Cleaning up the blue shadow around text

Hi,
I am working with Photoshop CS2. I snagged text from a webpage using snag-it. Then, I opened the file in Photoshop. There is like a bluish cast around each letter. I was wondering how to I clean that up so that each letter has a white background. In other words, when you enlarge the image, there are blue-green specks around each letter. Any suggestions?

Well the first mistake is thinking that you could snag something from the web and it would look good.
You can use 'select colour range' to select the unwanted pixels and delete them but it is not really going to look that good when you are finished. If you snagged a .gif file, all bets are off.
It would be simpler to reset the text in PS and recreate the file at a higher resolution then use SFW if you intend to use it for the web.

  • What are the blue lines around text in a text box in Pages 09?

I'm now seeing blue lines around all of the text in any text box in my Pages layout document.  Its a bit annoying as it makes it hard to see the layout when I'm working in the text box.  See below.  Just curious if this an issue or some undocumented feature I'm not aware of

Any text was copied and pasted from documents not the web.  Interestingly, if I add a new text box, the "Type here to enter text" also has the blue lines around it.  However, if I select all and delete that text, I can now type text without the blue lines.
Also, if I create a new page layout document and add a text box, there are no blue lines.
Its all very strange and seems to be eluding everyone.
    Thanks however, for your help.

  • Blue border around text in iBooks Author

Hello everyone - I have a question that I believe is a stupid setting I can't remember how to deselect.
I have a Blue border around all text in my ibooks author file. It looks like this:
PLEASE tell me how to get rid of it - if not, what it IS!!!
    Thanks!!

Just means linked/flowing - did you study the hits on the right, under 'More Like This' yet?

  • Blue lines around text

I have written text and blue lines appear around the text.
Also i cannot mark words for the wordlist in this text.
How can i make normal text from this part?

  • How do I get rid of the Blue line around an image that is a link that only happens after a click?

    This is not the standard link problem. I have already put in: a img { border : none; }
That took care of not having a blue border around the image all the time.
My problem is that when I actually click on the image, it flashes with a red outline then turns bright blue and stays there untill I click off the image. Then it turns normal.
I have gone through the CSS and put (border: none) on everything I can think of. These images are in the sidebar, stacked vertically. Each is a link to a page and they are all doing the same thing.
I hope someone can help me solve this problem.
    Thanks, Alice

    Try:
    a {
       outline: 0;

  • Removing the blue line around a linked image  in IE

I've got a "bookmark this page" button that I can't get the
blue line off of. I got it out in firefox by giving the image a

  • Turning off the blue light around MicroPh

Is this possible? I know it kill's battery.. and other then looking cool it's pointless.

The blue light will not affect the battery life much, it's nothing to worry about. Things like skipping tracks, high volume and high bitrates are the type of things that make a difference to battery life (or the backlight, if you keep turning it on to see the song or skip to the next one).

  • Make the purple box around text and icon of a button go away?

I have noticed that the first button of a group (or the last one pressed) displays a purple box around the text and/or the icon of a button. I don't want this. How do I get rid of it?

Have you tried setting the colour that you want manually? Or perhaps setting the setOpaque() method with false?
Not entirely sure what you mean...what look and feel are you using? Is it the Metal LAF or something else?

  • Blue line around active boxes disappears, cannot figure out why....

Hi ... hope you can help me with this, it's a minor irritation but it's driving me nuts. I'm writing a report that has several boxes with imported graphics in it.
The active boxes have a light blue line around it, with tiny clear boxes in the corners and side mid-points. I can drag any of those tiny boxes to resize the image, or use the metrics inspector to enter the dimensions numerically. But sometimes, when I make the boxes larger, the blue line around the active box disappears.
Those blue lines lining the active box are useful for aligning the graphics boxes, so it would be nice if they stopped disappearing on me.
    Anyone know why that happens?
    Thanks!

I don't have any troubles selecting and aligning text boxes and graphics since I stopped sending them all the way to the back (arrange menu/send to back). There are times when you want them back there but most of the time you don't. Pages uses layers and one of the layers is the default text layer. Anything behind this text layer is difficult to select.
You can select items behind the text layer by clicking in the area outside the margins and drag the pointer over to the graphic without releasing the mouse. If you use the 'send backward' command the object still remains easy to select.
Some objects that have transparent areas (PDF's created from eps files for example) can only be selected by the click and drag method described above or by carefully positioning the pointer over a black or colored area until the pointer turns from a cursor to a pointer.

  • "Shadow" around Canvas in PS CS5 and how to remove it?

    Hi everybody,
forgive me if this was answered before, I did a search but did not find anything relevant ...
I upgraded to PS CS5 recently and there seems to be a new "Feature" of a sort of shadow around every page/canvas.
Maybe the correct term would be "Page Shadow" ... ?
Imagine a plain white document of, say, 500 by 500 pixels.
When I resize its (non-tabbed) window to make it bigger than the document itself, I don't get a sharp border between the white document and the grey window-background as it used to be.
Instead there is this "Page Shadow" around it, which I find very annoying and it wasn't there before in CS4 or any other version I remember.
I looked everywhere, but I can't find any option to remove this shadow.
I really want to get rid of it though, any tips on what I may be missing ??
    Thanks
    Duuude
P.S.: I hope what I wrote makes any sense, English is not my first language ...

    Hi Zeno,
Thank you for letting us know this. I turned it off. Its really annoying when working on images
as it give it a fuzzy edge look that bugs my eye.

Just an FYI, the drop shadow around the image was first introduced in CS4 but it needs OpenGL Drawing enabled from Edit->Preferences->Performance to work.

  • What are the square brackets around paragraphs and heads?

I am hoping that someon can hlep me with this topic. I can not seems to find anything on this matter.
I have recieved an InDesign file for a book that we are updating the design and content for. All the text in this file has Square brackets, at the begining and end, of each paragraph or head. I have never seen this before, coming from a Quark background.
The characters are visible in "normal mode", but they disapear when you view in "preview" mode.
Can anyone please tell me what the Square brackets around text means?

If you are using OSX this AppleScript should remove all of the XML tags, but test it carefully on a copy of the document:
    tell application "Adobe InDesign CS3"
    try
untag (every XML element of document 1)
    end try
    end tell
If you are not on a Mac I'm sure you could get the equivalent JavaScript at the scripting forum.

  • How to disable the blue highlight boxes around links?

I've created a document in InDesign CS5, and when viewed on Adobe Reader 10.2 (on an iPad) all the table of contents links within the document, and all links to external websites have a blue highlight field around them. While I appreciate the fact that it makes it obvious where links are, it looks remarkably ugly to have huge blue highlights all over the document. There must be a way to turn these highlights off, right? Either from the source document within InDesign before the PDF is created, or from within Adobe Reader or Acrobat after the PDF is made? I have all the links within InDesign set to "Invisible Rectangle", and it looks great when viewed on older versions of Adobe Reader or in iBooks. Unfortunately, older versions of Adobe Reader don't support hyperlinks on tablets. So somebody using Reader 10.2, however, is now forced to view this document with ugly blue highlights. Is the only option to avoid the highlights to recommend everyone use iBooks to view the document, or is there a way in Reader 10.2 to disable these?

Thanks, but I already have all the hyperlinks set to "Invisible Rectangle", and there are still blue highlight fields around the links in Reader 10.2. If I view the PDF in other programs (iBooks, older versions of Reader) the links appear without the blue highlights. All the research I've done on this seems to point to the blue highlight fields being a "feature" of Reader 10.2, but I can't imagine that Adobe would create a feature with such a visual impact on documents without offering the option to turn that feature off? In a lot of print, online, and interactive docs both text and images are used as links (icons, buttons, etc) and having an automatic blue highlight around them really takes away from the visual impact that graphics provide. There must be an option somewhere to disable or turn these off, but I haven't been able to find it yet. Any other suggestions/ideas?

  • My screen dims and shrinks with a blue outline around the window.  It won't let me do anything unless it goes back to normal, but it won't stay that way for long.  What is wrong and how do I fix it?

When I start up my screen will rapidly shrink to a smaller size with a blue border around the window.  It rapidly goes from full screen to this smaller screen with the blue border and back again.  It seems to be affected by the use of the mouse.  My mouse was old so I bought a new one....didn't help.  When I have to tabs or two applications open they seperate, shrink, and appear simultaniously on the screen.  This just started happening.
