Ciscoworks daemon manager stuck at Stopping state
I am working on LMS 3.2 . Tried to stop the daemon service with " net stop crmdmgtd ". It stuck on stopping state since few hours now. I can still open the application. Need a suggestion to terminate the previous command and restart the
daemon service.
You should have dmgtd.exe process in Task Manager stuck.
Although you can kill it directly and then try the stop command once again before starting. But to be sure if any process in not stuck, best way would be to reboot the server once.

VM got stuck in "stopping" state, and cannot be stopped
Dear all,
I am using Oracle VM 3.2.2.
One of my VM got stuck in "stopping" state, and cannot be stopped.
How can I troubleshoot this problem...Q: Is the VM still running, i.e. can you ssh to the VM?
Q: Find the server where the VM is running, and restart the ovs-agent, i.e. "service ovs-agent restart". Did this help, or is the agent crashed, any zombies?
Possible root cause: These type of errors are typically ovs-agent bugs. First update oracle vm manager to the 3.2.4 release, not 3.2.6. Next update the dom0s to 3.2.4, not 3.2.6. You may need to setup a ULN 3.2.4 yum repo to update the dom0s. As you can see in these forms, 3.2.6 is may not ready for prime time, stick with 3.2.4, is stable. -
Azure Cloud Service Stuck in "Stopping" state for a long time (12 hours)
Does anyone have suggestions what to do with the issue I have. I tried to stop my Cloud Service the service is now basically stuck in "Stopping" State and been there over 12 hours. In my Cloud service there is 16 Virtual Machines I am using in
testing.
I tried to start Cloud Service but it also failed with error "Could not start the virtual machine deployment.".
Is there something I could do or some way to get Microsoft Support (without paying extra)? I have "Visual Studio Premium with MSDN" so i have no other support but billing from Microsoft :(Managed to find the solution. I stopped and deallocated all the Virtual Machines. After that the Cloud Service status changed to stopped state. After that it was possible to start the Cloud Service again.

Ciscoworks Daemon manager not starting
Greetings,
I have installed Ciscoworks vms ver 2.3 on a windows 2000 box and can start all services except the ciscoworks daemon manager. I have tried reinstalling and verifying permissions but still have the same problem. any ideas?
ThanksHi,
maybe the user of Ciscoworks was erased or was disabled. Verify the status of the CW user on Windows. I guess the user is named casuser.

CiscoWorksLMS 4.0 - Service Ciscoworks Daemon Manager does not start
Dear,
After migrating a virtual machine that hosts the CiscoworksLms 4.0, Daemon Manager service does not start.
From what we see this error seems to be a problem in the license.
Following is the error:
ERROR! The license file is invalid. Please click this link for information about Obtaining a valid license or purchase click here for current licensing information Otherwise, please contact your Cisco representative for purchasing information.
I have already entered in the User casuse group of administrators and reset the password but no use Daemon Manager service not up
Thanks for help!Hi,
From the attached screen shots, I can see the startup type are Incorrect for Many services ,kindly correct their status...
please see below the correct startup type
configuration for LMS Services. As you notice you see that only the
"CiscoWorks Daemon Manager" (except the RSH/Syslog/TFTP services) is set to
start automatically, the Daemon Manager is responsible for starting all the
other CiscoWorks LMS services in a specific order.
So by having the below configuration, LMS will start correctly by itself
after Windows successfully reboots. In fact having any other start up
configuration will cause LMS to not start, because if one of the LMS
services starts before it dependent services, it will not come up and all
subsequent services will fail to start as well.
CiscoWorks ANI database engine - Manual (if Campus Manager installed)
CiscoWorks Daemon Manager - Automatic
CiscoWorks RME NG database engine - Manual (if RME installed)
CiscoWorks Tomcat Servlet Engine - Manual
CiscoWorks VisiBroker Smart Agent - Manual
CiscoWorks Web Server - Manual
CWCS Cmf database engine - Manual
CWCS rsh/rcp service - Automatic
CWCS syslog service - Automatic
CWCS tftp server - Automatic
If DFM installed:
DFM dfmEpm database engine - Manual
DFM dfmFh database engine - Manual
DFM dfmInv database engine - Manual
If IPM installed:
IPM Aging Server - Automatic
IPM DB Server - Automatic
IPM Naming Server - Automatic
IPM PM Server - Automatic
IPM Stopper - Automatic
--Change the statup type Accordingly and then REBOOT the Sever and check the issue again..

BI Scheduler service stuck in stopping state
Whenever I try to stop BI Scheduler service on my machine, it gets stuck in a 'stopping' state and I have to restart the box to get it to work again. When I look at the log, I see the following error.
[nQSError: 12002] Socket communication error at call=recv: (Number=10004) A blocking operation was interrupted by a call to WSACancelBlockingCall
The environment is Windows 2003. If anyone has anyone faced this issue before, can you please share your solution?hi,
No need to restart the box just Click on Task Manager-->Process-->NQScheduler.exe (search for this process) and click on End Process.Thats it and go back to services it will trun to Start mode...

SMQ2 - Found a queue with name "*" and all other queues stuck in STOP state
Hi all,
We have a problem on the ECC side, on outbound asynchronous proxies. Sometimes a new queue appears on SMQ2 there with name "", and with status "STOP". At this time, all other queues stuck with STOP status... the only way of resetting all those queues to RUNNING state again is to delete the queue named as ""...
Some of you has any idea how this queue "*" appears there and stop all other queues?
thanks
robertiHi Ravi,
Is not only about one queue stopped... the problem is this queue named ""... with status STOP, all other queues stops too with it. The only way to make things work again is to delete the queue named as ""... the problem is to discover what or who is creating this stupid "*" queue. I think that this is a procedural error on datacenter, but they are saying is not the case... I'm investigating, but if someone else has any idea about I would appreciate
thanks!

CiscoWorks IPM - collectors stuck in pending state
I have IPM 2.6 running on ciscoworks, the first collector i created as a test worked perfectly and started running immediately. Now when i've come to start the project proper to configure 400 collectors only 4 collectors show up. Cisco's recommended collectors per ipm server is 1000 so i'm well within the figure.
I even left it overnight thinking it might be database synching issues. Still can't find all the collectors, worst of all when i try to create new collectors it sees them as duplicates.
The source device is reachable and the ipm process is running, any pointers please?Hi
I also facing the same issues as you, User Entitlement Attestation process don't work.
Did you able to fix it now ?
Thanks in advanced
Thanks

To solve the issue, run resetcasuser.exe located under /setup.support to recreate the settings.
Make sure casuser account is not locked out. Make sure casuser is a member of casusers group and is set to "password never expires".
Additionally you can try to make casuser a member of adiministrators group.

I am having trouble with License Server / Daemon Manager when running LMS 3.1..

CWAWFEngine database engine
CWCS Cmf database engine
DFM dfmEpm database engine

100It looks like you're seeing CSCte49301. Follow the release note steps to solve this:
Symptom:
The EssentialsDM daemon hangs in a Waiting to initialize state (as seen in the output of the pdshow command). Additionally, one might see "Error connecting to JRM" in Resource Manager Essentials applications.
Conditions:
This occurs on Windows servers after the patch for KB968930 is installed, and only if the Windows Remote Management service was started prior to starting CiscoWorks Daemon Manager.
Workaround:
Shutdown CiscoWorks Daemon Manager with the following command from the server's command prompt:
net stop crmdmgtd
Delete the following two files:
NMSROOT\MDC\tomcat\webapps\rme\WEB-INF\lib\ctmregistry
NMSROOT\MDC\tomcat\webapps\rme\WEB-INF\lib\ctmregistry.backup
Restart CiscoWorks Daemon Manager with the following command:
