Clean up unnecessary space

Hi,
My wIN 2008 SERVER is nearly out of space, as it has only 2.5 Gb left. It has Sql server 2012, Exchange 2010, inside. Is there any procedure to clean up any unnecessary space among that?
Many Thanks & Best Regards, Hua Min

  • Unnecessary space around table in an iview

    Dear all,
    Ive a simple model with only one table.
    After I compile the model and It is shown in a iView, the table is not centered inside the iView, instead, an unnecessary space is around the table (Right side and bottom), I mean, between the table and the limit of the iView there is a blank space which constrain the table to be at the center of the iView.
    Any help would be ok!
    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers,
    Andres.

    wa,
    The gaps around the sides are margins. The sizes of the margins are set in the Sheet Inspector. There are minimum margins, based upon what your printer driver has communicated to Numbers, where your printer is unable to print.
    Your table will split and flow onto multiple pages whenever it encroaches upon the margins. You can prevent this by not making the rows and columns quite so large, and by eliminating any unneeded ones.

  • Hindi font showing unnecessary spaces

    Hello! I am new here. I have hindi open type font. I can type in microsoft word 2007 without any problem with that font. But when I type in pagemaker 7.0, it inserts unnecessary spaces for zero width character such as " aa ki matra, ae ki matra, etc.". I think this is the problem with pagemaker not with with the font as I am able to type in microsoft word without problem. I have tried many possible settings such as hyphenation on/off, manual only, paragraph setting, character spaces with no success. I would be really very thankful for the help that I may get from the experts in this forum. Thanks

    Pagemaker is ancient and will only recognise the first 256 characters of a font.  It does not recognise all the characters of Opentype fonts.
    There are complex workarounds, but the long term and best solution, as indicated by others, is to move on to Indesign which has none of these problems.

  • LV Operator Interface: Cleaning Data Report Space

    Hi, I'm using Test Stand 3.1 and LabView 7.1, I have a LV Operator Interface and I'd like to reset (clean)  Data Report space between Sequences execution. I have tryed everything with no success.
    Thank you,
    Massimo Ponte

    Hi,
    When you say "on the next execution", do you mean your test is being run with Test UUTs and after each UUT that is tested you want the report to be blank? Or are you referring to each time you run it with single pass, you would like the report window to be cleaned?  Also are you using the full featured operator interface or the simple one?  If you give us a little more detailed explanation of what you are looking for, we can try and help.

  • These App's that clean up dish space, are they any good?

    I've been looking through the App Store and found lots of different Apps' that say they can clean up old files and other items off a Mac to help free up space.  One of them is called AVG Cleaner which is free in the App Store.  Are these App's and good and can they help free up space or could they cause problems for the working of the Mac?

    Pretty much stay away from them. They really aren't usually necessary:
    Freeing Up Space on The Hard Drive
      1. See Lion/Mountain Lion's Storage Display.
      2. You can remove data from your Home folder except for the /Home/Library/ folder.
      3. Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on freeing up space on your hard drive.
      4. Also see Freeing space on your Mac OS X startup disk.
      5. See Where did my Disk Space go?.
      6. See The Storage Display.
    You must Empty the Trash in order to recover the space they occupied on the hard drive.
    You should consider replacing the drive with a larger one. Check out OWC for drives, tutorials, and toolkits.
    Try using OmniDiskSweeper 1.8 or GrandPerspective to search your drive for large files and where they are located.

  • Reset, empty, clean java heap space

    Hello!
    I am actually not a Java user but an R (statistical programming language) user. I use an R package which writes output
    to Excel sheets. The package uses Java to link between R and Excel. When we used the package to write our data to Excel
    R recently started to throw errors which after doing several tests we traced back to the java heap space.
    Our question is now whether it is possible to clear/empty/reset the java heap space using java on the command line or by
    starting an external programme? It is possible to start external programmes within R. So in case it would be possible to
    clean up the java heap space we basically could write a little script which we could start from R to fix our problem.
    Any help is very much appreciated.
    Best,
    Jo

    Hi,
    the problem is a bit tricky to describe. R provides packages u can use but you do not see the underlying code.
    In the manual of the package it says it's using java to write the data from R to excel spreadsheet. We currently
    writing objects which 20000 rows and 6-10 columns. It works fine for the first 2 or 3 files and then R
    throws an error. To figure out where the error comes from I created a dummy data set with 3000 rows and 6 columns
    and used the package to write the output to the excel sheet again and again in differently named tabs.
    As more output you write to the excel sheet as slower it gets and then at some point R throws an error.
    I tried different data set sizes and deleted excel sheets, created new ones to test different cases but the outcome
    was always the same... R does not directly say something like: java out of heap space but to us it is pretty clear
    when the heap space is reaching its limit something gets screwed up. If you write to the same excel sheet again and again
    but with breaks in between so the heap space has some time to empty itself it works fine. If you restart R and write to the same file
    it works.

  • Unnecessary space within the content after publish

    So im redesigning our ministry's website using muse because I just absolutely love the platform, and also because I am not much of a coding expert. But anyways I am having a problem when I preview or publish my site.
    Here is a temporary business catalyst link so that you can see it for yourself: http://provision7.businesscatalyst.com/about-us.html
    If you scroll to the bottom of the page (it is a long page) you will see that muse has extended the transparent shape behind the text field for no reason that I can figure out... I am stumped. I have looked up many threads and answers and still cannot figure out what is causing this. It does not show up in my design view, only in preview or publish.
    The wierd thing about all of this is that when I delete the transparent shape completely and then preview it, the extra space is gone. So I am guessing there might be a bug in the shape tool or something, but I hope that doesn't mean I have to start all over in a new project.
    Let me know if you can help! Thanks!
    - Oh and I just figured out that it shows up normal on Firefox, so to see the issue be sure to use Safari or Google Chrome.

    This page has a long text flow that uses the "Web Safe" font Georgia. Web Safe fonts are live text in the browser and every browser has it's own line layout engine that will result in slight difference in line breaks, and thus the total height of a text flow. Also "Web Safe" fonts are really a stack of fonts similar for the browser to try. In this case the browser will use Georgia is the site visitor has it installed. If it doesn't find Georgia, it will fall back to Palatino, Palatino Linotype, Times, Times New Roman, and finally any serif font.
    I expect what's happening is you've drawn a rectangle behind the text that has a very specific height which nicely fits how the text lays out in Muse Design view using Georgia (or whichever the first font in the stack is on your machine). When you subsequently export/publish the site and view it in a browser, the line breaks will be slightly different just due to subtle differences between browsers (so a long text flow will commonly be a few lines longer or shorter). If on top of that the machine being used to view the page doesn't have the same font you have, the line breaks will likely be significantly different and the text frame height may be significantly different.
    For your particular design, the easiest approach would be to delete the rectangle that's behind the text frame and instead use the text frame itself to both draw the box and the text. Set the fill of the text frame, round the corners of the text frame and in the Spacing panel set the Padding values in order to indent the text from the edges of the text frame. Now when the text frame grows are shrinks due to changes in the line breaks on of the text, the background box (which is just the text frame) will just follow along.

  • JScrollPane scrollbar eats unnecessary space

    Hi all,
    i have a problem with the horizontal scrollbar of a JScrollPane.
    My code is like this:
    JPanel toolbarsPanel = new JPanel();
    toolbarsPanel.setLayout(new BoxLayout(toolbarsPanel,BoxLayout.Y_AXIS));
    JPanel northToolbarPanel = new JPanel();

    ORIZONTAL_SCROLLBAR_AS_NEEDED);
    northToolbarPanel.add(mainCommandsScrollPane,BorderLayout.WEST);
    toolbarsPanel.add(northToolbarPanel);
    (the rest of the code includes 3 more toolbars; in total there are 2 toolbars in the upper side and 2 toolbars in the botom side of the toolbarsPanel)
    The problem is that the size of the toolbar (or the scrollpane that contains it) includes the size occupied by the horizontal scrollbar in spite of the horizontal scrollbar not appering. And there is more, when the horizontal scrollbar appears the previous size get smaller and don't include space required for the scrollbar, overlapping the scrollbar upon the toolbar.
    How can i compact my toolbar when the horizontal scrollbar is not needed and how can i show the scrollbar underneath the toolbar without overlapping with it.

  • How do I remove unnecessary rim/space around VC flex app in iview?

    I have created small VC apps to be placed on our intranet; one for showing a small revenue chart, and one for a HR people search form. I need these to take up as little space as possible since they are to be placed in a thin page column (thin-wide-thin page layout).
    Alas the apps are displayed with a 25 to 30 pixels wide rim below and to the right of the chart/form content. Together with the standard portal iview paddings this makes for far too much unnecessary space being used.
    How do I get rid of this (if possible)?

    hi,
    have you tried removing the frame from the model components like the chart/form. Thast should save some space for you.

  • INOUT parameter from CallableStatement has unnecessary padded spaces

    Hi all,
    I'm using JDBC Oracle thin driver to connect to Oracle 8i. I'm calling a stored procedure for which I use a CallableStatement. I have an INOUT parameter of datatype CHAR(1) in the procedure, which I set using the setString() and do the registerOutParameter(3, Types.CHAR).
    When I excute the CallableStatement(), the INOUT parameter is appended with unnecessary spaces by the JDBC driver. In the procedure when I print the length of the parameter received, it shows 32512. This causes the procedure to throw a SQLException. How can we avoid these blank spaces? You might suggest that I put RTRIM() in the procedure as a simple solution, but that is not possible.
    I have observed the same thing in the OUT parameter. When the procedure returns a 1 char value, Java shows a 32512 length value (padded with unnecessary spaces). How can we tell the driver not to do such mischief.
    Please help.
    Thanks

    I don't see anything obviously wrong with the code. That you are always getting 1 out, suggests the possibility that the input value isn't going in, is defaulting to 0 and 0+ 1 is being returned...
    As a guess, try doing:
    cStmt.setInt(2, 4);instead of:
    cStmt.setInt("inOutParam", 4);It could be that MySQL has some problems with "by name" parameters...
    Alternately, modify the stored procedure to put inOutParam into a table and see what value is being recieved...
