CIT400 Linksys phone does not sign in with TIME CAPSULE...

Hi, need some help.
I have a Linksys CIT400 iphone and just installed a TIME CAPSULE router.  Before that, when I was using a generic router it was working fine but now I see the base station and the router seem to interact but I cant't login into skype from the handset.   Please give me some hints, I could not find anything on the archive section.

SIP uses 5060 - 5061,but it depends on what was set on your phone connection and router.
some are listed here
http://www.packetizer.com/in/q119.html
I also found some ports here
SIP signaling: Ports 5060 to 5070
RTP audio: Ports 8766 to 35000
consult your router and phone manual for forwarding ports and setting static IP's on your CIT400 as well

The Calendar app that came on my i4S Phone does not sync the correct time for items posted on my Yahoo Calendar. Actually, items post exactly 4 hours earlier than the correct time on my Yahoo Calendar.   My i4S is in the correct New York time zone.  Help?

I posted this question a while ago and didn't receive any responses but there are a lot of people who have viewed it and 10 have said they have the same question so I thought I would update you that I added my nanny to my exchange server account (created an email for her) and I send all invites to that email address and they work.  So sending invites from an exchange server account to a non-exchange server account apparently is a bug so to solve it, get on an exchange server I guess.

  • Apple TV not working well with time capsule

So, I have an apple time capsule which serves two functions: wifi base station and the repository for my massive iTunes library. I connect this via wifi to my Apple TV (not sure which generation it is). The media seems to play well when I play it on my computer, but the Apple TV has a very hard time playing it, sometimes not even showing pieces of media I know are there. Also, doing airplay from my computer or iPad to the Apple TV is very inconsistent. Also experience the same playing issue with netflix. I have recently resorted to watching most things on my iPad and experience no problems.
Suggestions? One thing that comes to my mind is to do a factory settings reset on the Apple TV. Would that do anything?

    Hi zachfromind,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! I understand you are having issues with content on your Apple TV. It sounds like you have everything set up correctly and you are very aware of how the content should be displayed and played. At this point yes, I would suggest restoring the Apple TV back to factory settings and then joining it back to your network and testing. It sounds like you are familiar with the process but you can use the following article for reference if needed.

  • Spotlight does not find files on Time Capsule disk

I have the 2TB time capsule configured with a DATA and FIL disks.  The DATA is used for the Time Machine backups.  The FIL disk is used as a NAS (Network Access Storage) disk.  The FIL disk works as advertised except Spotlight.  When I mount the FIL as a shared disk and go into Spotlight and seach for a file by the filename, nothing happens.  I spent hours on this.  I seached Google and found nothing.  I also tried mounting the disk as a SMB.  This works partially when I alter the search criteria to seach only "Shared".  But it only works within the folder.  It does not search the entire tree.  Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

By default, network drive is not indexed.
See here for the default list of folders that Spotlight will search:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301533
You can manually turn on spotlight on a specific volume by using Terminal and enter:
    sudo mdutil -i on /Volumes/X
(where "X" is the name of the network volume.)
If the index is corrupted, and you want to rebuild it, enter:
    sudo mdutil -E /Volumes/X

  • IPhone does not connect to updated Time Capsule

A couple of days ago my Time Capsule was updated to version 7.6. Although my Macbook Air, Windows PC en Windows laptop can still connect with the wireless network, my iPhone 4 does not anymore. My iPhone can connect to a wireless network in the neighbourhood though.
So far I have tried the following without success:
    - Powered the iPhone off and on again after closing all apps, putting Wifi on 'off'. I've tried this several times the last couple of days.
    - Renamed the Time Capsule
    - Renamed the Wireless network
    - Installed Airport utility on iPhone, but Airport utility doesn't find the network
    - Unchecked the use of wide channels in the Time Capsule wireless options
Most of the time the iPhone doesn't see the network at all. In that case I enter 'name, security and password', but then the iPhone says it can't find the network.
Sometimes the iPhone does see the network, but after entering the correct password it says its unable to connect.
    Anybody have another idea?

Problem is solved. After I changed the Time Capsule back to factory settings and after that had set my own settings, I still couldn't connect. Therefore I tried changing the networkname. It now seems iPhone can't connect to a networkname that starts with a number, contains dashes or is twenty or more characters long. I'm not sure which is the problem, but its one of these three for sure. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with version 7.6 or if this is a coincidence. I may have changed the networkname at the same day I updated the Time Capsule.
Networkname is now thirteen characters long and only contains letters.

  • Time Machine does not complete backup to Time Capsule

Within the past few days my iMac will not complete a backup to my Time Capsule.   The two other computers connected to the Time Capsule appear to be backing up but they size of the backup is smaller.   The Time Machine starts but then stops after 10 or so minutes.   Also, the size of the to backup is ver large, and I have not added that much to my files since the last complete backup.
    Here is what I tried:
    1. Deleting the com/apple/Timecapsule.plist file and restarting the Time Capsule.
    2. turning off WIFI and connecting to an ethernet cable
    3. Verifying the disk (when connected to with the ethernet cable)
Nothing worked although Deleting the com/apple/Timecapsule.plist file and restarting the Time Capsule it got about 50% through before crapping out.
    Appreciate any ideas.
    Thanks

What OS is the computer running? Expect issues with Yosemite.. it is just not that reliable.
How much space does it require and how much is available on the TC?
What speed is the backup doing? If it is super slow it can trip out.
You did the right things, using ethernet and verifying the old backup.. But if you upgraded to Yosemite (upgraded??) then I strongly recommend you start a completely new backup.
Did you load the widget so you can actually check the log info.. to find out why TM stopped??

  • My iPhone 4 (iOS 5) does not  get connected to Time Capsule WiFi

Well, as you can read in the title that’s my problem.Everything was ok but suddenly my iPhone 4 (iOS5) was not able to connect theWiFi Lan Created by the Time Capsule (Gen 1). The strange thing is that myMacBook Pro and my girlfriend’s iPhone 4 (iOS5) work perfectly, they getconnected to the WiFi. And the stranger thing is that the problem occurs onlyin my house, I can get connected at work, star bucks, malls, everywhere but myplace.
When I go to Settings-> Wi-Fi -> I can see my networkin the list of network available, and when I tap on it and entered the passwordit seems that it is going to get connected… but never gets connected, and nomessage is displayed.
I have tried the following with no results; I hope you canhelp me
    In Time Capsule:
Ireseated the Time Capsule and also the Modem
Ichecked that the TC don’t  have permissions(Mac Address)
Iturned off both the TC and the modem.
    IRestored the TC configuration
IChange the Name and password of my WiFi
    In the iPhone
    Iturned off/on the WiFi
    Irenewed the concession
    Irestarted the iPhone
    Ireset network Setting
    IReset the iPhone
Ieven restored the iPhone to its original set up

Having the same issue. Iphone 4 at 5.0.1, Itunes at 10.5.1 iMac at 10.7.2. Synch session fails to start either wi fi or USB connected. Don't know if it is related, but since turning on Match the Music app crashes on the iPhone. No problems on iPad 1, though

  • Fix *most but not all* issues with Time Capsule, Time Machine and 10.5.3

There are so many posts related to this issue, that I just wanted to create one short post with a how to fix / quick tips that seems to work for most but granted not all
Issues: Cannot backup, gets stuck into preparing phase or backup volume seems to be corrupted or not working. User was able to use TM with TC w/o problems before update to 10.5.3
    1) Turn off TM
    2) reboot TC (unplug and plug back in or do it via Airport Utility)
    3) Disable energy saving and screen saving features (* see remark at the end)
    4) reboot iMac, Macbook or whatever you are using
    5) go to finder, unmount the backup volume
    6) force a manual backup in TM
    7) it will take up to 30 minutes preparing backup and then it should work
(*) I found that if the Mac enters into sleep mode or a password protected screensaver sometimes the backup gets interrupted and one get an error message. This seems like a bug and I reported it to Apple.

Hi! I've had the same problem and in my case I even couldn't access the Time Machine with the Airport Utility though I was properly connected with the network. Now it seems to work, and here's what I did:
    - I did a hard reset of TC by pressing the reset button for 5 sec. until the light starts flashing
    - I set up the whole network/airport/tc preferences again (what you always have to do after hard reset)
    - I manually startet a backup.
When I manually started the back up for the first time, the TM preferences said "Preparing" and then stopped without backing up anything.
I restarted the backup again (manually) and finally it worked like described in this post: "Preparing" for roughly half an hour.
In this time, Time Capsule/Machine finds out, what files needed to be backed up. After that Preparation period, time machine started backing up as usual.
All you have to do is hard resetting and setting up the Time Capsule from new. You DO NOT have to delete the hard drive!!!

  • Time Machine does not wake up my time capsule when I do I restore

When I go to restore a file from time machine, it never wakes my time capsule.  I have to go into finder and click on my time capsule to browse it to get it to work.  Anyone else have the issue or know what to do?
    Thanks!!!

Yosemite has loads of network issues..
We need to know the full layout to help.. maybe.
Wireless or ethernet to TC?? Ethernet is 99% ok.. wireless is almost always voodoo with overlay of black magic, gremlins and Murphy's Law.
How is the TC connected into the network?
Did it all work before you upgraded to Yosemite?
Why are you continually using recovery?? Most people do not do this on regular basis.. so people do not have the experience.

  • Macbook 2,1 does not back up on Time Capsule 2TB

Just installed a brand new TC and two Macbooks are (auto-)backing up fine.  The oldest in the club, however, gives me a spinning wheel right after opening Preferences.  It's a 2GB RAM MacBook of 2006, and is running OS X 10.6.8.  Any idea why this is?  Thanks.

Launch the Console utility and type "backupd" (without the quotes) in the search field.  Examine the resulting messages to see if they offer any help.  If you see things that might explain the problem but you can't understand them, paste them into a message in this thread so that someone can help you.
You might also find help with Time Machine Troubleshooting.
By the way, since your Time Capsule seems to be working fine, your Time Machine problem would probably have been better posted in the section that deals with your OS X version, such as Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard.

  • When doing a restore with Time Capsule, I get -8003 error; restoring nothing

    Hi,
When doing a full restore with Time Capsule, I get -8003 error; restoring nothing. This happens with all recent backups. Also after doing a verify/repair of the TimeCapsule disk.
This is a dissaster for my originals (my Ableton Live projects). I am very dissapointed in TC and TM at this moment, because I trusted my backup system in combination with my MBP fully.
    Please help?
    Best regards, Tom

    Hi Pondini,
Sorry for the late response, but the problem was something else and were two separate ones.
Somewhere along the way the TC backup couldn't find backup to the original TC volume, that's why I let TM backup towards my user volume named 'Tom'.
When I wanted to restore the root of my drive when selecting the diskname and 'Restore' in any point in time, this resulted in error -8003 in the activated TimeMachine.
Then I tried to do it via the recovery OS and even via the original OSX DVD. Both not enabling me to select the TC volume named 'Tom'. Then I remembered that I first backed-up onto the original 'TimeCapsule' volume/partition. When I copied the sparsefile to the 'TimeCapsule' partition, I was able to recover the entire disk using the recovery OS.
All my files are backup and I am a happy Mac user once again :-)
    Thanks & Regards, Tom

  • Problem with Time Capsule WIFI Network

Here's what happened to me suddenly at 15.
I have 1 TB Time Capsule connected to DLINK adsl modem. Time Capsule is connected by Ethernet to a PC, by wireless an iMac, MacBook, PC Notebook, 2iPhones, 1 iPad. Password-protected network.
Start the iPhone to tell me that the password for network access is not right. Therewrite, same problem. It does not connect anymore. Then I try with iPad. Even theycan not surf, it asks me the password, says "Unable to access the network xxx".
I go to the PC and I have no problem connecting. I turn on the notebook, same problem, does not accept passoword and can not connect. Restart the iMac and thenworked up and surprise me asking for the password of the wireless network, I enterthe correct password, and does not connect.
Recovery Time Capsule, change the network name etc etc. ...
    same Problem
Am referring again, do I reset everything, I create new network ..
With PC and iphone does not change anything, not even with iPad, beginning with the iMac is connected, but the connection is very slow ... and then stops.
When I connected the iMac via Ethernet and even navigate without any problems.
So I think that something is broken or damaged at the wireless Time Capsule.Yesterday I updated Airport Utility ... maybe you can 'hit something?
I also googled and I read that many TC died after 18 months. I have bought for Christmas 2010 ... and have now gone 18 months!

Maybe now it's ok. The problem was caused by the utility airport update on my Pc with Windows 7. I installed 5.5.2 version again, and now no problem with all devices.
Anyone can explain me if is it possible?

  • Use Network ready printer with Time Capsule?

Recently bought a laser all in one Canon printer that was network ready. Canon tech support told me it would not be compatible with Time Capsule (500 GB) as the wireless source. Is this true?
If true, what printer brands will network easily with the Time Capsule?
    Thank you!
    In search of new printer

    Welcome to the discussions!
If the all-in-one is "network ready", it will have an ethernet port to connect to the network. It will need to connect by ethernet if you want to be able to use the scan, fax, copy, etc functions.
If you are planning to connect the all-in-one to the Time Capsule USB port, the printing function will work if the device is compatible. The other functions will not be supported.

Hey, i have an iphone 4, and it is upto date, the problem is that my phone does not play any videos online except on facebook, all other videos do not play instead a crossed play sign appears on the video. Please help.

I watch YouTube videos on a regular basis - mostly with the YouTube app but also with Safari.
Some YouTube videos are supported to be viewed on a computer only or with a Flash capable device, which is becoming few and far between since Adobe no longer supports Flash on any mobile platform.
Sometimes I get this video cannot be played on this platform, but rarely.
