CiscoWorks 2000

Como puedo ver la utilización del Ancho de Banda de un enlace Frame-Relay con CiscoWorks 2000

You can use the TrafficDirector application to measure various parameters (such as CIR) associated with a frame-relay network. For more information, please see http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/rtrmgmt/sw_ntman/td_main/td_5_8/traf5_8/overview.htm#16524.

  • Ciscowork 2000 User tracking problem: not listing all IP address

    Hello All!
We are troubleshooting ciscowork user tracking function and we don`t get any ip address outside the subnet where the server is!
Can someone explain how cisco work get the list of all ip addresse SNMP, CDP, scan ...??? From what I have read it seem to be from SNMP. Can I found which OID it use?
User tracking list all mac addresse, all switches but not the ip address. It is not in vlan 1. It stop working since we close vlan 1 and move the server to another vlan.
If your answer is: " cisco work can't see your gateway" Can you be more precis...I have seen that sentence but I don`t what that means...
    thanks
    ch

First i would check to see if ANI actually discovered teh device. After checking that the IP address filter is correct and your snmp strings are correct then u can try lengthening the snmp retry timeout values: Also check DNS or your local host file for any typos.. failing this try some of these :
Click on Diagnostics > Discovery Metrics > and click on the hyper link number of devices.
This will show u exactky what ANI has discovered and its CDP relationship to other devices. If you do not see your router or L2/L3 device there, then u can try the following:
    - check cpd neighbours and correct as required and retry discovery
    - select jump router boundries from Setup > ANI admin > Discovery Settings and retry
    - if all fails then add the device as part of the seed file.

  • Custom Report in CiscoWorks

    Hello,
I am running CiscoWorks 2000 with LMS ver 2.6.  How can I run a report that will show me all devices with an uptime of 1 year?  Thanks.

I don't recall a direct way of getting such a report, but there're at least two alternatives that could get you the uptime of all devices:
    1) You could run a Detailed Device Report in RME against all devices. Uptime is included, along with a whole enchilada of other info for each device. This number is based on the SNMP OID value of sysUpTime (.1.3.6.1.2.1.1.3.0) in LMS 2.6, I think. This means it gets affected by CSCdy02471, due to the value's 32-bit nature, meaning it'll wrap around to zero if the actual uptime is 1 year, 18 weeks, 6 days, 2 hours, 27 minutes, 52 seconds, and 95 hundreths of a second. In later versions of LMS, this number may be corroborated by RME via double-checking snmpEngineTime (.1.3.6.1.6.3.10.2.1.3.0), but I don't recall in which exact release.
    2) Another way is to simply schedule a NetShow job to run the "show version" command against all devices. The uptime obtained that way is not subject to the aforementioned CSCdy02471 SNMP counter rollover.
Either output will require further parsing to get the over/under of one year.

  • CiscoWorks and LongReachEthernet LRE

    hi ,
I have Cisco works with Campus Manager 3.1 ,Resource Manager Essentials 3.3 ,
The problem is : CiscoWorks 2000 couldnot be able to discover the 2912 LRE switch !!!!
I checked the supported devices in Campus Manager , LRE switches not their
also , I couldnot find anything about how to make the Ciscoworks2000 discover the Long Reach Ethernet switches ...
PLZ any one have Idea about this ...
Note that in the newest versions ..also there is no support for LRE
    thanks

I couldnot find the Obiect ID , but this is the Model number: WS-C2912-LRE-XL
In the CiscoWorks ver 4 I saw that this device is not supported , even in ver 5 .
I hope if there is some patch I can add to the ciscoworks for LRE switches ..
aha, I found also in addition to LRE switches these Modules also cannot be found by the campus manager :
    1- Gigabi ethernet Module (RJ-45) : WS-C6516-GE-TX
2- Escon Card for VXR router : PA-4C-E
I dont know if there is something to do with these modules!!!!!!!!

  • CiscoWorks2000 on Solaris 10

I am currently running CiscoWorks 2000 on Solaris 9
, but the administrator is going to upgrade that box to Solaris 10.  Will CiscoWorks2000 run on Solaris 10?
These are the packages I am currently running:
    - LMS Bundle                = 2.6
    - CiscoWorks Common Services  = 3.0.5
    - CiscoView    = 6.1.5
    - Integration Utility     = 1.6.0
    - Campus Manager   = 4.0.8
    - Resource Manager Essentials  = 4.0.5

No.  You need either Solaris 8 or Solaris 9.  See http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/ciscoworks_common_services_software/3.0.5/installation/solaris/guide/prereq.html#wp1014215 .  If you need Solaris 10 support, you will need to move to LMS 3.2.

  • How to configure snmp host in IPM?

Hi!!! I have CiscoWorks 2000 Rwan with IPM. I installed and configure IPM to send snmp traps when the treshold is excedeed. I can see on the graph that it is exceeded but I can not verify that it sending snmp traps.Where to view these traps and how to configure snmp reciver host?
Can I use CW2k syslog analyzer automated action to generate mail when get this trap?
    THANKS FOR ANY HELP!!!!
    Regards
    Enes

    Hi,
As you've discovered, IPM can help configure
    these traps:
    http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/rtrmgmt/ipmcw2k/cipm25/ug/ipmfaq.htm#62205
But, you'll need to specify a dedicated NMS
server to receive these traps. The following
documentation should prove to be useful:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk648/tk362/technologies_tech_note09186a0080094aa5.shtml
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk648/tk362/technologies_tech_note09186a0080094a05.shtml
You can use the appropriate "debug" command on
the router to confirm that traps are, in fact,
    being sent.
The traps themselves are defined in the
    CISCO-RTTMON-MIB.my and cannot interact
with the CW2000 syslog analyzer automated
    action.
    Thanks,
    Roger

  • Cisco Prime network and cisco prime infrastructure

    Hi,
What is the difference between Cisco Prime Network and Cisco Prime infrastructure.
    Please advice.

I assume you are asking about Cisco Prime LAN Management System (LMS) vs. Cisco Prime Infrastructure (PI).
LMS is currently the leading Cisco offering for wired infrastructure management. It is the evolution of the earlier CiscoWorks LMS, CiscoWorks RWAN CiscoWorks 2000, CWSI, VLAN Director, original CiscoWorks classic etc. products going back almost 20 years.
PI is the equivalent Cisco offering for wireless LANs and is the successor to NCS and WCS products.
The overlap and confusion comes from the fact the Cisco is positioning PI as the overall wireless and wired management platform and gradually introducing wired network management features to make it equal (and eventually exceed) LMS's capabilities.
There is a comparison table here that shows the current differences. A major new release of PI (2.0) is due out shortly which will close many (but not all) of the gaps on that table.

    plz help

Yes, I do have installed the latest Device Packages. But the result is same.
    Error report is :
" Resulting class definition does not exist on server! com.cisco.nm.cvw.devpkgs.cat6000.descriptor
probable cause: Incompatibility may exist among device package."
How do I verify compatibility between device packages?
I checked on CCO, but can't find help. I feel there is no enough resource of the latest Version CW2000.

  • Which Monitoring Tool is best to monitor LAN and WAN

    Hi,
CAN ANYONE TELL ME Which Monitoring Tool is best to monitor LAN and WAN.
    Waiting for immediate response.
    Thanks
    Irshad

To start with HP open, this is SNMP-based as well. As it is around for quite a while and delivers support for many vendors, it has become sort of an industry standard. Many other vendors deliver add-ons (even CiscoWorks) to support their products via HP open. That functionality however comes with a price. If you have plenty of money an a large network to manage, HP open might be your best choice.
Cisco Works and other -start-with-C- products are typically used to manage Cisco devices. If you have a fair share of non-cisco boxes around you will find that you cannot see or do everything with them that you might want.
One special thing about CiscoWorks is that it lacks a grapical real-time overview of the network. In my opinion this is a weakness in the product. On the other hand, it has many nice features to manage all kinds of Cisco devices.
My ideal solution is to use both a generic SNMP manager, SNMPc in my case, and CiscoWorks 2000. With SNMPc I can quickly see network node status and do some bandwidth management (baselining). CW2k serves mainly to execute changes (NetConfig) and as a syslogger. It is also used to perform IOS upgrades and to store config files.
I guess this could be done with HP open as well, but our money does not reach far enough to pay for both. SNMPc costs a lot less, both in purchase and in maintenance.
Hope this clarifies things a bit.
    Regards,
    Leo

  • Flushing / Deleting Devices from Cisco Prime LMS4.1 - How ?

    Hello,
Discovery got a little messed up when importing from LMS 3.1
Basically I want to flush all devices from all the different LMS modules.
If I delete all devices from Device Management they seem to stay in Topology Services / Device Discovery / Data Collection etc.. They keeps the old device in their own database.
Is there a way of flushing all devices from all these different modules. I'm going to re-import them with a clean CSV import file.
    Cheers
    Barry

It is confusing to everybody I think (except perhaps Joe Clarke). Perhaps Joe will jump in with a solution to this last bit.
Starting back when CiscoWorks instituted a DCR (ca. CiscoWorks 2000?) things began to integrate across the components but under the covers there are still separate bits. Alerts (e.g., those from Fault functions or the old DFM, based on the EMC SMARTS product) are notorious for using settings and a repository different from the rest of the suite. I've had good luck using a local hosts file for that component to work properly (i.e., generate fault records with the proper host name vs. the device IP).

  • IDS 4125 , web interface access, CLI access, monitoring

I knew that we can use ciscowork 2000 to monitor IDS.
1- But can I use Cisco security agent to monitor IDS as well ?
2- Are there any other software for monitoring IDS beside ciscowork 2000 ?
3- Does IDS 4125 itself have web interface for monitoring ?
4- We have got IDS 4125 at work (production line), I tried to access it through web interfaces, I tried all of these without any success:
https(with s)://192.168.x.x,and https(with s)://192.168.x.x:443, http(without s)://192.168.x.x, I could not, then I tried to access it through console without any success.
    I can telent to it.
    Regards
    Regards

    1) No. CSA is a host based IDS. Do you mean Cisco Security Manager? I'm not positive, but I don't think the CSM supports event monitoring like the old CiscoWorks/VMS did.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/products/ps6498/products_data_sheet0900aecd803ffd5c.html
    2)Here are the Cisco tools:
    IDS Event Viewer (free): http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/ips-ev
    CSMARS: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6241/index.html
    CiscoWorks SIM(netforensics): http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/cscowork/ps5209/index.html
Otherwise, just do a google search for "Security Event Management" or similar. The Cisco IDS/IPS has enough market share that most vendors support them.
    3) I'm not familiar with that model. Do you mean 4215? The 5.x version has an event monitoring web interface. I don't remember if the 4.x code does.
    4) By default, the 5.x sensor will be listening on tcp port 443 for https connections and tcp port 22 for ssh connections. telnet is disabled by default. These can all be modified though.

  • Prime Network and ASR 9001

I have Prime Network 4.0 and ASR 9001 with A9K-MPA-20x1GE and IOS XR 5.1.0. Prime connects to ASR9k with Telnet, SNMP and XML, status says reachable, operational. Updated prime to latest PrimeNetwork-4.0-DP1308.
Still, Prime can not see any physical interfaces except MgmtEth (no on-board 4x10G, no 20x1G). Basically, nothing in Slot0.
Can not see any VRFs and BNG functionality configured in VRF.
Only single static route in routing table (does not show connected routes in global routing table)
    What can it be?
Is it me not configuring something, or Prime Network should not be seeing this things?
