Classic Ringtones

Now that I have left my 6280 behind for an N95 8GB, I'd like to be able to keep/get my old ringtone installed on the new phone: "tumbler.mxmf". Is there somewhere I can find it (not in any of the the usual online places), assuming that there is a version that will work, or could I (somehow?) transfer it from the old phone? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Problem Editing Settings under CentOS 7

I am having trouble with Eclipse IDE for C/C++ Developers, 4.5.0.20150621-1200 under CentOS 7. I downloaded eclipse-cpp-mars-R-linux-gtk-x86_64.tar.gz from eclipse.org.
When editing the C/C++ Build Settings, deleting any item in either the "GCC C++ Compiler" "Includes" or "Preprocessor" lists, deletes the entire list. The problem occurs even when a new workspace is created and settings are edited in a "Hello World" project.
The problems occur in CentOS 7 with either Mars and Luna and have been observed in two different systems. The Luna release had successfully been run with CentOS 6.

Like I said, I never checked before. There are more alert ringtones than I could ever care about, so I just never checked.
However, I did check my wife's iPhone 5S .... We are both running iOS 7.0.2 .... And she does have the Duck sound in Classic Ringtones in her settings while I do not have it on any of the devices that I have that are running iOS 7.0.2. That is odd, I suppose.
I will restart my iPad and check again in the morning.

RING TONE SETTINGS

I have a curve 8530... I just did a security wipe and for some reason all my contacts ringtones are set individually to classic ringtone which sucks...
How can I set my phone to ring with the active profile ringtone setting??? HELP PLEASE!!!

You can set a different tone for all email or all text messages by going into their resceptive apps, press menu and go to the settings. Once there you can change the notifications tone.
Have you update your preferred roaming list lately? Dial *228, option 2. You have been in an area when your phone says "Verizon Wireless" instead on someone else's towers i.e. "Extended Network" for the call to connect to the right place.

Classic - text ringtones work for one contact but not for others

Just got the new Blackberry classic. I'm having trouble with the ringtones for the text messages. The custom ringtone works for one contact but not for the others. I have taken the same custom ringtone that works for contact A and used it for contact B but it only works for A. B sounds the default ringtone from the default profile instead of the custom ringtone.
I have deleted all contacts and done a re-sync thinking something was corrupt. That didn't work.
None of the contacts have a link.
I have changed the notification profile and it still doesn't work.
I have deleted a contact and recreated it manually. It still doesn't work.
I finally deleted my dad's contact and from the phone app created a new contact. I set a custom ringtone for him and it worked. I of course had to recreate all his other information manually. Please tell me there is some other way to fix this than recreating manually all 147 contacts in my contact list.
I read that if the phone number has the hypen or space it won't work, but my dad's contact info that I created from the phone app has the hypen and it rings with the custom ringtone. Also contact A has no hypen in the phone number and it rings the custom ringtone. So that didn't seem to matter.
I have spent hours on Google and see that lots of people have had this problem (but not everyone) but have not yet found a solution.
Surely someone has found a fix for this issue.

Make sure that the contact has "Mobile" as the field for her number and not "iPhone".
Note that the iPad cannot send SMS messages.

Nokia 6124 classic - assigning ringtones

Can anyone help me with what seems like a trivial problem - I am a newbie as far as modern mobiles are concerned. I have just bought a Nokia 6124 classic from Vodaphone and am trying to associate a particular ring tone (piece of music) with a particular contact so that I know who is calling by the ring tone. I have been through the procedure for doing this but can't get it to work. Does the music need to be in a certain place? I can get a piece of music to work as a global ringtone with no problem. Hope someone can assist.

Thank you abhishekkai08 but I maybe didn't make myself clear. I have successfully associated the ring tone with the contact and the title of the piece of music appears in the 'ring tone' section of the contact's details. However, when that contact rings me I get the global ring tone and not the one I have set up. It is as though the setting up has just been ignored.

Group ringtones on 2600 classic

I've set up 4 specific contact groups, then gone into my general profile 4 times and assigned a ringtone to each group. Problem is, I then need a ringtone for everyone else, eg incoming calls that might not be in my contact list. If I go back into the general profile and set a ringtone to "all calls", this over-rides the group tones. I suspect I'm doing something dumb - can someone please help? Thanks, Marion.

Personalised ringtones on 6303 classic

Hi,
On my old E65 I was able to assign different ringtones to groups/individuals - a really handy feature. I don't seem to be able to do this on the 6303. Is that correct or have I missed something?

I can't think of any reason that it won't. Where are you storing your contacts? Did you copy them from the SIM card to the phone? If so, you may have duplicates on thr SIM card and that will not allow the assignment of individual ringtones.
If I have helped you with your problem in some way, please take a little time and hit the kudos button in my post. Without your feedback, I don't know if I am being helpful or should just be put out to pasture.

Having problems w/wifi itunes and ringtons..please please help me someone?!

the problem i am having is when i went and purchased a song off of wifi itunes..it went through fine BUT..wheni went to my computer to look up the song i just bought and it can be made into a ringtone..but when i sync the song and then tried to make it into a ringtone..it says "ethis song can not be mad into a ringtone"can no longer be made into a ringtone..but in the store on my computer it clearly has the bell next to it..so is the problem possibly that if you buy a song wifi..that you can not make it into a ringtone when you sync it to your computer..because its bought by wifi itunes..i dont know but can someone please help me on this.would really appreciate it.

I have the exact same problem. I returned my nano to apple about 2 weeks ago and they weren't able to duplicate it. I got the same nano back in the mail today, loaded up the songs that refused to play, and nothing was fixed.
This is my 6th apple product and 4th that I currently use and sync with my library. The songs I play on my other apple products (4g classic, iphone 3g, 2g nano) work perfectly. When I put them on my 4g they don't. If I convert the file, and then turn it back to .mp3 format it works...but with a library of nearly 700 gigs of music it seems like a hassle I or other apple customers shouldn't have to deal with.
I just got off the phone with a customer service rep, and he said the problem isn't with the nano, it's with the file. We got into a pretty good argument back and forth, but at the end of the day when file x works on every other product but this specific one, I'd say the problem lies with this one.
I keep crossing my fingers for a firmware update that will fix this, but as it stands I'm stuck deciding on whether or not I just want to give up on the 4g or convert my library to another format and then re-convert it back.

Next Firmware Update For Nokia 6303 classic Featur...

A. Software features should be Hardware based not to Nokia Legacy as if 3.2 Megapixels Camera works like 6233's 2 Megapixels camera. In Nokia 5800 camera is just 3.2 Megapixels but the capabilities are fine, if Nokia has no logic to upgrade the Software for its legacy then why do Nokia has to upgrade the Hardware in Legacy Nokia Operating System? Like in case of 6303.
B. Video Editor should be there in new update. A nice feature for creativity.
C. .mp4 should be supported by the Recording Video Option and should be 640x480 @30fps. Why not if 6303 can play .mp4 but would not record, is there any logic even the Camera CMOS is 3.2 Megapixels?
D. Lights Effect is a very good feature of 6303 and in my opinion it would be updated as another possibility to select it as Breather Light Effect such as Nokia 5800 XM, due to Silent Profile activated Handset Location assistance facility. User can find the set easily rather making a miss call to find out where the set is?
E. 15 fps is not sufficient to play smoothly in PC or convert the Movie in any Application to play it in SETTOP Box or General DVD Players. it should be @30 fps to play in PC or after convertion in DVD player.
F. Photo Editor should be included in Next Update as its not a justification to the Hardware rendered Engine limited by Firmware to edit the Photo and you get the jeggy .png. is not a joke performed in 6303?
G. SMS writing Window space should be enhanced to accomodate the full Text Window so that a user can review easily in one Window operation not by scrolling again and again as now available in 6303.
H. Display Brightness feature should be added to facilitate the user choice as the Hardware is supported in 6303's 16.7 M color LCD.
I. 3D Ringing tone effects should be added and the Volume of Startup Tone should be increased to its optimal, in recent Firmware it is very low.
J. SMS alert tone selection plays the tone in Level one Sound volume though the selected level is Five bar. it should be corrected in Future update.
K. Smart selection of To (address field) in Messaging by converting the Input as Numeric for Text Message and Alphanumeric for MMS. In recent Firmware it is Alphanumeric by default for SMS as well as MMS, which is annoying for SMS Sending.
L. Messages save in Memory Card or Phone Memory, option should be added.
M. It would be a bonus if .wmv .dvx .mov video formats are supported by next firmware in both situations like Recording option and Playing formats support.
Kindly notice NOKIA:
that by performing all above mentioned enhancements for 6303 classic, The 6303 classic would not become an N series or Touch considered Handset but it would justify its Hardware Capabilities selected by its manufacturer.
Its better to be legacy oriented NOKIA but the NOKIA OS legacy should be parallel with latest trends and Hardware based.
Its a good time to make better decisions towards connecting people with Modern Communications.

Isn't this the same as setting "light Effects=On" in the settings? Mine "breathes" away happily after a missed call.

Where are you adjusting this? I can only adjust ringtone volume not SMS alert tones....

Can someone explain what has happened to the "Classic" Text Tones such as Glass, Tritone? It was on my phone and last night they disappeared and I can find them anywhere.

All of the sudden those Classic tones are gone and I can't access them anymore. What happened to them? Makes me really upset because the new tones are so long.

I can't create ringtones

When I click on a purchased song to create a ringtone, an error box tells me I must AGREE to Apple's Terms of Service and tells me to click OK to redirect. When I click OK nothing happens. When I go manually to the Terms of Service it does not give me a box to click AGREE.

I found this way to create ringtones in a previous discussion and think it is the easiest way to do it
1. Open iTunes Library
2. Double click on the song you want to turn into a ringtone. Listen to the song and write down the approximate start and end times of the section you want to save as a ringtone, up to 40 seconds long.
3. Once you have determined the approximate start and end times, pause the playback of the song, right click on the song, and select "Get Info", then "Options".
4. Add a check to the Start Time box and type in the approximate start time. Then add a check to the Stop Time box and type in the stop time. Exit the Options section by clicking OK.
5. Still in iTunes Library, double click the song again to listen and verify that the start and stop times are eorrect. If the times need a slight adjustment, repeat steps 4 and 5 until you are satisfied.
6. Right click on the song again and select "Convert selection to AAC". This will create a new, separate, shortened song with the same name at the top of the iTunes library.
7. Right click on the new shortened song and select "Show in Windows Explorer". The title will appear in Explorer followed by _1.m4a . (If you don't see the file name extention ".m4a" in Explorer, you will need to go to Control panel (Classic view), Folder Options, View, and then uncheck the box next to "Hide extensions for known file types").
8. Right click on the songtitle_1.m4a file in Explorer and select Rename. Change the file name extension "m4a" to "m4r" and press Enter. You will get a warning about changing the file name extension, but click YES.
9. Now stay in that same Windows Explorer window and double click the new .m4r song. Instantly, iTunes will pop up, the song will appear in Ringtones, and it will start playing. (If it doesn't, try adding a "Ringtones" folder in "iTunes Music" directory.
10. Sync your iPhone with the computer and the new ringtone will appear under the Custom section.

Cannot customize contact notifications on BB Classic

I can get custom ringtones for different contacts, but I can't get custom notifications for contacts (a different tone for texts from a specific contact) to work. I see how it's supposed to work (notifications-> contact notifications -> choose a contact, etc.)...but no matter how I set it up, it just doesn't work. I get the same notification for everyone.
Is anyone else having this problem? Any solutions?

Ditto. I just purchased the classic from A&TT and I cannot change the text and email notifications for specific contacts. The ringtone is changed, but not these notifications. It shows them changed, but there is no sound when an email or text comes in from that contact. Do I have the sound turned off somewhere? I had a bold 9900, so this is my first experience with the 10 operating system. I'm not sure what the different profiles mean. Perhaps I don't have something switched on. Anyway, it is aggravating.

You will have to wait for a newer PC Suite then. Once there is one that does support your phone it will work. Also check that the datacable you are usiing is compatable with the phone.

How to I get my custom ringtones to play again?

Genius bar helped me restore photos and videos that didn't make it through last week's Icloud install on the new Iphone.
Only my default ringtone will play, It's an Itune purchased ringtone. All my other custom ringtones (some purchased, some that came with the Iphone) are still
loaded with the appropriate contacts, but all of those ring as the default.
I've tried resaving the tunes or changing the purchased ones to ones originated in the Iphone but anything marked custom rings as default.
Any suggestions?
Other weird things happened too since last night's erasing of the phone to restore to last week's backup...airplane mode was on when I woke up, and wi fi turned itself off overnight.

You should have copied the complete iTunes Library, including the iTunes Library.itl file, which, as far as I know, contains all the Play Counts from the existing (old) iTunes and pasted that into your new computer.
Again, as far as I understand it, the total Play Count is not held on the Classic. If it was, it would not include plays within the iTunes Library. All the iPod does is remember how many plays since the last sync and tell iTunes to increase the Play Count by that number.
