Clear look on 12i EBS

Hi,
As i am new to 12i EBS i don't know any thing in it
Just i have installed the 12i Vision database in linux
And i know how to start and stop the db and apps
In my installation folder i have noticed that inside /v01/oracle/VIS 3 folders are there (db apps inst)
I need to know what these three are?
Now the default database 11g is used by 12i but i have noticed there are the other two 10.1.2 and 10.1.3 also there in location /apps/tech_st
why these two are needed?
Then is it possible to control the database with the tools OEM,isqlplus,DBCA which we use in normal database installation process?
Please give me a clear idea on 12i EBS
I also need to clarify many of the other doubts also

Hi,
All your questions are answered in [Oracle Applications Concepts|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B53825_03/current/acrobat/121oacg.pdf] manual.

  • Clear cache via a EBS System Admin page.

    It has been years since my first OAF page is developed.
    I recall that there is a way to clear the cache via a EBS System Admin screen so the FK modificaiton reflects the change right away. but I just couldn't find it anywhere now.
    If you know the way to find that screen, please let me know.
    Thanks a lot!.

  • Look like a rock star?... But I prefer old clear look!

    I don't like the new aluminum design of iPod Nano, but I think that new battery (up to 24 hours) is a good idea!
    The question is if Apple going to continue producing iPod Nano with old body and new battery or this is a dead end for old-designed models???

    I don't like iPod Mini and the Nano was a new branch of iPods, but now Nano's replacing Mini - so we lost one branch of a tree
    Personally I think it's a risky commercial step of Apple - as I remember, Mini was never a seller hit...

  • Clearing VAT GL open items with EBS

    In some countries like France and Mexico. VAT  taxes are not recognized when an invoice is issued, but when a payment is made.
    I want to clear VAT GL Open items using Bank reconciliation EBS. Instead of clearing using Deferred process program RFUMSV50
    I would appreciate if anyone of you that has been dealing with clearing VAT taxes using EBS kindly make some comments or share some experience.
    Thanks in advance for your information.

    when you clear the open item, the system will pick up the exchange rate mentioned in the tables (Tcode OB08) and the difference in the exchange rate entered in the invoice and the exchange from the tables at the time of payment will  be proposed.
    If you enter the payment document with the same exchange rate you had given at the time of invoicing, there will not be any difference.
    Check you settings in OB08.

    Hi Swatik
    If you see in Posting rule CHIC 2 you haven't defined any accountsysmbol and posting  posting key  for Credit side
    to post this you need to go in FEBA . ENter you company code , House bank and account ID . then Execute . here you can see all bank statment .
    Now choose the statement number you want to post and then expand to see all transaction . There you will this Entry in RED . Now  select that transaction and do RIGHt and click on ON post . This will take to Transaction F-05 .where you can post .
    THIS  RULE IS DEFINED TO POST MANUALLY INSTEAD OF AUTOMATICALLY ..

  • Demantra with EBS 12i

    Hi Team,
    I am in the process of integrating demantra with EBS 12i and following below docs

    Challenge is deploying demantra war file on 10g AS (10.1.3) which comes with 12i EBS
    referenced documents talks about using EM tool for 10g AS but i could not find one even "dcmctl" commands are not working.
    after much searching I was able to find dcmct command in 10.1.2 home but it is also throwing wearied errors.
    if any body have experience with demantra with 12i EBS kindly help.
    Regards
    Amar

    How did you apply the Demantra interop patch to the R12 instance? It is also not yet certified for R12. I wonder how well the collections are populating data in the R12 demantra schema.

  • Fusion vis-a vis EBS

    I'm not sure but people around say that once Oracle Fusion comes into play, and clients shift into this mode, Oracle apps technical consultants will have a
    tough time as Developer forms and reports will become passe. Knowldege of Java will become an absolute necessity, and all reports will be developed in XML.
    I have a few queries in this context.
    a) How is Fusion expected to be different from the 11i and 12i EBS packages used today?
    b) When is Fusion expected to come into prominence?
    c) Are technical consultants indeed going to struggle in this scenario?

    A couple of the things I have been told:
    Forms will not be part of Fusion
    Fusion will be a completely new application (i.o.w. it is not a combined product of all the applications that Oracle has acquired over the last years).
    Will technical consultants be struggling? well, that is hard to tell. We will all have to struggle, I guess, to get used to this new application.
    Please take a look at the presentation by Nadia Bendjedou, Director of Product Strategy and Application Development:
    10 Thing you can do today to prepare for Fusion Applications
    (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/applications/events/oow-2007/s290852.pdf)
    This might give you an idea.

  • EBS settings

    Hi All,
    We have a vendor line item which is required to be cleared automatically when the EBS is uploaded on the basis of the document number which will be provided by bank in MT940. At that time, the entry shall be Vendor Debit to Bank Credit. We are not carrying out the automatic payment run. Hence no bank clearing account is involved.
    Now to achieve above scenario, while defining posting rules in EBS settings, we have done following configuration,
    1. Posting area as 2 "Sub ledger Accounting"
    2. Posting type is selected as 7 " Clear deb.subledg.ac"
    To clear vendor directly, system goes to T code FB05, when we execute FF_5 for uploading the bank statement. However in FB05, the account type considered is 'D' by default. Since we have a posting related to vendor, we want account type to be selected as K.
    Can anyone let me know how we can pass account type K while uploading the bank statement or is there any other method for clearing vendor directly when EBS is uploaded?
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Aman Goel

    Hi Aman
    Hein is right . You can use a search string based on the information you will get in the Note to payee field.
    For e.g in case of direct debit which can have external transaction code as NDDT negative, and bank gives a string say "Direct debit" in the note to payee field.
    You can define a search string say, "NDDT", defination
    D-> K
    i-> blank
    r-> blank
    e-> blank
    c-> blank
    t-> blank
    -> blank
    d-> blank
    e-> blank
    b->blank
    i->blank
    t->blank
    This Search String "NDDT", will populate the target field - Account type with value 'K"
    Thanks

  • EBS - How to process NEFT Rejections

    Hi All
    We are implementing EBS in India Company codes using Citibank BAI2 format. How can we handle NEFT Rejections using EBS functionality ?
    Current Process for NEFT Rejections :-
    ZP Accounting document clears Vendor Invoice [ Day 1 ]
    Dr Vendor
    Cr EFT Clearing GL
    Manual Bank reconciliation creates BR Accounting document [ Day 2 ]
    Dr EFT Clearing GL [ Clears above GL Line item ]
    Cr Cash gl account
    Day 3, Citibank sends NEFT Rejections in email. Details include 'Customer Reference field' which has combination of CompanyCode & ZP Document #. Business user manually finds vendor number and posts following entry -
    Document type KE [ Day 3 ]
    Cr Vendor
    Dr EFT Clearing gl account
    Using EBS, first preference is to get similiar KE Document entries above. Is it possible in SAP while using EBS ?
    If that is difficult, what are other options in standard SAP to meet this requirement ??
    Please provide feedback
    Thanks

  • F5 263 (Difference too large for clearing)

    Hi ,
    Can any one help us please.
    when we tried to upload a bank statement MT940 its giving out a error as "F5 263 (Difference too large for clearing)". We checked out whether there are open items or not, and found that open items are there but still the system is behaving in this way suddenly for the past one week. Before that it was working well.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Update check status in FPCHR (issued from FI-CA) using EBS

    Hi All -
    We are planning to use FI-CA for issuing checks to our customers. We are also planning to have EBS.
    Based on my searching here is what I have found about how to make FI-CA checks and EBS work.
    1. Enhance Event 0061 in FICA so the recon key for check run posts entries (documents) at an individual check level into FICO with all the details like the check number,
    2. Enhance event FEB00001 so the R/3 FICO document can be cleared based on the EBS entries.
    Now my two questions are
    a). If the above two steps are done, will the status of the check in the FPCHR automatically get updated from open to cleared? Just like how FPB12 program in ISU does?  Will the encashment date etc get updated?
    b). Are the above two steps still relevant since SAP seems to have made significant changes to EBS since 2008.
    As always Thanks in Advance for spending your valuable time to answer.

  • Iview look and feel

    Hi Team,
    Please suggest.
    Iview look and feel is different in consumer and producer. It is working fine in normal portal but in central portal the iview content is not looking good(table details are not clear , looks like merged on one on one and graphics are also not good)
    Please suggest.
    Images attached.
    Thanks,
    Sankar.

    Thanks Mahendran.
    I have checked that. Those have Different versions both in producer and consumer.
    It is 7.11.7.32.0.
    But in central portal  it is 7.0.17.1.0.
    What exactly this UR version is for please ?
    How this is effected only Iviews ?
    after seeing the screenshots attached,
    1) Is it because of Themes ? If yes, how to check that what themes are applied in producer and consumer
    2) Will it happen only for particular iviews ? Is there any case like that ?
    Recently system refresh happened for ECC system.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks,
    Sankar

  • Photos looking out of focus after I save them.

        My photos look great after my layers and saving, but when I try to upload them online, email, or print they don't look the same.Kind of out of focus/blurry.  I've tried for hours and can't seem to figure out why this is happening. Please, if you know, help is needed!!

    I just realized they are also not as clear looking
    Is the profile embedded and do the programs you use to display the uploaded images use color management?
    As for the blurriness: That sounds like some (automatic) resampling may have taken place.

  • What Exactly Is Meant By "The Film Look"?

    I have been puzzled by this expression for the past few years.
    What IS a "Film Look"?
    I started with cine (Super 8) exactly 30 years ago, so my thoughts whenever a "film look" is mentioned dwell on jerky movement, dull images, grain and scratches!
    I am sure this is NOT what is meant - please tell me it isn't!
    Is it connected with sharper images, purer colours and smoother movement obtainable with which - DV or film?
    Ian.

    I wonder if the very coy Mr Brown is trying to get to this point:
    People who buy a consumer video camera who instantly expect their movie to look like Star Wars are struggling in vein. Inexpensive video gear allows people to express their creativity, not to get into the commercial film market. You cant compare low, or even medium level video to high end film
    A professional videographer, who shot music videos for people like Leonard Cohen on video at a time where most high end music "videos" were still be shot on film explained it to me this way: He saw the essential difference as being one of gamma, of the ranger of light and shadow. See a movie shot in 35 mm black and white and compare that to a high end video in black and white ... you will see what the difference is
    That being said, this camera man thought it was silly to try to use video to emulate motion picture film. He liked the use of video and with his exquisite lighting and use of filters, he created work so good looking you wanted to eat it.
    Most people, I think, make movies with video because it is much cheaper and more accessible than film ... they have no idea what the video really is .. they watch Star Wars on their home TV and go .. well, thats what I want.
    I have worked in the pro video world for 20 years, everything from local TV commericials to corporate video to weddings... my gear has ranged from 500 buck cameras to 15,000 cams ... and I have never tried to acheived the "film" look. My work is all about communication and video, with its clean, clear look and quick turnaround time, gives me that. I dont make "movies" nor do I have a desire to.
    Friend of mine currently makes music videos with one of the Panny high end cameras, doing everything in 24p. No denying, it looks great. Is it "film" look?
