CK-200 poor music playback quality

Hi, I've just installed the car kit CK-200 (ISO cable version) into my car and I'm very disappointed by the music playback quality.
I have Nokia C7 with the latest firmware (14.002) and I have also updated the car kit firmware into 3.0.
There's no problem with the phone call quality - I would say it is comparable to the other car kits (for example to CK-7W I've had before), but if I want to use it for playing music, it still plays it in "phone call-like" quality. I have tried different players, but no success - still the same low quality.
If I turn the FM transmitter on and tune up the car radio to the transmitters' frequency, I get much better quality then via this car kit (although sometimes it's noisy from other broadcasting radios).
In the product description of this CK-200 they highlight very good sound quality thanks to some DSP technology - I hope there's more than this.
Do you have any idea what might be the problem here?

Hi
The CK-200 is a mono output car kit that is only designed for calls, not music.
If a handset is playing music via the mono Bluetooth channel, this is a fluke, and not part of the design of the handset.
The CK-100, 300, 600 are all stereo car kits with music capability.
The DSP settings on the CK-200 manage the voice vs background noise in the car so the driver can be heard more clearly by the other caller.

  • Poor CD playback quality with iTunes 7.2.0.35.

When I play CDs using iTunes the playback is very poor. There are popping sounds that are really annoying. There may also be a slight distortion.
The playback on Windows Media player is fine and the playback with Ubuntu (dual boot) sounds good as well.
Importing from CD works fine. The playback quality is good.
Why is iTunes CD playback quality so poor?
    Thanks,

  • IPod Touch 4G music playback quality

I recieved an Ipod Touch 4G, 64GB, for Chrismas. This is my first Apple product.
As a handheld computer/game center/web browser, I really like it. It lives up to all of my expectations in that regard. However, as a portable music player, it's leaving me a bit disappointed. I discovered the joy of lossless audio a while ago and became a borderline audiophile. I'm not really anal-retentive, but I expect a certain level of sound quality when playing lossless files.
When using iTunes on my laptop (a Dell Studio XPS 1640) to play Apple Lossless files I've ripped from CDs, the music sounds  crisp, warm, and clear. However, these same files played on the iPod sound overdriven and tinny, and all the warmth and depth of sound is gone. Bass tones sound distorted, and quite a few artists voices sound like they're singing while holding their nose. This is not just with the lossless files, but also with my 256kbps purchases from the iTunes store.
I don't have iTunes set to copy all the files to the iPod as 128kbps, and I used the same Sennheiser MX-160 earbuds on the laptop as I did on the iPod. I'm currently going through some of the higher-rated equalizer apps in the AppStore to try to solve the problem, but none have been able to make the iPod match my laptop. I have also tried the iPod's built-in EQ settings, but those only took the already-poor audio quality and made it varying degrees of worse.
As I've said before, overall, I really like the iPod Touch. I'd like to keep using it. However, what's the point in having an iPod if it doesn't fulfill it's primary function, that of a portable music player.
    Thanks for any answers.

There is really no solution since the Cirrus Logic CS42L61 audio chipset that the ipod touch uses can only deliver a certain sound quality which is not that great. Apps may help to improve the sound quality by offering more equalizer options, however that cannot overcome for the lacking chipset. For exceptional sound there are other options on the market which are geared towards audiophiles and other listeners.

  • HT204370 poor music video quality

I have downloaded several itunes music videos, but so far I have been very disappointed. They have all been a poor quality on the computer monitor, ipad and ipod, the audio is too quiet to even hear properly in one!
Yesterday I downloaded PON PON PON by Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and the quality of the video is terrible. It is hazy, unclear and the colour is faded. The sound is not great either.
I was wondering if there was a way for me to improve the quality or if this is just the regular quality of videos from itunes? If so, I would be better to watch it on youtube, it has a far better quality even if it does buffer.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I have the same problem, the colour and quality of the Pon Pon Pon video is absolutely horrendous. Did you find a resolution to this problem?

  • Poor iTunes Playback Quality (Stuttering/Scratching)

    Hi everyone,
I've been using iTunes for a long time (a couple years I think), and I just started having this problem. Basically, sometimes (not always) the quality of the sound of the songs that I am listening to will suddenly become horrible. It'll stutter and have weird, static-like noises in the background, and although the song will be discernible, it's not really a lot of fun to listen to.
The songs I've been listening to lately that have had this problem all used to work properly (a couple days ago), but then all of a sudden yesterday this started happening. I think that all of the songs on my computer are susceptible, and I have had problems with listening to music in other, non-Apple products that I have tried briefly, too (e.g., WinAMP.) And of course, even if it was just iTunes, I prefer it over other music programs , so I would hate to have to switch either way.
I notice one thing that makes the problem much worse is if I open Windows Media player.
I also have one other idea about what could have caused it...I program in C++ somewhat often (I'm a computer science major in college), and I had one program that I was working on that had a lot of null pointer errors and other such problems relating to pointers...could it be that I have somehow messed up (or failed to deallocate) some of the memory of my computer and that it doesn't have the resources to run iTunes? (A lot of other things on my computer have seemed to be running more slowly...could it be a virus? I have anti-virus software....)
Oh, also, I did read through all the articles I could find on this subject in the help database. I upgraded to the latest version of iTunes and QuickTime, and changed the QuickTime settings to waveOut only. I also restarted my computer a few times since the problem started, ran SpyBot Search and Destroy, and tried to update my drivers (although I couldn't figure out how to do that, the instructions provided on the site didn't seem to work.)
Anyway, I'm stumped. Any help anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

Ok, thanks for the suggestion...I actually read what you wrote to another poster and started running an ewido scan about half an hour ago, haha. It's still running actually...about 2/3 of the way done.
And yes I've seen that article, and I tried everything there except for the drivers stuff.
So far it has found about 273 things on my computer, which is interesting because I had just run SpyBot. I guess ewido covers some territory that SpyBot does not eh? Thanks for the tip, I'll have to add ewido to my arsenal of virus-fighting software .
Thanks for all the help, I'll post again after the scan is finished if I have more problems.

  • Poor DVD playback quality

Hi, I have an iBook G3 500 MHz w/ 256 MB Ram and a DVD-Rom. The drive will accept a CD or DVD fine, but when the program DVD Player opens to play the DVD, I just get a large black window on the screen. If I stop the playback, it will go to the title menu and sit there. If I use VLC to view the DVD, it will play the movie, but seems to be a bit skitterish. The OS is a new install of 10.3.9 BTW. Also, the sound doesn't work properly on the iBook with any application (the built in speakers). I tried an external set of speakers and they work fine, and also swapped out the built in speakers with a known good set and still nothing. Perhaps the two are related? I searched the archives and couldn't find any related threads..
Thanks in advance to all those who offer advice.
    ...Tom

Does the iBook still have its OS 9 startup volume? Go to System Preferences > Startup Disk and see if OS 9 is available. If it is, select it and start up in OS 9 and see if the speaker problem exists there, also. If so, it points to a hardware issue.
As for the DVD problems, try closing all other applications when trying to watch a DVD. Maximizing the RAM with a 512 MB RAM module may help. With the limited RAM, DVD's may play better in OS 9, as well.
How big is the hard drive and how much space remains available on it?

  • Symplayer vs N5800 Music Sound Quality

I recently installed Telexy Symplayer on my N5800 and was startled by a percieved improvement in (local) music playback quality. While it is tricky adjusting respective levels, my ears tell me the sound from Symplayer is cleaner, clearer, more spacious and more dynamic. In short, sounds great.  Leads me to think the in-built music player software compresses the sound before out-put. I haven't tried other music playing software but I am interested if others have noticed this. On the other hand I really can't get Symplayer to find music on my wireless network.... Just get error messages, whatever account I set up.

When using phone to access MP3 files over network, you have to use the latest SymPlayer version downloaded directly from www.telexy.com and make sure that at least one shared folder is correctly configured on a network computer.

  • Music audio quality compared on N8 vs. 5800 etc

Hi, I have looked at the stats regarding audio quality for the N8 compared with the 5800 (which I have) and I see mainly some differences in cross talk... Has anyone done a listening comparison on the audio output for music on these phones and perhaps any of the other Nokia media playing phones compared with these two?  I am mainly interested in the headphone output but will also use it direct to a hi-fi amp. Thanks Paul.
ps. Would be nice to have an app for controlling windows media players wirelessly a bit like the sonos app for iphone/android but I don't think there is such a thing???

I had a quick search for an app like that on the OVI store but i cant see anything that looks good, but there may be some 3rd party ones out there that could work. just be wary of scammers.
As for the quality, i have used both these models for music playback and i cant see any difference in quality apart from the quality of the MP3 or song your using. Hope that helps

  • Problems with playback quality of animated DVD on television

I'm sending a ~20 minute (uncompressed, millions of colors) animation in QuickTime out of Final Cut Express HD in a format of HD-1080i and trying to get a very high resolution DVD for television (HD TV). Before taking the QuickTime video to any DVD writing software the aspect ratio (16:9) is correct and resolution is immaculate.
However, all my efforts to get a super-high resolution DVD of this animation, whether I go through iMovie or only to iDVD have gotten me a lot of written and wasted DVDs in my tests. The resolution is very poor.
    QUESTION:
How do I get a very complex animation that requires very intense color and clarity to a DVD for playback on a HD TV using my software? In my arsenal is Final Cut Express-HD vers. 3, iLIfe '06 incl. iMovie and iDVD, Toast (if needed).
    Please advise.

HHHMMM….. where to start. First, you can’t possibly
hold yourself to commercial quality unless you have a
    commercial budget.
I don't expect commercial quality - just to be able to display the millions of colors and the extreme clarity on any TV and even better still on a HDTV. So far I only can get the quality I seek on a computer display. All my efforts to find a solution for television playback have resulted in a fuzzy and jerky animated feature. Here again I'm not looking for commercial quality - just clear, crisp and smooth.
    Hollywood spends millions on
feature films. Compression hardware alone can run
several thousands if not hundreds of thousands of
dollars. Compared to iDVD included in a $79 software
suite? However, even the Hollywood produced DVDs must
rely on the DVD specification and as such, 1080i is
currently lost on them. So your answer to “isn’t iDVD
supposed to write anything I give it” is that if iDVD
takes your QT file (Which BTW, should be in the DV
format) it WILL compress it to a DVD MPEG 2 compliant
    file. This means 720x480.
But I don't want any compression other than the final step MPEG2. And after reading this reply today - THANK YOU - THANK YOU - I at least understand now that I can't even use iDVD because it doesn't offer MPEG2 as a compressor.
I have located a mpeg2 encoder program that is shareware and will try to find a formule to use after iMovie HD additions of themes and chapters.
So the first step to take
is to recognize the limitations of equipment and
understand the standards. So now we should examine
the workflow to see if there is anything that can be
done. Other than knowing what Flash is, I don’t know
much about it. Can you select a frame size for doing
your animations? If so, guess what, use the 720x480
frame size. This is what iDVD is going to make it
(again, FCP may offer more options to you but that
    isn’t listed in your arsenal).
Final Cut Pro isn't needed for what I'm doing, is it? I have already gotten exquisite playback quality for computers using FCE HD and I'm now trying to get the playback quality on a TV as good as I can get it.
    Next, from within FCE,
do not change the settings when exporting via QT. You
want to export it as it is in FCE, you don’t want to
change it. iDVD is expecting a DV file. Any other
file and quality will likely take a hit. Finally, why
DVDs? Flash is typically web based. And computer
monitors have a much higher resolution than a TV.
Flash is generally web based but it can be used to produce a single QuickTime movie if the elements are primarily drawings as my animated feature is. Then on to Final Cut Express all of my imported clips are in QuickTime and thus are already compresssed by QuickTime's excellent compressor. I found that I do not get a good result if I allow any further compression - at least not on computer displays - as long as I export with QT conversion, compression none, millions of colors and specify the size I want it to maintain.
    You
could output your Files and serve them up via a data
DVD to be played on a computer. Just curious.
I am already getting excellent playback quality on computers but now I need playback quality on any television because it is not intended only for computers.
    Mike
Thanks Mike. You've already been a help in getting me away from iDVD for this project. iMovie may be OK still because its "HD". Got any more suggestions for my situation?

  • Skipping/Stuttering on music playback

Since upgrading to iTunes 6, music playback has become completely unusable -- everything I play stutters or skips repepepepeeatedly. I've set Quicktime to safe, checked my drivers, defragged by disk, all to no effect. I don't want to abandon iTunes for playback (not least because it will take hours to change all the .AAC files to .MP3, and I'll lose everything I've bought from the music store). How do I fix this -- failing all else, is it possible to go back to version 5, which worked fine?

I've managed to solve this by winding down the
"Sample Rate Conversion Quality" under "Advanced
Audio Properties" (Control Panel | Sounds and Audio
Device Settings | Volume | Advanced) to its lowest
setting ("Good"!). I don't know what that actually
does, but the audio quality still seems fine to me,
    and no stuttering.
What that actually does is force KMixer to use linear interpolation in its resampling instead of high-end multipoint interpolation.
If you don't get that, then what it does on most machines is to make the audio sound like total crap.
Hey, if it works for you, then it works for you, but I would only consider this to be a last resort. The fact that this actually worked for you tends to indicate that you either have a crap soundcard, or that you have crap drivers for your crap soundcard. Updating your audio drivers might be beneficial, and replacing the soundcard with one that doesn't require KMixer to resample normal 44.1khz input would definitely be beneficial.

  • TV Anywhere poor video capture quality

I have a Celeron 1.7, 20 and 60 gig hd at 7200 rpm, 512M of ram. My capture is of very poor quality. I have used the MSI software and also Virtual Dub. Still poor video capture quality. Anyone tell me what I can do or how to do this right?

If you use a compressing codec in real time, you need lotsa CPU.
Try using a lossless codec such as Huffyuv (you'll need lotsa disk) for the real time capture and then compress afterwards.

  • Front Row/music playback issue

    Hi all,
I have a rather large music library in iTunes and I have my Mac Mini attached to my stereo and TV. I use Front Row for music playback. Recently, I have been having trouble as the music will "stall" randomly or "freeze" for a couple seconds, then resume playing. Very annoying.
I've noticed that this problem does not seem to happen if I select the music from iTunes without Front Row running or if I use FR to select the music, then back out of FR with the little remote.
Anyway, I prefer to keep FR running. I've seen LOTS of articles and posts regarding video freezing with FR, but not music. Anyone know what's wrong?
    Thanks!

I have the same problem on my macmini. :/
And I too like to leave Front Row playing songs while I do other thing in my house.
It hangs in almost every song now, it never did that before. I wonder if it's this iTunes update...
Is there someone else with the same problem, or someone that could help us solve that?

  • Keynote Sync problems with music Playback

    Dear Keynote Experts,
after long trying I can´t fix this problem.
I want to synchronize Pictures with 4s duration. This shall run in sync with a music playback which is 120 bpm. So it would be in Sync with the progression of the beats. At least the pictures don´t run smooth in my case during the presentation. I checkes the timing with a watch the and it seems as if the single pictures move in unequal durations. Weird?
I tried an Update of Quicktime and tested the whole thing with a new Keynote document only programmed for this syncing purpose. No success...
Maybe help lies in the intelligent animation tool or something like this which would help, otherwise it should be no great deal, to have the Pages properly changed each 4s.
Thanks for your help in advance.
    All the best

    Hi Kelly,
    after a while...
yeah I do it like this. I record the whole thing with screenflow, as Kenote does a good resolution full screen.
I would like to export certain sections of my full grouped objects Image. I can refit it on a smaller paper size record this cutout full screen with Screenflow in high resolution, so far so good - but:
The problem is, when I use smaller paper sizes, the whole Object gets automatically scaled and  the relations of the grouped Object are lost. Is ist possible to keep the absolute values  of the objects (1cm stays 1 cm) when I switch to different sizes of the paper.
    Thanks for your answer...
    Best wishes

  • Does the Iphone 3G support music playback via a bluetooth headset?

    Hi All,
Does the Iphine 3g support music playback via a bluetooth headset at all, I suspect not...

It's been on many a user's requested feature list since the first iPhone, and people were disappointed when it didn't show up on the 3G. The adaptor he links to will get the job done.
I have to admit I've demoed a couple of bluetooth stereo headsets, and the music sounded awful. Perhaps it's improved, but for this reason it's not a feature I've personally wished was included.
