Classic Quits with Application - New problem
I don't use Classic much, but I do have some older work that I created in PageMaker that I need to access once in awhile. Normally, when I launch Classic, it stays open until I shut down my PB or quit Classic. But today it started to quit when I quit PageMaker.
What's going on? Why is Classic quitting with PageMaker? It relaunches when I open a new PageMaker document, but that's a pain b/c it takes twice as long to open my document, then. Is there a setting that's been changed or a system file that's corrupted?
Weird. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks for the input. I checked the preferences. There doesn't seem to be anything that relates to Classic running continuously until I quit it. There is a preference for allowing Classic to sleep or not, and I set that to "never". I also checked the box that starts Classic up when I boot up the PowerBook. Maybe those two settings will make a difference. We'll see. Worth a shot, anyway.
In the meantime, if anyone has a more specific explanation on how I can fix this problem of Classic quitting when I quit a Classic application, please post.
Thanks.

How do I sync my Ipod Classic 160gb with my new computer (Windows8).? It synced with my old computer (WindowsXP) but will not do so on the new computer?
Hi Lechwe,
I had this issue recently, due to changing HD for an SSD.
In my case, since the library in my iPod was synced to the HD it was not syncing to the library in the SSD, though they were the same (had the same contents).
I found there's this checkbox in iTunes > iPod > [Settings] Music, called "Sync Music". Mine was unchecked, I guess due to iPod being synced to the old library. I marked the checkbox and clicked then in Sync. iTunes asked me if I was sure I wanted to sync the iPod with the "new" library, i clicked yes, and the it started determining the song to sync. Since the library was essentially the same (just a couple songs more in the new one), it synced the couple new songs and that was it.
Hope it helps!

Awlo. -
Why does AIM "unexpectedly quit" with the new Powerbook G4.
Before I confuse anyone, I am speaking of AIM (AOL Instant Messenger for Mac), not iChat. This is the most relevant discussion category I can find to ask this question.
But anyways, I just got a new Powerbook G4 12inch model with Super-drive and installed the most recent version of AIM 4.7. When using this program, it will frequently and randomly quit on me. A window will pop up saying that the program had "unexpectedly quit". This is quite frustrating because I have been a Mac user on AIM for more than a decade. I should also point out that I also have another friend who got the exact same Powerbook G4 model that I have at the same time (about a week ago) and she is also having the exact same problem with her PowerBook. So I believe there is a good possibility that this problem isn't a defect in my computer's software alone, but also in all the other new PowerBook G4s out there (at least the 12inch superdrive models). Anybody experiencing the same thing or have a solution?Are you using AIM as your chat interface or iChat? You don't need to use the AIM client software in order to conduct a chat with an AIM account user, you just need an AIM screen name to access their host.
I removed the AIM client software from my system as soon as I realized that iChat doesn't use the AIM client software to function. I've never used the AIM client software to conduct a chat, just iChat. If it is just the AIM client that is crashing, you should be able to circumvent that by not launching the AIM client, but just iChat. Since I never actively ran the AIM client, I can't say how stable it is. iChat seems rock solid so far. -
SCCM w/MDT UDI with Application/Package problems..
I have an UDI deployment that I am trying to get off the ground. I have the MDT Install Applications page set up with a mixture of both Packages (that have been migrated from SCCM 2007) and Applications. The weird problem that I'm having is this; if
I set the applications page order to have SCCM Applications above the Package installations then only the Applications install and none of the Packages. If I order the list with the Packages first then all of the packages install but only some of the
Applications install. I can work around that behavior, that's fine.
I also have some items that when they are created as packages they work, but as applications they won't work from a task sequence. However, the applications will install from within a client OS. The command lines are exactly the same. All of
the content is set to allow deployment from a task sequence as well.
What is it that I'm missing? I would really like to leverage the 2012 application catalog, I would also like to keep from having to do things twice (once as a package, once as an application)
My environment is SCCM 2012 SP1, with MDT 2012 U1 integration.
Thanks!I'd like to say that I have, but I really haven't. I've resorted to using ProcessMonitor to try and find what exactly it is that the deployment is trying to do. I've learned a lot about the environment, but not a whole lot on how to repair this.
It also seems to be a similar problem to another thread that is open right now; http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmanagerosd/thread/f1fe94a1-4eb6-4f4e-a1f9-b0a00a6fee8b
That thread seems to tie it together to Flash Player somehow. For me, I'm trying to get Adobe Reader XI to install. However, I've seen the same problem occur with Project, Visio, Autocad... The only thing that seems to consistently install
is Office 2010, but I can't see anything that is especially different with that product vs. anything else.
I've tried all sorts of things to fix this problem. Fresh UDIWizard_config.xml and UDIWizard_Config.app doesn't fix it. Creating new applications doesn't fix it. Adding comments to the deployments and applications doesn't fix it. I've
checked, and rechecked boundaries and no go there either. The content is available, as it works from within a fully deployed OS. Just about every fix for task sequence application deployment I've tried. The applications does have "allow
this application to be installed from the Install Application task sequence action without being deployed" enabled.
Here is the smsts.log around the Adobe install:

Help!
Hello KatarinaW,
While not specifically for Windows 8, the following article provides several options for transferring your library that can be used in most versions of Windows.
iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
This article will step you through the process of enabling 'manual mode' on your iPod Classic, which will allow you to sync it with multiple computers without disrupting the current contents of the iPod.
Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers

According to this link: http://unsanity.com/
Unsanity must be run in Rosetta. You can do that by right or control clicking the Safari icon in the Applications folder, then clicking Get Info. Select: Open using Rosetta.
If Safari continues to crash, the culprit is most likely Unsanity.
Go here: /Library/InputManagers
Move these files to the Trash: *Smart Crash Reports/Smart Crash Reports.bundle/Contents/MacOS/Smart Crash Reports*
Relaunch Safari.

It's been awhile, but I'm back with a new problem...
Hello guys, it's been quite some time since I've been stumped and needed to resort to the best resource on the net... You Guys! lol anyway, here is an image of what I need to create and I've been trying to do this using line segment or pen, but my problem with line segment is the blunt ends and the pen does not allow me to change the stroke width to reflect the wider lines. I'm still a newbie and probably always will be, so easy to understand instructions are as always, greatly appreciated.
The "Dial" is actually this wierd rectangle shape with the odd dip at the top, but all I need is the black artwork inside the dial. You can see that the side lines are a different width then the top and the sides slant inward a bit. What would be the easiest way to re-create this and keep the stroke width correct?
Thanks guys!Jber,
Or, starting over you may get both the slanting and the constant widths and horizontal top/bottom ends if you:
1) Create vertical straight stroke/nofill paths with the same widths as the original (one width for the three long ones that are to form part of the Compound Path and one width for the six short ones within) and distances as the (almost) vertical ones measured at the bottom, you may make them all full length (top to bottom) and maybe a bit to bite off;
2) Select all and Distort with the Free Transform Tool, dragging (inwards) by the top left corner while holding Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift until you have the right slanting/perspective;
3) Object>Path>Outline Stroke;
4) Lock/hide the three wide paths;
5) Create horizontal paths where you want to cut the six shorter/thinner ones, and Object>Path>Divide Objects below, and remove the unwanted parts;
6) Unlock/unhide the three wide paths;
7) Create horizontal paths at top and bottom with the desired width (same as the original) as Stroke Weight and Object>Path>Outline Stroke;
7) Select 5) and 6), Pathfinder>Divide, and remove the unwanted parts;
8) Pathfinder>Merge and delete the empty paths inside the Compound Path. -
Hi guys, I've just had a classic iPod, and I've been able to put movies I made with the "old" version of iMovie (iMovie'11) but whenever I want to put movies I've made with iMovie 10.0, I can't, my iPod "can't read them", what can I do to put them in my classic iPod?
I know the videos can only be read if they are MP4, but still, when they are, it doesn't want to be in my iPod...Share to "iTunes" and be sure to set the size to 480.
In the Share window you'll see a small triangular image next to Size. Click on it to change dimensions.
Once in iTunes you can move it to your iPod. -
MB back from repair but with a new problem
I got my white MB back from repair today. The top case has been replaced because of the discoloring issue, but now the click botton only works in the middle and seems to be loose in both sides.
So I'm thinking that I have to send it back?
I must admit I'm getting really tired of this MB!Michelle: If you sent it through an Apple Store, insist they have it sent to the store after the repair, instead of to you directly. That way they have to check it before you pick it up.
My experience w/ Apple's repair depot (Flex) has been bittersweet--they've done some repairs so well that you can't tell it's been touched, others, quite the contrary.
From what it sounds like, it's not the replacement of the top-case, but the top-case they replaced it with. Maybe not a "repair quality" issue, but part quality. -
I am having probems with migration assistant. Trying to transfer data from a windows laptop to iMac 2011. It was working fine when I did the set-up yesterday, but it was going to take hours to transfer some videos so I quit the process with the intention of doing it again at a later stage. However today I find that everytime I get to the 'Quit other applications' box on the Mac and click 'continue', nothing happens. Have checked mission control and confirmed no other apps running. Tried several times with the same result every time. Migration Assistant running on my laptop with the 'Waiting for mac to connect' box displayed. Mac is connected to wi-fi OK as able to use Safari and access internet. Any ideas, please?
Thanks for your suggestions. Have managed to get Migration Assistant working but now have a new problem, i.e. where does it save the transferred files?!! Searched a few forums and it seems it saves it under your old username, or suchlike. Anyway I tried logging on as a new user using my old user name but there were only a handful of files there, couldn't locate the majority of stuff from my old laptop. Anyway I don't intend to go through any more hoops with MA - will just save the important stuff to an external drive and transfer it that way. Not impressed with MA at all. I thought it was supposed to be a user-friendly tool to simplify the transfer from pc to Mac - not my experience, I'm afraid!

Problem with the new server UCS C220 for set IP to CIMC
Hi
We’ve a problem with the new server UCS C220.
We bought two servers UCS C220 M3 for CallManager 8.6 with High Availability.
When we turn on the server during the boot and when it tells us, oppress F8 to enter at the CIMC and set the IP. But it never enters at the CIMC.
Then, we configure our DHCP server and our switch, we connect the three gigabyte ports to our switch to give him an IP to the CIMC, so and then can enter via browser, but neither works.
Note. The dedicated management NIC does not link, the other two ports do make link.
What do you suggest to put an IP to CIMC and start installing our applications?
regardsYou may have noticed that there is no DVD rom on the c220. What you need to do is:
Login into the CIMC from your browser
Luanch the KVM
Insert the VMware DVD in your machines drive
On the KVM pop up there should be a tab to mount the drive, after mounting it click on Macros and choose ctrl_alt+delete to restart.
After the VMware OS installs press F2 to enter IP.
Browse to the VMware ip to download the Vsphere client
Open the Vsphere client, enter the ip of the vmware and the username will be root and no password if you did not set one.
You can now upload OVA templates or manually create virtua machine from this enviroment.
Hope this help -
Problem with Application Notes
I.m using OS X 10.10.3. A month ago I tried to copy then paste a page from Turbo Tax to my Notes application. This froze my notes. I'm unable to do anything with notes. When I open notes I get that same frozen page from Turbo Tax. No change after a ne re install of OS X, Unable to trash notes. The problem occurred on my Book Air Proc speed 1.7 , Mem 8 GB. I have an older Desk top Mac in the cloud with the same notes but it is unaffected and also does not have that frozen page from Turbo Tax. Suggestions please

Problem with applications and accessing database
Hi
I have a serious problem with my applications.I was trying to change "users"'s folder icon so I changed the setting in information.I don'y know what I did but It made these problems:
many of applications does not open for example
itunes-->The folder "iTunes" is on a locked disk or you do not have permission...
picasa alerts me with a database error
yahoo messenger just pops up once and doesn't open.
firefox the same problem
net monitor alerts with a database problem.
evernote same problem
all of my address book is erased.
I think somehow I removed the db files or I changed the permission and the programs can not access to their db files.don't know the last thing I have done was trying to change the icon and after that I found out about the problem.Maybe sth else caused the problem . anyway I copied all of my files to a new user and I removed the user with problems & everything is ok here.thank u all.

fellow iPod classic owners,
the problem is a failure to sync with the new computer. the conditions are as follows: the new computer is a pc. it has the latest iTunes software installed. the iPod is installed properly. i'm fully recognized by my iTunes account. there is nothing lacking other than my iPod's refusal to sync with my new computer. what have i left undone? i could be suffering from a duh, but i'm not the only one. nothing in the apple world is as difficult as this one is, at least on the surface. if it were that simple an issue, no one would be having any problems with it. any more information needed can be provided by request. by the way, the computer being used has been authorized. that is a non-issue.
your help is appreciated,
hardphil.I believe the IPOD (Classic) uses USB 2.0, and my new laptop uses USB 3.0. I think they are not compatable because of this. If you find a solution to this please let me know.
Thanks,
