CLASSPATH settings for finding ResourceBundle files

When trying to load a PropertyResourceBundle within my servlet I receive the Exception MissingResourceBundle.
My CLASSPATH points to %TOMCAT_HOME%/webapps/<webapp>/data, which is the location of the *.properties-files.
OS: Win2K
Tomcat: 4.0
JRE: 1.3.0 (although J2SDK 1.4 is installed as well)
Also I want to access the properties-files from JSP's at that location as well.
ADowning
PS:
when placing the properties-files in %TOMCAT_HOME%/work/localhost/<webapp> I can access them from JSP's.

Thank you.
Just one thing :
I use Eclipse to generate my applications.
I have to put my property files on the root source folder (/java Source) else the property file was suppressed when rebuild classes files. The property is automaticaly copied to the classes folder when rebuild.
I think a good way is to not directly use the property file name, but put this name on an init parameter of the web.xml file (use config.getInitParameter("logicalName") to retrieve).
So, if I only specifie the file Name, the /classes/fileName.properties that will be used but I can specifie a "hard path" to this file.
Regards.

I hope this discussion can be revived. I have the same problem. There seem to be quite a few Japanese sites that don't bother specifying their encoding. Perhaps they are older and from a time when it was not necessary to adhere to standards. Examples: http://www1.plala.or.jp/CUE/cave_yozawa.html, http://chigaku.web.fc2.com/saitama/sanchi/youzawa/youzawa.html. Happy to upload screenshots, but how?
Is there a way to tell Safari what encoding to use if the web page fails to do that?

  • Classpath root for locating properties file?

I'm trying to read a property file from a pluggable Reports destination. I've tried placing it in the domain root and in the domain lib folder (I'm sure it was picked up there in a previous release) but I can't appear to find it.
What is a general classpath root that could be used for storing properties files in?
    Thanks in advance,
    Nik

Open your %DOMAIN_HOME%/server/AdminServer/logs/AdminServer.log and search for java.class.path.
You'll see all classpath roots available, I'm using %DOMAIN_HOME%/config/soa-infra.

  • Equalizer settings for read-only files

    Ok here is my problem:
I have a lot of cds imported from my earlier years as an MS user. The files are stored in mp3 format on CDs. Now I want to create one huge library in iTunes, importing the data of the files but not the files themselves, so I can make use of the volume and equalizer settings that I want to adjust per file.
Please note that the actual file I am talking about is sitting on the CD which means it's read-ony. What I want is to load desired bits off CDs onto my iPod so I can hear the files in my car.
I noticed that the file data is stored in the preferences file and I can see a difference between a file with and one without an equalizer seting applied - it does or doesn't have an equalizer category in the respective xml file area.
Now I have realised that when importing CDs, the files will be analysed so the volume adjustment will be done - but I cannot choose any equalizer settings. It doesn't even matter whether the respective CD is in the drive or not.
Now it is not really useful importing dozens of CDs without being able to use what I regard as the most prominent killer feature of iTunes - the EQ settings stored per file.
Does anyone know a solution? Is this intended or is there a mistake on my side?
mac mini   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Ok - I will try again, sorry for this mess.
I have files on CD. I can import them into iTunes - they show up, they are being put into the database. But since I did choose the option to NOT copy the files to the library, they are ONLY on CD.
This is what I want - only the reference to the files, with all data such as equalizer and volume settings. The reason for this is lack of space.
I still want the stuff inside iTunes - so I can easily synchronize them with my iPod only inserting the CD and plugging in my iPod.
The problem is: I cannot edit the equalizer settings as long the files are only on CD. I could, of course, copy the CD to HD temporarily. But that would not leave me with a reference to CD - it would generate a reference to a place on the HD which - I guess - means I'd have to copy the CD back to HD again, then synchronize my iPod.
I cannot believe I am the first person to think of something like that, even though HD space is not so precious anymore these days.

  • Project Settings for Multiple Video Files?

In PRE 8, I am attempting my first HD project. I have several different types of video files that friends sent me from a sports event, the video files are AVCHD (1920?), QT Movie (1280x720), and QT Movie (1920x1088). When I create a new project, what PROJECT SETTINGS should I select? I am not sure what to select since I am using different video file formats. The video files are currently on my hard drive.
I also have lots of pix (jpg) from different cameras, some are as large as 5184x3456. For the picture files, should I bulk process them through PSE to resize them? If so, what should  the maximum size be for the HD project?
    Thank you in advance.
    Howard

Hi Steve - in the list of NTSC project presets, there is not a "DSLR" selection; there is "AVCHD", "DV", "Hard Disk/Flash", and "HDV". Am I missing something?
As you suggested, I used the "AVCHD 1920x1080" preset for the Vixia files. I imported one 9-second file in the project as a test and the video is choppy after rendering. I have a new HP computer with an I7-930 quad-core processor, 8GB RAM, and an ATI HD 5770 graphics card so I think there is enough cycles to process the video files. Any suggestions?
Thank you very much for answering my questions on a Sunday.

    Hi SAP champs,
I am working on a IDOC to File XI scenerio. But I am confused while configuring connection settings at XI system and R/3 system. I am finding problem in transaction IDX2 to maintain the IDOC metadata. Please let me know the complete step by step system cofigurations in XI and R/3 systems for the scenerio. Thanks in advance..

    Hi Sanjeev,
We upload Medata in IDX2 to just reduce runtime effort and hence to improve the performance. However it is not a mandetory step to be performed for R/3 TO XI scenario.
You are confused just because here you dont find any F4 help to select the metadata and the PORT.

  • Need help with classpath configuration for external jar files

We have coded our own JAAS login module, and it uses classes located in jar files, and these jar files were not created using SAP dev studio, e.g. they were provided by a third party vendor as a set of tools.
So, how do we deploy these jar files so that our SAP JAAS login module can find them ? We found we can run consoleconfig.sh to change the classpath which SAP J2EE engine uses, but we wondered if there was a better way to do this. Of course, if the jar files were created by us, we can include them in the dev studio project and they would be deployed using SDM, and this would not require any changes to classpath using consoleconfig.sh
Thankyou in advance for your help.

I noticed nobody has sent any feedback on this yet, so I wondered if I have posted to the wrong forum ? Any thoughts on this ?
    Thanks,
    Tim

  • Changing settings for Finder

    Hi,
When I open finder at the bottom of the window it tells me how much space is available but I'd rather it tell me how much space a given folder is using. Where do I find the settings so that it will display how much space a given file or folder is using?
    Thanks,

You can single-click on or arrow to the desired folder and press Space, and Quick Look will show you the total space nested within that folder. I don't think building this functionality would be very resource-friendly and I don't recall any other OSes having this displayed at all times. My Home folder, for example, contains my iTunes library, Library folders, Downloads, etc.
If there were the option to constantly update folder sizes in Finder, I would be among the first to turn it off, especially if I were running off of battery power.

  • Projects settings for AVCHD MTS files in Adobe Premiere Elements 8

    Hello,
I have read several discussions already, about importing AVCHD MTS file in Adobe Elements (version 8), but I'm also confused a littlebit, so I would like to confirm if I'm correct.
FYI, I have a Canon Legria HFR26 camera and am using Adobe Premiere Elements 8 (with the latest updates installed).
According to the specs in the Canon instruction manual:
Videos are recorded in high definition using AVCHD specifications
    (MPEG-4/H.264 compression).
    Audio compression: Dolby Digital 2ch
The camera supports making video's in different format, but I have done it in the default SP format, which results in a resolution of 1440x1080 (50 fields per second, interlaced).
I have copied the video from the camera to my harddisk, and Windows also mentions the video's as AVCHD of 1440x1080 (Bitrate 7672kbps).
The frame rate is 25 frames/second. I assume this is correct for 50i?
So, when I import my video's into Adobe Elements 8, I select the following projects settings:
    PAL, AVCHD, HD 1080i 25
Because the description matches my video files:
    - For editing with 1440x1080i AVCHD camcorders.
    - 16:9 interlaced HD video at 25 frames per second.
    - 48kHz audio.
The video's are imported correctly and I can play them. However, as soon as I drop a video on the timeline, Adobe immediately starts background rendering the video (a red line appears on the timeline).
What I understand from some discussions, is that this shouldn't happen, because the video format doesn't match the project settings. On the other hand, I have also read that for Adobe Elements 8 this is normal behaviour and it always start background rendering AVCHD video's.
Is this expected behaviour or should I chance my projects settings or maybe even convert my video files to a different format?
    Thanks,
    Michiel

The ability to work natively with AVCHD files was not added until version 10, Michiel. So you'll still have to render while you work in version 8.

  • System settings for imported p2 files in fcp

    Hello, Everyone
My name is Jackie and I am new to the apple disciussion forum. So I hope I am doing this right. I need help exporting my Project. Currently I am exporting using Quick Time Movie within FCP and the quality of the files are awful. I understand that my mxf files (footage originally shot with P2 hd cards) are imported as quicktime files but I was under the impression that the quality of my footage would stay the same.I think maybe some of my settings are incorrect just not sure what they should be dvntsc or hdv 720 p60 as far as sequence presets. Maybe I am completly off base. currently I have exported sequences using qt movie in hopes to create a dvd but every time the quality is really fuzzy. Please educate me.
    Sincerely, Jackie

    Welcome to the forums.
Imported P2 files are the exact same quality as the original MXF files. And the codec they employ is DVCPRO HD. Might be 720p, might be 1080i...whatever format you shot. Zero quality loss.
Exporting for...what? how? You must know tht you cannot judge the quality of the footage on your computer monitor...
    #2 Blurry Playback
Shane's Stock Answer #2: Blurry playback
ONLY JUDGE THE QUALITY OF YOUR MATERIAL ON AN EXTERNAL BROADCAST MONITOR, OR AT LEAST A TV.
The Canvas shows you what happens after the codec you are working with has been applied. The Viewer shows you the material in its native format. Once you drop the footage from the Viewer into the timeline, it inherits the attributes of the sequence. If it is a DV sequence, the footage will render out as DV.
    1. Disable overlays on the Canvas.
    2. Make sure you've rendered everything (no green bars at the top of the timeline).
Video playback requires large amounts of data and many computations. In order to maintain frame rate and be viewable at a normal size, only about one-fourth of the DV data is used in displaying the movie to the screen. However, the DV footage is still at full quality, and is best viewed thru a TV or broadcast monitor routed thru your camera or deck.
TO view your HD files you need to get a capture card and an HD monitor.

  • Best Sequence settings for JVC Everio files (TOD format)

I own a JVC Everio camcorder, and I recorded some videos if Full HD (1920 X 1080).  I loaded the TOD files to my computer and converted them to MPEGs using the bundled PowerDirector program.  When I play these HD MPEG files in Windows Media Player, they look fantastic.  Very smooth color and no pixelation.
I loaded these files into a Premier Pro CS4 project because I need to perform some simple editing (trim in/out points, small rotation, and color correction).  I created a sequence using the AVCHD 1080p square pixel preset, which has the following settings:
    AVCHD 1080p square pixel
    29.97 frames/second
    Square pixels
    Progressive scan
    30 fps Drop-Fram time code
    48kHz audio
    I-Frame Only MPEG
Maximum Bit Depth, Maximum Render Quality
When I play the video files using either the Source or Project Monitor, the quality of the files appears degraded compared to what I see through Windows Media Player.  I'm concerned that I'm not using the correct settings to best work with this source video format.
Should I change either the Program or Sequence settings to optimize for this file format, or is Windows Media Player performing some magic in the background?
    Thanks,
    Matthew
    Specs:
    Premier Pro CS4 4.2.1
    Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
Intel Core i7 860 @ 2.67 GHz (having some overheating issues, so no overclocking)
    8 GB DDR3 RAM
ATI Radeon HD 5700 Graphics Card

This ARTICLE might offer some tips on the TOD files.
    Good luck,

  • Permissions / umask settings for saving a file

When saving a file using either acrobat itself or the acrobat plug in for firefox the umask settings of the linux system are not honored. The file gets saved with permissions 600 instead of permissions 644. This is a problem for users who save files in shared directories that are accessed by other users. Currently, users need to manually adjust the permissions of the file after they save it when they save onto a shared directory so that other users can view the pdf.
Is there anyway to override the acrobat defaults for this?

I have the same problem. We have to share pdf files with other users.  I tested with different Adobe readers (8.x , 9.x ). I tested on RH Linux and on Solaris - always the same result. File permissions after saving are 600 (rw-------) instead of 644 (rw-r--r--).  Adobe reader ingores the systems standard umask.
    Any help whould be great.

  • Premission settings for users creating files and folder on my XServe

I am setting up a new Xserve and we are basically using it as a file server. I have a user that logs on creates and new folder and a file. When any one else opens that file it is READ ONLY. What do I need to do to make it so when any of my users create a file or folder on the server any one of my users can have READ/WRITE permission to the files?

Can you elaborate?  I am not aware of any m3u playlist being present but maybe there is.  I have done this many times before.  I move tons of files around in my music folder, add/delete/change, and rather than have iTunes try to figure it all out again, I just remove everything out of iTunes and add my entire folder back.  I've done it probably 50 times in the past and now, when I do it, it's creating playlists for every single folder or album or something, just as the original poster has described.  I do not like the behavior and would like to turn it off now!  I'm on Mac so iTunes Folder Watch will not work for me.  Any suggestions?

  • Default settings for opening EPS files

When opening an Illustrator-made EPS in Photoshop, there is a "Rasterize EPS" dialog box, which you can specify the width, height, and resolution.  What are the default values for those fields based on?  Is there a way to change the default so that it is always set to open at 300dpi, for example?
    Thanks!

A big thanks to Mr J Maloney, this is an excellent work around, however... (there's always a however), for some unknown reason, somewhere in the batch/droplet process, unlike CS3, CS4 automatically changes the colour mode to RGB, even although I set the action up to open the EPS as CMYK.
I know that I could put an additional step in the action to convert to CMYK, which works, however for my specific requirements this doesn't work for me because all the black text in the EPS file which I specifically set in a previous app to be non-rich black (100K) changes to rich black if this additional step is put in, despite the image now being CMYK.
The problem is that my work requires me to batch process hundreds of; CMYK, 300ppi EPS files and convert these into; CMYK, 300ppi JPG's for print (our printers only accept hi-res JPG's*). The problem is that our printers do not accept any text in rich black, so we have to convert the all black text to 100K. As there are also sometimes photo images along side the text, this makes it impossible to select just the text in a batch process situation, where all teh images are different.
It seems to me that unlike CS3, CS4 almost seems to dictate that all EPS to JPG batch conversion's are for the Web hence it's RGB 72ppi defaults. However there are some people such as myself who need to retain control over the ppi and colour modes for the purposes of print and not web, so my long winded question is.......
.....Does anyone know how to stop this RGB conversion in CS4?
(Sorry about the length of this post, *and no, sadly I cannot change my printers)

Went through the articles and found them to be very very useful.
However there is one question that I have for you.
Is it possible to package an application that uses webflows and pipelines into
an ear file and then deploy it?
If this is possible then where do I package my webflow files(.wf)?
This is something that I have been trying but not been able to acheive. Would
