Clamshell digital picture project/problem the computer sleepy !!
Hello friends it is my first post to the board. Not sure if it the right place. I am in a mess with my old clamshell ibook ( firewire, DVD-Rom, 366mhz , macOs 9.2) which I took apart to make a digital picture display. The disassembly was easy as per help from Fixit guide. Now I have put together the unit to get it into the box for display, but when I turn on the computer the unit turns on and I see that desktop with hard drive and the curser which is accessible but the computer goes to sleep within 15-20 seconds. touching any key brings it back but only to go back to sleep mode again. Playing with the curser does not keep it awake!
The computer worked perfectly before I disassembled it. It seems that the sleep button is somehow gone into a loop. Or something to do with hinges/cables that I took apart during disassembly. i did try to be careful in keeping the parts together and took pictures to guide me. I would appreciate any thoughts or help that anyone can provide.

This just an addition to my last evening's post. I was able to start the computer with the original CD. The finder and the desktop works for a little longer approx.40-45 secs and the sleep mode takes over again. Subsequent wake up periods from sleep which occurs easily does not last any longer that few secs. Any ideas as to whether it is software or hardware based problem.

I bought a movie with the digital copy and it gives me option to redeem it with iTunes, but when I type in the redeem code it shows a message saying: " you must insert your digital copy dvd in this computer in order to redeem this code" . The dvd is in. WTH? This is especially with FOX movies, I never have trouble with Universal Picture movies.
Thanks for your reply, but you might have misunderstood it a bit. I'm NOT trying to buy a movie. ****, I'm not even in the actual Apple Store, when this happens I'm in the library not the Store part of iTunes.
To clarify - I have purchased a physical copy of a movie which came with another physical copy which contains the digital copy. The digital copy is on the DVD, all I need is just to transfer this file to my iPod Touch, for example, I'm not trying to download it from the store or repurchase it and it's not any gift code that I've received, the digital copy is on the disc. This is the first time ever that I've purchased something on a disc and I'm not allowed to access it because the disc hasn't been purchased within my country.
So again - I'm not attempting any purchase or download any purchased digital copy - it's on a DVD I own physically so... why is even the region of my Store relevant, the code I enter is (as I assume) just supposed to check if it's a legal genuine copy (which it is, as I've said - there are 6 discs in the pack: 3 movies on 3 Blu-rays and 3 DVD containing these digital copies of them). If I own it, I think that's proof enough that I have the right to use it. I just don't get it. I fully agree with you and understand your point if there was any purchase going on here, but it's not, it's just - I put a disc into my computer and I can't access it -

You may need to update command w32tm /config /syncfromflags:domhier /update, to change the IntranetServer w32time type to nt5ds (this sets the service to pull from the AD).

Is there an app that will act as a digital picture frame ( slide show ) when in screen saver mode? IOS7 no longer has this feature.this is very upsetting as it is one of the main reasons I bought an iPad for my store.
You still have the option of using the slideshow feature in the Photos app. It's not in the lock screen anymore, but it is stll available there.

Deleting pictures/clean up the computer to get GB free
I have deleted all photos from Iphoto, all files under the FINDER, that I have added, movies, music, documents etc. HOWEVER, when I go under the APPLE in the top left hand corner, to look how my memory is looking, it still shows that I have like 6000+ plus pictures etc. Why doesnt it registre it OR what am I doing wrong, where to I still need to delete them from?
I hope that YOU can help me. I cant put anything on my com, because of lack om space :-(Empty the iPhoto trash from within iPhoto. It has a seperate trash bin.

I have been having problems with the thumbnail pictures in iPhoto. It will typically show 1 picture for all thumbnails. I have figured out how to repair the thumbnail pictures, but everytime the computer is shut down, the thumbnail pics revert back to 1 picture for all.
With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a potential solution. We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
how do you fix the thumbnailsd?
what other fixes have you tried?
where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

Go to Solution.When this situation occurs, the Reader™ Digital Book will not appear in the software or the software may shut down when connecting the Reader Digital Book to the computer. Follow these steps to resolve this problem:
NOTE: Because each of these steps represents a possible solution to this problem, open the Reader software and connect the Reader Digital Book to the computer after completing each step.
Make sure you that you are using the Reader for PC or Reader for Mac software.
NOTE: These models are not compatible with the Reader Library software.
When you connect your Reader Digital Book to the computer, depending on your model, do the following:
PRS-T1: In the USB connected screen, make sure you tap the Data Transfer Mode icon so that your Reader goes into Data Transfer Mode.
PRS-T2: In the Do you want the computer to recognize this device screen, make sure you tap Yes so that your Reader is recognized correctly.
If the problem persists, close the software, re-open it, and then check the connection status again.
Verify that the Reader Digital Book battery has an adequate charge.
NOTE: If the battery is discharged, allow the battery to charge for at least one hour before attempting to connect the Reader Digital Book to the software.
Verify that the Reader Digital Book is turned on and is not locked.
Verify that the USB cable is properly and securely connected to the Reader Digital Book and the computer.
NOTE: The USB cable should be connected directly to the computer. Connecting the Reader Digital Book using a USB hub or extension cable is not supported.
Verify that the Reader Digital Book displays the USB connection indicator in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Remove any Memory Stick® media or SD media in the Reader Digital Book.
Disconnect any other USB Device except for your Keyboard, Mouse or Wireless USB transmitter.
With the Reader Digital Book connected to the computer, uninstall the USB driver.
After you uninstall the driver, disconnect and then reconnect the Reader Digital Book back to the computer, allow a few moments for the driver to reinstall and then check the status.
If the problem still happens, turn off your Reader digital book and do a Hard Reset.
IMPORTANT: After doing a Hard Reset, it will be necessary to authorize your unit again.
If possible, install the Reader software on a different computer and connect the Reader Digital Book to test.
The troubleshooting steps listed above should resolve your issue. If you have completed all of the steps and the issue is not resolved, service may be required. -
Difficulty displaying CS4 and CS5 modified pics on a digital picture frame
Any pic I mod with CS4 or CS5 no longer displays on my digital picture frame!
The originals display fine.
Modified ones are rejected as an unsupported format.
Any clues?

BillThe mods can be as simple as resizing.
The files are always saved as JPG.
The problem only started within the last few months as "older" pics display fine.
It occurs on my desktop (vista) as well as my laptop (windows7)

IMac i7 27" from 2007 - digital picture errors while booting

Since yesterday I have got some strange effects on my iMac.
While starting:
immediatly after turing on the iMac I get blue stripes on my Screen.
When the Apple Logo shows up, i have digital picture errors over the full screnn.
After this screen nothing happens anymore, it stays stuck and theres no login possible anymore.
Can anyone help me with this problem?

I am always prompted to Trust the Computer by my iPhone 4S, but still my iTunes will not sync. I have Windows 8. All of my pictures transfer to the computer when I plug my phone in, but not the iTunes. My playlists and purchased songs are not syncing either from the computer to the phone, or from the phone to the computer. I have been working on this for days and have tried every suggestion in Help
you just need to call the apple support or just book an appointment at the genus bar at your nearest apple store.

Can a digital camera (still) show a picture on the computer monitor?
Is there a way to put the digital camera picture on your monitor prior to snapping the picture and downloading it to the computer? I need to take pictures of machinery in odd places that I cannot get my head behind the camera to see how the framing is. I was hoping to be able to make it work like on a TV screen. The iMac monitor is so much clearer.
Not that I'm aware of. Will your camera output to a TV monitor through the viewfinder? If so then I guess you could but you'd need something that would either be Firewire or USB to interface from your cameras' output to the iMac. That's not really a problem but it's rather expensive just to do what you want.
Some cameras do support "remote control" though which is more along the lines of what your wanting. Problem with that is your camera would have to support it and it's usually expensive D-SLR's that photographers use in situations like yours or where they need a "preview" before shooting. -

Problem: While creating a project in iDVD, it plays perfectly on the computer, but after burning the sound is off. Video soundtrack is not in the right place. HELP!

When I download my Final Cut pro project onto a DVD about 3-4 photos are continually repeated throught the presentation. If I play back via the computer this does not happen. It is the same photos repeated. I have taken loop off from view. Any assistance ?
I have two projects one with DVD and photos and the other just photos. The DVD is 20 mins and the photos just 8 mins.
I have tried to burn from the share dropdown menu ( DVD ) in FCXP and also tried download to media browser then used DVD creator to produce the DVD but the problem exists with both actions. I deleted the repeated photos from the presentation but another 3-4 different photos repeat. I hope this makes some sense .
