Ciscoworks Daemon manager not starting
Greetings,
I have installed Ciscoworks vms ver 2.3 on a windows 2000 box and can start all services except the ciscoworks daemon manager. I have tried reinstalling and verifying permissions but still have the same problem. any ideas?
ThanksHi,
maybe the user of Ciscoworks was erased or was disabled. Verify the status of the CW user on Windows. I guess the user is named casuser.

CiscoWorksLMS 4.0 - Service Ciscoworks Daemon Manager does not start
Dear,
After migrating a virtual machine that hosts the CiscoworksLms 4.0, Daemon Manager service does not start.
From what we see this error seems to be a problem in the license.
Following is the error:
ERROR! The license file is invalid. Please click this link for information about Obtaining a valid license or purchase click here for current licensing information Otherwise, please contact your Cisco representative for purchasing information.
I have already entered in the User casuse group of administrators and reset the password but no use Daemon Manager service not up
Thanks for help!Hi,
From the attached screen shots, I can see the startup type are Incorrect for Many services ,kindly correct their status...
please see below the correct startup type
configuration for LMS Services. As you notice you see that only the
"CiscoWorks Daemon Manager" (except the RSH/Syslog/TFTP services) is set to
start automatically, the Daemon Manager is responsible for starting all the
other CiscoWorks LMS services in a specific order.
So by having the below configuration, LMS will start correctly by itself
after Windows successfully reboots. In fact having any other start up
configuration will cause LMS to not start, because if one of the LMS
services starts before it dependent services, it will not come up and all
subsequent services will fail to start as well.
CiscoWorks ANI database engine - Manual (if Campus Manager installed)
CiscoWorks Daemon Manager - Automatic
CiscoWorks RME NG database engine - Manual (if RME installed)
CiscoWorks Tomcat Servlet Engine - Manual
CiscoWorks VisiBroker Smart Agent - Manual
CiscoWorks Web Server - Manual
CWCS Cmf database engine - Manual
CWCS rsh/rcp service - Automatic
CWCS syslog service - Automatic
CWCS tftp server - Automatic
If DFM installed:
DFM dfmEpm database engine - Manual

DFM dfmInv database engine - Manual
If IPM installed:
IPM Aging Server - Automatic
IPM DB Server - Automatic
IPM Naming Server - Automatic
IPM PM Server - Automatic

EM Daemon is not running.
Today when I started my laptop (XP SP2 with Oracle 10gR2, used as stand alone just for practice) I tried as usual to start the listener and called the EM DB console. I do this operation everyday and today I noticed from the console that everything was down, listener and connection to instance. This never happened so I started thinking of what I might have changed last time and the only operation I did was creating 2 directory objects 1 for data dumps and one for the relative logs from the command output. I used expdp from command line to export a table and this worked fine. Nothing else.
Today not only the console is not working but sqlplus gives as output:
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
What I found is that when running
emctl status dbconsole
the output says : EM Daemon is not running.
I checked the windows services and all needed processes seemed to be running.
Despite I tried to restart the DBconsole process nothing changed.
Then restarted the OracleService<SID> process and checked again with
emctl status dbconsole.
Again it goes "EM Daemon is not running". But if I try to restart it tells me that the agent is already running.
I thought nothing had been fixed, instead surprisingly everything was now working fine, console and sqlplus.
Any idea of what might have happened? And ... is it regular that I still see the message EM Daemon is not running even if everything seems to be up and running ?
I then restarted my laptop and had exactly same experience - nothing was up despite the OracleService<SID> process was started in the services panel as well as the listener and the dbconsole agent.
Again, the situation was fixed by restarting the OracleService<SID> process although the output of emctl status dbconsole shows "EM Daemon is not running ".
This has happened overnight, and as said the only operations I did were those 2 basic creations of directories objects and dump of a user table. Until yesterday I never needed to manually restart the OracleService<SID> process.
Please let me know if you would like to see any logs or have the precise commands I ran.
Thanks,
EnricoThanks Madrid - it is weird because my laptop is isolated on may desk, and does not connect to any network since one month back. I have always been working with the loopback adapter that I configured months back following the indication on the Oracle site. So I configured it with 192.168.5.5 and always called the em console via my hostname and port, and the hostname is locally mapped to the above IP in the hosts file.
Coming to your advise, I noticed that EM configured with my localhost as the host name. In example, in the homepage the listener looks like LISTENER_"pasticci-116b1b" being "pasticci-116b1b" my hostname.
But above all - what I can't understand is what happened between yesterday and today to have triggered this kind of problems, since before shutting down yesterday I only did those apparently harmless operations...

Data Manager not running scripts
Dear Experts,
I've followed one of the "How to pass parameters to BPC scripts" guide and created a Process Chain to run scripts. The whole thing didn't go as smooth as expected and I'm not sure which part went wrong.
As I'm having trouble validating the complex version of codes. I wrote something very simple instead like
*XDIM_MEMBERSET AcctDetail=Non_AcctDetailInput
*WHEN ACCOUNTPLAN
*IS "SSVV060"
*REC(EXPRESSION=%VALUE%,P_DataSrc="INPUT")
*ENDWHEN
*COMMIT
I ran the package, the package should trigger the process chain. but it never showed itself in the package status like it's never ran once at all.
I'm posting my script problem on another thread.
anyone has an idea? Thanks a million...

Ciscoworks daemon manager stuck at Stopping state
I am working on LMS 3.2 . Tried to stop the daemon service with " net stop crmdmgtd ". It stuck on stopping state since few hours now. I can still open the application. Need a suggestion to terminate the previous command and restart the
daemon service. You should have dmgtd.exe process in Task Manager stuck.
Although you can kill it directly and then try the stop command once again before starting. But to be sure if any process in not stuck, best way would be to reboot the server once. -
I have an instance that I have upgraded from 11.5.10.2 --> 12.1.1 --> 12.1.3 (db is 10.2.0.4)
oldservername CRMTESTAPP (still machine name)
newservername CRMR12 (alias in DNS and hosts to same machine)
After doing the upgrade I ran into an issue where the hostname.domainname was 31 characters long, which created an issue trying to start the ICM due to column limits in FND_CONCURRENT_PROCESSES (doc 413164.1)
We created an alias to the server that was shorter and I ran the adcfgclone to configure the instance with the new server name.
Everything ran, completed and the ICM will still not start. It seems to be looking for the FNDFS_oldservername instead of using the newservername
in FND_NODES only the newservername and authentication are listed. I shut everything down, ran cmclean.sql and I have also tried the CM Recovery wizard.
In OAM when you click the ICM, and click Edit it shows the newservername as the only node listed, yet still when you click Log you get:
"An error occurred while attempting to establish an Applications File Server connection with the node FNDFS_CRMTESTAPP. There may be a network configuration problem, or the TNS listener on node FNDFS_CRMTESTAPP may not be running. Please contact your system administrator."
Also when I click Internal Manager, then click the Environment button it seems to be referencing the old 11.5.10 install directories instead of the new ones.
How can I define which server the instance needs to use other than the methods I have tried?
ThanksNone of the env files reference the old host
What about other CMs?
All are defined as the correct node
Can you find any errors in the CM log file?
None other than the 30 chararcter limit error.
If the internal manager shows the correct hostname, then you should find it in the table. For now, take a backup of this table, and update the target_node column for all CMs and try again.
I have updated the table, however it doesn't make a difference because none of the other CM will run without the ICM running according to their diagnostic logs.
I was looking through document 413164.1 and noticed it said that hostname / domainname has to be less than 30 characters. Is this to say hostname has to be less than 30 AND domainname has to be less than 30 OR hostname.domainname together have to be less than 30?
I also looked on our current 11.5.10.2 instance which has the same 30 character limit on the node_name column in fnd_concurrent_queues and it only populates with hostname. Which I assume is what R12 would do as well, which means I am well under the 30 character limit for just node_name.
Is there something I can trace to see what the insert statement is trying to put into the node_name column? The ICM according to OAM is still configured to point to the old 11.5.10 home as opposed to the new 12 home? Autoconfig files have nothing to reference the old home that I have found, where does the ICM pull the environment settings from?
Thanks again -
Recovery Manager not running from BIOS prompt.
I am attempting to fix a G62-107SA following an earlier botched recovery. The recovery partition appears to be in place and I want to recover the laptop from there using the BIOS (?) prompt. Although several other options work OK from this BIOS menu, press f11 while the “Press<F11> for recovery” does not.
Is it because the Recovery Manager may have been deleted and if so, how can I restore it and where can the program be downloaded?I assume the owner has not burned a Recovery Disc set? You can usually order Recovery Discs for less than $20. Contact HP Support in your country /region to order a set. Worldwide contact info can be accessed here>>Contact HP
One other thing you might try in the meantime is to boot from a utilty cd and mark the Recovery partition as Active. On reboot it should boot into Recovery. If you don't have a utilty cd capable of this_
scroll down on this page and get>> Bootable CD and>> ImgBurn to burn the iso image to cd-a guide on using ImgBurn to write an ISO to a disc is> Here. Once created, boot from it. Delete any hdd partitions, create one and format. Next try booting from Recovery again.
