Cleaning up my account

I only bring this up here because the question occured when I tried to change some settings in Acrobat.com. I would like to change my email address from work to my personal email address but it says that address is allready in use. Is it possible to find out how that one is being used and how I can clean up settings for even my Adobe account?
Steven D.

Hi Steven,
I'm going to send you to the Adobe ID and Membership FAQ:

You can reach out to Adobe Customer Service from this page, and they should be able to help.

  • Clean up old account - deleting not enough...

I have 2 admin accounts on a Powerbook G4. One account "Sally", upon login, will go to the blue desktop screen then hang or return to the login screen. The other login "Todd" works fine. I ran Disk Utility and Disk Warrior with no positive results. I said heck with it and deleted the "Sally" account. I created a new account using the same account name "Sally" and I still can't login (just goes to blue screen). I created another account "test" and it works fine.
What information still exists, after I delete her account, that is corrupting the new account? And how do I clean it up?
I don't want to simply create a new account for her with a different name.

When you create an new account, and delete the new account later with the Systempreference Accounts, specific files, such as caches, temporary files etc., which are created under this account will not removed. They are remains of the deleted user id and still exist in the Librarys.
For the complete removal of the files, you must find the files with the user id. Normal 502, if this is the second created account.
    Open your Terminal and use
    sudo find / -user 502
to find the files for the second user.
    Use:sudo find / -user 502 -delete
    to delete the files
Be sure, that is not your id. Your id should been 501.
Check it before with id 501 or id name

  • Magic: After installing Lion on a clean HD, all accounts and programs are back

After I've erased my iMac, I did a clean install through an external USB with Lion 10.7.4. MAGIC: All former user-accounts and programs (include office) are back again.
    What was happened?
I'm using iCloud and Time Mashine. A few days before, my iMac (10.7.5) had some errors, and than suddenly, it didn't start again. I've tried to reinstall from Time Mashine, but after about 60%, it had quit with an error. It might been an HD error, so I did an secure erase (with Disc Utility). After that, I booted from my USB with 10.7.4 installer and have installed Lion, restarted, and than there it was: All former user accounts and programs are back! I've thought, I has got crazy. But now, I hope, someone can explain me, what has happend.
    Thanks for answers,

No worries, it was late, I was a little loopy and having a little fun while trying to help. You just keep poppin' away!
Well we are on the same page my friend haha.
    Good to hear.
I completed a fresh install of Lion on my HDD and migrated my data over with the migration assitant and all has worked well. Not flawlessly however all problems I encountered I could get past with a little thinking.
I must say the computer is running so much better now (touch wood, I dont want to post this and have my computer crash xD). No more spinning beach ball, no more waiting excessively for apps to launch. In terms of speed it appears it is now close to the way SL used to be (of course I dont expect it to be on par as Lion is a new OS which is yet to be refined).
    Excellent!
In terms of battery life I cannot comment, I am yet to use the computer for a period of time on battery. I will report back when I do so, most likely in a day or so (if that).
I must recommend that if anyone is experiancing slow downs of their Mac after installing Lion, and it is obviously not Spotlight indexing to blame, that they try this. It does appear to improve general speed.
That is good for many people to know, so thank you.
I do hope Apple release updates and patches for Lion quite soon, it still has bugs in my mind.
I have no information on it, but I would bet on it.
Thanks for all of your help tjk, your a star!
Wow, those are kind words. Thank you, and you are quite welcome.

  • 11.1.2.3, clean up member from existing UDA's, members should have no UDA at all.

    Hi,
    (Essbase 11.1.2.3)
I want to clean up member (Account) from existing UDA's, so that in the end there are no UDA at all.
    The docu says:
"Note:To remove a UDA value, use Enable UDA changes, and, in the data source, leave the relevant UDA field blank"
    https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24674_01/epm.1112/eas_help/frameset.htm?ruleuda.html
However I can not make it...
Tried the following in the data file: (I have not tested it with a SQL source yet)
    Member(level0), UDA(level(0)
    K12345 <tab>
    K12345 <tab> ""
    K12345 <tab> <blank>
    K12345 <tab> " "
    K12345 <tab> <blank> <tab>
    K12345 <tab> " " <tab>
Also changed the separator from <tab> to ";" and tried all of the obove again.
I alway get the "Success" message after the Dim load, however the already existing UDA's still remain. When I give it a "dummy" UDA (e.g. "noUDA" in the data file these UDA value replaces the existing (one or many). However I dont want such "dummy" stuff in the otl.
    Has someone a hint?
    Thanks in advance!
    Andre

Hi Andre - I just tested this with a parent-child file against the Market dimension of Sample.Basic in 11.1.2.3.505, and it worked for me leaving it blank. Structure of the file was:  Parent     Child     UDA
In the global Dimension Build Properties I selected Market then checked 'Allow Property Changes' and 'Allow UDA Changes'.
In the UDA field's Dimension Build Properties I set the dimension to 'Market', field to type UDA, and I also checked 'Delete when the field is empty' (it's all the way at the bottom of the field properties list, below 'Ignore Field for Dimension Build').
Since you don't mention it, I wonder if you missed that last step?

  • Is having two admin accounts on an iMac like having two separate computers?

I mean, for example, do you need to run items like Lion Cache Cleaner for each account?

FWIW, I do none of that stuff, preferring to let the OS do its own cleanup. See:

  • Mobile Account Error Setting Up Leopard Client, createmobileaccount error.

Hi all. I posted this discussion under Portable Home Directories, but that is unfortunately a subcategory of Max OS X Server v10.4 Tiger and this is strictly a Leopard issues, so I'm reposting here.
Just following up on an earlier thread regarding mobile home accounts. Thought I'd post a new entry as the other one has been "answered".
I've just recently upgraded a slew of clients and a server to Leopard and have been trying to enable mobile accounts on existing network home accounts. When I set this as a Preference using Workgroup Manager, nothing happens on the clients. When I try to create a mobile account directly on the client while logged in as the network user, I get a standard error (The mobile account could not be created.) every time after it asks to log out and enter the user password in order to create the mobile account.
So, I followed the steps in this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1234051&tstart=0
For the account "leedale" logged in using a network home directory, entered the Terminal command as follows:

    Hi,
The namespace you are using for creating client proxy might not be available for consumption(i.e. it might not be published) or there is no connectivity to the source system so namespace is not available.
    Try checking connection.
    Hoping it helps..

  • Apple mail crashes on start-up: user account corrupt?

    Hi
I have installed all the latest software updates, but my Mail keeps crashing. I have cleaned (reset) plist and emptied and cleaned the address book, but the problem persists. I have created a new user account and Mail works fine for that account. I think that I have a corrupt user account. Is there anyway to clean a user account without losing all my doc's etc?

  • To view "Daily ID Administrators Activity" & "Dormant Accounts"

    Dear Hyperion Users,
I am looking out for the below ones on Hyperion 9.3.1.
    1. Daily ID Administrators Activity [User maintenance, to track any changes on user's access, etc]
    2. Dormant Accounts - Account which are not used or which are idle for certain time [Lets say user who hasn't logged on for 3 months] and remove/clean up the accounts.
I have opened SR with Oracle on the above 2 points and they conveyed that Hyperion 9.3.1 doesn't provide any of the above information.
    3. User Access Profile Listing : I could log on to Shared Services and create User access listing report via "Administration" -> "View Report".
We have Hyperion Planning, HFM, Essbase and BI+ applications and I need your help in finding posibility of creating customised query or find way to get these "Daily ID Administrators Activity" & "Dormant Accounts" information for my Hyperion Applications.
    Thanks in advance.

Finding dormant accounts in Essbase specifically (so it depends what you mean by 'Hyperion', but you are posting in the Essbase forum :) ) comes up frequently. I believe the information in this thread - Info of Last login details of Users - is still accurate, and I'm sure it would be correct regarding 9.3.1.
EDIT: Must have read that too quickly, as I see you've listed your apps - but what I wrote above stands re Essbase!

  • I see briefly the content of my Mail Inbox of an IMAP account, then everything disappear and the inbox is empty

    Hi There,
I have beeen experiencing for the past few days some issues with my Inbox of an IMAP based email account. My inbox is empty.
When I start mail my Inbox is empty after briefly appearing at the sgtart of the application.
I installed thunderbird to verify that my IMAP account was not the issue and I can clearly see, receive and send email.
I can also access that account via a webmail interface and everything seems fine.
The problem started occuring after getting some error messages from the server indicating that I had gobe over the allocated quota. I cleaned up the account but now mail does present me an empty inbox. Again the account info are valid, nothing has changed.
The interesting things is that my iphone & ipad that are using the same setup and my inbox is also empty there.
With mountain lion (clean install), I can see the emails arriving via the notification bar.
I am at a loss and would appreciate any help if somebody has encountered such a problem.
    Thanks
    Eric

Try closing the Mail app completely : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
Also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Any way to remove rows in "provisioning" state under accounts tab in OIM

    Hi Experts,
Is there anyway to remove the rows under user's accounts tab which are in "provisioning" state. These will no longer be used and somehow these attempts to provision account failed in the past.

Aye, entries for Accounts are stored in OIU, but you'll leave some trash references in the ORC and others.
I use this script to do a quick clean of the accounts of a single resource. I'm not even sure if it's complete, probably not.
I use it only in development and test environments, didn't encounter any problems so far tho.

  • Cannot Import Calendar To Exchange Account

I have a clean Office 365 account and have exported an existing Calendar as an ics file but when I try to import it to Exchange, it warns about changing some information headings, then complains about overlapping and recurring events (Unless its counting all-day events I don't think there are any overlaps left, I tried to remove them all) then it hangs and imports nothing.
    Any ideas?

Wanted to chime in and say I'm having the same problem. Had to go back to Outlook which feels ancient. Hope Apple fixes this soon.

  • Please support to remove the icloud account on my iphone

This is my story, i have a brother, he came to US 1 years ago, he go there to study, and after few months he bought an iphone 5 from a friend, and in the summer he came back to Viet Nam, and gave me that iphone, but i when i try to restore that iphone, it stuck on the icloud account, and my brother dont know that. so please support to clean this icloud account so i can use it normally please. My english is not good so please understand. thanks alot

Deleting the iCloud account only requires you to delete the account, unless you did something you were not supposed to do. This action sounds like you had, or had someone install iOS 7 beta on the device and now you cannot delete the account based on Find My iPhone which is one of the new features in iOS 7. Does this apply to you?

So any help on what the problem is?
Besides just deleting it from the Internet Accounts and having to re-sync the entire google mail account any one have any suggestions? I don't know if even just deleting that 1 would do anything more than remove 1 of the Mail.app accounts.

I have lots of personalities. (kidding)
I have a couple of personal accounts that I use frequently. Plus a generic address for my blog domain, plus a few that were created under my business (my name, sales, support, etc) that I need to monitor. Too much email of course... but still necessary.

  • Fixing everything in new migrated Admin account

I have been trying to move everything from my old Mac to the new Mac mini.
By Time Machine and two Migration Assistant tries until the Mail got ok.
I would like to get all feedback I can get on the subject:
First of all, I am unsure myself about especially the Unix and underlying things. Like Admin rights.
I have right now about 5 accounts, One old Admin, which I intend to keep. I moved things I wanted to have to a new (user) account, and thereby I left "a segmentation/layer/period of files and things" there. So it's left for two reasons. And One account that I made just to have a clean iPhoto and account for a relatives project. And then also I made a new account during the mini install (used when migrating the first) time, the id of which I'd really like keep as main user account. But I seem to have gotten things and Mail especially, working on a fifth account, Admin right now, which got there when I migrated the second time.
So now I plan to use the fifth Account as main (user) account. But I'm a bit unsure what rights and things that have to be fixed for things to work even though I remove the Admin rights.
And I really would like to keep the fourth account as main Admin account, it has the id I'd like to keep.(I think I read somewhere that you cannot change the id:s.) I'm not sure how to clean out whatever excess files that this account may have.
From the old user account I also need to move the App and settiings files to the main user account, although I hope that the second migration mixed a lot.
So I think I have a good plan for all accounts.
I had trouble getting the Mail migrated ok. It did not work ok to move all mail between accounts, so I skipped this. I also did once a Mail "Backup" on Mail - is this how I could have moved the mails between accounts?
Another things is iTunes. It now seems ok on my user account, although the Playing Lists (also "Bought") seems to have got lost. ?!
I looked at the size of User files after the migrations to the two different user (Admin for the moment) accounts, they seem to maybe be identical.
I have to go through all Apps to check that my user account works, especially when I turn off the Admin rights.
I am quite unsure if especially all settings are ok.
I think the Moble Applications for my iPad gor moved ok. I have to dowload some App to to see if that works.
One major task is how to fix all file system rights, since I now realise that I will switch both my Admin and the User account.
I have my user files on an external disk, where it is located in Users/account/* I am a bit unsure how to set those rights.
Finally, the things I missed, whas that I turned off Time Machine backup during the first Migration, but I missed the second time so I got a strange Time Machine backup made in the middle of things. I am unsure if I in any safe way could get rid of this backup. Right now Time Machine is turned off, until I am satisfied with things.
    I also now realize that:
The Install and Migration was a bit troublesome as it got done.
I suspect that I should have run Migration Assistant booted from a USB stick Mountain Lion that I have, or from a temporary partition or something. So that I did not have to so much fixing afterwards. (I mayby never wanted extra accounts, and I am not sure how things will work out now.)
And finally, now, I would appreciate ideas and pointers to Forum postings about these matters. I am very thankful for what really good stuff I found after a while, Migrating was not as easy as it seemed to be! (Also, you should not do things like this if your not concentrated... :-(   ).
    Thanks!

    Thanks!
As I have now, I will do as I planned. But the second Migration I did was to Migrate a second time. From Restored OS. But I had three accounts from before, som that still was a problem.
The Setup Guide was great, at least I now know how to fix the moving and rights setting.
I am unsure if also my unneccessary Time Backups still would have to removed, so I would not give it anoter try.
I am grateful for all ideas!
