Citrix Issue

Hi All,
I don't know if this is a correct place...but pls guide me. We have installed SAP B1 server and client in the Citrix server. Now this is a demo version. Basically, we want to test whether we can access the SAP application from a remote client.
Now we have problem in connecting to the SAP server for logon. Can anyone ple help.
Thanks & Regards
Shiva

Hi Marc,
The SQL server and the SAP Licence server is on the same Citrix Server. Yes I am giving the the correct SQL server name, still it is not connecting. When I get to the 'Choose Company' menu screen, it is not detecting any company database.
When i goto change server screen and try to login using 'sa' user id and the server name it is still not allowing.
I am able to log in locally but n ot over internet Citrix connection.
Thanks & Regards
Shiva

  • Citrix issues

    I love the new browser. It sped up my computer beyond what I expected. My only issue so far is that it will not open my Outlook application in my "Citrix Web Interface (Metaframe Presentation Server)" log on page for work. Am I missing a plug in or upgrade to fix this? I would hate to go back to IE7. I can get to the page, Log on, It displayes my remote desktop and Outlook icons but when activated it comes up as an error.

    Verify which versions of Java work with it, and be sure you can get the correct version of Java installed for your Mac.

  • Runtime v13.0.6.1027 causing Load Report Failed on Citrix Receiver v13.4.0.25

    With the installation of SP6 runtime, our clients that connect via Citrix are getting the following Load Report Failed message:
    In order to fix, they must change their Citrix Connection Session Security for Files to Full Access.  And, apparently, even if this Files setting is correct, they still cannot create files on the root of their C: drive, so they must create a new folder on their C: dirve and save any files to that folder.
    I saw this discussion Crystal report error while loading the file and Don stated:
    "Hello,
    It's exactly what it says, the path to the report is not correct, user does not have permission to it or it simply doesn't exist.
    Check Citrix's Forum, there are known issues with it and CR.
    Don"
    Prior to our upgrade to V13.0.6.1027, we we used the Crystal 2008 runtime components to run reports, and had no issue.  Why, with this version of runtime does the access change?  We have many citrix users, and this has become a critical issue.
    Can you please point me to the specific forum that states the known issues with Citrix and CR?
    Thank you

    I never checked myself but because it a Citrix issue you should ask Citrix for help. They are familiar with permission issues and configurations.
    If you run CR on your desktop it works...

  • Reader DDE and Citrix Problems

    I have an application that runs as a published app on Citrix.  The app is supposed to print .pdf documents in the background, without display or dialog.
    To accomplish this, I create an Adobe Reader process, hidden from the user, and using DDE, print silently; it worked fine testing locally and I deployed to a test Citrix environment.  However, the printing didn't work when running in Citrix.  To further determine why, I changed the process creation to display, rather than hide the app, and added a document open command; this showed all other DDE commands were actually working in Citrix, just not the silent print.
    Searching the web, I discovered many people have issues with version 9 under Citrix and/or with DDE.  I decided to uninstall 9 and install 8 under Citrix.  In this configuration, everything worked fine.  Uninstalling 8 and installing 10 resulted in similar results to the non-printing 9...opening docs works, but printing does not.  I added some more DDE commands and tested each version both locally and under Citrix and here are my results:
    Running the app locally, not using Citrix, all of the following DDE commands worked, versions 8, 9 and 10:
    DocOpen
    FilePrintSilent
    DocClose
    CloseAllDocs
    FilePrint
    DocPrint
    Running the app under Citrix:
    DocOpen (works in all versions)
    FilePrintSilent (only works in version 8, not 9 or 10)
    DocClose (works in all versions)
    CloseAllDocs (only works in version 8, not 9 or 10)
    FilePrint (print dialog displays in all versions)
    DocPrint (only works in version 8, not 9 or 10)
    So, my question is, what is going wrong, for only some of the commands, for version 9 and 10 under Citrix?  How do I get around this...what is the issue?  Anyone know?

    Hi,
    I have the same problem.  I figured out that this is not a citrix issue, but found that the FilePrintSilent DDE command does not print when the name of the default printer is 64 characters or longer.
    The reason this occurs frequently in citrix is that when a client's printer is auto-created on the server, citrix appends a string that could be 41 characters or longer to the end of the printer name (eg."FX DocuPrint 340A-AP on apps1" would become "FX DocuPrint 340A-AP on apps1 (from WI_kvtPYKFjZw2ybjkKT) in session 6") and hence making the printer's name longer than 63 characters.
    The same printers can be printed to if reader is opened and printing is done via the print dialog.
    If someone at Adobe reads this can you please set this right (either remove any restriction on printer name length or set it to at least a 104 characters) in Reader X.
    My guess is the glitch was accidental (like a developer forgetting to check if there is an ERROR_INSUFFICIENT_BUFFER error after an API call to GetDefaultPrinter)  rather than a deliberate restriction.  Maybe an Adobe employee can tell us more.
    Thanks.

  • Microsoft excel error while exporting a FRS report from Planning to excel

    I have multiple screen shots of the issue.
    are getting issues when within citrix trying to run an FRS report from workspace into excel.
    first they get a windows login window looking for credentials of a User name and a Password.
    the first error:
    "Could not open 'http:SERVERNAME:19000/hr/hrget/modules/com/hyperion/reporting/web/office/HROfficeReport.jsp/FOLDERNAMEandFILENAME.xls?format=excel.20028viewAs=excel&instanceId=11165278&previewDone=true'.
    second error:
    Microsoft Excel cannot access the file 'http:SERVERNAME:19000/hr/hrget/modules/com/hyperion/reporting/web/office/HROfficeReport.jsp/FOLDERNAMEandFILENAME.xls?format=excel.20028viewAs=excel&instanceId=11165278&previewDone=true'. There are several possible reasons:
    The file name or path does not exist.
    The file is being used by another person
    The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open workbook.
    Third error:
    The file you are trying to open, 'FILENAME.xls', is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file do you want to open the file now?
    yes , no, or help
    I am trying to figure out if its a CITRIX issue? An EPM issue? or what
    We have Office 2010 32 bit with smart view and excel add-in.
    Does anybody know why this may occur? I have screen shots I just don't know how to post them.

    When you export a FR report to excel, yes, you will get a prompt for credentials, but as said in 11.1.2 HFR guide, you have to ignore that by clicking "Cancel" and then you will get a second warning pop-up saying "The file you are trying to open, 'FILENAME.xls', is in a different format ........"... Click on "Yes"... you should be able to see the report in excel....
    Both these are known issues in HFR export to excel and you can find them in oracle features guide. And they are not related to Citrix.
    As in Oracle HFR user guide "When exporting a Financial Reporting document to a Microsoft Office format (Excel, Word or PowerPoint), when using Microsoft Office 2007, you may receive the following warning: "The file your are trying to open <filename>, is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file now?". This warning notifies users that, although the file has an Office extension ( ".xls", ".doc" or ".ppt"), the content of the file is different from the expected (native) Office format. Although Financial Reporting reports are generated in an MHTML format during export, this is not a security concern. Microsoft Office is just warning a user of a file format that is different than expected. Upon selecting “Yes” in the warning, the file will successfully open in Microsoft Office."
    Thanks,

  • Remote Desktop Connection Mouse Slow with Windows 2012

    Hello:
    I am connecting to a customer site with Citrix and using Citrix's Remote Desktop. I know this may be a Citrix issue but not sure. Customer isn't helping so thought I would check here.
    I have two connections to computers in their network with Remote Desktop. One is to a Windows 2003 Server which works fine. When I connect to Windows 2012 the mouse is slow. I tried adjusting the mouse settings but it doesn't help.
    Has anyone else experienced this? Is it an issue specific to Citrix or to Remote Desktop in general?
    Thanks,

    check out this blog, it's for virtual PC though but also using RDP.
    just try it out whether it helps or not

  • Error opening pdf from published desktop

    Citrix XenApp 5
    Windows 2003
    Adobe Reader 9 (Swedish version)
    We do have the following issue:
    On a published desktop opened from the webinterface you are unable to open a pdf file from an Intranet site. It doesn't matter if you try it with an admin account or a normal user account. The pdf is trying to open in a new browser window and an error occurs.
    EM: There was a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader. Quit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and try again.
    When closing the error and browser window and click the pdf link on the site again, it opens in a new browser window.
    Uncheck "display pdf in browser" in Adobe Reader is not an option for the customer.
    When copying the shortcut to the pdf and paste it in a browser window it opens.
    When connecting to the server with an admin account or a normal user account using RDP the issue does not occur. However it seems to be a Citrix issue and I have posted it on the Citrix forum, I post it here as well in the hope to get this solved..

    Check the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe
    Here check the default value. On an english machine, it has to be set to:
    "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe"
    If you installed Adobe reader to a different directory, enter the path where "AcroRd32.exe" is to be found.

    I asume the citrix-client is missing some windows-privileges. So you're right. It's more something for an CITRIX-forum. But maybe somebody here has had the same problem.Well this certainly isn't the right sub forum, even if you're just looking to see if anyone's experienced similar.
    Perhaps the [Database General|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/forum.jspa?forumID=61] forum would be a better place, but make it clear when you post there that you know it's likely a citrix issue and you're just asking in case anyone else has experienced similar, otherwise you could get some unwanted responses. ;)

  • Report as pdf issue in citrix

    Hi,
    I have created a report in navision where it is :
    1) Saved and mailed in pdf format : For this i have used the location of filedirectory as TEMPORARYPATH.
    2) Save as pdf : where i have used codeunit 412 to save the report on user desired location.
    Now the problem faced by me is :
    a) If, I run it on local system the report runs fine, i.e. the pdf is mailed to desired recipient as well the file is saved on the location where i want it to be saved.
    b) Same happens when i run it on the server.
    c) But when i run it on citrix server i am not able to mail neither i the file is saved .
    We use navision 5.0 version and our client accesses navision through citrix.
    Please help in this issue.

    Hi,
    I would check with the vendor of the application that is giving you trouble or with the Citrix folks.

  • Issues with Adobe reader x not working as regular users on a citrix server

    Have 1 citrix server. Adobe reader x installed. Some users are able to open adobe reader,  When I add the users who can not open adobe reader  to administrators group. they still can not open adobe. While in their session if i do a run as . I run it as the domain admin, then adobe reader opens up.
    This makes no sense, any help would be appreciated.

    You should ask in the Reader forum. Normally, the product would be installed on the local machine. If you were talking about Acrobat, then the server use is a violation of the EULA, but it is probably just a networking issue with Reader.

  • Adobe Photoshop cs6 over citrix, Image Issue

    HI Guys,
    I am Citrix Tech, could you please help or suggest me in get this issue sorted. we have published Adobe Photoshop CS6 over Citrix which uses ICA protocol. When user launches the application and opens a image it loads with Blue coat color over the image.

    Thanks for the update, yes initial checks reveals it is something to deal with Citrix. I was able to open the same image fine locally on Server, but when accessd via citrix it comes with Blue color.
    As of now Citrix have advised to have Citrix Roll pack 05 to be installed.
    Will update if that fixes

  • Citrix engineer report PB app memory issue using XenApp 6.5 and PB 12.5.1

    I opened an Incident with SAP as this could be a big issue for our PB 12.5.1 application recently migrated from PB 9.02 deployment.   We are in the process of piloting our PB 12.5.1 application.  We are using Pcode for a rather large application.   Each end user makes a connection to Oracle 10g using the o10 DLL. The PB 9.02 version of the application, which the bulk of our users are still using, is running on an older version of the Citrix software.   Our new pilot version is running under Citrix XenApp 6.5, Windows 7 and PB 12.5.1.  I noticed another thread in this discussion group in which another PB user noticed a similar issue running  a PB 12.5.1 Pcode application running under Windows 7.  One of our Citrix Engineers just relayed the following observation to us.
    "I have been watching the new NIS servers, and it would appear that the 12.5 version is using 2-3x more memory than the 9 version.
    I would expect it to be the opposite.  Where this is going to be challenging is, that it will take us from 13 servers to an estimated 40+.
    If you are working with vendors, or other technical resources, maybe they have some recommendations.
    I have taken our data to the VM team, and they are seeing similar on their side.  So it doesnt look like its anything other than the
    behavior of the application.  A lot of page faults, and memory writes which is common for powerbuilder...almost uses no CPU, but memory.
    I have seen 90-105 users on the old systems (prior version of Citrix server and PB 9.02 Pcode).  With 25 users on the new (XenApp 6.5 - PB 12.5.1) server, we are at 90% memory use.  I thought it was something not configured optimally on the hardware side, but after checking with VM team, it would appear that its just the behavior of the application.  There is a significant difference in memory usage."

    What kind of database were you connecting to with your PB 10 application running under Citrix?
    Oracle.  Most likely 10g at the time.
    Did you get to compare it with a prior PB version?
    Actually, it was likely 9 when we first deployed it.  It's been 10 years since they did that deploy and 10 hadn't been released yet.  They upgraded to 10 some time later when I did some work for them again.

  • Issues with running permission scripts on Hoted desktop via Citrix and when deploying via SCCM

    I am running a permissioning VBScript which runs when I do a standalone insallation manually running the power shell commands to add and publish the application.
    This only runs vis SCCM when a machine installation is acrried out but not a per user installation. Any ideas?
    The same script seems to run sometimes & sometimes does not on a hosted desktop with aps publish via citrix from the appv server. Any ideas?. A coppy of my Deploymentconfig.xml file userscript section that calls the script is below
    <UserScripts>
          <StartProcess RunInVirtualEnvironment="true">
            <ApplicationId>[{AppVPackageRoot}]\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe</ApplicationId>

            <Arguments>adobe_prtk --tool=VolumeSerialize --provfile=[{AppVPackageRoot}]\..\Scripts\prov.xml</Arguments>
            <Wait RollbackOnError="false" />
          </StartProcess>

            <Wait RollbackOnError="false" />
          </StartVirtualEnvironment>
        </UserScripts>
    The guys in the build team reckon this is an application issues but I can't see how it can be if the applications runs when manually calling the powersehell commands. Also like I said on the Hosted desktop one minutes the script runs and one minute it does
    not.
    Can someone help please?

    Hello,
    If deploying the application to the user, and the configuration file is updated as part of the content and distributed to the DPs, and then downloaded to the client and the client is enabled to run scripts - no I never had that issue.
    If I had something which didn't work I would usually verify what is on the Distribution Point?
    You can download the SCCM 2012 R2 toolkit to verify what is on the DPs;
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36213
    If it is deployed to the client - it means you can read the client log-file from SCCM. See the AppEnforce.log as a potential candidate;
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh427342.aspx#BKMK_AppManageLog
    If it gets properly parsed by the App-V Client you can check the App-V event logs, see Tim Mangans blog post about enabling further debug-logs;
    http://www.tmurgent.com/TMBlog/?p=1247
    As I can't see what is happening within your Environment I would redo all the steps and verify what the results were of each step. If one step fails, I would then post what step I had performed up until that point, what the result were of each step and what
    was happening within the final step that I would consider a failure.

  • Citrix Netscaler AppXpert with Sharepoint 2010 Page Edit Issue

    Posting this as a questions and discussion point.
    The issue is in using Citrix Netscaler with AppXpert with SharePoint 2010. I've seen this issue for two customers.
    Configurations:
    - Citrix Netscaler as the load Balancer
    - Netscaler AppXpert for SharePoint deployed on Netscaler (using either AppXpert version 1.1 or 2.0)
    - SharePoint 2010 Standard or Enterprise editions
    Issue:
    A SharePoint user with appropriate rights go to a SharePoint page. They choose Edit page, make changes and want to save changes. At this point all SharePoint ribbon options on the top are greyed out. End result, users are not able to make changes to their
    site pages. Issue happens for everyone including Farm Admins.
    Cases:
    a. The users are able to edit and save SharePoint wiki pages if I point user's PC to the SharePoint web server WFE by changing their local host file.
    b. On Citrix Netscaler, if I use the traditional load balancing i.e. without Citrix AppXpert, then the users are able to edit and save the pages. That is an option if the customer is using SharePoint 2010 Standard. That is not an option if a customer is
    using InfoPath forms. InfoPath is a feature of SharePoint 2010 Enterprise edition. Citrix AppXpert for SharePoint is needed to make the InfoPath work. Else the users get session errors when they use InfoPath Web forms.
    c. The issue happens on almost all combination of OS and browser. XP, vista, Win 7, Win8, Win8.1, IE8, 9, 10, 11 and other browsers like chrome etc as well.
    Please share your ideas and suggestions.

    Hi Faisal,
    As I understand, the issue will be solved when end users directly connect to SharePoint WFE servers. Since the issue is related to third party products, I'd recommend you contact their support engineer for sufficient resource and assistance. For your convenience:
