CiscoView 5.4 Support for PIX 515

I have just installed CiscoWorks2000 and am having trouble opening CiscoView for my PIX-515. I read in the documentation that it is supported, (I think). Anyway I receive an error which states:
CiscoView Error
Can't Find Applicable device package for "device name".

Currently the latest CV 5.3/5.4 device package v3-0 for PIX only supports PIX 501, 506 and 506E models. PIX 515 support is not yet available in CV: http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Software/CiscoView/cvplanner.cgi

VPN between PIX 515 Version 6.3(3) and CheckPoint NGX R70.10

I'm trying to setup a simple VPN between a PIX 515 running version 6.3(3) and a Checkpoint running NGX R70.10 and I'm unable to get the tunnel created fully.
What makes it puzzling is that the ACL defining the interesting traffic on the PIX side (which is always the inbound side of the traffic) is registering hits on it's rule. "access-list 130 line 1 permit ip host B.B.B.B D.D.D.0 255.255.255.0 (hitcnt=54)" but the D.D.D.0 address isn't showing up in the debug output below.
Turning the PIX VPN debugging on "debug crypto ipsec" and "debug crypto isakmp" I'm receiving the following output which results in an error and which appears to also have an unexpected ip network (10.27.0.0) being displayed. As displayed below nowhere is the "D.D.D.0" address showing up.
I know this may be confusing to read, but I tried to hide the ip addresses by replacing them with letters. Whatever assistance is appreciated.

I just found out that in version 6.x, traffic cannot pass through when the security level are the same.
For VPN Client, user traffic came from outside interface.
If split-tunneling is disabled and user want to access Internet, it has to go out from outside interface as well.
As "same-security-traffic permit inter-interface" is not available in 6.x, it become impossilbe for VPN client to access Internet, when split-tunneling is disabled.
Am I correct?

With modulus 1024 or 2048 don't have problem.
Why? Is a limitation?

PIX currently only supports a maximum key size of 2048 bits. I don't believe there's any works under way for it to support 4096, so if you would like this feature then please feel free to contact your Cisco Account Manager and have them raise a feature enhancement.

Support for OS X Spaces

Please could we have support for OS X Spaces in CS4?
Spaces works with all of my other apps (except Lightroom).

My mistake, Bridge is not Cocoa only Lightroom and Acrobat are (or at least are using Cocoa elements [I seriously doubt that Adobe implemented a cut buffer in Lightroom]). Bridge has a highly customised interface with tabs, rearrangeable panels and whatnot...is Carbon (like Photoshop) but is fully Mac compatible.
I am asking that Adobe avoid using code that is not compatible, the same way any developer would.

PIX 515 issue after trying to upgrade from 601 to 622

Hello,
I am having the following problem on my Cisco PIX 515:
I had been running:
Cisco Secure PIX Firewall Version 6.0(1)
PIX Device Manager Version 1.0(1)
Hardware: PIX-515, 32 MB RAM, CPU Pentium 200 MHz
Flash i28F640J5 @ 0x300, 16MB
BIOS Flash AT29C257 @ 0xfffd8000, 32KB
I upgraded the PIX to pix622.bin. That seemed to work, but the PIX did not boot after reload.
So I reverted it to pix601.bin.
That seemed to work, and my configuration file was still in place and all my services worked as before.
However, upon reload I get the following error:

Apt-x Support for Bluetooth A2DP?

Hi,
are there any plans to support the apt-X codec for the Bluetooth A2DP Profile? Maybe that could solve some of the bad A2DP audio qualitiy issues, that are still expierienced by some users (including me) on all the available phones (tested Pre- with 1.4.5, Pre+ with 1.4.5 and 2.1, Pixi Plus with 1.4.5, Pre2 with 2.0 and 2.1, all gave the same issues with different headsets and receivers!).
apt-X seems to be coming quite fast, not only because apple has built in support for it in it's latest products, but also because it offers CD level quality on low encoding cost, which is MUCH more than the poor SBC codec can deliver.
I hope HP with it's Beat audio line of products will consider adding such enhanced A2DP codecs to the mobile devices... wireless headsets are so much more convinient than anything wired can be. But at the momen A2DP sound quality is unbearable with my Palm handsets and I still have no clue where that issue arises from (my last guess is, that it's connected to me being an european costumer and we are few compared to the majority of the us costumers. As far as I understood there are differences in the radio part of the handsets between EU and US devices, so maybe those differences break A2DP Bluetooth quality).

For those interested in streaming to your home stereo or powered speaker, here's what I ended up doing.
Purchased a Rocketfish Bluetooth Music Receiver from Best Buy (in the US). It is a pretty slick lttle device, about the same size as the power plug adaptor and it supports A2DP and apt-X. There are two audio outputs: analog via a headphone jack and optical. And it ships with a 6' 3.5mm stereo audio cable and a RCA adaptor.
Setup was easy. Connect the audio to the stereo's AUX inputs, set the stereo's source to AUX, plug in the BT receiver power, turn on the tablet Bluetooth on the tablet and play music.
At first the sound was pretty compressed from MP3's, Pandora and the Google Play service.The fix was to go into the Google Play app > settings > equalizer. Click on "surround sound" and change the setting from "headphone" to "studio".Then play with the equalizer settings to tweak.Results in much improved audio.
Happy camper now... music streaming through the house and no wires!

Support of PIX VPN Statistics in the VMS

I'm not able to see the statistics of VPN sessions terminated on PIX 515 in the VMS. Can I see the same statistics in the VMS like no of VPN sessions and other. I have tried to configure the VMS to see the same statistics but was unsuccessful.

Lack of support for Canon G7 and G9. Alternatives?

I am really disappointed about the lack of support for the Canon G9, and looking at the list of compatible cameras (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306835) I notice that Canon G7 - even if it does not have a RAW format, is not supported either.
I am thinking that the purchase of the G9 may have been premature and that I may need to sell it and get another cam that is supported by Apple/Aperture.
What would you guys do? Is there a cam out there similar to the G9 at the moment that has a Apple-supported RAW format?

I think the camera closest to the G9 that has RAW support from Apple are the Panasonic DMC-LX2/Leica D-Lux 3 twins. Don't know where you are, but in the US, the Panasonic costs about $400. 10MP, 28-112mm (35mm equivalent) Leica lens, very compact body, and RAW output. The Leica costs $599, and has that classic look.
I don't know much about that cameras, but you may want to investigate.

Why no SyncML-support for Harmattan??

I've used SyncML on my N95 with memotoo.com for years. Worked very well. I took it for granted that SyncML would be supported on the N9. But alas, it isn't. I find that really incomprehensible. Worse yet, CalDAV syncing with memotoo doesn't work - I don't know who's to blame for this, but on the desktop it works flawelessly so I do have a suspicion. Even worse: there is no way to sync contacts using CardDAV.
MeeGo (the true MeeGo) has SyncML-support out-of-the-box. And the N9/N950 does have SyncML-support for bluetooth.
Yes, contacts syncing is supported for Ovi. And Google. And Facebook. But I do NOT want to use those services, because of grave privacy risks and because they use yet again some proprietary protocols.
I wonder, what where they thinking at Nokia for NOT supporting some well-known open standards??
(While I'm ranting: why is there ^%@$ Facebook and GTalk-support over XMPP, but no self-defined XMPP account?? Yes, you can add such accounts from the terminal, using mc-tool, but really that's just a kick in the teeth. And where's UPnP/DLNA-support?)

Hey Guys, Did you figure out any way to do PIM sync via SyncML on N9?
I am struggling to get things moving as I come from N8.
N9 just doesnt have any way to sync calendar, tasks with Ovi. Same with Notes.

ISE 1.2.1 support for Yosemite?

Hello all, just curious. I see in the release notes for ISE 1.2.X that support for Mac OS 10.10 (Yosemite) was available via patch 12 on the ISE1.2.0 train of code. That said, I see nothing in the release notes stating any support for Yosemite for any of the patches for ISE1.2.1, the latest being patch 3 released 1 week after ISE 1.2.0 patch 12. Can anyone please advise if Yosemite is in fact supported on 1.2.1 with patch 3??

OS X 10.10 is supported in ISE 1.2 p11, 1.2.1 p2 and 1.3.
Patch 12 for 1.2 and Patch 3 for 1.2.1 fix other issues for OS X 10.10, and I recommend updating to the latest patches for these fixes.
Here is the entry in the Release Notes detailing the fix for 10.10 in 1.2 p 12:
MacOsXAgent versrion 4.9.5.3 should be used and MacOsXSPWizard 1.0.0.30
Note that the description for these files denote ISE 1.2 Patch 11/12, ISE 1.3 release and above. ISE 1.2.1 is not mentioned, but follows the bug fix/release schedule for 1.2, with an adjustment.

Apple Support for FCE HD - $200 per call???

i had what was probably a minor issue with editing in final cut express hd today. So naturally, i called applecare. They told me that it had been past the 90 days given to us for support from the point of purchase. Fine. However, the apple support representative went on to tell me that Applecare does NOT support pro applications and that i have to pay $199 per incident? I paid $299 for the product itself! Last i checked, i-pods were selling pretty well and i don't think steve jobs needs that money! Is apple serious? Where do they get off charging $200 for a ONE TIME PHONE CALL? Just because FCE HD is a "pro" application, apple can't assume that everyone who purchases this product is a "pro" from the start!
Where else am i supposed to get phone technical support for FCE HD??
