Cleaning iPhone's "crevices"

The iPhone 4 is my second iPhone. My trusty 1st gen was with me for over two years, but by the end of it's life the port at the bottom and all microphones and earpieces were full of dust and lint. I'm fearing that my new phone is already headed in this direction. In addition, the earpiece (not sure if that's what it's called; referring to the mesh piece above the display next to the front camera that I put up to my ear) received a drop of food that has hindered the loudness when I am on phone calls. Does anyone have any tips for:
- keeping the USP slot clean?
- cleaning the bottom speakers?
- cleaning the mesh piece, or "earpiece?"
Thank you!

If when you plug your iPhone in to iTunes to sync, you see the size of "Other" get much larger than 1 gigabyte, restoring the iPhone from iTunes will do cleanup.

  • How to clean iPhone 6 (gold) antenna?!

I put my iPhone in my back pocket and the blue dye from my jeans got on the white antenna of iPhone (gold). How do I get it off?

Ok I think this might be a solution. I also noticed some dark smudges on my gold iPhone 6's antennas, though I'm not sure if it was from dye from my jeans. These dark smudges wouldn't come off with other household cleaners, like rubbing alcohol. Anyway, then I used a pencil eraser and rubbed it all over these dark smudges and they rubbed off! I'm not kidding, the pencil eraser got rid of all the dye, and the antennas look clean and new again! Try it, see if it may work for you!

  • Best Way To Clean iPhone Screen?

I've had my iPhone since the day it came out and, as such, it's been jostled a fair bit.
I use the cleaning cloth that came with it but sometimes there are spots that it can't get off.
I'm afraid of using anything wet on it, even a damp cloth.
Someone recommended alcohol-based solutions but I'm not sure.
What is the absolute best way to keep this thing clean?

Yup! That's what I was gonna say was rubbing alcohol. I just dabbed a cotton bud in a little bit of peroxide and wiped the screen; everything came right off. If you're concerned about damp stuff, you can squeeze out most of the liquid from the cotton bud first before rubbing it on the screen.
To be completely honest, though, in my case I do not have to deal with cleaniness that frequently. I've had my phone in a case with a plastic cover film on the face almost since the day I got it. I don't remember why I pulled it out of it's case for a little bit there, but I do remember it got dirty and this was a great way to shine it up!

  • Cleaning iPhone 4 Bumper cases

Hi, I've had my Apple orange bumper case For just over two weeks and I've noticed the soft plastic is getting really dirty, I was wondering if anyone had any tips on cleaning them?
I've tried wipesand soapy water but it don't seem to be getting cleaner!
    Thanks for help in advance

Firstly: REMOVE BUMPER FROM IPHONE before attempting to clean!!!
A solution of warm water and dishwashing detergent should do the trick. For harder stains try Goo be Gone which is sold in hardware stores, Home depot, Lowes etc.
Dry with a microfiber towel not a paper towel as this will leave lint.

  • Need info off a wiped clean iPhone 5

I am trying to sell my mom's iPhone 5. She wiped it clean already, but I have the IMEI and the ICCID. Is there any way to determine selling info about this phone?? She can't remember the model or if it is 64 or 32gb.

I can't do that bc it has been wiped clean. It is at the set up screen.  Is the only way to get model/size to set it up again?

  • Cleaning iPhone 4 Speaker and Microphone?

I use an apple sock to protect and carry around my IP4 in. Due to the material, some fluff has gotten stuck in the mesh of the speaker and the microphone at the bottom, either side of the dock connecter. What's my best bet to clean this? Would it be to take it to Apple and get them to do it? (My phone's only a month old) or should I use something like a paintbrush and do it myself?
    Thanks,
    Anil

    Use tweezers and/or a vacuum.

  • How to clean iphone speaker (used to hear person during calls)

I believe my speaker is blocked because it fell in mud and Im not sure how to clear the speaker because it sounds very quiet even on full volume
    any help/suggestions?

Try compressed air from one of the dust buster brands, blowing sideways, not directly at the speaker. You may have to try & loosen any dried mud with a soft toothbrush first, but again, a sideways motion & be very gentle, follow that with a vacuum source to try & capture any particles.

  • I used window cleaner a few times on my iPhone what happens?

I recently got an iPhone 6 for my birthday. It got dirty a few times so I used window cleaner on the front of the iPhone because it said anti-streak and anti-fog. I thought that this would prevent it from fogging up (which it has) but recently I was reading on the net how to clean iPhone's and it said not to use window cleaners on it. I did use it on the front and back of the phone. Cleaning every part of the exterior of the iPhone with it. Has this damaged the phone in any way. Have I lost my ole-phobic coating and is there a way to restore it? Please help!

You should get your screen  checked by visiting an Authorized Apple Service Provider or Apple Store and ket them have a loo at the screen, just to be sure.

  • Iphone 4 battery runs completely down with no use in an hour or two.

My Iphone 4 battery, out of the blue, started running completely down in a couple hours with no use.  I would take it off the charger reading 100% and not do a thing, but the unit will get pretty warm and the battery drains.  The phone is only 3 months old and two days ago I was getting a full day to a day and a half with my ususal usage.  Anyone know what is causing this or a fix? I've tried shutting down and rebooting and for software updates?  Any advice is appreciated.
    Thanks, Josh

One thing to try is cleaning iPhone Dock Port with a clean dry toothbrush.
If still problem and you have Warranty or AppleCare Coverage take iPhone to Apple for resolution.
Another is to clean the dock port again with the toothbrush and a bit of Isopropyll Alcohol, especially clean the pins which are on top of the Dock Mid Rib.
Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons for about 10 seconds until the iPhone restarts itself, ignore the 'slide to power off' slider.
Restore Firmware, at end when iTunes asks, Restore as New, not from backup.

Clean iPhone charging port with clean dry toothbrush. See if better. If still problem clean charging port again with toothbrush and small amount of Isopropyl Alcohol.
