). In case it is not present, please create this entry and have the default value as "1". This will enable you to view all sync messages on sxmb_moni.
    Thanks,

  • Message Archiving for the Adapter Engine

    Hi,
we have configured archiving for Integration Engine (SXMB_MONI) messages on the Production XI System. is it necessary to configure Message Archiving for the Adapter Engine also ? in which scenarios archived adapter messages are useful ? are there any other advantages/disadvantages for this(in case of errored messages on the adapter engine) ? Please share any ideas.
    Thanks
    Pavan.

    >>is it necessary to configure Message Archiving for the Adapter Engine also
Not necessary, but depends upon the scenario, lets say you are posting messages to external partner's FTP and there was some issue in connectivity due to which file was not delivered,in this case you need to send the message again.
same thing can happen in inbound messages too.
    >>in which scenarios archived adapter messages are useful ?
i would do this specifically for JDBC sender coz once you pick up the files based upon SQL query, you change the flag so that those values are not picked next time,in this case you can't re-run the old query and get same results.
this also holds for proxies and file too.
    Thanx

  • Message archiving in adapter engine

    Hello Gurus,
We have successfully configured message archiving in the integration engine via all the sap documentation and sdn blogs.
For the archiving in adapter engine, we have followed the documentation as well however our messages are simply not being archived in the adapter engine.
The steps for AE we took are as follows:
    1.  goto DataArchivingService/DAS and created an archive store, home path synch and assigned it to an archive path (the ILM browser connects fine as well)
    2.  created the archiving background job in RWB (both default and a custom one with rules)
The jobs seem to be running fine on our schedule but no messages are being processed.  I am assuming the retention period in AE is the one we have set up in SXMB_ADM for IE.
Is there anything we may have missed?

  • PI message archiving

    Hello
I have recently been made responsible for a PI 7.1 system, and am new to SAP and PI. I have some general questions about message archiving and would be grateful for some advice.
I understand that message details are saved to SXMSPMAST and associated tables. There is a limit to the number of rows in the tables.
    Q. What happens when the tables are full?
    Q. Is it possible to increase the number of rows that they can hold?
I believe that none of our existing interfaces have been configured for archiving/retention.
    Q. Should the interfaces have been configured for archiving before first use?
    Q. Does this only apply to asynchronous interfaces?
The vast majority of messages in SXMXPMAST have ITFACTION set to 'INIT'. I understand that these messages will not be deleted or archived.
    Q. Is it possible to change the ITFACTION and is this something I should be doing?
    Q. There are some synchronous messages with a status of system error on our system. I am not able to cancel these messages in SXMB_MONI. I do not want to keep a record of these messages as they were sent before the system was 'live'. Is there anything I can do to delete them?
I have found several documents on the SAP forums and blogs, but none deal with the case where existing interfaces haven't been configured for archiving.
    Kind regards
    Steve

    Dear Steve,
a lot of questions Let me answer them one by one...
I understand that message details are saved to SXMSPMAST and associated tables. There is a limit to the number of rows in the tables.
    Q. What happens when the tables are full?
    A. Nothing. The number which you refer to as 'limit of rows' reflects the number of expected entries. This value is used to control reorganizational tasks in PI.
    Q. Is it possible to increase the number of rows that they can hold?
    A. Yes, but SAP does not recommend this in general. Also there is no need to increase this number as it used as a threshold for reorganization only.
I believe that none of our existing interfaces have been configured for archiving/retention.
    Q. Should the interfaces have been configured for archiving before first use?
    A. Yes, definitely. The interface action nis determined right when the message enters the Integration Server. Therefore it is important to configure archiving beforehand. However, as of PI7.10 SP6 report RSXMB_DEL_TO_ARCH is available to change the interface action from 'deletion' to 'archiving' belatedly (this direction only!).
    Q. Does this only apply to asynchronous interfaces?
    A. Yes, synchronous messages will not be archived.

  • SMON ABOUT TO RECOVER UNDO SEGMENT s messages in alert log

    Problem
    ======
There are lots of messages appearing in alert log of the following form:
SMON: about to recover undo segment %s
SMON: mark undo segment %s as available
    Reason
    ======
When the recovery is going on after a abnormal shutdown. Cause These errors do not indicate rollback segment corruption. In oracle8i, this may becoz of problem with the "rollback_segments" parameter in the init.ora. where as in oracle9i, When the instance is shutdown, during the next startup instance recovery needs to take place.
In AUM we do not have any control over which undo segments will brought online after the instance startup. When SMON finds such offline undo segments with transactions needing recovery ,then it does what is intended to do recovery.
    Solution
    ======
with oracle8i, we need to cross check rollback_segments" parameter in the init.ora
    with oracle9i,
first note down segment from SMON: mark undo segment %s as available
    sqlplus "/ as sysdba"
    alter session set "_smu_debug_mode"=4;
    alter rollback segment <offline segment name> online;
    e.g. alter rollback segment "_SYSSMU11$" online;
Where 11 is the number that is appearing in the messages in the alert log.

What's the point duplicate metalink doc here,
SMON: ABOUT TO RECOVER UNDO SEGMENT %s messages in alert log
    Doc ID: Note:266159.1
besides it's violation of Oracle support service contract.

  • Add "Payload" to Message Monitoring Alerts

I am following the How to Guide on Monitor XI 3.0.
I have set up an Alert with varibales as per section 4.2 - Message Based Alerting.  All working well and emailing notifications of failiures.
I have searched Help.sap.com, http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/43/1b9259fb002be8e10000000a11466f/frameset.htm and found I can add specific fields from the payload, but I want to attach the whole message...
Is it possible to add the "message Payload to the notification" as well??  If so,where can find more info on this??

    Hi Barry,
If you want your Alerts to be genearted automatically in the background, then I guess only the container variables available on SAP help can be used.
But if you are looking to use alerts in BPM, then I think this weblog by michal might help you,

  • XI Message Archiving Problem

    Hi,
I was trying to schedule XML Message Archiving Job in XI 3.0 SP16.
As per schedule procedure, I have defined interfaces for archiving and retention period for the same. Also I have configured the archive object BC_XMB in SARA and activated archive infrastructure SAP_BC_XMB in SARI.
I have scheduled the job SXMB_ADMIN, and the job ran without any error. When I checked the job log of ARV_BC_XMB_WRI<timestamp>, it says "0 XML Messages Archived" and I am unable to see the archive file in the target location.
I have also run the report as per note 872388, i.e. RSXMB_SHOW_REORG_STATUS and it shows "Msgs not in retention period (can be archived):        2,030".
Can anybody help me, how can I solve this problem, so that I can archive the XML Messages.
    Thanks in advance.

  • How can we attach input payload of failed message in Alert mail

    Hi Experts,
Please suggest If by using alert framework (No BPM) can we attach payload of failed message in alert mail.
    If yes, Another query...
    Scenario: IDoc to File
Requirement: If message fails in PI, need to trigger an alert mail having IDoc number(DOCNUM) in it.
    Regards,
    Raghav

    Hi,
Thanks for your update Vankata, Please let me know in case message successfully passed receiver determination step and after that if it fails in any other step then how can we proceed for mail including Input payload field values.
Thanks for you suggestions sunil but I need to send mail only when any error happend in PI scenario. While using UDF or RFC lookup concept, I can only send mails independent of PI message failure. I mean to say what if message failed before mapping execution.
One query, Is it possible to handle this kind of scenario requirement where the input field value need to populate in mails ( not using BPM) via Custom modules?
Waiting for more suggestions on this.

  • Dynamic xml messages in alerts

    Hi,
I have a ccBPM where I throw an alert on an application exception.
I want to include the entire xml message in the alert and email it to assigned users. I tried doing a document-to-string conversion of the xml message and putting the string in alert message as &messagestring& but the value gets stripped after first 80 characters or so.
Does anyone have experience in having dynamic xml messages in alerts? Is there any other way of doing it?Any insights are appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Suresh.

The way we did is, before raising the alert we sent the whole message in an email (mail adapter) to the group email id.
Sudhir /Michal can answer this best.
