Clear Metadata Cache

I had an error that I have listed below and had to clear the metadata cache to fix it. I do not have the metadata cache activated under user option so I am not sure why I had to clear the cache to get things working. Can someone explain why I had to do this and where the metadata cache is located?

There is no other possibility. If you adjusted and reimported a RFC model, you need to restart the J2EE server.

Gateway OData Metadata Cache

Hello,
we're just about planning for our new OData Service. As we have a scenario where we generate structures to be used in our OData services we cannot make sure that the structures in the different clients are idetical as we will have additional customizing for this. In our use case that would mean that depending in which client the OData service is called the meta data could also be different. Entities and Entity Sets will be exactly the same as I use the same OData Service.
When I was testing the caching meachanism I got also confused with browser cache and the backend cache. Maybe you also made your experience and can provide me more details if I call the same service in different clients if we always access the same meta data...???
The informatio I got in SAP Help does not say anything regarding this:

What I feel that you can not have different metadata for the same service in different client.
At runtime you can not change the metadata based on different clients. OData is a kind of extension on top of Atom Pub and Atom, with the additional feature of data description which is metadata in this case.
In Gateway Cache can be addressed/affected by ...
1. You can clear the cache in Gateway HUB using transaction /IWFND/CACHE_CLEANUP
2.You can clear the cache in Backend using transaction /IWBEP/CACHE_CLEANUP
3. You can deactivate caching from SPRO -->Gateway -->OData Channel -->Administration -->Cache Setting -> Metadata .. Also you will find some more options for Cache here
4. Moreover Cache is one of the constraints of REST design which says something like
Cache constraints require that the data within a response to a request be implicitly or explicitly labeled as cacheable or non-cacheable. If a response is cacheable, then a client cache is given the right to reuse that response data for later, equivalent requests.
Now you can set no cache for the data (response) using following code in your DPC_EXT
* Prevent persistent caching on client
DATA: ls_header TYPE ihttpnvp.
ls_header-name = 'Cache-Control' ##NO_TEXT.
ls_header-value = 'no-cache, no-store' ##NO_TEXT.
set_header( ls_header ). //Or suitable method from DPC_EXT

Delete "Metadata Caches" off boot drive?

So i have a few large projects going and they seem to be accumulating a large amount of "metadata cache" files--6gb in total. As i am running a solid state drive as my boot drive, this is relatively a large portion of my drive. I would like to clear these files but after searching around google and this forum, i am unsure as to what it will do...
I am currently running CS5 on a Mac Pro with OS X 10.6.8

These files are actually managed by Adobe Media Encoder. You can manage their location as follows:
Open Media Encoder
To open the Preferences dialog box, choose Edit > Preferences (Windows) or Adobe Media Encoder > Preferences (Mac OS).
In the MEDIA preferences you'll see the location of "Media Cache Files"
You can click browse and select the new location.

I'm trying to get a blog module going, I've even deleted the html insert bog with the tag in and re-published which then I don't get the error but as a result no blog either. But then I add the tag in again and publish the error comes back. I've used the dev console and it says that my musicians sample.css is out of date but why is it only out of date when I add in html to my muse site?
HELP!!!! I've searched other threads and to no avail I'm publishing so no direct ftp going on. the only thing I changed in business catalyst was the module stylesheet in order to style the blog. I've tried uploading and replacing all files nothing seems to work. the site is here:

Your first statement explains the second statement. To use the German iTunes Store, you need to prove that you're a resident of Germany (that is required by the content owners who will not allow cross-border sales) and the only way Apple can provide such a verification is by requiring that you enter in either a German credit card or a German-purchased iTunes prepaid card. Since I presume the former is not a possibility, you'll need to do the latter if you wish to purchase content from the iTunes Store. Again, this is not Apple's choice but is forced on them by the content owners as a requirement for Apple being allowed to sell the content. The EU is working on regulations that would force the content owners to allow access pan-EU, but that's still in the works.
You do not need an iTunes Store account to activate and run your iPad, though; at least, I didn't need one for either of my two iPads. If you only want to set up an account so you can get free iPad apps, take a look here:

Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is apparently critical. This seems to come and go, or only apply to App Stores in specific countries, so you may not see the option for "None" when asked for a payment type.

When I click "Clear now" to clear the cache, nothing happens, no acknowlegement the the cache is cleared, and I need to know whether the function is working.

login problem at an arts forum... login works at other sites.
I can't log in. They gave me a new password and were able to log in with it, doesn't work for me. They suggested clearing cache.
I removed a cookie from that site, and tried to clear the cache, but suspect I was unsuccessful. When I go to the login, after attempting to clear the cache and removing cookie, the login form is immediately filled in with a password, which could be the old one or the new one, they are unfortunately the same number of letters.

As a quick test for cookie or cache problems you can try to switch Private Browsing mode on to see if that allows to log in.
You can either use Tools > Start Private Browsing or set a check mark in:
* Tools > Options > Privacy: [ ] "Automatically start Firefox in a private browsing session"
To see all the History and Cookie settings, select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"<br />
Do not forget to exit Private Browsing mode after you have finished the login test.

It's possible that the pages you are attempting to open simply won't work with that old web browser.
If you're using Mac OS X Tiger, update to the latest version, which is 10.4.11. (You might be using that already. Your profile says you're running 10.4.1, but I bet that's just a typo.)
Then get the latest version of Safari that will run on Tiger. (And... you have that already: 4.1.3.)
You might try a more modern browser designed specifically for your current OS. That would be TenFourFox.

How to clear the cache in the portal browser

Hello Experts,
Iam unable to clear the cache in the portal. I tried clearing the Navigation cache , PRT cache,PCD cache,Database cache,UME cache.
The senario is in the browser if iam logging with some user X , he should see only 1,2,3 countries, and if i logg off and again logg in the same browser with different user he is seeing same 1,2,3 countries unlike he should see 4,5 countries.
But if iam opening in different browser iam getting the correct one with cache cleared.
I want to acheive this in the same browser.
Qucik help in solving out this cache problem is appreciable.

There is one more important cache: the HTTP Provider Service cache (in VA).
To find out why the browser is showing the same languages, analyze what the server is sending to the browser with HTTPWatch or Firebug and look at the cache flag. Also check what is the iView cache parameter? Is it user, session, shared or none?
How do you do the logoff? The best thing is to make sure that the HTTP Session is killed. If not, the portal may send data that is cached for the HTTP Session to the browser. When you open a new browser, you will also open a new HTTP Session. That could be the cause why it is working with a new browser instance.

How do I clear the cache in Safari 8.0? I am running Yosemite ios 10.10.1 on a Macbook Pro.

Empty Caches
1. Safari > Preference > Advanced
    Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
    "Develop" menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
    Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
2. Quit Safari if open.
    Option click the "Go" menu in the Finder menu bar.
    Select "Library" and then "Caches".
    Look for the folder 'com.apple.Safari"
    Right click "com.apple.Safari" and select "Move to Trash"
    Relaunch Safari.

.XMP files no longer appear as sidecars--how to clear metadata?

Photoshop CS2 ver 9.0.2
Bridge ver 1.0.4.6
ACR ver 3.7
eMac G4 800 MHz
Mac OS X ver 10.4.9
1 Meg RAM
12 GB available disk space
Bridge and Photoshop are set to save metadata in .XMP sidecar files, but sidecar files no longer appear. That is, up till a few days ago, .XMP files appeared when I opened raw files, but no longer. The drop-down menu is still set to save metadata in sidecar files.
Cannot clear metadata in Bridge. I can select "Camera Raw Defaults" in ACR, but that doesn't clear cropping.
1) How do I return already-stored metadata to .XMP files?
2) How do I get PSCS2 to store future metadata as .XMP files?
3) How do I clear metadata currently stored in ACR/PS database?
4) What did I do to cause system to store metadata in ACR/PS database despite being set to save in sidecar files?

Excellent point. I have no idea. Maybe this was only working for
.PSDs/etc. (which contain the metadata embedded in the file itself[,
right?]). I may have been deluding myself this whole time. It's
possible that it never really worked the way I thought it did to begin with.
But, more specifically, here's the current question: If I have this
file (which is a backup from long ago):
J:\backup of M90\Documents and Settings\philipt\Application
Data\Adobe\CameraRaw\Database
...assuming that drives are currently mapped (by drive letter) the same
way they were when that backup was made), can I just replace the current
file:
C\Documents and Settings\philipt\Application Data\Adobe\CameraRaw\Database
...with the one from J: and expect it to work correctly?
What's the worst that can happen if I do this?
BTW, the file on J: is 2,569 Kb; the (new) one on C: is 2,754 Kb. This
doesn't seem to bode well, since the old one (J:) should have much, much
more data in it (assuming that the "Database" file per se is where the
metadata is stored): the older file has complex,
multi-tiered data for 10s of 1000s of images. "??"

EPMA 11.1.2.1 batch client LOADID, Full Deploy, Clear MetaData missing

Looks like EPMA batch client in 11.1.2.1 does not have any mention of some of the options available through workspace. Options like LOADID, Fully Deploy and Clear Metadata are no where to be found.
Has anyone found work arounds for these? Kindly share your thoughts.

First log an enhancement ticket with Oracle.
Your next move is to find someone that can hack the Java code and perform non-Oracle approved customizations -- in my experience this can be as easy as four hours of research and work or could take quite a bit longer -- then you have to ask if you are paying for this work is it worth a few thousand dollars of time if you don't have these skills in your company to leverage and also if you ever do patching the customization needs to be remade and may not be as easy as the first time.

Can't seem to clear Flash cache in Firefox 4 on Windows 7 (64-bit)

When updating my work's webpage, I cannot seem to get a certain flash component to update. It works fine in IE so I know that it's not on the server's side. I have tried clearing all cache and even private browsing. Nothing I do will cause Firefox to show the updated information. Is there any other way to clear the flash cache other than using Firefox's Clear Recent history feature?

The first version listed is the version I have BUT it appears to me that the first listed applies to Windows7 32 bit. I have 64 bit and that number is off the wall. Also, I was looking for Broadcom since that's the driver I have. Somehow you were able to recognize the driver. I made a restore point and removed Ready Comm and it worked out okay. I would hope sometime in the future Lenovo would identify their drivers so that people who aren't familiar with all of this can recognize what they need. I think you're probably right that that is the driver I have. Thank you again.

If the issue does not appear to be related to preferences, a login item, or a kext file, and still persists in Safe Mode, there may be an issue with a cache file in your home folder:
1. From the Finder's Go menu, choose Home.

3. Drag the Caches folder to the desktop.

5. If issue is resolved, drag the Caches folder to the Trash.

I have the latest version of Firefox. How do I clear my personal info and then clear the cache?

I have the latest version of Firefox. It is: Firefox/3.6.13 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729).
I got a page that said I needed to clear my personal information, then clear my cache. It said I could do that in the "tools" menu. The "tools" menu has no such option.

Thats' all well and good, but FIREFOX crashes when I click on those links. I'm not doing it again. Heck with it.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It makes no changes to your data.
Please triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
