Cleaning Ultraslim Plus Wireless Keyboard?

Hi all,
I've owned a lenovo ultraslim plus wireless keyboard and mouse combo. I love it, and it feels great to use, and is extremely versatile. It's been a year since I bought it and now it needs cleaning.
I tried removing all screws, but it doesn't seem to come apart very easily. I don't have the user guide with me so I don't know where to start.
This may be one of the most basic/stupidly simple questions on here but could anyone tell me how to get to the keys inside the keyboard without possibly damaging/breaking the keyboard bezels?

The Ultraslim Plus Wireless Kit is Wireless 2.4G solution, it is not Bluetooth solution. It has a dongle when shipping. Maybe you can check the mouse or Keyboard inside and find the dongle. You can open the mouse battery bin, it should be a dongle at top of two batteries. If you still can not find the dongle, I suggest you call the Lenovo help center since you don't have the dongle.

  • Ultraslim Plus Wireless Keyboard and Mouse not connecting

I just bought the Ultraslim Plus Wireless Keyboard and Mouse, but I can't get either to work.  My machine (ThinkPad X230-2324-HQ4) does not have a CD drive for me to use the install CD, so I found and downloaded the driver from your support site:
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/product-and-parts/detail.page?&LegacyDocID=MIGR-77112
I installed the driver properly and restarted my computer, but neither the keyboard or mouse will connect still.  I've checked the batteries, and I've verified that my ThankPad's Bluetooth drivers are up to date and working properly, but I still can't seem to get it to work.  I've found posts on here from people with similar issues, but they seem to all be related to the Ultraslim, not the Ultraslim Plus.  The Ultraslim Plus does not include a USB dongle for connection.
    Please help!

  • Ultraslim Plus Wireless keyboard/mouse with Linux

I have a Thinkpad Edge E540 with Linux Mint Cinnamon 17 installed. I am considering buying the above keyboard and mouse. The operating systems listed for the keyboard and mouse do not include Linux.  Does anyone have experience of them working with Linux?
    Thanks

  • Ultraslim Plus Wireless KB&Mouse GUI language

    Hi.
I got a brand new Lenovo Ultraslim Plus Wireless Keyboard and Mouse combo, installed the newest drivers from Lenovo, but its GUI is in my regional language. I'm in Slovakia, but my complete OS and all my programs are in English, so I want to have it in English language. How to change it? There are no options for changing the language in the GUI. I found some language IDs in some .ini files where Slovak is 19, English is 1, but I didn't find anything where I could change that number. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Du müsstest also Tastatur, Maus und Dongle immer komplett tauschen.
    Gruß
    Sebastian

  • Cleaning an Apple Wireless Keyboard A1016

Today I picked up an Apple Wireless Keyboard model A1016 at a church  rummage sale for $2. Despite having horribly corroded batteries in it,  after cleaning the corrosion, it works just fine. However, it is filthy.  I can see dirt and grim in the clear sides. How do I take apart this  keyboard to clean it?

You can and can't, learned from my recent problem.  The letter-keys "a" and "z" on my A1016 wouldn't type. I keep a clean keyboard, occasionally brush all keys horizontally and vertically with a (new, never used but for this purpose) paintbrush.  Then use the brush attachment on the vacuum to suck out what it can.  Sometimes use the vacuum in exhaust to blow warm air into board.  Did this. Didn't help.   Then read about popping off the keys, a & z, and was rather surprised to see, yes, dirt and a few hairs.  Swabbed the area with Q-tips, got all clean.  This is what you can do, pop keys (keep a board handy or keyboard screen capture to know where to put keys back on), just pry off with a flat blade, clean to your heart's content, replace keys.  This I did.  Still no a & z.  After saying **** several times, I set keyboard outside in strong sun.  I thought maybe something would expand in heat. (No way could there be moisture inside, I am too neat, but what the ****, it was worth a shot.)  After a few hours I got a & z back.  Overnight, had some trouble the next morning, set board in sun, typed on it in a better position and all was, has been, well.  After "cleaning' my board, in strong sun I noticed a bit of dust in the clear sides and bottom.  Well, this will be easy, I'll just undo the three tiny screws holding the lucite caseing.  I've every screwdriver imaginable, but not this tiny one! None of mine will fit.  Am working on this, for the A1016 is something built, put together, has screws for a reason, so there must be a way to get the board out of the lucite housing.  Just undo a few simple screws, clean the caseing.  I'm working on getting the proper driver.  When fussing I've no a & z to friends it was suggested I get one of those Radio Shack cans of compressed air, use the long red thin tube and blast away.  That might "clean" the bottom of your unit a bit.  As well, something I am going to do when the chance comes up, at your local Mac store (if you've one), ask them how they take a keyboard apart.  I think they've a special screwdriver. Anything built can be taken apart.  If you can get the lucite away from the board, that housing can be cleaned.

  • Install of Ultraslim Plus KB/Mouse

After install, the function Keys (other than F5) do not work per PC Doctor tests. All other keys and the mouse function as expected.  I believe the problem is due to incorrect install. There have been other keyboards/mouse installed and the instructions for installing say all mouse and KB drivers (including preinstalled Ultraslim drivers) must be uninstalled before installing the Ultraslim drivers.  But how do you do that?  1st problem is the drivers that had been installed and now their hardware removed, are no longer displayed by Device Manager so how do you find these drivers to uninstall?  2nd problem with all the driver uninstalled you no longer can communicate with the system. (Although it allows PS2 drivers to remain - there are no PS2 ports)?  And finally how do you prevent PnP from reinstalling a driver before the user can run Ultraslim driver install program.

  • Wireless keyboard weird behavior (useless)

    Hello.
Today I cleaned up my wireless keyboard with a tissue and a little of alcohol but after I cleaned the keyboard starts to have a weird behavior: The keys are not working, other keys are like stuck and depressed and other just does not respond.
The keyboard is useless like that.
I will let it dry well until tomorrow to see if it works. The batteries are new.
Any help will be very useful.
    Thank you.

If alcohol got inside the keyboard you may have ruined it however only time will tell. If it does going forward it's OK to use isopropyl alcohol however put it on a rag or cotton ball and use that to rub the keyboard clean.

  • Wireless Keyboard & Missing framework?

I'm trying to use Apple's Wireless Mouse & Keyboard Updater to update the firmware and hopefully fix my connectivity issues. However...
The updater won't run, so I tried it with the terminal and got the following output:

What is this framework? Should I have it? Where can I get it?
I Just finished erasing and re-installing MacOS (from 10.3 to 10.4) last weekend, so the OS should be a totally clean install.

My Wireless Keyboard has never been as reliable as one might expect, and since 10.4.6 or so, it has become a dust collector.
I have the firmware update installed, but the latest KBmouse updater refuses to be installed on my G4 Cube. "Cannot be installed on this computer."
when I scan for the keyboard, I get "device does not have necessary services."
    Any thoughts.............? Thanks

  • Imac Wireless Keyboard Cleaning

    Hi guys,
Could I use those L-Type Key Wrench to open from the back of the wireless keyboard? Could that be an easier way to clean it rather than having to extract key by key as some people suggested in the forum?
    Thanks for any help
    Sebastiao

Either get better grade rechargable batteries with charger or just
DItch the Apple wireless keyboard and get their wired version instead.
OR, look at Mac specific keyboards from, Logitech, Microsoft, Kensington, Macally or Matias.
The plus with the wired keyboard is the you get two extra USB 2 ports.
Also, if your Wireless Magic Mouse is eating batteries, same strategy, use better rechargable lithium batteries and charger or try Apple's wireless track pad ( reports indicate that it is better on batteries than the Magic Mouse) or look and better wireless mouse offerings from Microsoft, Logitech, Kensington or Macally.
Apple's wireless device really, REALLY suck on battery life. They look and work great, but they are poor performers with batteries and battery life.. I wish Apple would get rid of their older style wired mouse and make a wired version of the Magic Mouse.
Funny thing, we keep getting posts like this, but when you initially order an iMac from Apple's online store, you get the options of ordering a new iMac with a wired keyboard and wired mouse instead of the wireless setup.
Everyone seems to miss this when ordering online.

  • Plus and minus keys on wireless keyboard?

hi there everyone. i've got a new aluminum wireless keyboard and i love it to bits. gorgeous bit of design and elegance. on the previous apple keyboard however there was a couple of handy keys next to the numeric pad for 'plus' and 'minus'. Does anyone know how i can find these on the wireless keyboard? these were particularly handy when hit with the 'command' key to increase or decrease the size of text in safari.

excellent, thank you, i'd obviously not looked at my keyboard closely enough! cheers...

  • Is it possible to use the Apple wireless keyboard with the iPhone 6? Will the Magic Mouse work with iMovie on iPhone6 Plus?

iPhone 6 page says that iMovie is a (free) application available for iPhone 6. When I use it on the desktop I need a mouse. Should I expect all controls to be touch-sensitive, or is it possible to use the wireless Magic Mouse? Similarly, if I want to type an email or a long document, is it possible to use the Mac wireless keyboard to enter text? With the iPhone 6 Plus taking over for laptops (phablet), it seems to me that input tools are relevant. Maybe what I'm asking is whether the iPhone6 (OS8) has drivers for these devices. Please advise.

Apps that are designed for iOS devices such as the iOS version of iMovie are intended to be used entirely by touch. It's worth noting that iMovie for iOS is not absolutely identical to iMovie for Mac OS.

  • My apple wireless keyboard got wet a year ago i sprayed the cleaning spray on it some of the keys are working but some of the keys aren"t working. it got sprayed a year ago What should i do??? Can it be recovered plz tell?

I sprayed it a year ago i really like the keyboard and i really need it can it be recovered??? My apple wireless keyboard got wet a year ago i sprayed the cleaning spray on it some of the keys are working but some of the keys aren"t working. it got sprayed a year ago What should i do??? Can it be recovered plz tell?

There is almost no chance it can be recovered, except at a cost far greater than a new keyboard.  Once wet, spraying with a cleaner will not do any good and most likely will make the situation worse.
Best thing at this point is go to your Apple store, or the on-line store, and buy a new keyboard.  Water damage is not covered by the warranty or AppleCare.

  • Cleaned the keys on my wireless keyboard, 5 keys not working.

Cleaned the keys on my wireless keyboard with rubbing alcohol. Now my number 2 key, w, s, x and caps lock keys won't work. I copy and paste these right now. I did notice the cotton balls were saturated and some seeped out, but I didn't notice that my keys didn't work till 2 days later. I did leave my keyboard in the sun to see if it helped for about 45 min. It's still not working. Any suggestions? Hope There is a way to save my keyboard.

I did notice the cotton balls were saturated and some seeped out,
Never clean a keyboard with rubbing alcohol and never leave the keyboard in the sun, or any Apple products for that matter.
You may need to purchase a new keyboard.
In the future, follow the instructions here >  How to clean Apple products

After mavericks updating ,i cant pair my wireless keyboard keyboard working but just not pairing  , plus my mac is logged out for logging in to reach the preferences  i need my keyboard back any help would be here? Ps: i dont have another keyboard to connect .

    For the both of you.
Turn your Mac on, wait until the login screen appears.
Turn off your keyboard, wait several seconds. Hopefully a "Keyboard turned off" or "Keyboard disconnected" comes up. Then remove the batteries.
Turn the Mac off then turn it back on.
When it turns back on, it should say missing keyboard or something of the sort. Put the batteries back into the keyboard and turn it back on. Hopefully it should start talking again.
It sounds like you two have a Mac that doesn't have a built-in keyboard. So you could easily reset the SMC...
