Clarification: Bridge comes with Photoshop?

I went to purchase Bridge but could not find it, does it just come with Photoshop when you purchase or upgrade?

I think the problem is actually in Bridge>Prefrences>Startup Scripts.
There I have the option to allow applications to communicate with CS 6 (otherwise Image Processor wont work) but not CC.
Is it possible to insert a PS CC 2014 Startup Script in there? Where would I find it and where would I put it?

Question from a Customer…"Does Bridge come with Photoshop if I buy the CC single app?"

Actually whether you consider the Suite a unified concept or not, if you are using a variety of Adobe products Bridge does the job well. Here's a great testimonial of what it does according to one user:
Bridge is the coordinating hub of the Creative Suite. Synchronizing color management settings for all suite programs is done from Bridge, and can only be done from Bridge, to take one important use.
Bridge displays actual thumbnails of many more file types than Finder or Explorer. It also allows instant play of sound or video files more readily than the native OS file managers.
Bridge allows direct access to file metadata, to embed copyright information and keywords where appropriate (e.g., for corporate logo vector and raster files). It also displays the fonts used in an InDesign file, the swatches in an INDD or AI and the output plates (including spot color plates) they use.
When managing the assets for a design project, Bridge allows quick and simple sorting, rating and custom labeling (with color flash indications) of assets. I can rate images according to whether they are rejects, possibles, for review by client, or approved. The filters built into Bridge allow instant isolation of only the approved images or designs in a folder, only the rejects (for deletion) or only files with certain ratings, no matter how many files it contains. It recognizes aspect ratios, so if I only need a landscape or a 16:9 image in a folder of hundreds of images, I turn off the aspect ratios I don't need.
Once filtered, the remaining visible files can be selected and copied, moved, or deleted without affecting the rest of the contents of a folder.
Collections are a massively useful feature. One of my clients is a performing arts center, and in a season we turn out dozens of ads, flyers, brochures, web banners, playbills, billboards and other collateral using the same assets over and over. These assets are organized by artist and/or show on disk, but I set up each season's repeating assets as a Collection in Bridge, so that I just have to open the collection and drag and drop these assets into new INDD, AI, PSD, HTML (in Dreamweaver), FLA or AE projects without having to navigate from folder to folder picking up individual files.
Bridge's Favorites is another place I stack frequently-accessed folders, such as stock photography, backgrounds, and top-level folders for active projects.
Assets can be divided into subfolders, but a quick toggle of "Show items from subfolders" exposes all of the assets in a single view while maintaining their organization. I will typically keep AIs, PSDs, EPSs, stock photography and client images in separate subfolders within a project. When I'm ready to start pulling assets into an InDesign layout, I toggle this on and simply drag what I need into the layout.
Bridge comes with Adobe Camera Raw built in, which is many times faster than using Photoshop to adjust jpegs or tiffs for things like tonal range, white balance, cropping, spotting and sharpening, and is non-destructive.
One tremendously useful Bridge function for InDesign CS5+ users is the "Show linked files" feature, which opens all the linked files in a layout into a single view, regardless of where they are physically located. I often use this when doing alternative layouts from a client-approved mockup for a campaign, to be certain the same assets are used in each piece, or when creating a motion graphic or interactive piece for the campaign in After Effects or Flash.
The batch and image processing scripts built into Bridge automate things like creating web-ready small jpegs from multiple images, renaming large numbers of files in place or by copying to an alternative location, creating sets of PSD, png, jpeg or other file types from an assortment of image files, and so on.
Bridge is so much a part of my daily workflow that on my main workstation I have one monitor dedicated to it almost 100%. Bridge just sits open 24/7, ready for use. I would run at half speed without it, no question.
Not bad for an old file browser.

  • Does bridge come with photoshop with the new cloud version?

  • Closing Bridge CC with Photoshop CC

Why doesn't Bridge CC close with Photoshop CC as Bridge closes with Photoshop CS6?  When I close Photoshop CC I now have to also close Bridge CC - just another steip but I'd like it to close automatically with Photoshop CC.  Thanks

To explain a bit more because I think you are confusing some things: PS CS6 uses Bridge CS6 and PSCC uses Bridge CC. Bridge is version specific and uses dedicated start up scripts per version.
In CS5 (I believe, can't check myself) there was an option bar with a bridge icon to start Bridge from PS. The command 'Browse in Bridge' in PS file menu has been there as long as I can remember. It either switches to the Bridge application itself or if it was not active already this starts Bridge also.
While you can have multiple versions of Bridge installed on your systems you can have only version active and open at the time. Yet you are able to have both PSCS6 and PSCC open and working as you can with other Adobe apps like LR (e.g. both LR4 and LR5 can open and active at the same time) yet Bridge allows you to have only one version open.
I don't know why this is (can't think of a valid reason other then 'as designed') but it is a fact. You can try your self, have Bridge CC open and try to start BridgeCS6, the focus switches to the already open Bridge CC
MiniBridge is a panel in PS designed for a shortcut to Bridge itself so you don't need to switch between applications to reach your content. However the panel only works when Bridge itself is also active. MInd you, CS6 connects with BridgeCS6 and so on.
It works more or less like the other panels, you can change its size and location (dock it to others or use it floating) like you can with panels like layers, history etc. You can also create your own workspace with or without the MB panel. Like other panels you can select it in the PS menu Window, only it is under the submenu 'extensions'.
Mini Bridge could be a great feature but they screwed it in CS5 and beyond, it is hard to use nowadays (only as a floating panel you can have multiple rows and columns for the thumbs to name an important flaw). If you want to use the combination of LR, Bridge and PS for your own reasons then I would suggest to start with LR and export those files to a particular folder.
Then open Bridge to point it to this folder and take a few moments to let Bridge cache its content. Meanwhile create a collection of those files (select them all, click on the new collection button in the collection panel and name it properly.
Then in PS open MB panel and choose collections and select your newly saved collection name. just my 2 cts btw

  • What comes with Photoshop CC?

What software comes included with Photoshop CC if I purchase the individual app?
Does it include Bridge, Distiller, Illustrator?
    Thanks!

    Hi ahawthornephils,
The Photoshop single-app plans (both annual and month to month) include:
Full versions of the Photoshop CC and Bridge CC desktop apps
Adobe Typekit library of fonts for use in desktop applications and websites
20GB of cloud storage for file sharing and collaboration, plus a Behance ProSite
    It doesn't include Distiller, Illustrator.

  • What comes with Photoshop CS6 when I first get it?

I have heard that it comes with Bridge and Lightroom, but I just wanted to make sure.

Photoshop and Bridge both can use the included Camera Raw plug-in which does most of what Lightroom does.
Ps is demanding of computer hardware, so make sure your machine runs it well enough for your needs by using the free fully functional 30-day trial before parting with money.
The download is v13.0. After installing it, if you have Windows, get the 13.0.1.1 update. If you have a Mac, get the 13.0.1 update. Do not get the newly released 13.0.2 Mac update because it adds bugs.
Also get the Bridge 5.0.1 update and Camera Raw 7.2 update for either Windows or Mac. There is now a Camera Raw 7.3 update, but I'm not recommending that because I've just read a report of problems starting for someone immediately after installing it.

  • Is Adobe Bridge free with Photoshop and lightroom deal?

Hello anyone, I have the Photoshop and lightroom deal subscription for Adobe CC.  But I don't know if Bridge free or extra?  in CC Apps there is an install option which suggests it's free were has other Apps have the try option.  Can any one help me please.  Cheers Neil

Bridge CC must be separately installed via the Cloud app.

It's included with your membership at no extra cost but it's no longer automatically installed along with Photoshop etc.

  • Bridge CS6 with Photoshop CC?

Due to problems I'm having with Bridge CC I'd like to use Bridge CS6, but when using Image Processor from Bridge CS6 it launches PS CS6 (even if PS CC is already open). Is there a way to direct Bridge to use PS CC 2014 instead?
I'm on a Mac running Mavericks.

  • This is probably an utterly stupid question, but does Illustrator come with Photoshop?

It doesn't, right? Just say no or yes, please.

As Silkrooster points out, as a stand-alone, no, but with various suites, then yes. If you have not purchased yet, do check out the suites, as they are often such a great deal, that they are hard to pass up. When offered the option to go to what was then called the Production Studio suite, I got Premiere Pro, Encore, Audition, After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator, for less than the price (remember, this was an upgrade) of one of those programs at full-price.
One caveat: if one does go to a suite, then the individual program upgrade paths will no longer be available. Once one goes to a suite, the upgrades available will be for the entire suite, so choose wisely.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Does a chroma keying function come with photoshop elements?

I just bought a green screen and would like to change the background of the photos I take. I'm going to order the Adobe photoshop and Premiere Elements package and would like an answer to this question before I do.

Not sure what chroma Key is but if you meant this:
    <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chroma_key>
then with some ingenuity and dexterity you can do that in PSE and Photoshop.  Photoshop is highly specialized and it is the industry standard so it should do what you want to do.  PSE is for hobbyists like me but it is doing everything I want it to do.  How about downloading the trial versions for both products and use them for 30 days; after which you can buy the boxed version from Amazon and use the serial number to convert your installed version a full version.  It works.
    Good luck.

  • Am I able to use Bridge CS6 with Photoshop CS5 ?

    Hi all,
I think after using a trial for Illustrator in which CS6 bridge was attached I managed to overwrite Bridge CS5. AM I able to use Ps CS5 and Br CS6 together or do I have to look to re-obtaining Br CS5 ?.
    Thanks in advance,
    Mike.

I'm doing this right now on two win 7 64-bit installs. I've opened either app in different order and things work just fine. BR CS6 is fast and stable, PS CS6 is still too spooky for me (since its October and all )

  • I purchased Photoshop CC but I already have Lightroom 5.1 installed. Do I need to re-install the Lightroom download that comes with the purchase of Photoshop CC?

I have purchased Photoshop CC that comes with Lightroom 5. I already have Lightroom 5.1 installed and wondering do I need to install the Lightroom that comes with Photoshop CC 2014?  Thanks

    johnhawk666 wrote:
As  you bought the CC plan of Photoshop plus Lightroom, you should uninstall your standalone copy of Lr as it may interfere with the correct working of the CC version, and install the CC version.
I don't think that's true at the moment; the CC version of LR5 is identical to the stand-alone version, and it will interwork with Photoshop in the same way.
However, when LR6 is released then that comes free with CC but not with the stand-alone version.  So you might want to follow johnhawk666's advice when LR6 is released, if you haven't done it by then, or you won't get the upgrade to LR6.
By the way, uninstalling your existing LR5, then installing the CC version (via the CC app) shouldn't alter anything - your settings, catalog etc should be picked up by the new installation.  However, a wise person would back everything up first anyway, just in case!

  • Using Lightroom 5 with Photoshop CS4

Hi folks. New Here. I am a novice convert to digital photography and I have browsed the discussions concerning Lightroom and Elements in the main.
Is there any need to buy Lightroom 5 to deal with cataloguing and searching imported RAW images with Photoshop CS4, as Photoshop Bridge 4 comes with Photoshop CS4? What is a good strategy for dealing with libraries of images? I have the chance to aquire inexpensive versions of LR 5 and P CS4.
For your information - I am using a MacBook Pro with a quad core i7 processor, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB Flash drive and my camera is a Canon PowerShot SX50 HS.
    Many thanks.

    Thanks 99jon,
I appreciate the careful and easy to understand reply, Jon99. Versions of P higher than CS4 are prohibitively expensive for me at this stage. If I get on with digital photography then I might look at the PCS and L CC subscription option in the future.
I went ahead I aquired my bargain basement version of P CS4 and like it so far, but I held back on LR5 until I had a clearer view of what it enables me to do and thanks for the information.
Do you or anyone know if I can sell my version of P CS4 when if I decide to move up to the Cloud solution? Flicking through another Pogue-style book seems to suggest that the latest versions of P CS and L are the current state-of-the-art. Is there a simple list of what users of this option consider to be the main, *essential* improvements of the latest versions of these two pieces of software that possibly make it a must-purchase. I am not after an exhaustive list, but just the main improvements that may make this an essential purchase after I cut my teeth with P CS4.
I am a real novice and have included the specs of my camera and MacBook Pro in my previous post for anybodies info in order to help me.
    Many thanks,
    David

  • I have A question about Adobe creative Suite 3 Design Premium, and what it comes with..

My boyfriend works for a office furniture company building and tearing down office furniture. Today one of the people who worked at the company he was tearing down told him he could take any of the programs there as they had no use for them. So he took the Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium as well as mac OSX Leopard, thinking I would like to use them. But I have a PC.
My question is what comes with the Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium? Since I can not use it, I thought I could sell it, but do not want to do so if I do not have everything it comes with or needs. What I have is three disc's, in the case. There is the application, the content, and the video workshop. There is no booklet or anything with it. If anyone could answer my question, I would really appreciate it. I dont want to sell it to someone and get in any trouble for it not having what its supposed to.
Thank you for your time and help.

Firstly, the CS3 Design Prem comes with Photoshop Extended CS3, Illustrator CS3, InDesign CS3, Dreamweaver CS3, Acrobat Pro 8 as well as Bridge and and Vesion Cue.
Secondly, has the packaging been opened? If so, it could still be installed on a PC or rather Macintosh somewhere. If so, this makes it a trickier proposition with regards to installing it yourself or selling it on.
Don't quote me on this, but if the software is fresh and unopened or has been deactivated, you could upgrade to Design Prem CS4 Mac and then crossgrade to Design Prem Windows. Don't know if it's possible to crossgrade and upgrade in one fell swoop from Mac to Win. I suspect not - but will be happy to be proven wrong.
    Hope this helps.
