Cleaning Invisi Shield

How are people cleaning thier Invisible Shields? Mine needs to be cleaned and I'm not sure what to clean it with. Great product, once you figure out the best way to get it on.

I generally use my shirt or a towel. But, for the tougher stuff I used a bit of 70% ethanol solution on a wipe, cleaned it right up. Note: I would be careful not to get any type of alcohol under the shield, might release the adhesive.

  • Recomend me a good case that is compatible with the invisable shield.

Hi everyone i have a 30gb ipod video. I have an invisable shield on my ipod and the last case that i had, that had a plastic protector over the click wheel and screen, ruined my shield. They got stuck together. So right now i am looking for a case that is well made and does not have anythiing over the screen and click wheel. I was looking at vaja cases (kinda pricy for some of them) but it looks like none of them come with a belt clip or a armband. I really need something that is versitle... Thanks so much in advance...

    Hi Engine,
I'm planning on getting a Video iPod soon as well as the invisible shield and was wondering if you ever found the "perfect case" to go with it. I read some of the threads and the vaja cases are beautiful but there is a note that says it shouldn't be used with protectors. And it seems like a lot of the cases will stick or ruin the invisible shield. But I'm hoping you did find the "perfect case".

  • IPod Mini Screen Protector/Invisable Shield

Hello. I have a question about two seprate products. Could someone link me to some screen protectors for the iPod Mini? Also, could someone link me to some full body clear protectors for the iPod Mini? Thank you!

    Bob,
Do a search on Google. I try not to spoon-feed answers to people, especially links that have nothing to do with iPod's functionality.

  • Any Good Ideas on the Best iPhone 4S...

I have looked at so many covers, cases for the iPhone.  Does anybody know of an excellent case that protects the iPhone 4S without blocking any of the ports or display?  I recently saw this holster that looked cool but seemd not quite what I am looking for.  I have a strong tendancy to be hard on items like the iPhone even know I try not to.  I have tried the Otterbox, which did not really protect much.  somebody had told me about one that I looked at at Best BUy, but I saw their website too and it loked pretty good but right now I forget the name.  I would like to be about to hook it up to the Mophie Juice Pack without having to take it out of the case.  any suggestions?

For the majority of the time, I go caseless. I don't like them because debris becomes trapped and requires cleaning every few days, not to mention random scratches. I would, however, invest in a screen protector. Just a basic one. Or, ZAGG Invisi-shield.
I stress this however if you follow my advice: be careful. It isn't hard.
Do you have the Mophie case already? If not, I discourage buying it. Battery life should be long enough with moderate usage. If you already do, you may want to look into a pouch for the HTC Evo, since I think it will be about that size with the case on.

  • Any Good ideas?????????

A little background. The page i am creating is to request
Vacation. I am using an update record method. origionaly all boxes
will be blank when they request leave. when they hit submit it
inputs a r into the database. We go into the database and change
the r's to a's or d's based on if it is approved. If they want to
request additional leave. they pull up the same page. I wanted it
to prevent employees from checking or unchecking a box that they
have already been approved or denied for. I am trying to keep each
employee to only one record since the insert record make duplicates
and is hard to sort through. Is there a way to hide a checkbox if
there is data already in the accsess database for that field. I am
    using .asp

  • Need help with vomit spill (yes, really!!)

Sad, but true. My son had his iBook on his bed with him when he vomitted. He said he didn't think he had gotten any inside, but it wouldn't turn on. I brought it to the Apple Store and they sent it out for repair. The tech person called me and said there was major spillage and since it involved bio-hazardous waste, they couldn't do anything with it. He said that we should buy a new machine, because, at the very least, we needed a new logic board, DC-In board,CD/DVD drive and hard drive. When we got the iBook back, I brought it home and figured I would open it up and see what I could do (I am a novice with Apple, but have worked on PCs for years.) When I pressed the power button, I was shocked (and very relieved) to see it start right up. I browsed the web, opened up some programs and everything seemed to work. But, I realized that the battery was not charging at all - it kept losing power gradually and would not charge. So I decided to open it up and clean it. I took the lower case off and there was quite a bit of residue. I cleaned the shield and removed it, and very carefully cleaned the logic baord and DC-In board with barely moist Q-tips and a soft dry brush. I thought I had done a good job. When I put it back together again, the battery successfully charged, but I have been able to start up the computer only once since then. I have since opened it 3 times to clean, even taking off the upper case once (but finding no eveidence of residue). I went back to the Apple Store and spoke to a "genius" who made a couple of suggestions, but none worked (OptionCommand+PR to reset the PRAM, and ShiftControl+OptionPower to reset something else - I forget what). Nothing worked. Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't think the logic board is fried because it did work after the spill(although I realize I could have damaged it while cleaning it). Thanks for any help.

You didn't mention whether the keyboard got the spill but I would assume so. Anyway, The keyboard would need to be dissasembled (all keys removed etc.) in order to clean it. As a test, you could disconnect the keyboard and try booting it. If it gets to the login screen, the next step would be to either clean the keyboard, replace it or at least try an external USB keyboard.

  • Yet again another invisibleSHIELD thread

alright guys i FINALLY got my invisibleSHIELD for my 30gb iPod.
i read up on the directions and put it on like snap. very easy. except the edge tabs were a little hard because the edges are rounded on the back on the iPod and the curves kinda make it difficult.
other then that im very happy. this new invisibleSHIELD with the clicker-cutout doesnt have that "orange peel" feel like the previous kind did.
didnt cover the clicker cuz i like the matte look but i did cover the center button.

I have the Best Skins Ever which is similar to the Invisable Shield and just love it. Leaving it 24 hours lets it set and cure, completely adhere to the ipod. I won't be without it on mine, You can't even tell its on there.
Here are some pics taken about 15 min or so after applying mine when I first got it and it looks perfect still today. I also have my ipod in a case too. Double protection.

The flecks you see on the back is from the papertowel and wiped off after it dried. I didn't want to chance it and messing up the skin before it dried. I used latex gloves to apply so I wouldn't get fingerprints on it.

  • Trying to Find a Safe Case

Who ever thought it would be so hard to find a safe case. What is safe?
    1. A case that protects the entire area....Belkin had the perfect acrylic case IF!!!! it did not scratch the phone as well as fall apart.
    2. A case that WILL NOT SCRATCH THE CHROME TRIM!!! a lot of cases are doing that as they collect dust under there caseing!
In searching i found SENA CASES to look like they might do the trick....i am thinking of ordering the full leather skin case....any thoughts? I have a crystal screen protector that rocks! All i want now is a rockin case!
    No invisa shield please!

The iPhone is suspiciously similar to the Motorola Q. I just bought a Motorola Q leather case from Best Buy and it fits like a glove. Classy, elegant, and protects well and its easy to get at the iPhone.

  • Touch screen isn't working

I have a 3rd generation 32 gb iPod touch. I had it plugged into my computer charging. It was about 1/2 charge when I plugged it in. I decided to listen to some music so I went to it and hit the home button. It came up with the slide to unlock on the bottom and the battery in the center like normal. I tried to slide it over, and nothing. Wouldn't move. I unplugged it and it came up to enter passcode and it wouldn't let me put in any numbers. Nothing on the "touch" part was working. I've tried to sync it but it won't let me. Says the iPod is passcode locked and won't connect. I push the home button and it only goes to the screen with the slide to unlock but won't slide. Again, the "touch" part just doesn't work. I've tried turning it off, but it won't slide over. I've tried to "clear" it by holding home and power buttons, but no help. It will reboot and the apple comes up but still no touch.
I just put on an invisa-shield about a day before this stopped working. I don't think I could have gotten it too wet with the application fluid but I'm not positive how touchy this is. (no pun intended).
    Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried doing a hard reset by holding down the power off and home button simultaneously for 10seconds and then only holding the home button for 8-10seconds till you get the APPLE logo with th USB cable connected? This would erase the contents of the pod though.

  • Webcam Randomly Turning Off During Video Calls

During a video call, my video will randomly stop.  I can start it again without problem, but would love to figure out why this is occurring, so that I can stop it from happening.  My video is showing perfectly fine in the Audio/Video settings.
The camera is showing as a FaceTime HD Camera.  I'm on Yosemite 10.10.1 with Skype version 7.0 (653).
Has anybody experienced this before and know how to fix it?

Thank you!  I'm glad I'm not alone.  I've had my pre for about 6 weeks and I love it. So... I bought an INVISI-SHIELD for over $20 at Best Buy.  Then the flickering and blank screens started a few days later. The only difference was the new protective, invisible, EXPENSIVE piece of plastic - so I trim it back to just the face (assuming it was a side sensor glitch) but it still didn't stop it.  So I peeled off the skin tonight and it seems to be fine... for the time being.
A WARNING would've been nice before I spent my money. I want to be reimbursed by Sprint! Thanks community - it was nice to get help from YOU!

  • I finally got my iPhone 4 16GB

I went to my Best Buy store #55 in N. Richland Hills, Tx after calling them asking if they have any iPhones an the lady I spoke with said they had one more so she pit it on hold for me. When I got their I was treated by a rep who was very professional and she even gave me a FREE ZAGG INVISI-SHIELD FULL BODY ($30) for my iPhone which I thought was really generous. I think I was compensated fairly for the wait and troubles I went through with BB
    Young Tune

Im so jealous. I didnt get anything. I hate that. We all went through the same crap but some people get compensation and others don't. Jacob, anything you can do about this?

  • ISkin vs ZCover.   The best skin is....

Ive now got both a iSkin Evo3 and a ZSkin for my Ipod Video. They are both the same price but the best has to be the ZSkin.
The material of the ZCover is superior, doesn't feel as cheap and the whole thing looks classier!
    So there you go!!
Im soon to try the Invisable Shield as a perminant alternative to both. Anyone any experience with th Invisable Shield?

GelaSkins, a Toronto based iPod skin company makes ultra-low profile, artist designed skins that will fit with virtually any accessory. You can protect your iPod from scratches without adding the bulk of other cases. No problem to use them with the iTrip or Dock connector, or even under a bulkier case if you are going to subject the iPod to serious abuse. Every skin comes with a great screen protector too. Crystal clear and bubble-free.
I am an employee of GelaSkins, and I am obligated to share this with you as discussed in the Appple Discussions agreement. However, by looking up GelaSkins in any search engine you will find several independent review sites that can confirm my post.

  • I installed hotspot shield on my 2009 macbook pro and all **** has broken loose on my computer in my attempts to rid my system of the app. Restoring to factory settings seems the only viable option. How do I do this?

I purchased the elite version of Hotspot Shield VPN only to found it is a wothless scam that drags down your computer. Unfortuantley its been nothing but a nightmare to get it out of my computer. Spents over a week combing through threads on what to do and amy ahve done more damage than anything else. It would appear that restoring my computer to its factory settings is the best thing in my current situation. Ive already lost all my photos and everything else of relevance, at least I hope, I have backed up in on an external disk. Could someone please guide me through this process? i just want to be done with this horribly frustrating situation. Thank you!

    Hey jollygreen666,
If you're ready to do a full restore on your computer, this is how you should go about it.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14243 - Erase and Install
    1. Power down your computer.
    2. Boot your computer holding either Command + R or Option. If you hold option you should see Macintosh HD and Recovery HD. Click on Recovery HD and press the arrow underneath to boot to recovery. If you hold Command + R you will go straight into recovery.
    3. To do a clean install, in the list of utilities, click Disk Utility. In disk Utility, you will see Macintosh HD or whatever you have named your hard drive.
    4. Click on Macintosh HD, and you'll see tabs along the top of disk utility. Press the Erase tab.
    5. For the Format box, select Mac OS X Extended (Journaled). In the name box you can leave Macintosh HD.
    6. Press Erase in the bottom right corner.
At this point you will have a blank hard drive, and you will be able to reinstall Mavericks clean without any extra data. To do so you would:
    1. Exit Disk Utility.
    2. In the menu, select Reinstall Mac OS X.
    3. Follow the prompts to reinstall OS X, and when it asks you where you want to install it, press Macintosh HD.
This will leave you with a clean install of Mavericks.
Since you don't know how deep this software has gone, I would suggest you manually migrate your data back over from your external hard drive to prevent files from the software from showing up again.
    Good luck!

  • Invisible shield left a sticky residue...how do i remove it

Hi everyone, I had a problem with my invisible shield so i called them up and they sent me a replacement. I just riped off the front of my invisible shield off of my 30gb ipod video i did it very slowly, but damm this thing was stuck down. Now it left a lot of sticky residue that i can not seem to remove. I have checked there website but found nothing regarding this. All they say is that it will remove with out leaving anything behind. Can someone give me some insight on how to remove this. I have tried spraying it with applicator solution and letting rubbing it, i have also tried rubbing it dry with my thumb in hopes to ball it up. None of this has been effective all it is doing is making it worse... please help

just did this yesterday on my ipod and mine also left a residue. I just used the applicator solution and those soft cleaning cloths that you use to clean glasses. It took a while but it eventually all came off, leaving a few new scratches. I had some old polish from an old ipod i had, and used that to mask the scratches. After I put the new sheild on, i could not see any more scratches. Just give it a little elbow greese.
