Clean up of work flow logs entries (WFMC) from tables CMFP and CMFK

Hi,
I am cleaning up the tables CMFP and CMFK for work flow logs entries with app id WFMC. I used the cleanup programs RSCLNAFP, RSCLCMFP but the entries are still seen on the tables. Can anyone please advice ?

To avoid unnecessary growth of tables CMFP and CMFK, you can prevent the creation of processing logs by following these steps:
1. Call up transaction NACE (Conditions for Output Control).
2. Choose the desired applications and then Output Types.
3. Double click on the output type to go to the detail view where you can make the necessary settings. To make the settings you must enter the change mode.
4. Set the indicator do not write processing log and save your settings.
This setting is only applicable to the individual application and output type. If it is set, processing logs will be collected in the main memory, but they will not be written to the database. Other output types are not affected by this setting. You have to repeat the aforementioned steps for each output type individually. It is not possible to switch off the processing log for all output types at the same time. For more information on the setting do not write processing log see the corresponding documentation.

Go to the Transaction SWI1,
Enter the workitem no and press F8.
Select the required entry and Press Shift+F8 (Log Button)
to view the workflow log.

Work flow mails not processing from SAP Outbox to Approvers

Hello,
We are working on the implementation of Work flow for Purchase orders.
Work flow customization is completed and even work flow is triggering when ever I create Purchase Order.
Even Agent assignment also completed for work flow tasks via T code PTFC_CHG.
Problem here is Work flow mails are not processing out of SAP Outbox to approvers even also after executing the program RSWUWFML2.
If I check in SOST,I will not see any of the entries related to work flow mails.
For eg:If I creates a Purchase order it will trigger Release Strategy and I can see the message to Approvers,like "Please Approver PO..."
Only above I can see in my SAP Outbox.
So how can I Process these messages to approvers SAP Inbox.
Any Pre Setting I have to do?

I may be wrong, but on reading ur thread, I feel u r mis interpreting SAP Outbox with Outlook.
Is it so, because u have mentioned about RSWUWFML2 and SOST, which comes into picture only if u r using an external mail like Outlook.
If its Outlook, then there is no doubt that ur work item would get deleted from SAP Inbox and would be present only in Outlook.
If its SAP Outbox, then u r not supposed to get ur work item in ur Outbox unless it is processed or executed thru ur SAP Inbox.

Parked Invoices Work Flow Logging Mechanism

Dear ALL,
From functional end how can we apply a release strategy on Invoice parking? Is there any separate logging mechanism of the release?
We have developed standard work flow for logistic invoice verifications and as well for direct invoice parking. The user requires the each document park status report. Is there any way we can check the status of document in report form.

If invoice x parked by user A then it will go to his inbox of User A. when user A accept and approve from inbox it will automatically goes to User B. User B will open his inbox to check his wrkflow items, after checking and approving park doc x it will further goes to user C. Now status will be that invoice is at user C inbox after further verification user C will post the invoice.
The above example is for work flow understanding. now is there any way that system will tell us where the invoice is parked at what user level etc.

I generated a list of users work flow in web dynpro abap now i wanted to display log as it appears in standard report using method cl_swf_rdg_dispatcher=>execute_dialog_request but when i run it it give me below mention error

No. There is no container for displaying SAPGUI inside of Web Dynpro. The closest you could get to this would be the SAPGUI for HTML running inside an iFrame, but that is completely different than what you are talking about (and also not recommended). Dynpro/SAPGUI output is a very different technology thatn Web Dynpro and the two can't be mixed directly. You need to find a way to extract the data you need without any calls to visualize it.

Problem with the XI-Audit log entries in the table "XI_AF_MSG_AUDIT"

I have an async-szenarios for PO:
We send Idoc's from SAP ERP to a WebService via SOAP. And we take Ack's. We use Integrationsprocess with deadline block to catche the errors after the retrying (three times) and to send they via e-mail.
Our problem is, the number of the audit logs in the table "XI_AF_MSG_AUDIT":
In the RTW only we see one audit log (with three retries) in an error case. But in the table XI_AF_MSG_AUDIT there are about 76 entries for the same audit log in the error case and about 20 entries in the case of the succuessfull processing.
This number of the entries in the table causes problem with the size of the redo log file and delete job of cours the large size of the table and therefore problem on the data base. The table can not be controlled. The delete job can not run and cancels every time due this redo log problems
What can cause that?
How can it be prevented, that so much entries are not be made in the table "XI_AF_MSG_AUDIT".

I am only aware of the general property auditLogEnabled of J2EE Engine Service SAP XI AF Core, which controls in general (default = true) that entries in the AF Message Audit log are written at all.

I assume that your scenarios in the error case is sending up to three messages and for each message the number of audit log infos are created. You might want to check the detailed entries in the log and see from where they are comming, you might use customer modules etc. as well.

Work flow to be triggered from portal but not from PA30 Transaction

Hi,
We have copied a standard workflow to enhance it and attached standart event to that workflow in SWETYPV t-code.
Now the work flow is triggered from both PA30 and portal whenever changes are made.But we want it to be triggered from portal alone.
Can anyone suggest how can i restrict work flow start event to be triggered from portal alone.

My suggestion is instead of starting the workflow by using EVENT it is better to start by using SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW
As you are saying that you need to trigger the workflow only from the protal. Now in the portal you might be using a WebdDynpro Application or a BSP application, so in that application after filling all the details you might be having a button like Save or Submit or Create so under this final button you call the FM SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW in the action handler.
And more over even by using this FM you can even pass the values from WD Application to workflow by using the tables Parameter Simple_container.
And one more thing is if you start a workflow by using a event then when ever the event is occured then the workflow gets triggered.
or make use of Start Condition in the basic data of the workflow.

TOBJ entries missing from upgrade dev and test systems

We are in the process of ECC Upgrade from 4.7 to ECC 6.0 and upgraded our dev and test systems. We missing some SAP defined object entries in TOBJ table from dev and test. Because of this some of the roles getting transport errors if the roles contain those missing objects. We tried to transport the missing entries but we don't see any provision for that. Does any one through an idea to move those missing entries from dev to test. Not sure we will get same error in production. This table updates during upgrade and may be we missed some thing in test as though we followed the same upgrade process for both systems.

Possibly you are no longer licensed for components which these objects are called from in their concepts.
In that case the ability to start the component objects should be removed as well.
Of course if some Z-programs checked these objects or SAP's own "package concept" extended syntax checks did not respect them then you might have problems.
This should normally only apply to manual authorization instances, as if you had upgraded the roles and regenerated them, then you would not have this problem (in the roles).
It tells us something about how you or someone else without any training have built these roles (or subsequently mucked them up...)...
When reading stuff like this, I am always of two minds...
1) SAP should make the concepts simpler and more intuitive to use without "cowboy" activities allowed by users with SAP_ALL etc.
2) Customers should bleed for their own sins for not training people appropriatly (here, faking CV's is also ma major pest!).
It is always a bit of a cat & mouse game and ends up in forums such as SDN in the long run.
Some of it might also have become "available" to be used by SAP (I believe it was the 6.20 upgrade which installed everything...).
Real bugger. I would accept it and test as best you can. You can also compare "where.used-lists" and "code scans" before and after the upgrade to see whether it is used by foreign repository objects.
The scan is more reliable here, as sometimes the object name itself is a variable from a data declaration or condition which you cannot see in the "procedural" code.

Transport table entries directly from table with field added from append S

Guys, I have changes one standard table , I mean I use append structure and add a new field in to that . As this is T* ( text table ) , it also V ( view ) but as I change the field in T* table . I went in to table and maintain entries directly into table . After that I go to menu and select all the entries and as I want to push it to my test client . I create the entries and then I transport it to test . When I saw the table that entries were missing. Then I saw my existing transport in SE10 & SE09 and I notice it just transport the Keys fields content and its not transporting the new field content which I add as append structure .
Do you guys have any idea .how to transport those entries?

Itll behave in the same way , even you give "*" in your transport . Do one thing go to table, double click on your structure and once youre in structure <b>Go to->Extras->Enhancement category
And select radio button 1 or 2 and try again </b>

SMTP Auth (Works but log entry worries me)

So I'm seeing the following entries in the smtp / mail access log. All users can login fine and send / receive mail. I have ssl for imap required and smtp set to use (and not require). Clients are all 10.5.2 using apple mail and are configured to use ssl on port 993 with md-5 challenge response.

Every user displays this activity, I'm worried about the "no authentication" line...
I read this as CRAM-MD5 and SSL working just fine but what's with the no authentication? Am i worrying over nothing?
Also, where could I find similar login reports for smtp? I can view smtp logs of course and I do but that isn't where the login attempts are so I'd like to see if I am receiving similar errors for smtp.
If i'm worrying over nothing and just reading this wrong then by all means let me know

Firewall log entries originating from Xserve

Our 3com ADSL NAT router/firewall log shows repeated entries relating to our Xserve (10.4.2 / AFP, DHCP, DNS, NetBoot, Open Directory Master, VPN) inside the firewall. Access attempt typically is repeated every 2 seconds on port 49152. The intended target is a string of different external IP addresses on port 53 and so would appear to be DNS queries – one at least appeared to be a name server. However, the firewall registers them as UDP Flood to Host.
I'm not aware of any issues arising from this, but having had problems from PC viruses on our LAN I'm a bit nervous about odd firewall entries. Can anyone illuminate or reassure me?

Reading the data from table control and write log.

   In va01 trasaction i have table control 'All item'.
   I want to write value of some columns,( Article no, Order, plant ) so on into ecatt Log file after saving the trasction, for all rows which is having article no.
   Is there any possibility in eCATT with going to GETGUI function which is static to spacefic field.

There are two types of variable values you find in transactions, one system generated(generally the unique values) and then the static field values..
When you want to go for the static field values you can use GETGUI. You can use the same GETGUI n number of times according to the situation(like in loops etc) and for the system generated messages we can handle them from the message blocks.
MESSAGE.
ENDMESSAGE.
In the message block make a rule for the message that you are expecting like
'E' MSGNR(the message number) and give a variable in the fields MSGV1/MSGV2 where ever you are getting the unique generated value(according to the log) and you can use that variable for LOG purpose..
