Ciscoworks LMS 2.6 data collection has stopped
data collection stopped on the 13th of October after investigation the event logs are showing the following system errors
Please gather the server info and send it:
Please follow these steps:
Open VMS via WEB-browser
Go to Server Configuration
Go to Diagnostics
Go to Collect Server Info
Click on Create
Select All filed
Click on finish and this will generate the report
Save the file created file

LMS 3.2 Data Collection Issue
Hi ,
I have LMS 3.2 and license for adding 5000 devices , my data collection is running continously for the past 2 days, when i try to stop the daemon manager and restart it comes to idle state but after some time it again goes to Running state

Ciscoworks LMS 4.1 Inventory Collection issue
We are having an issue with device inventory collection when a device or component in a device is replaced. The inventory collection job appears to be successful but the changes to devices or modules are not retreived. Short of deleting an object and adding back in, are there any configuration changes that can be made or patches that can be applied to LMS to pick up these inventory changes?
Yes, deleting and re-adding the device works. However, changes have been made to multiple devices in the environment and aside from a bulk delete and re-add there is no guarantee that all changes to all devices will be identified and captured. the side effect will be a loss of historical data.
Are there any options other that deleting and re-adding that will allow the application to identify the inventory changes, or is this a limitation of the product?
Are there any items we should check to identify a potential underlying issue? -
Oracle Grid Data Collection Stopped
Hi Everyone,
My Environment details:
Oracle Grid 10g 10.2.0.5.0
Oracle Database 10g 10.2.0.4.0
OS -Redhat Linux 5.4 x86_64
Today i tried to take the awr from Grid console for one of my database but there are no recent snapshot available and the data collection is stopped between agent and database. Please find the error details from emagent.trc
when i checked the agent services its seems running fine but i don't know why the data collection is not happening.
Please advice me how to resolve this issue.

But right now getting below problem,
1. Unable to integrate Cisco-3925 integrated service router
2. Unable to integrate Cisco-2811 integrated service router
3. LMS cannot sense link status
4. LMS cannot auto discover link

Kindly let me know how you are adding device to CiscoWorks LMS 2.6.
As a best practise, when you will add new device to CiscoWorks, you should not select the device type while adding the device to CiscoWorks. Let the ciscoworks collect the inventorty on device and identify it automatically.
To start with make sure you have the lastet MDF device packages install for Common Services and then install all device pachages for other components like RME, CiscoView etc but make sure to have lastest MDF install first.

Performance Report Manager Data Collection Issues
I have an agent running and collecting data in a circular file.... history.log
Data Collection has failed approximately 6 days ago without warning. I have tried to find out the issue and have not had any success.
If I open the Data Collection Window in PRM I see a Yellow triangle beside the hostname:port.
If you can provide any information as to what to look for, please reply.history.log may be corrupted. If you run it through ccat to flatten it does it show any recent (i.e. newer than 6 days) entries?
If ccat gives errors then just move it out of the way (i.e. rename it to history.log.busted) and restart your Agent. A fresh log will be created. Give it a couple hours to make a couple flushes of data to your SunMC Server and see if PRM works.

IDoc Monitoring: Data collection not getting completed
Hi,
I have setup IDoc monitoring in Solution Manager 7.1 SP08 for managed systems which is on ST-A/PI 01Q. There are many IDoc being generated in the managed system but I am not getting any alert for it.
In the alert inbox I get the message that the data collection has not yet taken place since the last activation. and the last data collection time is shown as of 2009.
Also in the managed system the BPMon background job BPM_DATA_COLLECTION_2 get cancelled with run time error TSV_TNEW_BLOCKS_NO_ROLL_MEMMORY
What can be the issue?

How to enforce data collection
Hi everybody,
how can I enforce data collection at a specific operation? I am using the integrated POD showing the data to be collected in one part of the window. The data collection itself works fine, but it is merely optional. I can complete the operation without a warning.
So, where is the hook or rule that I need to set up in order to check whether data collection has been done before completion of the operation?

you can change for the CT500 and CT500_RICH activities in Activity Maintenance:
On POD you have to use these activities.
Note: The system executes all code associated with a hook point in the same database transaction. For hook points within POD pushbutton activities, the transaction includes a single pushbutton activity, such as Start (PR500). If the hook point activity fails, the system rolls back, or cancels, the entire transaction. For example, in the figure in Site Level Hook Points, if you associate Check Configuration (CT520) with the POST_START hook point and the components have not been assembled, the system rolls back the Start as well. LMS 3.2 CM, data collection stays running forever

I have a customer who has LMS 3.2 Solaris. His CM, data collection, is in a running state for more than two days.

Data Collection never completes, and UT acquisition cannot run
Symptom:
Campus Manager Data Collection does not stop. It is reported as always
running in
Topology Services. Additionally, User Tracking acquisition does not run due
to XML files
being written.
Conditions:
This will occur if there are any standalone Access Points being managed by
Campus
Manager. Other devices can also cause this (e.g. old 1200 series switches).
Workaround:
Filter out standalone Access Points and other affected devices from Campus
Data Collection
under Campus Manager > Administration > Data Collection > Exclude Devices.
A patch is available by contacting TAC. -
Problem Topology Data collection LMS 4.1
Hi there,
I have an issue with the lms 4.1 Topology Data Collection. In the Topo Data Collect under Inventory > Dashboards > Device Status > Collection Summary, there are only 2 devices succeeded and 0 device fail. but I have more 500 device in state managed. I run Inventory Collections but the number doesn't change.

A bit silly for both, since these entries were allready in the hosts file, done by the windows install I think

LMS 4.2 Topology Data Collection Issue
Hi there,
i have an issue with the lms 4.2 Topology Data Collection. After installation the Topology Data Collection was running normaly, but since first server reload the Topo Data Collect under Inventory > Dashboards > Device Status > Collection Summary is "frozen". It only shows the following content from first run:
Topology Data Collection 193 0 Not Available Running Schedule
Is there any option to stop this process elsewhere? I cannot find anything under jobs in running state or so. Clicking on Schedule only give me the option to start data collection, but lms always returns that the process is running.

Everything is set to 0:

VRF Collection 0 0 Not Available Idle Schedule
But Topology Data Collection is still frozen to "Running" state.... -
LMS 3.2 Campuss Data Collection Does Not Start
I Discovered devices correctly in CS>DCR . Initially there was no problem in running data collection in Campuss Manager. But now when i try to run data collection manually or by a scedule, it does not start. Although the notification appears that "notified server to run data collection" but nothing happens then.
Also, I applied " net stop crmdmgtd" and then "net start crmdmgtd" and no error was reported. After this, data collection was successfully run, but just for once. That means, every time if i have to run data collection manually or by a schedule, i have to stop and start crmdmgtd ???
Please advise what to do.

LMS 3.2 is installed on Windows Server 2003 service pack 2.It looks like you are on Campus Manager 5.2. This should be fixed in 5.2.1. Proceed to upgrade to this version and then see if Data Collection runs fine. If you still have any problems, post the latest ani.log.

I recently purchased the iPhone 5 and my itunes account on my iMac 7,1 will not recognize it as a device. My imac has stopped downloading new updates, it says it is up to date with iTunes 9.2.1. My imac will not run the newest 10.7 itunes either. All I want to do is put my music from itunes on my computer to my new phone. HELP please!!
i called apple and they are sending me snow leopard so i should, *fingers crossed, be able to run the newer version of itunes. we'll find out for sure in a few days when it arrives

I am currently volunteering in Uganda, so data is precious. I can no longer afford unlimited data, I pay by MB/GB. All of a sudden Mail has stopped receiving. I wait until about 60meg, but no new mail. Using Gmail. Connectivity Doctor says connected fine. No probs there. And weirdly, when I want to send an email. I write it, it takes absolutely ages to try to send but as soon as I click disconnect it sends the email. Very odd. I would just love to be able to write all my emails offline and save to drafts/Outbox and then just connect to send and check emails then disconnect again.
