CKF in bps_wb (Web Interface)

Hey All-
I know with Enhanced layouts you can create calculated key figures based off of exsisting measures that you have in your planning area. I'm using Web Interface (bps_wb) and I don't see where I can create CKF. Is this even possible with Web Interface?

Hi,
in Web Interfaces you cannot use any CKF's; this works only in web templates or workbooks based on the Integrated Planning.
But you can use calculations (but only summation) in the layout customizing of BPS.

SEM-BPS 6.0 BPS_WB generate Web Interface BSP

Hi all,
We recently had a redirect of the portal connected to our NW04S BW development system and had worked thorugh the issues on the portal side so existing Iviews works (SEM-BPS 6.0).
We are now creating some new iview for a new applications but I cannot generate the BSP page. BPS_WB say that the BSP was generated correctly but when I try to test it, it says that http entry is missing and would I like to add it and when I say I do, it fails since I cannot generate a node under SICF since I do not have the authorization. I did an SU53 check and asked for 01 create on S_ICF_ADM but getting a lot of questions since 01 on S_ICF_ADM is reserved for Basis only on this project.
Another thing we are also concerned with is that some system settings that need to be done on the BW side might now have been done although Basis said all entries are changed..
I have to admit that the last time I worked with someone to set up portal connection to BPS was back in 2003 so I have to dig pretty deep into my memory and had been doing some quick searches but have not found anything obvious yet that would solve the regeneration issue except for the authorization addition which they are very hesitant about.
Any information or thoughts on this issue / problem would be appreciated.

I still work on BCS, so dont have BPS here. What I can do is to give you a summary of those things I had done in the past. Maybe it helps?
I gues you know that there are 2 diffren types of nodes: System nodes to enable connection to the web and the node for each web interface.
The required system nodes are describes in OSS 517484. I guess you have released them? Since BW Release 3.5 the web interface works with HTMLB. I guess you have activated thise too?`So the last possibility is from my point of view the web interface itself.
The node for the web interface existis already?
/default_host/sap/bc/bsp/sap/<your_web_interface>
In develop system the web interfaces will be activated manually normally. But in Prod automaticall because of not allowed customising. If the web interface has created such an entry already I think the only chance is to give the web interface another name in Development system - or to delete the existing node in the prod system (dangerous).
If this is not your problem, maybe another consultant has an idea?

BPS_WB-Can i add a query to a Web interface tabpage?

Dear experts,
In a BPS web interface application, i have already a tab page which allows users to input their data. Now i would like to add a second tabpage which allows to display the existing data.
Is that possible to link a BEX query to a Tabpage BPS web interface application? I would like that the query is launched and the result is displayed each time an user click on this tabpage.

Variable Selection For User in Web Interface for BPS

Hi All,
I've created a manual Input sheet in BPS0 to upload target sales. User need to select the month, plant and then enter the target amount for each category. Its working fine.
Now I need to create web interface for user to upload the data every month. Using BPS_WB I've created the interface (with help of Wizard). I'm getting the input sheet. But I'm not able to get screen where user can select the parameters?
How to get this? It should work like web report, where user select the report variables then execute. Only difference here is user will have to enter the data for selected variable.

Open Bex workbook from BPS web interface,How hard it could be?

    I want to add a link or function-button in my BPS web interface,hope it could open a query(excel analyser),I tried 2 methods as follow:
   1. MIME , It can only open a static excel file, not a analyser query. I gave up this method.
   2. I use the program RRMX_START_EXCEL and add a plan function which is a EXIT in BPS0,in my EXIT function I used some code in RRMX_START_EXCEL,I test it in BPS0 ,it works ,it can open a analyser excel query.But when I put this plan function(including a parameter group ) in BPS_WB ,when I click the function-button in web interface, it crashed,says:
Error when processing your request
What has happened?
The URL http://bw1.:8000/sap/bc/bsp/sap/zwebcaxa001_998/page1.htm was not called due to an error.
The termination type was: TH_RES_FREE
and some other Error infomation,
Is it possible to realize my requirement? or Web interface and analyzer are just 2 total differrent things ,it is not possible to realize this?

Hi Denny,
Have a look at www.javascript.internet.com and do a search for "whatfile".....
This should give you the javascript code whereyou can enter a file name (say an excel file name) and click a button to navigate to it.
Although I have not tried exactly what you have asked, I have successfully used parts of this code to open specified files (excel files) on our local directory from a BPS planning web page.
Obviously you will need to adapt the code to your specific evironment/situation...

In my project we are creating web interface. The steps are as below:
1) Run transaction code upspm and copy the planning folder
2) Save the planning folder as web enabled planning folder
3) Generate web interface for step 2. Here I have to provide following details:
Name of planning folder
Web Application
Package
I have to create Web Application whose name should include _ like ztest_test
The system is not allowing me to create web application whose name includes _
Can you please how I can create web application whose name includes _
I am not allowed to use the wizard or manual method to create web interface.

U can use the transaction BPS_WB to create u r web interface builder and for execute check another transaction BPS_wef (check once).
UPSPM for planning folder not for web interface builder.

Web Interface Transport

Hi,
I have a problem transporting the web interfaces. I have a request attached to the web interfaces in the development box and it's under a transportable package. When I move it to QA client, the web interfaces don't work and it seems like they need to be generated there. When I try to generate it in QA, I get an error message like this :
System setting does not allow changes to be made to object WAPA Z700UPSZCPTACTL
Am I doing something wrong? What is the regular way of trasporting the web interfaces?

Hi Baris,
the steps to do are in my opinion:
1. Create WIF with TA BPS_WB and assign it to a transportable package
2. Generate your WIF and assign it to a transport request
3. Go to TA SICF and activate the service of your created WIF
4. After activation of the corresponding service in TA SICF use the menu Goto-->Object Directory Entry(also in SICF) and assign this service to the correct package
5. Assign this to your transport request
6. Transport of all requests
Maybe it is possible that you have to activate the service in your target system after transport..

Facing problem in transportation of web Interface

Hi BPS Experts,
I am facing problem in transporting the web interface.
As part of one enhancement I have made some changes to one of the objects in web Interface in Integration system. Before doing transportation to consolidation, generated the new BSP application as well as saved the customized changes under one request for transport.
Used the request number for Transporting to consolidation. The Layout in the consolidation is displaying error message as follows
*Error with initialization or error on BSP*
Component with name Group_Selection1 does not exist
BSP application ZEBSP08_RF does not exist. Regenerate
and when i check the web interface under BPS_WB transaction in consolidation. i able to see the change in objects which i made in integration.
Please help in solving this problem in Layout.

Create the same function group and send it into test system with another TR.
Once it get transported to test system, try to activate FM & FG.

Web Interface - how to make the heading of the page bold and underlined

Hi EXperts,
I have created web interface. For this I have done like this:
1) Types bps_wb transaction code
2) I have clicked on Web Interface --> Create
3) I have checked check boxes to create save pushbutton, exit button etc.
4) Then I clicked on create button
5) After that I generated the application
6) Then I clicked on Display Perview button. I can see that Page 1 is getting displayed on top left side.
7) I want to align this header text 'Page 1' in central position in page. I also want to underline it. How I can do so?

Web interface layout u2013 Standard refresh button

Hi there
In our web interface layout, we have got a button which has the label <%=otr(UPWB/REFRESH)%> .
This looks to me the standard Refresh button. When we click on this button it actually save the data in the database.
Is that what the refresh button suppose to do.
Any suggestion/advise will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Sarah,
it seems that the wrong OTR text was assigned to the 'save' button. <%=otr(UPWB/REFRESH)%> belongs to the submit button that only sumits the data to the server to update the plan buffer. So check in transaction bps_wb whether the correct button was used in the web interface.

Web Interfaces Running Through Portal - Tab Spacing

When a web interface is created in BPS_WB and run through BPS_WIF0, tabs and spacing are correct. When the web interface runs through the portal, the spacing on the tabs is off. Tab 1 is perfect, Tab 2 has one blank line /space before the functions / layouts, Tab 3 has 3 blank lines. How do I resolve this? Is it a template issue on the portal versus BPS_WIF0? I have tried playing with the spacing to no avail.

Hi Subhasini,
You do that via transaction bps_wb, you configure your web application there by means of selecting, text elemnts, tabstips etc and than assigning your planning parameters such as planning level and planning layout to those elments.....

Style display problem in Web Interface Builder (OWC)

Hi,
I wanted to create my own styles for my BPS Planning Layouts and then
use it in the Web Interface Builder on Office Web Components.
Step 1 : I saved a Planning Layout in my hard disk.
Step 2 : I created my styles as explained in the SEM BPS help notes (->
Format, Styles ) and saved it in Excel.
Step 3 : I used UPP_MASTER_CHECKIN in tn se38 and then
UPP_LAYOUTS_UPDATE_WITH_MASTER in order to apply the master template in
all my layouts.
Step 4 : I put my styles in all my layouts in the BPS0 (for Lead
Columns, Head Datas and Data Columns).
Step 5 : Once I generated my layouts in the BPS0, the result was what I
expected : the styles were right and at the good place. I checked
publish for the WEB for all the layouts that needed it.
Step 6 : I created a Web Interface with BPS_WB using my layouts as
Office Web Components (Web Excel : true)
Step 7 : I generate my Web Page
And when I look at my layouts the styles disappeared....
However if I modify the Standard Styles (SEM-BPS-headata or SEM-BPS-
sub1 for example)and put them in my layouts then it works !!!! The
modified styles appear in the Web Interface Builder.
I do not understand why it works with the standard styles and not if I
create and put my own. Did I something wrong or missed a step or is a problem with SEM BPS ????

Sorry that note say :
Styles. Consequently no changes to the SAP standard styles are taken over to the OWC
I try fix that problem too, go check new design in BW-BPS.

Web Interface - "Execute function before displaying the layout" issue

Hi Experts,
In my project we have converted some BPS planning folder to Web interface. The steps are as below:
1) Open the BPS planning folder using upspm. Copy the web interface as Web Enabled folder.
2) Generate the web interface by clicking on go to --> Generate web interface
3) Run transaction bps_wb. Open the web interface. Then generate web interface again
4) Run the web interface by clicking on 'Display perview'
5) In the web interface there are some some functions which get executed before displaying the layout.
6) For such functions, push button gets created.
7) I have set the visible property of such push button as false.
8) Most of the time, when I am running the web interface, it
is getting executed successfully.
9) Some times, the web interface is not displaying the layouts successfully.In such cases I have observed that "Execute function before displaying the layout" is not working. Due to this some values like Fiscal Year is not getting set. So, the layout is not getting displayed.
10) I understand that it may be due to compilation error.
For example, I might have made some changes in the web interface. It must be saved and web interface must be regenerated before I diplay the interface again. Can you please help me in understanding the reason of this problem.
11) Can you please help me understand the cause of point no 9. Is it a non-issue? What may be the reason that "Execute function before displaying the layout" does not work every time.

Will a function that runs, before the data gets saved, work for you? You can configure such a function to run before the save command behind the save button you create in the planning application.
