Clarification on - Oracle Version Update Patch and License Key

Hello,
I am currently using Oracle 9.2.0.4.0 version of oracle database. I want to update it to a higer version or we can say I would like to apply a new higer patch to this version.
My questions are,
1. Is there any new higer patch available for Oracle 9.2.0.4.0?
2. If answer to above question is YES then, is the new patch requires the license key to implement?
I have the license copy of Oracle 9.2.0.4.0.
Do I require the license key to implement the new patch?

Yes the latest patch available on Oracle9i is 9.2.0.7.0 (on windows 32 bit). But in general I think its 9.2.0.6.0. You can check at metalink against the platform you are using.
No I don't think you need a license to apply the patch if you already have one.

Preparing for the inevitable - passwords and license keys backup

Hey all,
I have found my HD has some issues and therefore I'll need to (unfortunately) format it entirely and restore it....
I am doing a backup using Time Machine anyways, but to be super safe I would like to save all settings, passwords and license keys for my applications.
Is there a place where MacOs stores this data and is there a way to save it?

Hi there,
1Password cannot 'read' licences automagically from installed software. I suspect because each developer stores this in a different manner (some may not store it all). However, if you have your software licenses in email, then you can re-enter them into 1Password

Is there a section within the Patching and Utilities part of Oracle Application Manager where you can view the Navigation Path to forms where any changes were made/updated by the patch?

Lightroom: upgrade from trial to full version, how to enter license key?

I installed Lightroom from Creative Cloud (CC) trial on Windows 7 Pro, 64-bit. The version is LR 5.6. I do not want CC, so I purchased the full version of LR on DVD. I was going to reinstall LR from the DVD, but see that it is only version 5.2. I have already done a fair amount of work with the trial LR 5.6 and am worried about losing the catalog that I have created.
So I thought I could apply the full version license key to the trial install, but there is no place to do that within LR. When I bring up the CC master application it shows that I have 5 days left with LR, but still has no way to apply a license key.
I had a very long and frustrating chat session with tech support. In the end I was advised to uninstall the trial, then install the full version. I might be able to download LR 5.6 full and simply install that.
So let me summarize my questions:
Is there any way to apply the license key for standalone full version of LR to the trial version that was installed using CC?
If I uninstall trial version, will I be able to install LR 5.6 download and apply license key?
If I cannot install from download and instead have to install from purchased DVD, will version 5.2 be able to import the existing catalog? Will subsequent upgrade(s) to 5.6 go smoothly?
What about the catalog? Will the existing catalog simply be found during a new installation? Or do I have to manually import?
I've found the community help in the LR forum to be very good - and that is why I am abandoning ACDSee after many years Thank you all for your help.

You should just uninstall what you have installed for LR 5.x, now, then download and install the LR 5.6 update from the Adobe Updates page, and enter your standalone serial number, and things should pick up where you left off.
You might want to go into LR’s preferences (if LR is still opening for you) and see where the catalog (.lrcat) file actually resides on your computer in case you have a problem and have to double-click on that .lrcat file to open your catalog, but my experience is that nothing will seem different after you’ve installed the new version other than the version number will be newer. The preferences, catalog, and pictures are somewhere different than where the program is installed so uninstalling and reinstalling shouldn’t affect any of it.

FYI, the CC-LR is licensed by logging into CC, the standalone version is licensed by entering a serial number. That is why you have to uninstall the CC_licensed version and install the non-CC-licensed version.
It also probably wouldn’t mess anything up to install LR 5.2 from the DVD, but then you’d have to turn around and immediately download the LR 5.6 update, anyway, and it would waste time, so why not start with the latest update. The update is a fully function program, not a patch to an existing program. It’ll either find your existing licensing information if you’ve already entered the serial number or ask for a serial number if it doesn’t find anything—which sounds like your situation.

Flex4 automated builds and license key

When working in Flex3, we were able to include the following configuration file with the license key:

Testing in Flex4, my QA person reports that he receives a message saying: "License not prestent. With teh trial version only limited replays are allowed " when QTP executes their tests.
I had fashioned a config file after the one we used in our Flex3 build for Flex4:

In the examples I have found on Adobe's site for Flex for they all just say to specify the product name. I guessed based on Flex3 name that it should be flashbuilder4. Actually, mxmlc and fcsh ARE standard Adobe products. They come with the SDK. More importantly, they are free, so you can compile your flex apps without a license key. You could hack together a build server using a cron job to fire up a bash script to pull down your release from svn, then invoke the mxmlc compiler (./mxmlc ....) and deploy the file. One of the projects I was able to build using Hudson/maven, I'm not sure on the specifics though.

OS Level and License Key Question?

Hi Everyone, new potential Apple user here.
I am going to buy 2 Apple G4 notepads for our children. I know they will not come with an OS so I my question is, is it like Windows where you have a license key on the bottom and you can use the same CD to install the OS on both machines and just use the License Key that comes with the Laptop or will have to buy 2 copies of the OS one for each machine?
Next question, is what is the highest level of OS I can go to?

There is no "license key" in Mac OS X land ;<). Get used to not having to type those ridiculously complex keys in at the 4 minute mark.
With the single user license you can officially load on one machine. With the family pack you can load up to 5.

In general all the G4 iBooks will run Leopard so 10.5.8 updated. The 12" 800 Ghz will run Tiger so 10.4.11 updated. That's official but the installer can be hacked to run in that machine.

Installing Java Studio Enterprise 7 and license key

Hello, I just installed Studio Enterprise 7 that I downloaded for a "free trial", but each time I start the application it prompts me for a license key which I do not have. I would like to review the software, but I can't get it to work.

Oracle 9i updates / patches

Hi - our company has been developing our Client/Server application for Oracle (and SQL and Informix...) for years now. The last version of Oracle Database we developed for was 9i. The only problem is that apparently we do not have any of support agreement with Oracle and no longer can get patches for the software.
Is there any specific place that a development shop can get the critical Oracle 9i patches for without purchasing a whole end user copy of it? I couldn't find any way to get into MetaLink without spending $$.
I'm not looking to do anything illegal - just looking to see if there are any resources for developers to use to get these patches / updates.

I don't believe you're going to be able to get Metalink access without paying some sort of fees, no.
As a development shop, you may (and I stress may here, I have not spent any time investigating the legalities here, nor do I speak for Oracle, nor am I a lawyer, sprinkle in disclaimers that should Oracle audit you, relying on advice from some guy on the internet is going to hold less than no weight, consult your own licensing experts/ lawyers/ tea leaves) be able to become an Oracle partner, which is something like a $1500 investment at the low end, which does get you Metalink account and the technical ability to download patches. Whether that is sufficiently from a legal standpoint, or what Oracle licenses you need in order to do your development in a fully licensed sort of fashion, however, is something you would have to investigate.

Our client going to upgrade application with Tridion 2011 and it supports 10.2.0.5.0 and onward.
So they asked me for 10.2.0.5.0 and 11.2.0.1.
Please tell me licencing cost for oracle 11.2.0.1 (Upgrade from 10.2.0.3)

How to synch in the most recent version of iTunes - 11.0.0.163 - The latest version updated today and changed the look of the program. I can't see where to click to synch. If I disconnect and restart it works fine automatically, but why do that?

I updated the latest version of iTunes today and it has a new look. That's fine but I can't see where to click to synch my ipod after downloading music or podcasts. It was always easy.

It might make it much easier on you if you enable the sidebar in iTunes. Launch iTunes and go to View>Show Sidebar. With iTunes set up like that, it should look a lot more familiar to you. You can select your device name under the devices heading and then go through all of the iTunes panes by clicking on them at the top of the iTunes Window.
My screenshot shows my iPad, but it works the same way with an iPod.

I have Mac OS (old version) Updated firefox and now it wont work, how do i go back to the old version?

Firefox no longer works because I tried to update it to the new version, but I didnt realize the new version is only for a mac os x. I need to go back to the old version and I cant seem to find it to download and i dont know how to undo the download.

Oracle Cloud Control 12c and licensing

Hey Guys, Can someone please elucidate on the Cloud Control 12c licensing requirements?
Following are all the licenses we currently hold:
1. Oracle Enterprise Edition DB
2. Oracle RAC
3. Oracle Active Data Guard
4. Diagnostic and Tuning Pack
5. Partitioning Option
6. Advanced Security Option
7. GoldenGate
My understanding is that I could install and access Grid/Cloud control as long as I have the Diagnostic and Tuning Pack - and of course to all products we are licensed for.
Questions:
1. Do I need any license for Weblogic server?
2. Can I setup OMS in a clustered architecture?
3. Can I have the RAC database for the repository?
4. Can I access the High Availability options - DG etc?
5. Can I administer RAC and GI services from Cloud Control?
I would've thought that as long as I have access to the underlying DB options, Grid/Cloud control can be used to administer over them.
Could someone please help in clearing this up?

Quick answers for your questions:
1) No, as long as you use it only for EM
2) Yes you can.
3) You need to buy licenses for RAC option (for both nodes) and DB licenses for second node.
4) You mean accessing DG pages on EM pages right? Yes you can. They do not need any license pack. Btw you can check if a page requires additional licensing using "setup > management packs > packs for the page" menu.
5) Yes you can.
But as I said, it's better to read the licencing document by yourself, and contact Oracle sales for more information.

Upgrade to ACS version 5.5 and license

We plan to upgrade Cisco ACS from 5.3 to 5.5.
Do you need to reinstall the license file ? Can the same license file from 5.3 used for 5.5 ?

keep the license file with you just in case. bad things always happen.
But usually if upgrade is done successfully you don't have to provide the license again.

Purchased Primavera P6 about 2 weeks ago. Got an email asking me to agree to Oracle License and Services Agreement which I did.
I have received a registration key, but I can not find a link to download the software. How do I obtain this?
