Clean UnInstall??? OS X

I seldom use dreamweaver of Flash but today I had to clean up
one of my Flash files and change a path name in dreamweaver. And I
ran into a problem. When I launch the an Application it justs stops
and it says Application not responding.
I started by deleting all Trial software for Dreamweaver and
all associted applications that came with the install. I deleted
all files in the library that was associated wtih macromedia. I
then proceeded by re-installing Studio MX 2004 for the Mac OS
10.4.9.
I double checked to insure that I had no remaining files from
the finder. I then proceeded with the install. The installer just
went ahead and installed Dreamweaver, Flash, FreeHand and
Fireworks. but never asked for the serial number. It just went
straight to the install.
I even tried as a new user and created a new directory for
the install.
/user/dreamweaver/Applications/
And proceeded with the install. And still when I launch any
of my applications it just freezes Application not responding.
What gives?? How can I do a fresh install of my MX 2004
please.
Sincrely,
robert

I am not sure if I am following you. Perhaps that you get a
better information from customer service representative at Adobe. I
am sorry I can't be much of further help, because I personally
don't work or use with 30-day tryout apps and don't know what to
expect of these try-out apps you mentioned on your machine.
You also want to try and check with techdoc or
self-explanatory help on how to uninstall these referenced apps on
your Mac.
Hope that helps. BTW, Robert, the real-live Adobe customer
service representative's hours are based on Pacific Standard Time,
just so you know. If you look at on top of your browser, look for
"Contact" link. Once you go into that contact link, then it gives
you options on how to get a hold of customer service rep and other
possiblities to address your issue.
Cheers, Brian

  • How can I do a clean uninstall of packages built from source?

I want to remove older versions of Ruby (but not the one packaged with Snow Leopard) from my development machine. I have a couple versions that were built from source that are unused now. How can I do a clean uninstall of those types of packages? I don't think there is any "make" command that will uninstall, so other than just deleting the folders that I think contains the older versions, I'm not sure how else to do it. Any ideas?

mickey13, if its Makefile doesn’t have a target for uninstalling, then the next best thing would be to run *make -n install 2>&1 > /tmp/install* to get a list of what it does at installation time, and then edit the /tmp/install file to remove the files that it copied over on installation (or to undo the edits that it made to previously existing files).

  • Bonjour help + clean uninstall and re-install of iTunes, Quicktime, and related components

    I am using Win7 x64.
To make a long story short, I unistalled Bonjour.  When the next update for iTunes came out (Ver. 10.4.1), I was unable to update due to the error message: "Service Bonjour (Bonjour Services) failed to start.  Please verify you have sufficient administrative permission and try again" or something along those lines.  After trying several things to no avail, I finally did a clean uninstall of iTunes, Quicktime, and all related components as per http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923.  When I then tried to reinstall iTunes and Quicktime, I got the same error message.  I know people have had problems with Bonjour before, but I couldn't find any info on why I am getting this after a clean uninstall or what to do about it, so any ideas would be very much appreciated.
    Thank you.

  • Clean uninstall of Premiere pro cc to reinstall

I had my power supply die and ever since my machine has been having issues between Plural eyes 3 and PPCC. I need to do a clean uninstall of PPCC. I did the regular  "start/ programs/ uninstall PPCC/ and it worked. I reinstalled from the cloud and when I went to open the project again I get an error that Warp stabilizer is missing. I open Video FX to see what there is and it shows 2 warp stabilizers as choices. I had to go into all the files that used it and remove the old one and use the other one to get it to work.Strange. So I thought maybe there was a better way to uninstall here.
    Thank you.

  • How do you do a complete and clean uninstall of iCloud from a PC

I have been unable to update my iCloud for Windows sonce the latest update appeared a couple of weeks ago. Whenever I try to update the setup programme will crash with the following error message: Problem with Windows installer package. Program run as part of the setup did not finish. I am running Windows 8.1 on my PC and have had no other problems with setup packages.
After various attempts to update the programme, I decided to uninstall iCloud from my computer and do a fresh install. Although the iCloud programme appeared to be uninstalled, the iCloud sign in dialogue kept coming up on my screen. I then signed out from this window, restarted my computer and tried again, but still got the same sign in screen. I then decided to uninstall iTunes and do a complete reinstall of all my Apple software on my PC. This got rid of the iCloud sign in and I then re-installed iTunes. ITunes works fine but I still cannot load iCloud without getting the error message cited above. This is a big problem as I can't synch my Office 2013 Outlook with my iPhone/iPad.
So, does anyone know how I can do a complete uninstall of iTunes/iCloud from my PC? Please send the necessary REG changes that I need to do to wipe all traces of the Apple software and do a fresh install. Thank you

    etc, etc.Hi Turingtest2,
Thanks for your help and advice. I went through the steps that you recommended (twice) and I'm afraid  that I got myself into deeper trouble.
First, although I was able to reinstall iTunes and iCloud, when I tried to synch my calendars I keep running accros the unexpected error messages
Your setup couldn't be started because of an unexpected error.

I then tried to do a selective calendar synch and discovered that my local (Outlook profile) calendar has been completely wiped out! Luckily, my iCloud calendar is still patent so I haven't lost anything, but this turn of events is very annoying!
It appears that I can't do a clean uninstall using the steps that you directed me to. I think I need to wipe all traces of iTunes and iCloud from my registry, so if you know how to do it, I would appreciate a list of instructions?
    Thanks again for your help.

  • How do i clean uninstall Photoshop Elements with all cache

    Hi,
I've got a strange problem. I was using PSE10 on Windows 7 and when i did a batch in PSE10 to automatically organise multiple files from PSD-files with a white background to PNG-files with a transparante background, the PNG's always came back with a white background. This seemed to be a bug in PSE10 ((http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1087433)).
I uninstalled PSE10 and installed PSE12 which i thought would resolve the problem. It didn't. It kept outputting my PSD-files to PNG's with white backgrounds.
I tried the same thing with Photoshop on my home Windows and there it worked fine, also with PSE12 on another Windows-machine. So i'm guessing this ought to be caused by some caching on my Windows-laptop.
My question is, how can i make sure when i uninstall PSE12 i also clean every possible caching so i'm absolutely sure i start over with a clean version of PSE12. I'm using Windows7.
    Thx

  • How do I fully and cleanly uninstall unwanted apps?

Have recently swapped from a Windows machine to a brand new and customised iMac. I've therefore had to accept that the OS is Mavericks and that pre-loaded on the machine are iPhoto and the iWork suite. I now wish to remove, if permitted, the following of these from the machine:
    iPhoto
    Keynote
    Numbers
    Games
How can I do this fully and cleanly? I gather that you can do a 'shake' test for an app you want to delete from the machine and, if it's permitted to remove the app, you then drag its icon on to the Trash. But as I understand it this doesn't necessarily remove other extraneous files associated with the app. So, how do I discover what those are, where they're located, and what exactly to do with them?
Incidentally, of the iWork suite I've decided to keep Pages.
I'm a little concerned that perhaps uninstalling these apps might remove some files that are shared with other apps on the machine, including functions built into the operating system. Will that conceivably happen? Is iPhoto, for example, required to display images in Apple Mail, and is it also required for me to be able to import RAW and other images from a camera using direct drag 'n drop (into a folder of my own choosing)? And what about Preview? Will that get removed along with iPhoto?
I only do serious work on my computer, and I want to keep this machine's contents lean and clean.

    Barney and Tony,
Not sure if this reply will appear in the correct sequence in the discussion thread but I've had a look at those folders and files you mentioned, Barney. There was nothing in most of them. Library/Extensions exists as System/Library on my setup but I saw nothing in it pertaining to any of the three apps concerned.
In <System>/Applications/Numbers/Contents I found such cryptic folders as:
    _Code Signature
    _MAS Receipt
    info.plist
    MAC OS
    Pkg info
    etc
but, again, looking in these folders yielded nothing that appeared remotely associated with any of the three apps. In searches like this you can get right down to the very coding level if you wish, it seems. However, unless you're familiar with the coding you've no idea as to what these functions are, or how they interact with other apps and processes. And I'm certainly not.
One thing I did come across, however, happened when I was looking at one of the more hidden-away user functions of the Apple Mail client and I noticed that apps such as iPhoto and PhotoBooth are involved in importing images into the client. That being so, it might be better for me not to remove iPhoto, since I use and rely on Apple Mail quite a lot.
All in all, it's difficult for me to make an informed judgement on this. Possibly, Apple's now organised the uninstall of certain apps in a much fuller and cleaner way than before and so perhaps all I'd need to do, in reality, is to perform the 'wiggle' uninstall. But I just don't know. And there's always the danger that removing what are now some quite embedded apps could cause some other related app or utility to not function properly from hereon. So, in the end, I might have to just concede that I'm stuck with these apps.
Possibly, the only way of ridding my machine of them is for me to perform at a later date a major cleanup, completely wiping the HD, and reinstalling Mavericks from scratch.
If only Apple had never installed those apps in the first place! Why on earth did they have to be compulsory?! So much for Apple and their products being user-friendly! I'm disappointed in Apple over this.

Found the solution on YouTube as follows: open "Finder", pull down "Go" menu while holding down "Option" key. This will reveal hidden "Library" file. Open "Library" file and delete hidden files "Firefox" and "Mozilla" that were left behind when Firefox was uninstalled. End of problem!

  • Firefox v36 - Profile corrupt after clean uninstall / install

    Hi All,
Please could I have some help with my Firefox.
I have been using Firefox for years and have not had an issue with my profile before.
When my machine (windows server 2012) goes to standby and I reconnect, the tabs crash out.
I can close the Firefox window but the firefox.exe still remains running and I get an access denied message when trying to close it.
I then need to restart the machine in order to get the process to close.
When I uninstall the application, I also deleted the Mozilla folders in AppData as well as ran CCleaner to clear out the registry.
It then reinstalls fine for a day or two before the issue starts again.
Is there any info on why this could be happening?

    ''guigs2 [[#answer-705862|said]]''
    <blockquote>
You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.
If this is not the case, please consider changing the way Firefox connect to the internet: [[Advanced panel - Accessibility, browsing, network, updates, and other advanced settings in Firefox]]
The default setting is "Use system proxy settings" and you also could try "No proxy."
    </blockquote>
Thank you for the suggestions but none seem to help.
Firefox just crashes out all the time now, I open the browser, close the browser and then that's it, I cannot open another window as the task is already running.
Something is corrupt even after I clear all data and registry files.
Will need to use IE/Chrome until I can get a solution

  • Trial version, is a clean uninstall possible?

I tried the trial version (Japanese) of Acrobat 8. After I finished the trial period and uninstalled it, it left a lot of stuff behind.
Now I have problems printing from Reader (v.7, English, with Japanese fonts also installed). Random characters are missing, and the missing ones are different each time.
Also, Reader will no longer open up in the browser (IE6.1) when I click on a pdf file on the internet.
These things worked before. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Reader, but things do not get better. I can only assume that, among the junk left behind by the trial version, that there is something that is now interfering with the operation of Reader.
Is there a way to get rid of all the junk that the dirty uninstall of the trial version left behind?
    Thanks

Hi. I looked at that, but it is only for XP and Vista. I'm still on W2k, so I couldn't use that. (Acrobat seems to be the only program from Adobe now which will run on W2k).
I did find some info in the knowledgebase about uninstalling Acrobat Standard and Reader by hand. I've done what I could, although I haven't gotten around to re-installing Reader yet.
However, before I uninstalled Reader 7, I have checked printing on this and another computer, using various files. I can say this:
    - no problem with the printer
    - no problem printing with other applications on this computer
    - no problem printing old PDF files made by other people (manuals and such) on this computer with Reader 7 (the version I just uninstalled).
    - no problem printing PDF files which I made on this computer using either the trial version of Acrobat 8, or PDFCreator, on the other computer, using the same version of Reader 7
    - the only problem is printing those PDF files made on this computer, using either the trial version of Acrobat 8 or PDFCreator, on this computer.
Conclusion: It has to have something to do with the junk that was left behind. Something on this computer is messing up the printing from Reader, but only for PDF files made on this computer.
Whether I can solve this by uninstalling manually, I don't know yet.
I don't know what to think of this, except that I am not at all impressed.

  • Are there no utilities for clean uninstall?

As a systems administrator for a medium sized company I have come across a nearly deal breaking problem. While on every other front I am able to use automative processes for rolling out software and software upgrades. It is becoming apparent that Oracle is not willing to play fair with this practice. With better than 700 workstations to upgrade from 8.1.5.5 to 9i I am faced with the impossible task of visiting EVERY workstation. I do use novell zenworks 4 to distribute my apps. If anyone has an msi that will edit the registry delete the files and do the reboot neccessary prior to upgrade I would glady accept it. Just about every other software package I deal with has a friendly (and complete) uninstall feature. Hey oracle guys...sometimes all we want to do is upgrade! You should help us do that.

I have seen that this case is tried installing the Oracle Client in a central server and to share all the tools of it for everybody.

  • How to clean uninstall SQL Server 2014?

    Hi,
I had SQL Server 2014 Management Studio installed, and I decided to try to install CU5 to get some more of the Azure functionality back in SSMS. Unfortunately it didn't work, so I decided to uninstall SQL 2014 MS. After doing so, I realized that the CU5
update was still 'installed' in add/remove programs, and I could no longer uninstall it. I've tried reinstalling SQL Server 2014 MS, but it won't allow me to apply the CU5 update anymore. Is there any way I can either apply the CU5 update, or just nuke everything
and try to restart from scratch without reinstalling Windows? Also I have VS2013/VS2015 installed if that makes a difference (I'd really rather not have to reinstall those). Thanks!
