CJ20N: link doc. templates to project template

Hello experts,
We have a need for following scenario (standard ECC 6.0):
Project manager creates a new project in transaction CJ20N using template. This is standard, I know. However, there is a need that the project template should also include templates for documents (planning to utilise DMS or KM or equivalent?).
Documents are linked to different statuses or parts of the project progress and they might be tailored project by project, e.g. names of the respondents, but there are a lot of standard text. Level for assignment is WBS. Documents are templates --> they are modified according to needs of that given project or then the documents are; e.g. drawings --> not modifiable.
They are not willing to create DIR somewhere else and then assign it to project - at least not now. It is also the question of easily knowing what template is needed for what phase. There are legal issues also.
So, is there some sort of FM or Bapi needed to call CV01N "inside" CJ20N?
Since there is a huge amount of documents, the structure of the different documents/templates is also a tough question but this can be most likely be sorted out through KM - portal is also used as UI.
Help for this CV01N - CJ20N is problem is highly appreciated.

Project templates for FrameMaker to RH mappings

Hello,
I just noticed a sample script installed with Robohelp called Project Template Generator (Project Template Generator.jsx).
Does anyone know what this script does exactly and how I would import it into another project?
I would like to have a way in which to save all my project mappings, and the Save Settings to and subsequent Load settings from functions accessible in the Project settings dialog doesn't work for my FM template (our company template is a bit complicated and has a lot of tags). I've contacted Adobe support and they couldn't get this feature to work with my template either, so I'm really interested in the Project Template Generator script...I know how to run a script, but I don't know what this script does exactly, and how I'd import it into a new project.

It is intended to create a new RoboHelp project with all the same settings and content that are defined in the template. It is described on my site at http://www.grainge.org/pages/authoring/project_templates/templates.htm
There's just one teensy weensy problem, the script is flawed!
I managed to get the replacement script referenced to work by immediately closing the new project, trashing the CPD and reopening the project but that was in simple tests.
I don't know if it would hold the settings you want.

Where can I get project template for Web Dynpro example&

Hello,
There is an example in SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio Documentation for creating a Web Dynpro Application accessing ABAP functions. It references the initial Web Dynpro project template file: TutWD_FlightList_Init.zip. How can I get it?
It is not available in the SAP Developer Network (Web Application Server area | Samples and Tutorials).

Problem while creating a new project template

I am trying to create a new project template under one operating unit newly created.
I am using P A Super User responsibility for that operating unit.
In profile setting the above responsibility has been assigned the new operating unit under Mo operating unit profile.
Now when I go to Setup>>Projects>>Project Templates and click on New, the form to create new Project template opens up but in the field where I have to select the operating unit, it shows no values in the LOV.
Can anyone please help me to know what setting do I have to perform so that I can select the operating unit in this new Template creation Form.

Dear Mr. Govind,
we have followed all the Project Implementation Setup for the new operating unit except for the Implementation options which we have to fill up for each operating unit.
In the implementation Options form in the first tab 'System' there are many fields to be filled up.
For 'Summarization period Type' we choose 'G L Period' and based on this the fields 'Calendar Name' and 'P A Period Type' automatically gets populated.
But in our case the 'P A Period Type' is not getting populated.
Can you let me know where we can link the 'P A Period Type' to the chosen 'Calendar name'?
Also there is a check box - 'Maintain common PA and GL Periods'. If we tick this check box, a message says: 'The Period Type and Calendar of the PA Period does not match the Period type and Calendar of the corresponding GL Period.'
Can you please let me know where to create the PA Period based on the corresponding GL periods?

Characters in Standard Template in Project not replaced in new project

Hi. I have created a coding mask : XOG..XXX.XXX.XX/XX-XX.000. With this coding mask I have created a standard wbs template , XOG.XXX.XXX.00/01. Now when I create a new project copying this template with project definition XOG.GRE.ADD.11/06, only the project definition has its characters replaced with the name of the project. The WBS' created still carry the characters in the standard template ie XOG.GRE.XXX.00/01. Is it possible to have the characters of the WBS replaced when creating a new project along side the project definition?

Your Standard Project Definition is XOG.GRE.ADD.00/01 and bellow which you have created WBS element.
i.e.   XOG.GRE.ADD.00/01
        XOG.GRE.ADD.00/01-AB
        XOG.GRE.ADD.00/01-AB.1
Now while copying from std template you have given your new proj definition XOG.GRE.ADD.16/06 and bellow WBS element are getting created so there is no need to change any character before 16/06 because your project definition and 1 level WBS element should be the same.
Still if you want to change ADD with different characters i.e ABC follow the following procedure while creating the project.
1.     In CJ20N click on Copy project and enter your required project definition XOG.GRE.ADD.16/06
2.     Select required project profile
3.     Enter standard project definition XOG.GRE.ADD.00/01
4.     Click on WBS Element overview (F8) instead of OK
5.     Accept the warning messages
6.     Then Click on Replace and give your required characters to replace with i.e ADD to ABC
But this will have your project definition as XOG.GRE.ADD.16/06 and your WBS elements starting with XOG.GRE.ABC.16/06
i.e.   XOG.GRE.ABC.16/06
        XOG.GRE.ABC.16/06--AB
        XOG.GRE.ABC.16/06-AB.1
So there will be mismatch in project definition and WBS element codes. If your business is accepting it then you can create the same, but logically it is not correct.

How to transport Implementation project template changes?

Hello All,
I have made changes to the project template (added doc types, assigned status schemas) for Implementation projects in my dev system by going to SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN > Goto > Project Template > Implementation projects. I want these values to be the standard values whenever I start a new Implementation project.
When I save my changes, I am not prompted for a transport request, nor can I find any transport option in the menu. Do these project templates need to be manually configured in my test and production systems, or is there another way of assigning the changes to a transport that I cannot figure out?

Just enable the GLOBAL field for the values which you want to be available for all the implementation projects.
e.g
You created a documentation type which is having global field tick so it will be available for all

Install sharepoint 2013 project templates for VS 2012 without connecting to internet - offline install

HI,
is there any way i can install thE sharepoint developer tools in my dev machine for woirking with SP 2013 AND VS 2012?
i am not getting the sharepoint project templates when i went to VS 2012.
so the link says that i need to connect to internet and install web platform installer 6.0.
but my machine cant connect to net .
if anyone has done the offline installation of sp 2013 project templates for VS 2012 , pls provde me the links / ways.

Project template distribution

Hi,
I made a project template that I want to use for all my projects. It includes controls, VIs and a specific archtiecture in the project view (autopopulating folders, etc...).
Is it possible to create a project template such as a VI template ?
If not, is there a way to use an installer to copy all files in a specific folder, rename a part of VI and control names, and have the project running ?

If i well understand what you want to do, you would like to create a project template and to use it for several projects. The best way for you to do that is to create your project and save it in a folder as your template project. When you will need to use this to implement a project you will just have to open it rename it and build your project.
This way is the same thing as if you had a project template.

WRL Class Library Project Template

I'm trying to check out WRL by following
this walkthrough using Visual Studio 2013. A part of the instructions has a link to this instructions
which is to create a project using the WRL class library project template. The problem is I cannot find the said project template. I saw this post

Yeah, I was basically trying to use WRL to develop a way to expose a native C++ DLL via COM so that I can use it in a C# WPF application. We're not really concerned on developing a Store App.
We've decided to try out C++/CX instead and try to use it as a wrapper for the native C++ DLL. I also, created a Window 8.1 virtual machine, so now I was able to create a Windows Runtime Component project.
Although, if anyone ever come across the same problem, using a web page history website, I was able to find this link (http://visualstudiogallery.msdn.microsoft.com/346e6fbc-6508-43c8-af7f-9a922bb57128/file/72996/2/WRLVSIXProject.vsix)
to the VSIX installer.

Queued Message Handler Project Template

Hello,
Currently prepping for CLD exam.
I was told we could use LV 2012 Professional Version. Is it OK during exam to use Project template for Queued Message Handler to generate VIs and block diagram code? Or must a QMH be generated from scratch?
I assume there will be a main VI which we must modify, but the thought was to reuse the generated template code into this VI.

This BAPI create a new PROJ_DEF, thats clear. But i want to create a new project (with WBS and networks etc.) via BAPI and this with using a existing project template (please look in CJ01), not an existingproject (CJ20N).

Won't show custom project template

Hi,
I'm trying to create the simplest possible project template, just to get an idea how it works according to directions in this document. It doesn't appear in the create project dialog. I'm probably missing something obvious, can anyone help?
The attached zip file is my <LAbVIEW data>\ProjectTemplates folder, written in LV14 64 bit. It simply has a project with one VI called Test and the metadata for it. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Danielle,
I was able to get your test template to show up in my LabVIEW by changing a couple of things around. In your XML file, I deleted the spaces in between the brackets and added in a couple of "yes" statements. I've attached the working .xml as a .txt file. I changed it around based on some of the existing .xml files that came with LabVIEW. Hope this helps. Have a good day.

If you have zip file of the project then unzip it into your project location where all projects are there .then in NWDS go to file->import->multiple existing project into workspace->browse the file where you have saved it and select the comp folder inside the project folder->click finish.Now you are able to see the webdynpro project in the webdynpro explorer.If its not appearing then go to Navigatore and right click on project and click on open project, it will open the project in webDynpro explorer.
