Classification view in General Tab

Dear all,
Our company is implementing SAP and I am very new to QM/PM. I have come across a SAP note regarding calibration paper in which it was stated that dynamical fetching of constant is possible when maintained in the classification of the equipment. In that paper I have seen classification view under general tab. But in our system, under general tab, I have General Data, Reference Data & Manufacturer Data only. My question is How can I bring the Classification view under this tab?
Please advise.

Are you referring to the Reference Table functionality in the characteristic (under the Addnl Data tab)??
This can be used in an equipment (and other objects) to return data from the standard transaction fields into the characteristic e.g. Manufacturer.

How to add new value in Classification under General tab via MM02.

Hello Experts,
I've a requirement where I need to add a new material variant configuration value via MM02 as highlighted below. I've also attached the screen shot of CL02, the two characteristics which I need to add (highlighted in red).
Can please anybody tell me the steps to add value in Classification under General tab via MM02.

Use transaction CL02 , open class in PCL_222_PURO_BOX with class type 300
add characterstic
PCH_COSTING_WGT_DETERM
PCH_COSTING_WGT_A_DETERM
save it.
Now use MM02 and go to classification view , now you would be able to see these characterstic there.
Check and come back.

"Inconsistent" tab appearing in Classification View of MMR

Hi all,
We are maintaining different characteristics in Classification view of MMR. when we are changing the value of characteristic through a program we are getting a new tab "Inconsistence".
Can someone please throw a light on this as to why this tab is appearing and how it could be resolved?

How to update/open Classification view of Batch in production Order

Hi All,
I have maintained the Class (023) and characterstics for Finished Material. When I am creating the production order, I am assigning new batch number in Production Order Header (Goods Receipt Tab).
In the background system is creating the Batch but not updating/opening the Classification view.
Every time I required to go T code MSC2N and required to open the classification view manually.
How to open the classification view during production order creation?

Hi,
You can only assign the Batch number in the production order, that meanas the said batch will get blocked and will not get saved in the Data base. You can enter the Batch number in the Production order and a while doing the GR you can make the system prompt the Classification view in the for ground so that you can enter the Characteristic values..
For the above to pop-up you need to enter the Value "3" in the Batch Classification field of the Production Scheduling profile created for the Plant in the Tcode : OPKP.
Please read the below information for additional inputs :
Option to classify batches
Specifies that the system branches to batch classification upon a goods movement or when you create or change a batch (not in the material master).
Use
If a batch is classified during a certain transaction or event, you can then use the batch determination facility to search for batches by class characteristics at the time of goods issue.
Procedure
If you work with batch classification, set this indicator for all receipt-specific movement types so that all existing batches are classified.

Please follow the below steps.
Creating the Classification View using the Function module 'BAPI_OBJCL_CREATE'.
Check the Class Type and Class Number which you are passing.
Generally it will be Class type - 001 (Material Class) and Number will be ENGINEERING.
It depends.
But, what you can do is, Check material which has classification data filled.
And just use the same class Type and Class Number Details.
Try this way.It should work.
To know the Available Class Types refer to table TCLA.

Create classification view with inbound MATMAS_BAPI iDoc

Hi there,
We receive material master data from our customers and create them in our SAP system using a MATMAS_BAPI mssage type.
Now we should also create the classification view of the materials with a certain classification type and value.
The MATMAS_BAPI message type does not have segments to create the classification view.
Doe anybody know what the standard procedure is to achieve this?

classification is transported with CLFMAS IDOC.
Classification is in general independend master data, that has its own area in the SAP menu and IMG.
It is just an embedded functionality in manual material master maintenance.
For data transfers it is an extra step and not included in MATMAS IDOC and BAPI.

MM Classification View

Hi all,
I want the good explanation about the MM Claasification view.
I am new to the sap.
I have to update the classification view. But In bapi_material_savedata, there is no provision for that.
First i need to understand the classification and tables involved and how they are related to the material etc.
and the concept of classification.
And i also need the information of how to update the classisfication view(technically).
Any document or link availbale to satify my needs.

Material Classification view at plant level

My company has multiple plants set up with materials and I would like to know on the business side if there is a way to tell if the Classification view tab is missing for plant & material.
I've tried using SE16 MARA, table view, but it show materials at the client level with Classification view but not set up at the plant level. Tks,

Which Class type are you using in the classification view? What batch classification you can use is dependent on the batch level you have chosen.
E.g. if your batch level is plant, then you have 022 batch class, While for material and client level you have Class Type 023. If you are going by the above e.g then you should be looking in to tables like MCHA, MCHB..........
You might be interested in following tables if you are using Classification.

I want to get the material master User-exits for the classification view

Hi , All
I want to insert new data in the classification view of material master date, and I want to check it. I cannot find the user-exit to realize it. Can someone help me ?

I understand you want to create a new characteristic for a classification. If that is the case, then you could have checks on the characteristic value entered. You can go to tcode CT04, enter the characteristic and go to the value tab. You can assign allowed values for that characteristic. Going to Other Value Check in that view, you can also check the entered value against a check table or even create a function module for custom check.

SID table in the general tab and master data/text tab

Hello Bi Experts,
For example 0material Info-object:
There is a SID table in the general tab i.e /BI0/SCOMP_CODE
There is another SID table Attribute in the master data/text tab i.e /BI0/XCOMP_CODE,here there are Nav attributes with name S__0COMPANY.
When i got 0company info-object it got its own SID table i.e /BI0/SCOMPANY
Can some body explain me what is significance of SID table Attribute in the master data/text tab and what is difference with SID Table of attribute?

Hi,
SID is surrogate ID generated by the system. The SID tables are created when we create a master data IO. In SAP BW star schema, the distinction is made between two self contained areas: Infocube & master data tables/SID tables.
The master data doesn't reside in the satr schema but resides in separate tables which are shared across all the star schemas in SAP BW. A numer ID is generated which connects the dimension tables of the infocube to that of the master data tables.
The dimension tables contain the dim ID and SID of a particular IO. Using this SID the attributes and texts of an master data Io is accessed.
The SID table is connected to the associated master data tables via teh char key
Sid Tables are like pointers in C
Tables Starting with Description:
M - View of master data table
Q - Time Dependent master data table
H - Hierarchy table
K - Hierarchy SID table
I - SID Hierarchy structure
J - Hierarchy interval table
S - SID table
Y - Time Dependent SID table
T - Text Table
F - Fact Table - Direct data for cube ( B-Tree Index )
E - Fact Table - Compress cube ( Bitmap Index )

I need to create Classification View for a Material. The user would provide the data in the file, example

I read in the posts there is BAPI_OBJCL_CREATE. But I am not able to Map the above fields to pass to this BAPI.
Can someone please suggest me how to do this..

Thanks for the suggestion. But i want to do this through a program. There is a selection screen with 6 radio buttons based o view to be created and an input field for the filename.

How to get the values inputted by the user in Classification view of MM02

Hello,
Does anyone know how to get the inputted values in Classification view of MM02/MM01? I tried to use CLAF_CLASSIFICATION_OF_OBJECTS but this gets the values that is currently saved in the tables and not the values that the user recently inputted in the screen.

Rather than go to the home page I have specified in the General tab of Options in the Tools menu, Firefox keeps going to a truncated version of this url.

I have used the following URL as my firefox home page for quite some time:

Several months ago, malware of some sort replaced this url with one of their own. I got rid of the malware and put back my original home page, but I'm continuing have a problem: Every time firefox goes to my home page, rather than using the whole url that I've specified, firefox truncates this url to just the first 87 characters, and goes to this truncated url instead:
https://www.google.com/search?num=100&safe=off&hl=en&complete=0&q=Rochester-NY+CDC.gov+
Not only is this not the url that I have specified in the General tab under Options in the Tools menu, I always get an error message in an additional tab whenever Firefox goes to this truncated version of my home page. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get firefox to use the entire url I have specified as my home page in the General Tab under Options?
I do not know if this is relevant or not, but I noticed that prefs.js includes two other user prefs related to the home page in addition to the one that identifies the url I chose:
