Classic Application Administration vs. Administration within the workspace

Can someone tell me the Pros and Cons of Classic Application Administration vs Administering the App from the Workspace?
We have always used Classic and I would like to know if it would be worth the effort to convert over.

Workspace admin features, or EPM Architect, is certainly the future direction. The windows based metadata manager is on the sunset trail in terms of new features being added. That said there are still some things that need to be ironed out in certain areas. I would recommend building this into your dev plans and carefully evaluating before migrating to your production efforts. One impetus for moving straight to the EPMA platform was to take advantage of the new graphical calculation manager interface for building rules in HFM rather than using the VB script editor. This need will be gone with the release later this summer where you will be able to use the Calc Manager with both CLassis and EPMA applications. So I would definately prepare yourself, but tread lightly for now.

Swapping Application ID within the workspace

Hi,
I have created an APEX application say BookApp which got created with ID 901.
After completing the application, I have published my App URL to outside world so that users can use it.. like https://apex.oracle.com/pls/htmldb/f?p=901
Now as this is production version, I copied this original application into another App with ID 902 in my workspace itself. I made some changes to this second App (902 one) and once I tested it successfully, I want to publish this second App which has enchanced features.
But I don't want to change the URL which I had published earlier to outside world...
My Question is..
How can I published the APP which has ID as 902, to the URL of 901?
Please let me know if my question is unclear.

I re-import to 901 as I already had one app running in 901 in production.. and I can't take risk of momentraliy deleting it, as by the time I re-import it, a new app could get created in that.

Dragging screens around to get them out of the way only to have them go back when you release the mouse. Not working for me, help???

No the APEX Migration workshop is not installed in the free Oracle demo apex public workspace environment.
One of the Apex experts will be able to confirm this information.
I've only used the tool in my own environment and I've never tried looking for it on the free oracle apex workspace.

Migrating HFM 9.3.1 Classic Application to HFM 11 Classic Application?

Commands within the batch file?

Is there any way to enter commands directly into the batch file which will take effect on the java application?
For example within the java application, there is a method "reload()" and to call that method you can type "reboot" and press enter in the batch file, is that possible? Thanks.

Not sure of your version, Have you configured the web server as the last component in the configurator, if not try configuring again.
Can you go direct to the planning app wizard e.g. http://<planningmachine>:8300/HyperionPlanning/AppWizard.jsp
Might be also worth trying to create your first app through that route if reconfiguring the web server does not help.

Unable to see Planning Classic Application Administration 11.1.1.3

Hi Gurus,
I successfully installed full suit of Hyperion 11.1.1.3
When I go to workspace I can see Classic Application Administration for Consolidation, but I cannot see Classic Application Administration for Planning.
I re-configured planning as well but same result.
I am able to open EPMA dimension library, essbase and all rest of the products.
Does anybody have an idea why is it happening.

How to launch an application with elevated administrator account privilege from windows service even if the account has not yet logon

I passed in username and password of account "A" to method "LaunchAppWithElevatedPrivilege", and also the application i want to launch, e.g. "C:\windows\regedit.exe", but when i run the service program, i found it do launch
"regedit.exe" with elevated account "A", but the content of regedit.exe is pure back. screenshot as below:

You code is not dealing with the DACL access to Winsta0\Default. Only the LocalSystem account will have full access and the interactively logged on user which is why regedit is not displaying properly. You'll need to grant access to your user.
You also need to deal with UAC since that code is going to give you a non-elevated token via LogonUser(). You need to get the full token via a call to GetTokenInformation() + TokenLinkedToken.

How can I remove the applications form Content Administrator

I had undeployed the applications from Content Administrator in two ways:
A:
1. Start the tool using the go.bat located in \usr\sap\<SID>\<Instance Name>\j2ee\admin folder
2. Log in with an Administrator user.
3. Under the Server node click Services-> Deploy.
4. In the runtime tab, on the right hand side screen click on the Applications checkbox. The list of all deployed applications appears.
5. Select the application and click on the Remove button.
B:
Undeploying using SDM remoteGUI.
after I finished that,the application still exist in the browse of Content Administrator Web Dynpro.
But it is'n invailable.When I click the application name,it throws exceptions:

Failed to get list of defined JCO clients for deployable object 'local/Welcome'.

     The steps you have followed are perfectly fine and I don't see any issue there.
     I hope you refreshed the list on the Content Administrator before accessing the application.

I understand that you get the error message when performing a full crawl. I have seen similar cases caused by IE proxy settings. You can try to edit the Internet Options>Connections>LAN settings. Uncheck ‘Automatically detect settings’.

Start or stop the multiple java application from Netweaver Administrator

Hi All,
In NWA->Operations Management->Systems->Start & Stop... the procedure for how to start and stop the Java Applications is well explained on the following link:

The problem is that I want to Start or stop the multiple java application on all instances simultaneously with the application state not persisted. But I am not getting the way to select more than 1 rows in the table so that these applications can be started in a single click. Is there any way out or any alternative?
Each time the CE 7.1EHP1 server is restarted there are around 800 applications that are shown as stopped. I have to start each manually one by one which is an hectic task. Please help.

The fix was in there were several ora init parms that were set incorrectly:
aq_tm_processes value is 0 Should be >= 1
job_queue_processes value is 0 Should be >= 10
enqueue_resources value is 2392 Should be = 3000
java_pool_size value should be >= 20MB
