Clean reinstall XP but cannot register O/S - Microsoft does not accept product key

Hardware : Lenovo ThinkPad X60,    Type 1707-CTO,     Product ID : 1707-W4G
Software :   Windows XP Pro version 2002 with SP3
I purchased my laptop second-hand and did not have the installation CD. I borrowed a friend's CD and did a full reinstall . The reinstall went well, but I cannot register the license. Microsoft always returns error message saying product key invalid.   I am sure that the product key is valid - the sticker is still on the unit. I finally got in touch with Microsoft. They told me I would need a recovery CD from Lenovo. Is this correct? What do I have to do to get a recovery CD ? Any help would be appreciated - only a few days remaining to register.

If your Apple ID was changed from your old account, you may have to change it back to your old account to be able to sign out and then change it back after that is done. Take a look at the article below for more information.

I have an old airport express, but the software on my computer does not accept it. I need to downgrade the software, but the older software will not install.

I have a old G4, I want to give to my son. It does not have a wireless card and because his room is on the second floor it is impossible to connect with a wire.
I wish to add an airport express to my airport extreme network and connect the computer and the airport express together with a cable. Is this possible?

I do have a network with a airport extreme and want to add the old airport express to it. I want to do this with airport software, however the software tells me the airport express is to old and i need to reinstall older software 5.6 to be precise. However installing fails, so I thought i just remove the airport software, but osx does not allow me to do that.

i managed to install the older airport utility and am trying to set up a connection with an existing network, but airport utility cannot find the airport extreme AFTER it starts up again. I then went and again restored it to its factory settings and did the whole procedure again with airport utility, but again after utility tells the airport express to restart it does not come back.

After installation the new version 2.0.1.4120 Firefox does not run any more; does not accept any key, but is waiting for a confirmation!

The older versions all worked perfectly! Only after installing the new version, program does not react!

FCS upgrade accepts upgrade key but does not accept original key?

I am trying to install FCS2 upgrade on a new MacBook Pro
I have the upgrade key as well as the original key
During the install it accepts the upgrade key and then a message appears asking for the original key
I enter the original key and get the message it is an invalid key
I have checked the original stickers the the characters of the key and they are exactly as entered

The most common issue is not entering the number exactly; e.g.; using a lowercase Lop an uppercase i for a number 1 or using a number 0 for for an uppercase letter O (or vice versa).
Also note that serial numbers from academic or not-for-resale versions are NOT eligible for upgrading. The older serial number must be from a legitimate retail version.
If you have a retail serial number and you're absolutely sure that you've entered it correctly, find your proof-of-purchase for the older version and contact Apple for a replacement serial number: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1861

Have used Superduper app. to back up and checked back-up occasionally to see if all files present and appeared OK.
I had previously started machine using original CD #1 to try and replace Eudora which was acting up. Did not knowingly touch Safari.
Running iMAC System 10.4.11
How can I successfully download from the Maxtor back-up?

I checked the content of my other back-up and found the bookmark Bookmarks.plist in the library under Safari
Dumped the existing copy in the computer and drag-dropped the back up. All bookmarks restored.
Solved the Stickies problem by using Spotlight to find file "stickiesdatabase" and did a drag- drop to replace file. All data restored.
Re Ical data loss. Used Spotlight to find iCal document in Library - Preferences where I found com.apple.iCal.plist in folder.
Got ready to make change but did not immediately remove file. When I returned to Preferences folder to grab above document,
the readable descriptors had been changed to code consisting of some upper case letters and/or single symbols!
So now I cannot tell which is the symbol iCal.plist

The GB size of the download file is the compressed size (like .zip or .dmg). When the file is installed/uncompressed it can be 2-3 times larger.
How much space is used by your Other? You may be able to reduce.

You will need to call Apple as it is no longer listed in the app store. After paying for it, they will send you a redemption code via email you can use to download it.

when starting up after a erase/reinstall of Mac OS X 10.6 it will not accept any of my passwords/names, I had just entered my info and clicked on "continue", the cube began to turn and froze, a translucent screen came over the whole window and request that I restart the computer, after doing so, I got the start up sound and a message saying that OS X was starting up and then the sign in window, but when I entered my info it kept shaking/rejecting it, only thing I can think is that could I have possibly entered my password wrong twice, don't know, I'm still scratching my head.

Do it again, I'm afraid. Be sure you set up the initial admin account with a proper password you can remember - all lowercase letters and numbers. No special characters or spaces except for the "_" underline character.
Clean Install of Snow Leopard
Be sure to make a backup first because the following procedure will erase
the drive and everything on it.
     1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
         with your computer. Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
         After the chime press and hold down the "C" key. Release the key when you see
         a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
     2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
         button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
         After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
         size.) Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window. Set the number of
         partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, click on Options button
         and select GUID, click on OK, then set the format type to MacOS Extended
         (Journaled, if supported), then click on the Apply button.
     3. When the formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed
         with the OS X installation and follow the directions included with the installer.
     4. When the installation has completed your computer will Restart into the Setup
         Assistant. Be sure you configure your initial admin account with the exact same
         username and password that you used on your old drive. After you finish Setup
         Assistant will complete the installation after which you will be running a fresh
         install of OS X. You can now begin the update process by opening Software
         Update and installing all recommended updates to bring your installation current.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

Have you checked whether you have folder for PSE Organizer? It is normally at this location in Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1:
<C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 12 Organizer>
If the folder is there then try double-clicking on the file called: PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe
If the folder isn't there at all then you need to re-install the package again using your original disks or from download from Adobe website. <Download Photoshop Elements products | 13, 12, 11, 10>

if i have to read any comment by matt n again i will throw up...in my mouth. i have gone all over google trying to figure out what the f ff did to me without my permission, i have updates turned off so there should be no prompting to restart, there should be a polite offer not a forced update. i am angry and so are a ton of people.
