Clean Installation of Win8 on Pre-Installed G710 with Win8

I have a new G710 with Pre-Installed Win8. I want to perform a clean installation of Win8. I have many reasons to do that: Disk partitions are not in the right sizes, the new computer is full with unwanted programs. I see that this issue is common to many users and there is no clear answer. If one of you knows how to do that and willing to share his solution with the forum, please do that. My impression is that Lenovo blocks the possibility to make clean installation using our current windows key and not providing us with proper installation media. The only solution they give us is using the recovery key or preparing recovery USB/DVD that replicate the un-wanted installation (Both solution didnt work in my computer).

I have virtually the exact same configuration, whenever I install Windows I have to pull the HDD Caddy, put the Superdrive back in and run from bootcamp as usual. I have found no other way to install the initial Windows as a dual boot system (Vista or Win7).
My issue is that I picked up the Win8 upgrade and installed it from USB - everything is fine until the system reboots at which point it goes to the standard Window boot problems screen and says it cannot start up Win8 as it cannot find various files, it offers to drop back to Win7 which then starts up fine.
So, my question is having progressed a little futher down the line, any ideas why Win8 is not seeing the files during the boot process. The only thing I can see the base file systems may not be compatible.
Thanks to anyone who cna help.

  • Re-Install G710 with Win 8

I Purchased a new G710 and found that Disk partitions is not like I want. Most of Disk is C and rest is D. I want to Make D larger (Document partition). I know that in this way Recovery Key will not function (I prefer not using it in a case C is Doc disk because Recovery Key will delete all Data). I know that I can Shrink C and enlarge D (by Partition Magic for ex), but I prefer to make clean installation of Win8. My problem is to achieve Install Disk of Win8. Does Recovery Disks of Lenovo contain Win8? or, where to obtain it as a customer that own Win8 License?

    Hi Zamir,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m sorry to inform you that the license will not get backed up if recovery media is created, to make Windows 8 the key is pre-injected in to Motherboard, I suggest you to create “USB Recovery Drive” and perform clean installation
NOTE: Please backup the data in the computer before performing clean install, as the data will be completely erased, below is the link for steps to create “USB Recovery Drive”
    Create a USB Recovery Drive
Do post us back if the issue persists

  • Anyone use Pre-installed media with UPRELOAD before on tablet 1051?

So after much arguing with phone support they sent me a recovery USB from Windows 8.1 32bit. The program will boot from boot menu but it's not like any Windows update I've ever seen. It just says preloading forever after selecting my 10-inch tablet size and en-us.
I've attached amy imgur album with two photos here.

It was my understanding that this would just install like a normal OS and recognize the internal key. Really starting to regret updating windows 10, rather have a working system than an updated brick lol!

    Hi,
I recommend you use Boot Camp to create partition.
Boot Camp is a multi boot utility included with Apple Inc.'s OS X that assists users in installing Microsoft Windows operating systems on Intel-based Macintosh computers.

  • Pre-installed win 8.1 and new hard disk

Goodevening, I have a G50-30 with win8.1 pre-installed. I didnt recived any disk, no driver disk, no software disk, no windows disk, even no windows product key.
Anyway, I'd like to change my hdd to ssd. So i've started with trying to create a windows-boot-copy using some free software to get  the windows product key, in order to use a microsoft tool to create a boot-disk, but the product key i get results invalid, it doesnt' work. Microsoft support suggested me to ask lenovo, about my problem, so does anyone have a suggestion for me?

    hi Matteo,
    Welcome to the Forums.
    Can you try the following:
    1. Check this guide on how to obtain a Windows 8.1 ISO (see Option One)
    2. Follow this guide to make a bootable UEFI Win8.1 installer via DVD/USB flashdrive and use it to install Windows (the installation should be able to detect the Windows 8.1 product key in the UEFI firmware that should automatically activate Windows).
    Let me know your findings.

  • Distributing AIR as pre-install on OEM PCs

    Hello,
We are building an application using AIR that we wish to distribute with the AIR run-time. My question is regarding licensing for distributing our software.
    1) We have completed the AIR run-time distribution agreement, which I understand covers us for didstributing our software ourselves.
    2) We are pursuing pre-install deals with PC OEMs to include our software on their systems.
For #2, in cases where the OEM installs our software at the factory, does our AIR distribution license cover that, or does the OEM need to have a distribution license in place as well? What are our options?
    Thanks,
    -CRM

    Hi,
I'm not sure about OEM installation distributions so I've forwarded your question on and will get back to you soon.
Moved discussion to the Adobe AIR Development forum.
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • What is the procedure for a clean installation retaining all data?

I'm preparing for Lion and would like t make sure that I install on a clean system.  I've had Time Machine running for a couple of years but being a conservative computer user I would like a secondary backup of all data from my three user accounts on this iMac.  Is there a preferred documented procedure for this task, keeping in mind that Lion is reported to be available only as a download.

Nobody who knows can say.  The published stuff isn't clear on the point, so we'll have to wait for the announcement.
In theory, you may be able to clone your SL installation to an external, download the installer to it, then erase the internal and install it there, but we really don't know yet.
Especially since Snow Leopard, though, clean installs rarely accomplish anything.  Installing just gets a fresh copy of OSX and the default Apple apps, without leaving any detritus behind.  Any number of folks haven't done one in many years, with no ill effects.
Yes, secondary backups are strongly recommended.  See #27 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions for some suggestions.

  • Can i uninstall the pre-installed final cut express?

There is the deal that when you buy a new mac you save a lot on final cut express.
The only problem is it comes pre-installed.
Could i uninstall it where i could use it on a different computer?

For what it's worth, at least over the past 3 years, each time I have purchased the 'pre-installed' FCE with new Macs, it has always been delivered as a CD/DVD bundle that I have to install myself. It has never actually come pre-installed on the HD.

  • Photoshop CC 2015 Keeps Failing to Install: Problem With a Patch

    Hi all,
I tried to install Photoshop. I got pretty far but then the installing stopped and bright orange letters popped up saying Installation Failed or something similar to that. I clicked on the Learn More link next to the message.
It said  there was a problem with one of the patches, so it failed to install. It told me to re-try in a few minutes.
A few minutes later, I re-tried it and now it says Update Failed  - Learn More. I kept re-trying and it ends up doing the same thing over and over.
It told me to contact customer support.
    ..so here I am.
    How do I fix this?
    Thanks

Benh89930539 I would recommend reviewing the installation log files for update which is failing to apply.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation log files at Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC. You are welcome to post any specific errors located to this discussion.

  • What is the 0x80070570 error when installing Win7 or Win8 or Win 8.1 on a clean SSD/HDD ?!

    Hello,
My computer was working perfectly with Win7 for about 2years until I formatted on monday to clean a little bit my drives ... Since then I'm unable to install windows again. I have the 0x80070570 error.
    The complete error message is:
Windows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure that all files required for installation are available and restart the installation. Error code:0x80070570.
What is the 0x80070570 error when installing Win7 or Win8 or Win 8.1 on a clean SSD/HDD ?! These versions are full from MSDN.
    What I did already:
    check my RAM (16go gskill)
    remove unnecessary hard drives
replace my "old" SSD with a clean new one
    remove my sound cards
remove the mouse and use only keyboard
    reset the BIOS
check every LED on the motherboard (asus sabertooth z77) and there is no problem
    What are the problems?
    Thanks,
    Adrien.

    Hi,
If all images cannot be installed, we have a reason to suspect the hardware cause.
If you use two memory slots to get 16G RAM, I suggest you test with just one (8G) to check the result.

  • CS5.5 Web Premium   OS 10.10 = Inconsistency in the installer database. Is there something to resolve this?  Cleaner did not work-BC, not installed.

I have CS5.5 Web Premium for Mac.  I have been using it on my old PowerBook on Yosemite for several months. I just purchased a new PowerBook with Yosemite and cannot get the software to install.  I purchased an external drive, LG Portable DVD Writer.  I first thought that this was the failure point, but, since then, I was about to install MS Office.  Many times the CD spins insanely without allowing me to install.  However three times now, I've made it to the point just passed entering the ID, which was successful (I have a screenshot).  I get to a point of the Installation Status that reports:  Your installation encountered errors.  Please try restarting your system and installing again.  Inconsistency in the installer database. Please restart your computer and install again.  After determining that would not resolve the problem, I began doing a little research and found that there was an Exit 15 error in the error log.  I then  downloaded the CS Cleaner Tool.  The application returned this message:  The following installations were found on your system.  The dialog box was empty.  I then decided to try to download the application this morning while I was on a dog walk.  It appears that the file downloaded and I was able to initiate the installation. However, shortly after that, I can an error message stating that it has timed out.  I tried again to install it from the finder, but, it does nothing.  I am out of ideas!  Please send me the magic answer!  Thanks!  Mary

    Hello kglad,
Thanks for taking the time to reply.  I did that today, and got the exact same error message.
This is what I've tried now..
Copying installation files to desktop and installing.
    Downloading installation files to desktop.
Any other ideas?  It seems as though there is some kind of "conflict" where old files need to be removed.  However, my earlier assessment found that those files do not exist, since nothing is actually installed yet.

  • HT4718 Problem to re-download Lion for clean install as it was pre-installed.

After problems on my system and 2 visits to the apple store, the genius recommend to re-install clean Lion.
As I use the recovery HD, and ask to re-install Lion from the internet, it asked me my apple ID but then stop the process and says that apple ID did not purchase Lion. I did not purchase it from the App store as it was pre-installed on my Imac bought in July 2011. So obviously I cannot re-download it from the App store.
How do I get to re-install a clean Lion then?

You have fallen victom to this new system as your Mac originally came with Snow Leopard and was upgraded to Lion somehow, before you purchased it. Which means that the Lion download system sees your system as one that did NOT come with Lion Preinstalled which means you must of bought Lion from the MAS.
About the only options you have is to take it back to the Apple store you originally went to and ask them to reinstall Lion. Also explain what happens and get a copy of Lion from them on USB stick along with a set of original system discs.
Call Apple and explain the problem and ask them to send out both the Original Install discs, which will be for Snow Leopard, and a copy of Lion on USB thumb drive. You NEED the original install disc for that unit as otherwise you will not be able to install the iLife apps from the MAS without buying them as only units that actually came with Lion Pre-Installed are allowed to download the iLife Apps free from the MAS.
You are between a Rock and a Hard Place.

  • If Mountain Lion is pre-installed on my Macbook, can I re-download the installer on the App Store?

    I buy 2012 Macbook Air with Mountain Lion pre-installed;
Am I able to re-download the Mountain Lion installer from the App Store, without cost?

No. What's installed on the computer is unique and licensed just to that computer. If you need to reinstall it you would use OS X Lion- About Lion Recovery.

  • Trying to simplify future clean installs of OS X Can I install Photoshop CS6 in ~/Applications on separate volume?

I prefer to do clean installs of each new OS X version (and I am aware of the debate whether that is necessary or not; it's just something I prefer to do).
To simplify this, I have been thinking of partitioning my Macbook's SSD into two volumes, one smaller for OS X and one larger for my user folder. The user volume would hold the usual stuff like images, music, document and settings, plus any software I install myself.
I use "Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended Student and Teacher Edition". I am now wondering if, were I to point the CS6 installer to the Applications subfolder in my user folder, everything will be placed there or will the installer place files also on the OS X volume? If the former is true, then I should be able to wipe the OS X volume as necessary to do a fresh install, but if the latter is the case, then I would break the CS6 installation when I wipe the OS X volume.
If the above doesn't work, are there any other ways to install CS6 to simplify future clean installs of OS X?
Sorry for the newbie questions and many thanks in advance for your help
    Philip

Many of the Adobe Creative applications now have the ability to sync your settings through your account.  I would recommend inquiring more regarding the syncing of settings in the respective forums for those applications.  You can find a list of available forums at https://forums.adobe.com/welcome.  I would also recommend reviewing the following documents:

  • MacBook Pro with Lion pre-installed. How to get installer?

Ok, so I purchased a shiny new MacBook Pro 15" yesterday, which came with Lion pre-installed.
I am planning to downgrade to Snow Leopard. Don't ask me why, I just don't want Lion at this time.
My question is: how do I get a Lion installer, which I can put away somewhere safe until I'm ready to upgrade to Lion again? My MBP came with a Lion license, so I shouldn't have to buy it again, right?
    Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

No need to buy another license, all you have to do is create a Lion Recovery USB (perhaps 2 for safety)
1: USB 1+ GB formatted GUID OS X Extended Journaled in Disk Utility
2: Lion Recovery Disk Assistant > USB
    https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1433
3: Optional: Carbon Copy Cloner your present Lion OS X partition to a external GUID OS X Extended drive, it's hold the option key bootable.
(hold option to boot from USB if you need it)
