Hi Friends,
1.Please explain about the Main Planning strategies and Alternative Planning strategies...
2.What is the need of Alternative planning strategies..??
3.In what type of scenarios the alternative planning strategies is needed and who it will work??

The main strategy is proposed in demand management or in sales order management and can be overwritten by another alternate planning strategy defined in the strategy group.
You can allocate the strategy group to the materials directly in the material master record, or you can allocate the strategy groups to an MRP group and then in a second step allocate the MRP group to the material in the material master record.

  • Clarification on Manual Planning

    Hello
Would appreciate clarification on the following query.
Is it possible to write zero key figures into the infocube:
The context is I have paytype as a characteristic
when the characteristic is BONUS the rates (read All Key Figures )are zero, while there are specific rates when the value of the paytype characteristic is PAID
While I maintain these values in the planning layout , I find that the system recognizes only those entries which has atleast one non-zero value
The work around for me would be to try and introduce a key-figure which would have a value in all instances
Just wanted to know whether there is an alternative
    Thanks for your time
    Regards

    appreciate your response on this query;
I also felt like sharing SAP's perspective on this.......
    <b>My query to SAP</b>
I have created a planning layout for manual planning; Set of entries were entered in the planning layout
The scenario demands the key figures for certain characteristics combinations to be zero ; this means that for these combinations, all the key figures assumes zero values The systems generates entries only in the cases where atleast one key figures has a non zero value; Why is this so? Is the BPS design/ Loading
into t cubes designed such that key figure should have non zero values
    to be loaded into the data target Appreciate help on this Regards;
    Ramesh
    <b>SAP Reply</b>    28.11.2005 20:46:07      SAP AG
    Dear Ramesh,
yes, the system is designed this way. The BPS could not discern betweenvalues of zero and values not yet planned. Data sets have to have at least one key figure diverse to zero, otherwise these data sets will be
deleted from the internal buffer and will be not written to the cube. This is the standard behaviour of the BPS system.
A possible workaround is to set dummy key figure (like "planned") with value 1 for "yes" and 0 for "no".

  • Clarification on Cost planning version

    Hi Gurus,
I need a clarification... as per the client's business requirements, cost planning is to be executed in various versions before it is finally approved. As of now it is decided to copy  this into zero version (approved version). What will happen if components & services are assigned to network when real execution starts ?
Let me give an example, Unit cost planning is executed for $1000. This cost plan is copied into zero version. when the user start executing the project, they assigned components & service in the network amounting to $800. As system takes this planning directly to zero version, will the total planned cost will become  $1800 ? If so, should i not take the approved cost plan into zero version instead to copy into some other version and only use Plan 1/Plan 2/ Actual Report to see the comparison ?
Whether my understanding is correct ?
    Regards,
    Vinodh

    Hi Vinod,
Goto OPSV ( Define Order Value Updating for Orders for Projects ), remove the Check box "addit" for Order category - 20.
You can copy the Planned cost from other versions to active version - "0" but you can keep order settings to avoid appending planned cost to WBS Element Level. So, even though user do network costing, network planned cost not appended to WBS Element. Hence your initial approved planned cost remains same and you can see in all reports.
    Hope this clears you !!

  • I have read through the terms of Apple care extended protection plan but i need clarification.

I just read some ipad horror stories about the glass getting cracked. I am not too sure how Tough these babies are, but before i splurge on an extended protection plan for my practically brand new ipad2, i would like clarification as to whether accidental coverage is implied; say for example if the glass were to get scratched, or cracked; under the extended service plan, iit be a covered repair, parts and labor ?
    Thanks for readin'
    Rebecca

AppleCare is a warranty extension and covers manufacturing defects. It is not insurance and will not cover user-caused damage, such as scratching or cracking of the glass (unless the crack was determined to be due to a defect in manufacturing, not the iPad being dropped or impacted).

  • Need clarification on deployment plan in SOA 11g

    Hi all,
I am deploying composites using deployment plan through ant scripts. I have set the search and replace tags with the details. But I notice that the deployment plan does not change the server name for the following files:-
    1. File name :componentType
    <reference name="*" ui:wsdlLocation="http://mydomain.com/soa-infra/services/default/BPELProcess.wsdl">
    2. XSL files
    3. File name : Composite.xml
    <reference name="*" ui:wsdlLocation="http://mydomain.com/soa-infra/services/default/BPELProcess.wsdl">
For all the other occurrences, the server name get modified as per the deployment plan.
    Question:
    1. Am I missing any thing in my deployment plan?
    2. If these could not be modified, will there be any issue when me migrate from one environment to another environment?
    3. Please provide your experiences on this issue.
    Thanks in advance

Have you put your "search & replace" rules in both sections, at the start (composite imports) and at the end (wsdlAndSchema) of the deployment plan?
What version of SOA are you using? I've seen something like this behaviour in 11.1.1.3 version only.
Have you made some changes in your project after created the deployment plan file? Maybe would be possible that your deployment plan is missing some elements like references and/or wsdl/xsd files?
About XSL files, the section oracle-xsl-mapper it is not used at runtime so you don't need to worry about changing server names in that files.
How are you verifying this issue? Are you exporting the deployed composite from Enterprise Manager marking the option to get the post deployment changes?

  • ATP/CTP Based on Planning Data- Clarifications

    Hi gurus,
All below are ATP/CTP Based on Planning Data:
1)Implications of enabling ATP(Enable ATP check box) in while running plan and not enabling ATP check box.?
2)I am running a Plan with ATP enabled, what benefits we get if i run with 24x7 ATP and what benefits we get if without 24x7 ATP. Basically would like to know the functionality of 24x7 ATP.
3)Have set up plan without ATP,
After plan run if i create new sales order will it be shown in planning workbench?
If it is not showing up what could be the reason.
When this new sales order is expected to be shown as Majenta color in planning workbench.
4)After plan run if my new sales order ATP to get occurate(Supply/Demand) data from planning output, what are all necessary setups i have to do (May be simple typical setup)?
Otherway around: what are all the necessary steps and concurrent programs to be done in order get current supply/demand picture.
    Please do the needful.
    Thanks.

    Hi
Do want to use priority based on demand class? The prioritization of ASCP is diffrent from demand class prioritization. You will need to have a customization to assign demand class based prioity and update the demand lines to respect it by ASCP .
Please try to use Allocated ATP . The use allocated ATP profile needs to be set to yes. There should be proper allcoation rule also setup based on demand class. But you cannot guarantee that the ASCP and ATP will be in sync

  • GoPhone monthly plan clarification

Hi! I'm sorry if my question has already been answered. Browsing forums from my (not so)smart phone is nearly impossible. Ok, so here's my problem:
I'm staying in the USA for the summer and yesterday I went to buy a sim card. I was presented with 3 offers: $30, $45, $60. Since I don't need any data and I'm quite broke at the moment, I chose the $30 one. In my monthly plan description it says that I have unlimited calls and texts in the US, but when I try to call it tells me my balance is insufficient. Do I have to refill in order to call? If so what exactly have I payed $30 for? Just having a number?

    Hi there
I’d be happy to help with your GoPhone calling concerns! You should not be billed any further for calls within the US as they are included in the $30 monthly plan. Please try powering your device completely off and back on for the new rate plan to take effect. If the issue persists, please give us a call at 611 where we can get everything ready to rock! Enjoy your time in the US!
    Thanks,
    Charise!

  • World Plan clarification

    Hello,
I will be traveling to Europe for 2 weeks and want to be able to call back home to the US and also locally while in Europe.  Am I correct in choosing the World Plan to be able to call to both areas and only pay the subscription price without incurring any additional charges or fees?
I've read through other posts regarding this plan and many of the subscribers ended up with additional charges.  Mostly because the country they were calling was not included in the allowed countries. But I just wanted to be sure before purchasing.
    Thank you.

    Hello,
As I understand you wish to call only US, in that case you can get just Unlimited US&Canada subscription from: http://www.skype.com/go/subscriptions
It doesn't matter where you are located, meaning if you have Unlimited US&Canada that covers US you can be in any country in the world and you can still call US
Though Unlimited World also works since it includes US, but it has higher price since it includes 39 other countries besides US.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
If answer was helpful please mark it with Kudos and if issue is resolved mark it with solution. This will help other users find this answer more easily. Thanks in advance!

  • Clarification request -- CC Photographers plan

So this includes CC Photoshop, but what does it actually include for LR?
(I could not find this addressed elsewhere).
All the notes from Adobe say
CC Photoshop and "access to Lightroom 5"
    (the quotes are mine).
Does that mean we get the CC Photoshop subscription, but only LR5?  not the future upgrades to LR6/7/...???

Thank you -- I don't find the FAQ at all clear, and it does not reference Lightroom and the word "upgrades" only occurs in another context.
I understand then when I get Photoshop-CC its not a specific version, but the ongoing.
But all references to LR say specifically "access to Lightroom 5".
So just to be 100% sure -- if I buy into this photographers package (which I purchased as Photoshop-CC months ago), I get Lightroom with its ongoing upgrades, not just Lightroom-5??

  • A/P & Consignment data pull to Planning Cube.....

I put this in "BC & Extractors" section, but did not get any response.....
Need couple of clarifications (brief background is provided.....):
    1. We do DELTA extractions using 0FI_AP_3 adn 0FI_AR_4 to a base cube which includes both 'Open' and 'Cleared'
items. From this cube we do a DELTA load to a Planning Cube on a DAILY basis. We filter the data on Company Code
and 'Item Status' (OnlyOPEN Items) for Planning purposes. The key figure pulled to Planning Cube is '0DEB_CRE_DC'.
The bsae cube has data at Line Item Document level, where as the planning cube is only at Customer & Vendor level.
The question is - Will this Daily DELTA to Planning cube with filter on Open Item bring correct key figure? For example,
if the status of one of the items pulled as OPEN in earlier Delta changes to "CLEARED" the subsequent day, will the Key
Figure reflect the changes and show correct value? Is there any impact on the key figure due to the filter on Open Item?
My thinking is the key figure 0DEB_DRE_DC will reflect he correct number (adjsuted) since it is a summated key figure.
I could be totally wrong and want to understand this with comments from experts.
    2. Has anyone worked with pulling Consignment (SMI) data into Planning cube? We pull this data using a generic extractor
from a SAP table "RKWA" with some logic. Since I pull A/P data that contains SMI & Non-SMI transactions. To avoid
Double Counting, how can I avoid bringing in the SMI transactions from A/P? There is no flag to diffferentiate the SMI /
    Non-SMI transactions....
I am hoping someone has worked in these area to offer expert comments/ recommendations.
    Thanks.. Shaun
Please post one question only once
Edited by: Vikram Srivastava on Aug 13, 2010 1:02 PM

    Hello Lee,
For your first question as you are using the Filter on the status of the record,
lets say today the status is OPen and as a part of the filter the Delta will be able to pick this record as the status is OPen but if the status is changed to Closed tomorrow then this record will be completely ignored and hence in the next level target you will not have the right status at all.
So you need to plan your filters accordingly.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • BI Java Installation: Clarification Needed!

I'm wondering if someone could help clear this up for me:
We have installed NW2004s SPS08 on Solaris with only the usage type EP (AS Java/EP). Awhile back I was tasked with connecting our BW ABAP system to our Portal ("Integration into the Portal" - transaction SPRO etc).
After starting this task I noticed I was missing things that the instructions were telling me to configure; i.e. Items that were related to BI that weren't in the Portal such as certain roles, the BI Repository Manager etc.
Reading around, it seemed like I need to install the BI usage type.
I have now been tasked with another installation of the Portal (NW2004s SR1 this time), but am trying to head off the problems I'm experiencing trying to connect the Portal to our BW ABAP system. This will be a Java only installation. I've read that BI-Java requires EP and AS Java, and that if I install the BI-Java usage type, EP and AS-Java will be installed automatically.
My question is, if I do the BI-Java installation and it automatically installs EP/AS-Java, will the Portal still act the same way as it does in my EP/AS-Java only installation I already have? We have many plans to use the Portal as an entry point for all of our backend systems, so if the Portal's capabilities are not what we see already (in our first installation of just EP/AS-Java) then we will have problems.
Any clarification is greatly appreciated and I will award points accordingly.
    THANKS!
    Beau.

I think that's what I needed to know.
I was actually wondering about DI as well. Our developers are having problems deploying .EAR files to our original EP-only install. They can deploy .PAR files with no problems, but .EAR files always error out. Maybe having DI will solve this problem as well? I'm a little concerned about the hardware capacity of this box with having BI, EP and DI all installed on it. I had contacted SAP about installing DI a while back and basically they had told me to install it on a seperate server, by itself. We're running a Sun Enterprise 420R, 4G of memory and a 450 mhz processor for this new installation. Do you think this box is capable of handle EP, BI and DI (AS-JAVA)?
    Thanks for your help!

  • How to create z-report ( actual , planned , variance -production qty)

    Hi dear experts,
My client need a report where we can see production order qty, actual production qty, dependent matl planned qty and dependent matl actual consummed qty, and difference between actual and planned quantities in one single screen?
For this , sap have any std reports or else we have to create any z-report?
In case of z-report plz explain me how to create it.
    please guide us.
    Regards,
    Imran

    Hi,
you can check below standard PP reports transaction code:
COOIS - Production Order Info system
    MCPM Production order anal.: Quantities
    MCPD Production order analysis: Dates
MCPU Production Order Analysis: Lead Time
    MCP0 Shop Floor Information System
    MCP1 SFIS: Operation Analysis Selection
    MCP3 SFIS: Material Analysis Selection
If you want to get Z development report, first you can go throgh your business requirement and what will client expect in your Z report, then you can check the production order header & component tables & its relevant fields.
You can prepare for functional specification for Z report development and will send it to ABAPer's.
Let me know any further clarifications.

  • Getting data in GATP Planning area on open Sales Orders yet to be PGI'ed

This is in context of allocation planning.
I understand there are two internal GATP relevant key figures AEMENGE (allocation) and KCQTY (incoming sales order quantity) which come over from R3. These two key figures are part of any allocation planning design to track consumption of allocation from sales orders.
We have a requirement to also get information on open sales orders not PGI'ed into GATP planning area. Is there a way to do this without configuring SNP and only core interface ? (Releasing data from SNP to GATP does not work since the levels are different)

    Hi
Just to correct you. The tcode is LBWQ and not LBQW.
Well as per your lines that it is not possible for 400 users to manually feed the data after changes .I totally agree.
To help get the same functionality we have v3 jobs or direct delta which serves the same job for you.
This is a job that runs at a regular interval as per you set it in the tcode LBWE.
If the Datasource is Delta Enabled then only these jobs would be available to run for those data sources and if incase the DS is Full then you dont need these jobs at all.
Thus once you set your DS as Delta. Go to LBWE select the DS you are working upon for delta
After finding the DS you see two options update mode and update.
Update mode -you can choose the type of update mode for example direct, queued and so on.. Generally we use Queued Detla
Update - you have to set here how do you want it to run and from wat date etc.clickin on job control gives you a window where in u can set all the fields as per ur requirement.
Once after these are done your job would automatically run and collect the changed records to the delta queue and from there you can pull the same using info pack.
Hope that clarifies your doubt to some extent.

  • Questions on porting family plan lines and a prorated final bill?

Hey there! I've done some searches on the board before posting and encountered tidbits of information I found useful, but I couldn't get all of my lingering questions answered from older posts so here's my situation:
My number is the primary number on a family plan (3 lines, mine included) with Verizon, and I'm considering porting it along with the two other lines elsewhere. All three lines are no longer in a contract and are month-to-month (the 2-year agreements ended many months ago and none of the lines have been upgraded or anything since then). I'm planning to move them all to separate prepaid services through another carrier.
I'm doing my best to gather enough information about how to go about moving all three of these family plan lines with the least amount of hassle , so I've got some questions I hope I can get answered. Thanks for any assistance!
    This is my understanding:
-I'll need to contact my new carrier to have a given number ported, correct? And that line will be subsequently cancelled on Verizon's end, with no ETFs since none of the lines are tied to a contract?
-Should I port the second and third lines first and not port the primary number (mine) first, so asto not cancel all the lines of service before they're ported? I'm okay porting one number at a time AKA separately instead of all at once if that simplifies the transfer process.
-When the porting process takes place and my Verizon service is cancelled, does Verizon prorate the remaining days on my billing period from the date it's cancelled, or do they still bill up to the end of the cycle? I hear it's better to wait until the end of my billing cycle (which for me is the 9th of every month) to initiate the transfer(s) so that I don't have any billing issues, but moving all three numbers on one day (even separately) sounds kinda daunting.
-Do the phones I currently have under Verizon simply "disconnect" or deactivate once service is cancelled? Will they no longer be associated with my family plan lines and therefore be free to be resold or handed off to other family members who are using Verizon? I notice many phones on eBay/Craigslist list a "cleared ESN" as a requirement for someone to activate a used phone on Verizon and wanted to know what that was about.
Thanks for any help on these concerns!

    This is my understanding:
-I'll need to contact my new carrier to have a given number ported, correct? And that line will be subsequently cancelled on Verizon's end, with no ETFs since none of the lines are tied to a contract?  All correct - the port happens via the NEW carrier.

I'm okay porting one number at a time AKA separately instead of all at once if that simplifies the transfer process.  You can do it this way - but based on your next question, you wouldn't want to do it this way.  You can't do both!!
-When the porting process takes place and my Verizon service is cancelled, does Verizon prorate the remaining days on my billing period from the date it's cancelled, or do they still bill up to the end of the cycle?  You have already paid for the current month's service - you are billed in advance for the coming month.  What WILL be billed is any texting, roaming calls, data charges, etc, that have occurred during the month that were NOT billed in advance. I hear it's better to wait until the end of my billing cycle (which for me is the 9th of every month) to initiate the transfer(s) so that I don't have any billing issues, but moving all three numbers on one day (even separately) sounds kinda daunting.   But YOU don't have to do anything - your new carrier will deal with it, and it seems to me it would be better to end the service on all three at one time, since it is one account.  You can ask your new carrier what they recommend.  There should be no issues with porting all three lines at once.
-Do the phones I currently have under Verizon simply "disconnect" or deactivate once service is cancelled?Yes - once the number is ported to the new carrier, the phones will no longer work until they are activated with another number.  Will they no longer be associated with my family plan lines and therefore be free to be resold or handed off to other family members who are using Verizon? This is correct, and another reason for doing the port at the end of a billing cycle.  Issues have come up with transfers done mid cycle - and because the account had been billed and paid for the full month's service, the phone's ESN was not released until the end of the billing cycle.  I notice many phones on eBay/Craigslist list a "cleared ESN" as a requirement for someone to activate a used phone on Verizon and wanted to know what that was about.
Thanks for any help on these concerns!
It may take several days for the numbers to fully port over and have all services working correctly, and for the old phones to be fully "released" from your account to be used on another Verizon account.  I would wait a week or so after the port, then call CS and check the ESN status of the old phones to see if they are "clear".
Hope this answers most of your questions.  Post back if you need further clarification.
