Cleaning my mac screen

Between my brother and sister there are finger prints all over my computer screen and I was wondering if any one had any ideas for how to clean the screen well? I've also read that there is supposed to be a cleaning cloth in the box which it says it is on the macbook pro website but no such cloth came in my computer box please help!?

Any soft, lint-free cloth will work. I kind of like cloth diapers, but that's just one possibility among many. If the fingerprints are really bad, you don't want to scrub hard or use chemicals to take them off... I find that a very slightly damp cloth works well, but you have to be careful with water on your computer! You don't want to start rubbing the screen and have a drop of water get squeezed out and run down inside!

A "MacKeeper" screen popped us and said we should clean our Mac - safe or not?

Am alert screen popped up and instructed me to clean our Mac with "MacKeeper". I closed it out not knowing what it was. Is is some sort of spam or does anyone know if it is safe?

MacKeeper is technically not what I would consider malware, but it's so close to malware I'd call it equivalent. See Beware MacKeeper.

CC logo vanished from top of Mac screen

I used to be able to update and install new CC programs using a small CC logo (looks like a link) at the top bar of the Mac screen. But it seems to have vanished.
My subscription is still valid. Does anyone know how I'd get this link back?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Just noticed that it's moved to the top of my second screen. But is greyed out. And if I scroll over it I get the Mac spinning colour wheel.

You can try this :
Please rename OOBE to OOBEE.OLD Folder from the following location
location in Window C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
location in Mac: library>.application support>>Adobe>> OOBE
After renaming the OOBE folder please uninstall Adobe creative cloud from the cleaner tool and re-installed the product from from www.creative.adobe.com/apps
PS: Please uninstall Creative cloud connection if you see in Cleaner tool.
As the above discusson also mentions renamimg, Please disable the firewall of the system & network & then retry.

Incase the error still persists, then the next best step would be to review your installation logs to determine the exact point of failure.

I have Comcast internet, my roommates PC (with viruses) runs at the speed of light while my iMac struggles. My iMac worked fine on other internet connections before we got our own internet. I've reset the modem, cleaned my Mac, still nothing helps!

As my title states, the PC works super fast and mine struggles. We have $75 internet which goes to say that our internet is mega fast. Before we got our personal modem, we were sniping other peoples internet in our apartment complex. Even with a few bars of internet from AirPort, it was going faster than our internet now. I've reset the modem, I've inserted DNS's, I've cleaned my Mac, everything I can think of. I need help. I called Comcast and they said it was my iMac. I just bought this iMac in October. It's still new to me. Comcast says it's my iMac but I do not believe them. My iMac runs fast, until I try to use the internet, so I know it's somehting with the internet. Dave I'm glad to say that it works perfectly but I'm embarrassed to say that my 12 year old nephew hooked it up in about 10 minutes.
If you have the Kanex Mini DisplayPort cable it will work, what confused me was changing the display settings in System Preferences,
and dragging the mac screen from the mac onto the tv. Sorry I cant be more helpful but you have the right cable now you need a 12 year old nephew.

Use the Finder "Go" menu while holding down the option key to expose your User / Library folder.
Look in the Application Support folder for PACE items and delete them.

Are you talking about the green '+' button in the top left corner? That technically doesn't enlarge it. It switches the window from the default window size to the custom size you made. You can enlarge the window by moving your mouse to the bottom right corner of the window, and dragging until you get the size you want.

My creative cloud app that at the top of my Mac screen has disappeared where can I find it?

My creative cloud Icon that is normally positioned at the top right of my Mac screen on the menu bar - (Creative Cloud Connection preview Icon?)

I have opened Photoshop and at the top under help I clicked on check for up dates and it comes up for about 5 seconds saying checking for up dates and then it cuts out and brings up a message that says Adobe Application Manager quite unexpectedly.
I have tried to reboot everything and install Creative Cloud desk top and it gets half way and then stops, just sits in one place unable to down load.

Nzdmalan the Adobe Creative Cloud application can be found in your Applications folder. Are you able to access the application itself? Is your computer managed by an I.T. department?

My 3rd gen ipod nano is not being read by itunes when I plug it into my mac laptop. It says "no name" on the mac screen, I lost all my music on the ipod itself.

My 3rd gen iPod nano is not being read by my iTunes on my mac. When going to sync, the mac screen says "no name". Also I believe I lost all the music on the iPod. When turned on it says "Welcome" as if it is new. I tried to copy all my music into the "no name" folder and then sync. The iPod said it was "syncing".

So does iTunes see the iPod or not? I couldn't quite understand from your post as you said it wasn't, but then said that the iPod was syncing...

After upgrading to Mavericks MacBook hangs at "Setting Up Your Mac" screen

After upgrade install of Mavericks, and logging in successfully one time my MacBook (aluminum unibody late 2008) now hangs at the "Setting Up Your Mac" screen after logging in with password. I can restart the unit with the power button but same thing happens. I powered off the unit, removed the battery and held the power button down for 30 seconds, re-installed the battery and restarted the unit but same thing happens.

Hold the Power button to turn off your computer and turn it on again. Then, see if Mavericks can start up.
If not, hold Command and R keys while your computer is starting and reinstall Mac OS X

You may have installed the "VSearch" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
Malware is constantly changing to get around the defenses against it. The instructions in this comment are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Step 1
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
/Library/LaunchAgents/com.vsearch.agent.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
          Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "com.vsearch.agent.plist" selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.
Repeat with each of these lines:

From the Safari menu bar, select
          Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Uninstall any extensions you don't know you need, including any that have the word "Spigot," "Trovi," or "Conduit" in the description. If in doubt, uninstall all extensions. Do the equivalent for the Firefox and Chrome browsers, if you use either of those.
Reset the home page and default search engine in all the browsers, if it was changed.
This trojan is distributed on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect much worse to happen in the future.
You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. The reason is that this Internet criminal has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. Apple could revoke the certificate, but as of this writing, has not done so, even though it's aware of the problem. This failure of oversight has compromised both Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
          Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
