Clarification Needed For Alerts : UDF

Hi Team,
I am configuaring AE & IE Alerts . In IE Alerts, In Container variables am seeing UDF ALERT XX, etc..
Im unable to understand what is the use of UDF ALERTs in Container variables?????

Help needed for Alerts

hi experts,
urgent help required. I have configured alerts and alert category and they are working fine. Now in my alert category i want to send url of the message monitoring like

1) if i am hard coding it, and getting email at that time it is not giving me message guid but instade of that it is giving me the same above url.
2) i dont want to hardcode this url in development server it should take development server hostname, in QA it should take QA host name and port and in Production it should take info of production server.
How to do that? Please help me out in this. If any other information is required then let me know.

Let me tell you the full scenario.
My interface is synchronous interface. Now here data is going from SAP to Oracle database,
If Oracle is not sending response then i want to raise alert.
In my mapping i am calling this RFC, SALERT_CREATE, in Look ups.
Now internally when this RFC will be called it will generate the alert and send it. At this time i want that URL dynamically generated.
You can say that in this message Server name, Port number and Message ID are dynamic.
Server name will be as per the system, like for dev it will be SAPXIDEV, for PRD it will be something like SAPXIPRD. Those names i am aware. So now you tell me how to handle it...Still whatever solution you have told me will be applicable to it?
Please reply me bcz i have to transport this scenario in production within 2 days.

Clarifications needed for full text search

I need some clarification regarding full text search.
1) Is japanese part of the standard Oracle full text search?
2) if it is not, how to install the japanese lexer?
3) how oracle is sorting international characters. If a column contains both english, japanese and french, how will be the output?

I am facing another problem in searching blob columns when it contains japanese or korean characters. I tried with multi lexer (adding japanese as sub lexer and making english as default lexer). But it is not searching the column. Do i have to set any other parameters (editing registry, changing enviornment setting etc). I used the following script to set the lexer.

   this is an FAQ.. so, can you please provide me the solution for this.. I'm using PI 7.0 in which scenario we need to go for UDF.. normally in PI for everything standard functions are there.. even though.. some times we need to go for an UDF's.. can anybody give the scenarios.. when exactly we need to go for a n UDF..

Hi Babu,
As u r aware that UDF is the functinality provided by XI where we can not fulfill the requirement by Std functions.
Let me give you few example:
1) UDF is required when we want to do lookup in R3,which can not be done with std function.
Within an XI mapping it is a common requirement to be able to perform data lookups on-the-fly. In particular, there may be a need to look up some data that is maintained in an R/3 application.
In the error handling topic we have seen the different validations which need to be performed on file. This can be done through Lookup.
Some use cases:
     Look up material number from table MARA.
     Look up cost center budget.
     Look up employee information.
     Look up unit-of-measure (UOM) information from table t006a.
     Lookup for raising an alert.
In this case we need to write the UDF for the same.
2) UDF is used when you want to get the file value dynamically from the File adapter that time you have to go for UDF.
3) When there is a requirement where you need to do the comparision of input value with some value and based on that comparision you need to return some different value.
4) You can use USF for raising alert.
5) You can use UDF for calling passing values to other java code.
There are many examples but it depends upon the requirement.

Create a keyboard shortcuts (ctrl + shift + b) for your script and try...
Code must be like this:

P.S.: you have to set conditions for bold, bold italic, etc.

Post Process Event Handler not getting user's CURRENT_STATE for a UDF field

I have a post process event handler in OIM R2 BP04 , which runs on Trusted Reconciliation and it compares user's ("CURRENT_USER") state and ("NEW_USER_STATE") and based on that derives a business logic.
The problem that i am facing is that, it is not able to get the User's ("CURRENT_USER") state for a UDF(EMAIL_LIST) field and it is coming as null,and hence is breaking the business logic.The same Event Handler is working on TEST and QA ( 4 node cluster)environments and is not working on PROD environment( 4 node cluster).
The different thing that was done on was that during the initial recon the event Handler was not present and after the initial load of the users i have manually executed the database sql query which have updated the "EMAIL_LIST field manually for all the users
I think that since during the initial recon as the EMAIL_LIST was not populated and was populated through the SQL update for all the users, the orchestration inter event data does not contain email list, and so it is coming as null.
But i am seeing the same behavior for new records as well, which are created and then updated after event handler is registered.
Please reply, if you have encountered something similar.

Job for alert data reorganisation is not release or running -ERROR BPM

I am trying to set up BPM in solution manager EHP1 .
I ahve created a business process and also added teh required job,When i try to generate and activate the BPM i get an error as
"Job for alert data reorganisation is not release or running"
kindly suggest what i need to do to resolve this issue, which job to be scheduled and also all details and also any relevant document for the same
i have a project dead line to be met kindly help me ASAP

Do you still get same alert if you generate and activate
the BPMon session ?
If yes, there seems some problem on job "BPM_ALERT_REORG".
Maybe it is scheduled but not released.
(do you see scheduled job in SM37 ?)
1st, according to your description, you use ehp1.
In that case, as described in note 521820, do you already have
required note. Especially related to ST-SER like following.

I quickly checked description of each note, but could not find out
correction related to alert reorganization job. But it is better to
implement above notes if you do not have yet.
And if you still have problem (try generation and activation again)
even with above note, I recommend you to create SAP customer message
for component "SV-SMG-MON-BPM".

Container for alert category could not be loaded

Hi All,
I am having very strange issue with container(Variables).
I defined Alert category, created container elements and I was using them in long and short text. They were working fine, but now if I open Alert category and click on container tab, its says: Container for alert category could not be loaded and I dont see container elements that I created before. Same thing happened before and I re-created those container variables. But now I have many Alert categories. Is this an existing issue? or does any body having similar situaltion? Can anybody please provide information on this.

How to estimate (hour) for Alerts in SAP XI.

Hi Experts,
I got alerts configuration assignment for mapping errors, adapter errors and queues in SAP XI/PI, my team lead asked me to provide the estimation time for alerts (alert creation, alerts configuration, alerts testing in Dev, Quality and Prod).
Can anyone tell me approx estimated time to complete alerts in each environment for one interface and estimated time for basis part (SMTP configuration) also, based on that I will calculate remaining interfaces.

For Mapping and adapter errors this is quite straightforward...
i.e create Alert category (30 min max with all container variables..) and then create the alert rule (5 min)
test the scenario for all kind of possible errors..(half a day)
for queue errors you need to use CCMS alert mechanism which needs some time...
if want to go for some framework mechanisms need some developments ...which will take lot of time depending on other factors though...
based on the above you can calculate the effort required for begineer intermediatory and for expert..

Customization needed for capacity setting

Hi all
I cofigured the work center (Shift defination,shift sequence,break time)
I have given for one shift there is 21 hours capacity available (as for three machines
and each machine working 7 hours per shift)
But when I check in t-code CM03(Capacity Planning in Standard Overview it is given only 21 hours per day but it should be (63 for three shifts i.e per Day)
Why it is any costomization needed . Pls provide solution

Hi Dev,
Ultimately system would consider what you see in the "Available cap profile" in your work center master from Capacity view.
The below are main functions in Capacity and scheduling
One is the Capacity availability check - Here the systems checks just for the available capacity, i.e it will only consider the available capacity maintained in the interval available capacity, if its not maintained there, then system would check the available capcity profile. Once systems finds that capacity is available, system would reduce the available capcity once the capacity is confirmed. And available capacity profile is updated automatically by the system once you change the header or the interval available capacity
The second one is detailed scheduling 
- Here the system does scheduling . The shift sequence plays a role here to give precise timing.
The third one is Capacity levelling
This is the one is where you precisely allocate the work centers or resources via planning table - Here the shift sequence and availability check both are considered also system would block particular work center for the dispatched dates and times.
Hope the above clarifies.
For your requirement, you need to make sure that 63 hrs is shown by the system in the Available capacity profile.
Moreover, interval available capacities' function is to override the header data and Hence always this would have higher priority. System also would show this data in available capacity profile populated automatically.
