Ciscoview 2960S stack SFP interface representation incorrect

Hello,
i am experiencing the following problem.
In the Ciscoview, the uplink SFP interfaces of 2960S stack are represented incorrectly. The two uplink interface should be Ten1/0/1 and Ten4/0/1 but proved to be Ten1/0/1 and Gi4/0/25. There is no 1G SFP module, so that the interface gi4/0/25 doesn't exist.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated
Information:
LMS 4.1
2960 device packet: version 14.0
2960 IOS: 12.2(55)SE4

Thanks for your reply
The Gi4/0/25 interface appear in detailed device report, but this interface is not operational. We didnt insert any 1G SFP.

  • 2960 Stack Port Channel Question

    I have a 2960 stack with 2 WS-C2960S-48FPD-L distribution switches running c2960s-universalk9-mz.150-2.SE2.bin.
I then have three stand alone 2960S-48 access switches running the same code.
I will have two ten Gig uplinks in a port-channel back to a 6500. I have this config. however
I  would like to have port-channel between each of the distribution  switches in the stack and each of the stand alone access switches.
    So as an example:
distribution switches: port 1/0/48 and 2/0/48 in port channel 1
    access switches: 1/0/51 and 1/0/52 in channel-group 1 active
Am I right in thinking that because these port channels come off of two different switches in a 2960 stack that they need to be LACP and the ports on the access switches need to be in "channel-group X active". And does it need to be in active mode on both sides?
    Thank You in advance

Yes, both sides must have identical channel mode.

  • ErrDisable at SFP Interface between C3750 with C3560

    Hello,
Requirement: connecting 2 lan switches with SFP cable.
The LAN Switches to be connected are: C3560-24TS+2SFP with C3750-24TS+2SFP
    Cable SFP: CAB-SFP-50CM-cable
when the installation is done, the error show up in the SFP interface, as below:
Port      Name               Status       Vlan       Duplex  Speed Type
    Gi1/0/1                      err-disabled 1            auto   auto unknown
    Test_Switch#sh interfaces status err-disabled
suspected err is from the cable, which is not working for both lan switch.
    Port      Name               Status       Reason
    Gi1/0/1                      err-disabled gbic-invalid
Question: what type of cabling is suitable/compatible to be used for connecting 2 different types of lan switches?
Run the errdisable recovery but not help much.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Hira

    Hi
As I understand it, you can only use that cable with 3560s:
    http://www9.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps700/products_tech_note09186a00800a7af7.shtml#patch-cable
Quote 'The Catalyst 3560 switch supports the SFP module patch cable, a 1/2 meter, copper, passive cable with SFP module connectors at each end. The patch cable can connect two Catalyst 3560 switches in a cascaded configuration. '

  • SFP Interface MEDRUCK Code Initialization ITEM or ITEMLINE

    Hi,
In a version of SFP MEDRUCK  I'm trying to process the table ITEM or ITEMLINE in the CODE INITIALIZATION.  I need to get to a value in MARA-BISMT. In our system MARA-BISMT contains a vendor catalog # which needs to be included on our PO. So, I need to process ITEM or ITEMLINE then using MATNR go to MARA-BISMT and get the value and pass it to my form.
    1) How do I process or read through all the lines in ITEM or ITEMLINE, his will get me to MATNR?
    2) How do I pass corresponding MARA-BISMT values to my form?
    Thank you,
    Helen

I determined how to do it.
    IN SFP Interface did following:
In GLOBAL DATA added I_ITEM2 TYPE ZTY_MMPUR_PRINT_EKPO
In CODE INITIALIZATON added OUTPUT PARAMETERS I_ITEM2 and added following code.
i_item LIKE standard table of ITEM,
    wa_item LIKE LINE OF ITEM.
    LOOP at ITEM INTO wa_item.
            SELECT BISMT
               FROM MARA
               INTO ws_bismt
               WHERE MATNR = wa_item-matnr.
            ENDSELECT.
            MOVE ws_bismt to wa_item-emnfr.
            APPEND wa_item to i_item2.
    ENDLOOP.
Then SFP PDF FORM definition added I_ITEM2 to my form.
    Thank you.

  • ASA etherchannels with RJ45/SFP interfaces

    Hello.
I have an ASA 5550 running asa913-k8.bin. I'm trying to configure 2 of the ASA interfaces in an etherchannel to connect to a VSS switch.
This works fine when I'm using the first 4 RJ45 interfaces on the ASA (Gi0/0 to Gi0/3). When I try and add any of the RJ45/SFP interfaces (Gi1/0 to Gi1/3)to an etherchannel, the "channel-group" command is unavailable.
Is it possible to add one of the SFP module interfaces on a 5550 into an etherchannel - i;ve tried specifying the correct media-type but the channel-group command still isn't available.
    Thanks
    Andy
    EDIT: found the following post:
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11269626/cisco-asa-5550-4ge-etherchannel
this states that the interfaces on the 4GE SSM ASA module (interfaces Gi1/0 to Gi1/3) doesn't support etherchannel

    Hi,
You would not be able to use any interface on Slot 1 for etherchannel as documented in the configuration guide:-
Note You cannot use interfaces on the 4GE SSM, including the integrated 4GE SSM in slot 1 on the ASA 5550, as part of an EtherChannel.

  • 2960x & 2960s stacking?

Hey guys recently I tried to introduce a 2960x switch into a 2960s stack.
I prepped the bpth switches and made sure the prefer sdm was set to default as well as setting the stack port speed on the 2960s stack to 10 so its would be compatible.
Once i stacked the switches i got a version mismatch error and an auto upgrade message, after waiting roughly 40 minutes with no succcessful upgrade i removed the X switch from the stack
below are the IOS running on both switches

      Hi,
some info about stacking different switch 2960S with 2960X.
    More info is available at:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/catalyst-2960-x-series-switches/white_paper_c11-728327.html
    Hope this can help you.
    Mixed Stacks: FlexStack and FlexStack-Plus
The 2960-S and 2960-X support a mixed stack of 2960 models. All  these 2960 models run the FlexStack protocol, allowing them to be  stacked together into a single stack. The exception is the 2960-XR does  not stack with either the 2960-X or the 2960-S. The 2960-XR has the  IP-Lite feature set, and this is not compatible with the LAN Base  feature set on the 2960-X and 2960-XR. Table 2 shows all the allowed  mixed stack combinations. What is crucial is the Cisco IOS Software  feature set. All 2960 models with the LAN Base Cisco IOS Software  feature set can stack together.
Table 2. Allowed Mixed Stack Combinations
    Mixed Stack Combination

Table 3 shows FlexStack-Plus backward compatibility and performance of 2960-X and 2960-XR with the 2960-S switches.

When the 2960-S and 2960-X members are stacked together, the entire  stack (even the 2960-X members) fall back to FlexStack capabilities.  Mixing 2960 members limits the max stack members to four, and 20Gbps  stack bandwidth per member, and 40Gbps per stack.

Any clue why this error keeps repeating itself?  As far as I can tell both switches in the stack are forwarding frames appropriately.
Thanks in advance for any help,
    Kevin
P.S.  The only match to the error message that I could find was in cyrillic, and unfortunately I don't read Russian . . . .  ;-)

Firstly, it's not going to help because the switch doesn't have a valid time set.  So I have no idea how far back were the "Traceback" errors generated.
Next, I've been using the same IOS you are using for months and I've never seen a Traceback like that.
I'm not saying that you are lying.  I'm suggeting that it could be something wrong with the configuration of your switch or a potential harware failure.
Hmmmm ... Can you post the output to the following commands:
    1.  dir flash:
    2.  dir flash2:

  • SFP Interface not found in SE37

    Hi,
I'm new to ADOBE from development and I just created my first form.  Using SFP I created the interface and form making them local.  I did not use SE80.  Both the interface and form were fine when checking syntax and activating.  Then went to SE37 to see my functional module and got a statement saying the interface does not exist.
Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

I've been working with BASIS to see if there was a problem with setup.  I created a new test form, Interface and Form and was able to render it in layout per question above. Both Interface and Form had no syntax errors and it activated fine.  Again when I went into SE37 the functional module was not available. I did a cut/paste from the FORM, Properties tab, Interface field to make sure I didn't have spelling issues.
I've been doing a lot of reading the past several days looking for a solution.  I remember reading that a functional group is assigned by the system when I first save a new Forms interface in SFP.  In looking for my interface in SE37 do I need to know the functional group?  I've been just putting the interface name in se37 and nothing else.
    Thanks,
    Helen

  • Tacacs+ 2960S Stack

    Hello All,
We have recently bought a batch of Cisco 2960x-48LPS-L switches. They where all shipped with c2960x-universalk9-mz.150-2.EX2. We have migrated our standard switch configuration which works fine on Cisco 2960, 3750 switches onto these x series switches but have an issue with TACACS+. When we connect using SSH we get a message regarding Authorisation Failure and are unable to logon. This is exactly the same config as used on other switches. I have seen discussions about old versions of code having issues with TACACS have these been fixed in this version? I have tried upgrading one stack to EX4 but with no difference in outcome.
Got another 20 of these switch planned for the next couple of weeks and TACACS+ is a must so any help would be very appreciated.
    Thanks
    Ian

Maybe try and zeroize the the ssh keys and recreate them.  Also I have seen in the past where cutting and pasting  a config the tacacs server keys do not get input correctly.  Delete the tacacs server key line and "manually type the whole line with the key .

  • 2960 Plus VLAN Interface

Hi, i have a 2960 which i need to replace as it is now end of life, the replacement Cisco recommendes is the WS-C2960+24TC-L which is one of the new 260 Plus models, can you tell me if you can create a VLAN interface on this switch as it states that this is a layer 2 switch only??
    Thanks

Yes, you can create VLAN interfaces.

  • Can't apply policy route-map on C3750 stack vlan interface

    Hi All.
I've come up with this problem and i could see some people have had the same issue. I've tried to overlook and check other replies but it didn't help me. So I'm hoping someone could spot the problem. Here are the details:
    2 x WS-C3750G-24T-E in stack
Cisco IOS Software, C3750 Software (C3750-ADVIPSERVICESK9-M), Version 12.2(46)SE, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)
    switch#sh sdm prefe
The current template is "desktop IPv4 and IPv6 routing" template.
The selected template optimizes the resources in
the switch to support this level of features for
8 routed interfaces and 1024 VLANs.
number of unicast mac addresses:                  1.5K
number of IPv4 IGMP groups + multicast routes:    1K
number of IPv4 unicast routes:                    2.75K
        number of directly-connected IPv4 hosts:        1.5K
number of indirect IPv4 routes:                 1.25K
number of IPv6 multicast groups:                  1.125k
      number of directly-connected IPv6 addresses:      1.5K
number of indirect IPv6 unicast routes:           1.25K
number of IPv4 policy based routing aces:         0.25K
number of IPv4/MAC qos aces:                      0.5K
number of IPv4/MAC security aces:                 0.5K

number of IPv6 qos aces:                          0.5K
number of IPv6 security aces:                     0.5K
There are 2 ISPs, G1/0/1 and G2/0/1. After creating a route-map i can apply a policy route-map to Vlan5 and it accepts without any errors. But when you do sh run vlan5 the command is not there, it's not applied.
    Any help will be appretiated.
    Thanks.

    Hi Jon.
Thanks for your reply. I didn't put those configs as they're basic without use of VRF and WCCP. Also i've checked or tried to find the list of unsupported commands and didn't see them in that list. See config below with some extras:

    track 22 rtr 2 reachability

    set ip next-hop 9.9.9.6
I've tried to apply both policies pbr1 and pbr2, it allowed to do that without errors but at the end it wasn't there.

  • 2960 stacking

Gents We have three WS-C2960S-48TS-L swicthes which are working as standalone i want to stack them for proper redudency and efficient network design. I have checked it from cisco website and it says that it can be done. I need to know what i have to do to make them stack....ofcourse cables are required (do they have stacking cables just like 3750 at the back) secondly is there any IOS requirment (minimum)
Theer are 52 ports in total 48 RJ45 and 4XSFP
My core swicth is 4500 which has RJ45 module so can i get RJ45 ethernet SFP for my stack and just plug them in in 4500 ( i need to make the uplink as 4G) will that be achievable ? i am think to run on cable (from esch SFP in stack for each switch once i stack the swicth and make them trunk port-chanel with 4500 core so that i can have 4Gbps uplink???
Thanks guys your opinion has alweays helped me

You need three stack modules for this. The order code is "C2960S-STACK".
Do you need all 144 RJ-45 ports for your user-devices? If not, you can connect the non-SFP ports to the core. That will safe you some money on SFPs.
And remember that a 4-Port Etherchannel will give you 4*1Gig and not 4Gig.

  • 2960s stack problem

    I have a problem with 4 cisco 2960-s Switches in a stack.
2 of the switches are 2960-48fps-l
    1 is a 2960-f48fps-l
    and 1 is a 2960-24pd-l
The problem I ran into is the 2960-f48fps-L was running version 15 out of the box so I got a version mismatch when I did a show switch. So i upgraded all 4 switches to the newest ios 15.0.2 when they rebooted now 2 of them say provision and the f48fps does not even show. I have tried everything from moving the cables around to wiping the config on all 4 switch to setting provision setting to setting priority. If I go back to the original version 12.2 on the other 3 switch they all work fine but the oldest version on the f48fps is 15. I have tried everything all with no luck can anyone help?

    Hi,
Can you make sure that all of the switches use the same SDM template? You can check that with the show sdm prefer command.
    Hope this helps.

  • Single Line and Stacked Bar Graph Representation

Data to be plotted on graph is as follows
Year and Month               Study               Planned Subject               Study-Site ID #               # Enrolled
    2001 / 03          AMXN 9374               50     US-001               1
    2001 / 04               AMXN 9374               50               FR-101               1
    2001 / 04               AMXN 9374               50               SP-301               1
    2001 / 04               AMXN 9374               50               US-001               2
    2001 / 05               AMXN 9374               50               FR-101               1
    2001 / 05               AMXN 9374               50               US-001               1
    2001 / 06               AMXN 9374               50               FR-101               2
    2001 / 06               AMXN 9374               50               SP-301               2
    2001 / 06               AMXN 9374               50               US-001               1
I want to display the above data in line stacked bar graph format where the
#Enrolled will be in Stacked Bar by Study -Site ( Y axis)
Planned Subject should represent a single line at 50 ( Y axis)
Group by Year and Month ( X- Axis)
Study excluded ( Study will be selected from dashboard prompt)
I'm getting the stacked view of Study Site ID correctly but I want Single Line for Planned Subject .
Currently I'm getting multiple line .
Eg for 2001/03 I'm getting line at 50 in yellow colour
for 2001/04 I'm getting a line at 150 in different color since it has 3 Study-Site ID's But the desired output is Single Line at 50
As per 11g doc this is not possible because there is some upgradation in the nature of the graph
" Stacked line-bar graphs in which 2 or more measures are shown as lines on the same axis and are not stacked in 10g are stacked in 11g."
    Refer - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/bi.1111/e16452/apndx_ui_chngs.htm
Is there any workaround for it ?

Did you found any workaround for it ? I am too looking for same scenerio.

  • IP SLA responder on Catalyst 2960S stacked

    Hi
I have a pair of switches stacked:
Switch Ports Model                          SW Version          SW Image
         1    52      WS-C2960S-48FPS-L  15.0(1)SE             C2960S-UNIVERSALK9-M
    *    2    52      WS-C2960S-48FPS-L  15.0(1)SE             C2960S-UNIVERSALK9-M
When I try to enable ip sla responder on the stack I get:
%SYS-3-HARIKARI: Process IP SLAs Responder top-level routine exited
I have been able to find a bug in the toolkit. Should ip sla responder be supported on the
    stack as above?
    Thanks
    Lee Flight

I can confirm 15.0(1)SE3 still has the bug.
I just tested 15.0(2)SE3 released yesterday in a lab environment and....... (drum roll)..... no more HARIKARI . Hardware were two WS-C2960S-48FPS-L unstacked (one of them with installed stacking module though)
Haven't tried the earlier 15.0(2) (i.e. SE, SE1 and SE2) releases - maybe they work too.
