CiscoWorks LMS 4.0.1 is supported on Windows 2008 EE R2 SP1?
Installing CiscoWorks LMS 4.0.1.
I need to know if Windows 2008 server EE R2 with SP1 is now supported.
Many thanks for help.
Andrea
Hello,
Service Pack 1 of Windows 2008 Server Enterprise Edition R2 is not officially supported yet. Reference the readme.
However, I have applied SP1 to my installation of LMS on Windows Server 2008 EE R2 without breaking it. Your mileage may vary.
Hope this helps.

CiscoWorks LMS 3.2 Won't Start on Windows Server 2008 Enterprise
All,
I installed CiscoWorks LMS 3.2 RME on Windows Server 2008 Enterprise and the daemon manager won't start. The server is a VMware ESX server 4.0.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled and still nothing.
I get message "The service is not responding to the control function"
Has anyone had this issue?
StephanieThere could be several reasons this happens. Common one in Windows 2008 is the swap is not set properly as it defaults to "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives". Try setting the swap to 8GB manually or whichever is the recommendation for your current device count as per:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/ciscoworks_lan_management_solution/3.2/install/guide1/prereq.html
Also make sure the startup services are set this way:
CiscoWorks ANI database engine: Manual
CiscoWorks Daemon Manager: Automatic
CiscoWorks RME NG database engine: Manual
CiscoWorks Tomcat Servlet Engine: Manual
CiscoWorks Web Server: Manual
CWCS Cmf database engine: Manual
CWCS rsh/rcp service: Automatic
CWCS syslog service: Automatic
CWCS tftp service: Automatic
DFM dfmEpm database engine: Manual
DFM dfmFh database engine: Manual

LMS 4.0 eval on 180-day Windows 2008 Server Standard R2 SP1 eval
I'm having difficulties installing the LMS 4.0 eval on an 64-bit 180-day Windows 2008 Server Standard R2 SP1 eval.
The installer says that it needs 2008 Server Enterprise, but the LMS 4 release notes say 2008 Server Standard works. It also says that R1 is supported, but makes no specific reference to R2. I'm assuming that if R1 is supported, R2 would be supported as well, no?You need to install a patch for this OS support:

Make sure you follow the install instructions in the readme -
SAP Support for Windows 2008 R2 SP1

BPC 7.5 SP4 Support for Windows 2008 R2 and SQL 2008 R2
The release notes for BPC 7.5M SP04 state that support has been added for both Windows 2008 R2 and SQL 2008 R2.
For SQL 2008 R2, there is nothing in the feature pack described as "SQL 2005 Backward Compatibility Components" - which was a required piece for BPC 7/7.5 on SQL 2008. Is the SQL 2008 version still a requirement, or does BPC 7.5 now not need the Backward Compatibility components?
Also, the ReprotViewer executable that is packaged with BPC 7.5 is the one for SQL 2008- will that work when installing SQL 2008 R2?
thanks,
Tony DeStefanis
Column5 ConsultingHi,
we have the same environment (BPC 7.5 SP4 on Windows 2008 R2 64 bit and SQL Server 2008 R2 64bit).
we are developping our application-set and for the moment we have no problem.

1. This is the forum for windows 9x
2. There is no official client for 2008 (yet), but several posters have
claimed success with the Vista client.

Windows 2008 server 32 bit support

Is MaxDB officially supported for Windows 2008 server 32 bit platform?

Hmm... about what download link are you talking?
The one in the download area here in SDN?
If so, then this is not relevant for SAP customers as they should get all their software via DVD delivery or the Service Marketplace downloads!
In the service marketplace download sections there are no restrictions given, since the Product Availability Matrix (https://service.sap.com/pam) contains all the release/support information.
In general, the PAM is the one single place to check for supported versions.

Oracle 10.2.0.3 support for Win 2008
I'm trying to install oralce 10.2.0.1 and patch it to 10.2.0.3 on windows 2008 server.
But when I try to launch the installer I get this error:
Abnormal program termination. An internal error has occured. Please provide the following files to Oralce support:
"Unknown"

I checked the metalink site and it looks that 2008 AMD64b is supported but not sure if this is for 10r2 or 11.
Is ora10gr2 supported on windows 2008?
What could be the installation problem? How could I address it?
Thanks a lot, TomThink It's not certified, but
for your installation issue look for Vista Certification and download Patch
p5860454_10201_WINNT.zip
This at least helps you with the installation

Crystal Reports Supported on Windows Server 2008?
Right now, we have it running on Server 2000, but server is being replaced. Would like to go with Windows Server 2008, but, making sure application compatibility first. I have searched the internets, have even called, and cannot get a straight answer.
What Windows OS does Crystal Reports support? And by support, I mean "work without glitches".Well, there's both gated and ungated content, but Crystal Reports, Crystal Reports Server and Crystal Xcelsius should all have ungated equivalents.
It's just that not everyone on this side of the web browser has got the message.
I do regret this.
The CR2008SP1 supported platforms (ungated) is found here:
Windows 2003 is supported, and Windows 2008 is supported starting with SP1.

Support for Windows 2003 on AGS 2.1
I've been trying to find out if AGS2.1 is supported on Windows 2003 and 2003 SP1. The installation and configuration guide document for AGS 2.0 states that the minimum system requirements are either Windows 2000 Server or NT 4.0 Server with SP6a.
Would greatly appreciate if anyone can confirm if support extends to Windows 2003 and 2003 SP1 as well.
Thanks
RichardI am interested in the same thing. How about windows server 2008? Richard, did you ever get an answer??

I am preparing a server for a consultant that is coming on site to help install GRC Access Control 5.3. I want to have the OS installed and the server ready to go when the consultant arrives. My question is about support for Windows 2008 (64 bit). The install guide does not list it as a supported OS. However, if I look at the Product Availability Matrix (pam), I only see supported Web Browsers, nothing is listed about servers. This makes me think GRC will run on whatever Netweaver 7.0 supports (which does support Windows 2008).
Does anyone know if GRC AC 5.3 is supported on Windows 2008 (64 bit)? I did a search and found one thread where someone mentions IGS not working.
Thanks for any help!
AndyHi,
correct - AC does not have its own OS PAM since it relies on the underlying NetWeaver OS PAM.
So since NetWeaver 7.0 is supported on Windows 2008 Server AC should also run on that - haven't tested it myself yet.
Regarding Win 2008: just watch out for the exact architecture (x86 etc.) and DB (MSSQL...) to make sure what combination is exactly supported!
Cheers,

Photosmart 7520 Windows 2008 R2 support
Please allow support for Windows 2008 R2. Most Windows 7 x64 drivers work under Windows 2008 R2, but alas, not the Photosmart 7520.
TomI am actually now using Windows 2012 R12. Install disc and exe/msi basically says it won't install under this OS. Now, if that install message could be circumvented, it should work fine since 2012 R2 is largely based on Win8.

Is current version of IOP supported for Windows 2008?
The next version of IOP, which is going to be out over the next couple of months, will support Windows 2008 server on the server side. The current version - 4.0.x - does not do so. It only supports Windows 2003 Server.
