Clarification regarding Invisible Shield

Hey everyone,
I know there was like a 80 post topic regarding this form of protection but there was a few points I couldn't find in that thread so I would really appreciate it if someone could answer them for me.
1)I don't like the idea of physically putting a damp sheet on my iPod, is this 100% safe as long as its done properly and wont effect the functionality of the iPod through water seeping in etc?
2) If I was to apply it and a month or two later not want it covering my iPod anymore when peeling it off it won't ruin the front or back of my iPod in any way will it? Such as buttons sticking togethor etc
3) I'm in the UK and obviously the only way of me getting hold of this is ordering it from the US. How long with free shipping will it take to reach me in London, based on peoples experiences. And by adding more expensive postage and packaging will that quicken up the delivery????
Right I think that's all of them I can think of, sorry if it is well known these questions but I couldn't find the answers I wanted.
Really appreciate it thanks!

Number 3 you will have to ask the company itself. However, if you know anybody in the US, they could buy it for you and then airmail it to you. It will fit in a standard envelope, so special packaging needed.
1) Don't worry about getting your iPod wet. I did it and it is fine. You need to make sure the protector is very very wet so you can slide it around on the iPod. I didn't have it wet enough the first time, so about 12 hours later, I pulled it off (very hard to do, but it comes off), got it really really wet and the second time it was almost perfect. If the protector tries to stick at all to the iPod, you don't have it wet enough. Also, I got some fingerprints on the adhesive side of the protector that showed the first time I did it. The second time, I got it really really wet and also rubbed the adhesive side well with my fingers and that seemed to get rid of the fingerprints.
2) Go to their webpage. They answer that question I am pretty sure. I think the answer is yes, you can get it off without damaging the iPod, but you should check to be sure.

  • Invisible shield left a sticky residue...how do i remove it

Hi everyone, I had a problem with my invisible shield so i called them up and they sent me a replacement. I just riped off the front of my invisible shield off of my 30gb ipod video i did it very slowly, but damm this thing was stuck down. Now it left a lot of sticky residue that i can not seem to remove. I have checked there website but found nothing regarding this. All they say is that it will remove with out leaving anything behind. Can someone give me some insight on how to remove this. I have tried spraying it with applicator solution and letting rubbing it, i have also tried rubbing it dry with my thumb in hopes to ball it up. None of this has been effective all it is doing is making it worse... please help

just did this yesterday on my ipod and mine also left a residue. I just used the applicator solution and those soft cleaning cloths that you use to clean glasses. It took a while but it eventually all came off, leaving a few new scratches. I had some old polish from an old ipod i had, and used that to mask the scratches. After I put the new sheild on, i could not see any more scratches. Just give it a little elbow greese.

  • New Invisible Shield

I see that there is now an invisible shield without the sides. Does this make it easier for the film to come off the front considering the edges are now sticking out?
Anybody who has this please let me know. should i go with the wrap or the new one without the side wrap?

Hmmm...I had a look at the InvisibleShield website and I couldn't find the item you're describing. There seems to be only the full body cover or the screen protector. Either way, I got the InvisibleShield (full body) for my 4th gen iPod, and I can tell you that this thing doesn't come off unless you want it to. So I wouldn't imagine that even the item you're describing would have any problems. Anyway, you're covered by a lifetime warranty.
The only thing I would recommend is with regards to how to apply it. InvisibleShield recommend moistening the film with your fingers. Following the advise of others who have posted on these forums, I found it better to dip the film in the solution for a second, so that its well-wet. Let it drip for a few seconds to shake the excess water, and you'll have an easier time applying it. Don't worry about the excess water that doesn't seem to go naturally with an electronic device... I know I was a bit nervous about this, but there was no problem. Also, I chose to leave the wheel cover on. I saw no point worrying about scratching it, kinda defeats the purpose I thought. You loose very, very little in tactile feel, but you gain peace of mind. The whole iPod feels a bit rubbery afterwards (after 24 hours), which is quite cool I think. Highly recommended product. I've had it for a short while now, and i can carry it anywhere without worrying about it. No scratches.

  • READ THIS IF YOU BOUGHT INVISIBLE SHIELD WITH FREE SHIPPING!

I want to order an invisible shield with free shipping. about how long did it take to get to your location?

I don't think so cause i don't got a tracking number, a code or anything like that. I just got my order number from invisibleSHIELD but that's useless. I think i should start saying goodbye to my $30. Shipping by Miami Express i'll end spending more than what i paid for the invisibleSHIELD. Right now the only thing i can do is hope that someday it will arrive.

  • Something went wrong with the invisible shield application

After putting on the invisible shield, I was really happy because it turned out great. I waited about two to three hours then started using it.
To my horror, I think my nano might have shorted out because when I press play the song changes. sometimes the play/pause button doesnt even do anything when i press on it...when i touch the volume control, it increases and decreases erratically regardless of what im trying to do...sometimes it even seems like my nano has a mind of its own because when i simply move the nano, without touching the controls, the song changes or the volume changes.
this erratic behavior occurs sporadically. sometimes my nano works fine. then right when i think all is well, my nano becomes possessed. is it possible that my nano has shorted out? maybe i should let it dry?

    hey carl,
The process of applying the shield requires that I wet the film with soap and water. What do you suggest I do? My mistake was that I did not put on the hold button when I was applying the wet film and thus my ipod turned on while I was putting on the shield. i realize now that my nano should not have turned on for 24 hours. Should I just wait and see if the funky behavior goes away? or should i visit the nearest apple store?

  • Clarification regarding Shadow Table

    Hi All,
Clarification regarding Shadow Table. FKK_GPSHAD is a shadow table that belongs to Business Partner. The doubts that i have is
    What is Shadow Table?
What is the purpose of Shadow table?
Is it correct way to update Shadow table Manually(Not using any BAPi etc....)?
Is any BAPI available to update The above mentioned Shadow table.
    Thanks in Advance..

    Reclustering InfoCubes:
With reclustering, the InfoCube fact tables are always completely converted. The system createsshadow tables with a new clustering schema and copies all of the data from the original tables into the shadow tables. As soon as the data is copied, the system creates indexes and the original table replaces the shadow table. After the reclustering request has been successfully completed, both fact tables exist in their original state (name of shadow table) as well as in their modified state with the new clustering schema (name of original table).
You can only use reclustering for InfoCubes. Reclustering deactivates the active aggregates of the InfoCubes; they are reactivated after the conversion.
    Reclustering DataStore Objects
Reclustering completely converts the active table of the DataStore object. The system creates a shadow table with a new clustering schema and copies all of the data from the original table into the shadow table. As soon as the data is copied, the system creates indexes and the original table replaces the shadow table. After the reclustering request has been successfully completed, both active tables exist in their original state (name of shadow table) as well as in their modified state with the new clustering schema (name of original table).
You can only use reclustering for standard DataStore objects and DataStore objects for direct update. You cannot use reclustering for write-optimized DataStore objects. User-defined multidimensional clustering is not available for write-optimized DataStore objects.

  • Is this really a Shieldzone the 'Invisible Shield'?

    Hi
I ordered a Shieldzone skin for my nano, and as I'm in the uk I couldn't order from the USA site, so found a company through Amazon to buy it from. It arrived today, but on the packaging, rather than a Sheildzone logo, there's a CAPDASE logo. Overall the product looks like a cheap version. Have I been 'done' here? Not knowing what the proper product should look like, i just wanted to get some advice before 'kicking-off' at the company thats sent it.
    Any help greatly received.
    Cheers
    Wayne

Shieldzone is the company that makes the Invisible shield.
    http://www.shieldzone.com/
Looks like Capdase (http://www.capdase.com/) is a completely different company.
If you go here -> http://www.capdase.com/index.php?page=product&type=8&cat=5&brand=5
Quite a few language/speeling errors also.
Looks like a Japanese/Chinese company with no one really reviewing the language conversion on the website.

  • Do Apple Stores stock the Invisible Shield?

Im based in the uk, but a friend is heading over to San Fransico next week and im wondering if the apple stores stock the invisible shield or will i have to order from the invisible shield website?
    cheers guys

    Hi there,
AFAIK the only way to get them is via their website.
I'm from Germany and have been looking around the last days to find a German or at least European dealer, thinking it might arrive faster. Haven't had any luck though :/
So, I ordered mine 2 days ago via the website. I'm pretty curious how long it will take to arrive here.
    Cheers from Germany,

  • How to avoid water damage when installing invisible shield

Just wondering what you have to do to avoid water damage when installing Zagg invisible shield? What precautions should I take so that I do not damage the iPhone when installing Zagg Invisible shield?
Thanks and I look forward to your replies.
    ...B

    Hi BGmail,
I would stay away from invisible shield by zagg or similar products. I tried it, waste of £15, could have got myself a dock stand for my phone for that ****!! The problem with IS(invisible shield) is that the screen protector has a rubber feel which makes it annoying when swiping your finger on it + it's not scratch proof at all!! Mine scratched 2 days after the installation so badly that I had to remove it. The back it's hard to apply, does not cover everything you'd like to, also a dust trap that could get between tha film and the phone causing it to scratch, some people reporting the film going yellow after a while(on white iPhones).
What I think of IS: A poor american product heavily/aggressive advertised!! Mine is off, using a hard clear plastic shell and a good screen protector, might look bulky but it's safe, only using the shell while at work, the iPhone is pretty tough, don't forget.
    Your choice... Good luck !!

  • The Invisible Shield

I just got my Invisible Shield. I hate it. Application was ****, and to lift up and re-apply leaves lines / fingerprints. I'm sending it back, and they will send me a new one free of charge. If it doesn't look well, it's going back. When / if my iPod gets too scratched at any time, I will use Brasso to remove scratches.
This is a good concept, but I don't feel that it's application is very easy, nor is the result appearence of the product.

don't go for what looks to be the best deal (the cheapest). Go for the IS, it's fully worth every dollar. Best investment for my iPod this far. Once applied & dried it really fits like a glove (even better).
Before I had the IS applied I was really worried about scratching the iPod (even by just looking at it) and was seriously orienting on what case to buy. Now I still use the original case shipped with the iPod but in fact I don't really bother: The IS really protects it that good that a case really is not needed anymore!
Take our advise at heart and go for the Invisible Shield.

  • Need help re invisible shield....quick it's drying!

    Hi,
I need help re the invisible shield. I installed the front and back but here is the hitch-the front "sides" don't stay down. Did anyone have trouble with this? I didn't have the problem with the back "sides" I guess because they are so much wider.
    Its drying as we speak.
    Help!
    Thanks!

i never applied pressure to anything, you must be doing something wrong. I drenched the entire shield: front, back , circle, and smaller circle in water with soap, then applied it. used a credit card to get out the air bubbles and then let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Dried on its own and have not had a problem. You should try reading the instructions that come in the envelope before you install it, using water alone does not help.

  • Invisible shield for 5G 30gb ipod in london or surrey?

Does anyone know a local store where I can buy this invisible shield? I'm currently in Surrey England and will be in another country by next week so I cannot order this item online. I'm giving this ipod as a present and I want it to be protected before giving this away.

    Ken,
As far as I am aware you can only buy invisible
shield direct online. Why don't you email them and
see if they have agents anywhere just in case?
thanks for the advise, you're right, maybe I'll just give them an email.

  • Invisible Shield, iDiddy, or Martin Fields Protectors?

    Hi all,
I just got my 5G iPod and am looking for a protector that is easy to put on and won't leave any residue if or when removed. Any recommendations? I've been considering the Invisible Shield, iDiddy, or Martin Fields Protectors.

  • My NOT so invisible shield

I have the black 60 gig iPod and I read everything that everyone wrote, the instructions from the web site, from the rainy day web site and the front of my screen is pretty funky. lots of wavy kinds of little scratch looking lines. like they came from my credit card while getting the water out. which shouldn't have happened.
I did not completely dip the shield in the soapy water, because I didn't want to put that much water on a $400 iPod and the company doesn't tell you to dip it, so I didn't. I did use a lot of water with very clean hands though, didn't have a problem with the alignment so much, though a little, but more that it screwed up my screen.
you can definitely tell there is something on my iPod. I think the quality of the protection is probably great, but I definitely have to contact the company tomorrow and see about what can be done, because my credit card should not have been able to put marks in the shield according to everyone else and now I am a little afraid to pull the thing off especially since I have nothing else to cover my shiny new iPod with.
anyone know how long you can leave it on and then take it off without ruining your iPod? I saw the instructions for removal and will get some goo gone in case I need it before I remove it.
I should also have had some tweezers to use instead of just my hands as a little bit at the top that is supposed to go around the curve folded over on itself and i could not get it apart, so had to cut that part off.
it's been 24 hours and i turned on my iPod and you can definitely tell there is something on my screen and it is not clear anymore.
I think the key is getting the thing REALLY wet and then being able to use the credit card to remove the water, but like i said, i was apprehensive to get my iPod that wet.
There should be a better solution, like apple making the iPod and especially the video screen, scratch resistant.

Yes, I did wet both sides, I just didn't dip the whole thing in the water, I wet it with my fingers, but in retrospect, I think the dipping, then shaking off the excess, is a better idea as then there are no fingerprints on the sticky side, and the whole thing is equally wet and soapy. I did tilt the card in the direction that I was scraping. I even used a brand new credit card. I was worried that I would damage the screen under the shield while squeeqee'ing the water out when I saw what it was doing on the outside. I even put more water on the top to keep it from catching on the rubber like surface while using the credit card in case that was the problem, but it didn't work.
I have to admit that I finally did pull it off of the front a couple of hours ago because I could never have lived with the marks all over the screen as I was trying to watch video after the 24 hours and I didn't want to leave it on any longer as I didn't want to have problems pulling it off at the click wheel. Which i didn't using tweezers to carefully pull it off.
I do need to get the goo off of the sides tomorrow with some goo gone. it sure does scratch easily though. I wish the invisible shield had worked for me as I think if you can get it on properly with no marks and no bubbles, it's pretty amazing protection. I left it on the back and am using plastic wrap to cover the front while it isn't on to protect it until I can get another kind of cover for it.

  • Does a shop in the UK fit invisible shields?

I just got the zagg full body shield and dont wanna fit it myself when the iphoen comes is there a shop that does it for a small fee? in the UK

I would not worry about the water damage. Even too much spray won't hurt it. They have included the squeegee so that you get no air-bubbles. Here is some advice, have a cleaning cloth next to you, as you gently use the squeegee to remove the air bubbless and some extra water, run it along the side and as some water comes out quickly use the cleaning cloth do wipe out the water. As you get near the home button as you squeeze out, put the cloth over the home button so that as you squeeze out the water will to to the cloth. Same for the ear speaker.
Just don't spray the solution onto the device itself.
I have used bodyguardz for my device before (same type as invisible shield), and I have never damaged my device at all.
