Clear Outlook 2010 Auto Complete Cache on many desktops

How do I clear the Outlook 2010 Auto Complete on the 1000 desktops in my organization using a script or group policy or any other method? The only method I can find is a manual one that does one desktop at a time and is not feasible for our 1000 desktops.

Hi,
Auto Complete Cache is the feature in Outlook, I recommend post this problem on
Outlook Forum.
By the way, I searched around and found the following thread.

Take a look at it and hope this will be helpful for you.

  • Exchange Server 2013 / Outlook 2010 Auto-Complete address problems

    Hi
    We run an Exchange 2013 environment where end users use Outlook 2010.
    For some reason several users (at least 5 so far, maybe more that haven't noticed yet) are complaining that they are now unable to add any additional address to the Auto-Complete cache.  This can be resolved manually by emptying the cache from within
    Outlook then disabling and re-enabling auto-complete but obviously they then have a blank slate.
    My question is - is there anything that can cause this type of problem collectively?  I have seen it previously, but occurrences have always been isolated to an individual user.
    Thanks in advance
    M

    Hello,
    You can try use NK2View tool to modify your Outlook Auto Complete Addresses.
    With NK2View you can delete unwanted email addresses from your autocomplete file and add new addresses from your address book as well as edit current email address entries. And NK2View is a free download from NirSoft and you can get the software by going
    to their website.
    Besides, the auto-complete cache is a outlook feature, I recommend you post your issue to outlook forum.

  • Exchange 2013 Issue: Outlook 2010 auto populating the From Tab when forwarding email

    Exchange 2013 Issue: Outlook 2010 auto populating the From Tab when forwarding email
    I am running Exchange 2013 and I have an end user who connects to it via Outlook 2010. All was going well till he went to forward an email and he noticed that the From button appeared and auto populated the sender's email address.
    I have clicked the Empty Auto Complete List in Outlook's Send messages... still displayed the From tab when forwarding.
    I recreated the profile in outlook... same thing.
    I created the profile with outlook 2013... same thing.
    There is only one user profile setup in Outlook.
    (I know the from tab usually appears when you have multiple profiles setup in Outlook and/or when you configure the "From" tab.)
    I opened the end user's email in Exch 2013's OWA... what was different here was when I clicked on the email and it opened, it did NOT have the Reply or Forward option... and it displayed as a "Draft" email.
    Does anyone have any ideas?

    So are you saying that the from button is filling the option with the original senders address (eg the person who sent the message to your user), or that it's filling in the your users address (in which case I don't understand what the issue is, since
    it IS going from your user)?

  • Populating Outlook 2013 auto-complete addresses via PowerShell

    Hello,
    I would like to use PowerShell to add auto-complete e-mail addressees to Microsoft Office Outlook
    2013. My understanding is that since Outlook 2010 was released, the NK2 file has been retired in favor of integrating the auto-complete addresses with the PST file (see link below). With that in mind, how can I manipulate the PST file to accommodate
    the auto-completion? Is there any documentation on the PST file structure that would allow me to inject this information into an existing PST? If a user has multiple PST files, how do you know which one contains the auto-complete entries — are they aggregated?

    "The NK2 file has been retired in favor of integrating the auto-complete addresses with the PST file"
    - I think this discription is not exactly.
    In fact, Outlook 2010/2013 reads the autocomplete stream
    from a message in the Associated Contents table of the Inbox of the mail account’s delivery store. (In another word, it is stored in mailbox site but is not on local). This
    hidden message has a message class and subject of IPM.Configuration.Autocomplete. The autocomplete stream is stored on this message in the PR_ROAMING_BINARYSTREAM property (PidTagRoamingBinary
    Canonical Property).
    Go back to your quesion, the autocomplete data, whatever belongs which mail account’s delivery store, is temporarily cached in an autocomplete .dat file located in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\RoamCache.

  • Outlook 2010 Auto Config doesnt tick the "use outgoing mail server auth" settings

    Hi Guys
    I've got a domain here and an auto-config setup for Outlook whereby it goes to a website on the domain controller and downloads an xml looking like this:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8' ?>
    <Autodiscover xmlns='http://schemas.microsoft.com/exchange/autodiscover/responseschema/2006'>
    <Response xmlns='http://schemas.microsoft.com/exchange/autodiscover/outlook/responseschema/2006a'>

    <DisplayName>User Name</DisplayName>
    </User>
    <Account>
    <AccountType>email</AccountType>
    <Action>settings</Action>
    <Protocol>
    <Type>IMAP</Type>
    <Server>mail.host.com</Server>

    <SMTPLast>on</SMTPLast>
    </Protocol>
    </Account>
    </Response>
    </Autodiscover>
    As can be seen, we use IMAP here rather than exchange
    Now, when I go to set up an account, outlook DOES configure most things presented in this XML, but there seems to be a bug in that while it knows and enables "My outgoing server(SMTP) requires authentication" checkbox, it DOESN'T then enable the relevant
    radio button that one would assume <UsePOPAuth> (== use the same settings as my incoming server) intends.. No radio button is checked, which means that mails do NOT send :/
    Here's a pic:
    So, alas, my auto-setup still requires the depeest level of manual interaction to set it up.. i.e. it's fairly useless. I'd say for sure this is a bug in outlook's auto config, but how to report it to microsoft?

    Hello,
    Thank you for your report. I am trying to involve someone familiar with this topic to further look at this issue.

  • How can I clear the stored auto-complete e-mail addresses in Thunderbird, without clearing everything?

    In the auto-complete of e-mail addresses, old invalid addresses keep appearing in this list that are not in any address book (any more).
    How can I delete one from the list, or perhaps all?
    (Thunderbird v31, Dutch)

    The only place that Thunderbird gets suggested addresses is from your address books. I have seen some not show up in the books because some key info was never stored when the contact was saved.
    Sometimes you can start a new message and when the bad contact shows up select it. Create the message and save it to drafts. Then you can go to the Draft folder open the draft message by right clicking and select Open Message in Tab. Then click the star to the right of the contact and it will open the contact edit button. From there you can delete the contact.
    This does not always work though.

  • Using new computer, existing mailbox user Outlook 2010 Auto-configuration points to the Mailbox Server rather than CAS Array ?

    People,
    I'm having a problem with the current AD user account & mailbox user where they cannot get the Outlook 2010 automatically configured to point into the CAS array ?
    This is happening when the existing user get new computer replaced or login to the Terminal Server where their account never set before, it always points to the Mailbox Server instead of the Client Access Server array virtual name.
    The work around that I provided is typing the Client Access Array address and then specify Outlook.domain.com to match the Windows NLB name (and Get-ClientAccessArray result).
    Single AD Domain forest
    AD Site DataCenter contains:
    Domain Controllers: PRODDC01-VM, PRODDC02-VM, PRODDC03-VM
    Exchange Server 2010 SP3 - CAS&HT: PRODMAIL01-VM and PRODMAIL01-VM (Configured with WNLB as outlook.domain.com)
    Exchange Server 2010 SP3 - Mailbox: PRODMAILBOX01-VM and PRODMAILBOX01-VM (no DAG is set)
    Terminal Server (RDSH 2008 R2): PRODTS01-VM ... PRODTS60-VM (when user logged in to new TS, it got the same error).
    AD Site HQ contains - This site has no issue:
    Domain Controllers: HQDC01 and HQDC02
    Workstations using Outlook 2010 and 2013
    AD Site SiteOffice1 contains - This site has problem:
    Domain Controllers: none but the majority of the workstations LOGONSERVER is pointing to PRODDC03-VM
    Workstations using Outlook 2010 and 2013
    All of the Exchange environment here is using Exchange Server 2010 SP3 for all server roles.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    Yes, the RPCClientAccessServer should point to the CAS array. What's more, I would like to clarify the following things:
    1. Run the Get-ClientAccessServer | fl AutoDiscoverServiceInternalUri cmdlet to make sure that it displays the correct Uri.
    2. Run the Get-WebServicesVirtualDirectory | fl Identity,*auth*,*URL to ensure that URL for EWS points to the CAS array.
    Hope this can be helpful to you.

  • Can't sync Outlook 2010 contact pictures to Blackberry using desktop manager?

    I'm new to the forum. I have an issue with syncing my Blackberry Tour to with my Outlook 2010 through Desktop Manager 6. All the data for Calendar and Contacts syncs correctly except for the contact photos. When I sync the photo's from Outlook don't transfer over to the blackberry and If I have a photo attacked to a contact on the blackberry it get's removed. There is one exception to this and that is that Facebook photo's linked to contacts remain on the blackberry as well as Outlook. Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Hi asrjcb,

  • Outlook 2010 - User tends to open many emails at a go but this may slow down the machine.

    Hi,
    My user tends to have this work habit of opening 8-10 emails at one go. She view this way of working as more efficient and faster. But this means that if outlook crashed, all the emails will be close as well, and this way of working tends to slow down the
    machine.
    Is there any way Outlook can users to open multiple emails without hording CPU page milage?
    Thank you.

    Hi Josh,
    Slow Outlook can be also harmful for your database and there are numbers of factor which slow down the MS-Outlook like:
    * Third Party Plug-ins
    * Slow internet connection
    * Antivirus/ Firewall Programs
    * Corruption or Error within Outlook
    So always try to open Microsoft Outlook in safe mode whenever you stuck in such problems.
    How to optimize Outlook performance:
    * By Disabling add-ins
    * Check default account settings
    * Disabling Scanning programs
    * Scanpst.exe (Inbox Repair Tool)

  • How do I clear contacts from auto complete list on original iPhone?

    There are contacts on my list I no longer email. I removed them from both gmail and my phone but when I go to type a email the contacts are still there in the auto list. I have tried reseting the phone (from the phone not itunes) When I did the sync I unchecked the synch contacts box. These were suggestions found on here but they did not work for me! Please help. These are gmail contacts. Is there a way to edit/delete the contacts in the library or somewhere?
    can you tell I am not 100% MAC literate yet? A bit lost here so step by step directions is best for me.
    Thank you in advance
    Wendy

    I'm not certain removing an email account will correct the problem. It would probably have to be all email accounts.
    The only sure-fire way I've encountered is to restore the phone to factory condition, and then re-setup all the email accounts.
    OS X mail.app has a similar feature. It's really not that bad. If you are no longer using the addresses they will move to the bottom of the list. Email addresses that you use most often will float to the top. After a week or so of sending email you probably won't see the offending addresses anymore.
    So, the easiest way, is to deal with it for a few weeks as the names fall to the bottom of the autofill list.

  • Delete only 1 Auto-Complete email address for everyone's email accounts - perhaps via Exchange 2010 or Group Policy?

    Hello
    I have an exchange 2010 server and clients use outlook 2007 or 2010 for emails.
    I recently deleted an account with the Exchange 2010 server and created another with the same name but a different address.
    Now people can't send mail to this new email address because it's cached on their outlook profiles... but it does work after they cleared the cache and send their requests then.
    Is there a way that I can clear this one email address from everyone's cached auto-complete list on exhcange or via Group Policy so that it works for all of them? I don't want to clear all of their auto-complete lists.
    Thanks,

    As far as I know, there isn't any way to clear only one auto-complete cache from Exchange side or Group policy.
    Thanks,

  • FYI: Confirmed flaw with Outlook Auto-Complete lists w/Exchange Online

    Ever since our organization migrated to Exchange Online we noticed a flaw with how Outlook's Auto Complete list (nickname cache) operates.  We've finally gotten a confirmation from Microsoft that the following is indeed a problem:
    Each entry in a user's local Outlook auto-complete cache is represented by an LDAP distinguished name.
    When Exchange is hosted on-premises these entries pretty much never change.
    When your organization is hosted on Exchange Online, the distinguished names for your mailboxes can change without notice due to maintenance processes (Microsoft's engineers have confirmed this to be true).
    There are other ways that a mailbox's distinguished name can change (re-creating a mailbox, etc.)
    Outlook's local auto-complete cache has no way (currently) to reconcile changes should any of its entries' distinguished names change in the cloud.
    When the entries in the local auto-complete cache become "stale" the following may happen:
    Emails to affected recipients can bounce back.
    Emails to distribution groups containing members which have stale auto-complete entries can bounce back.
    On occasion no NDR is even generated (BIG PROBLEM).
    As noted above, we've gotten Microsoft to admit that this is indeed a problem with Outlook when combined with Exchange Online. I was told that the Outlook product team has been notified of this problem.  However, in order to escalate this issue I was
    asked to spread the word to other customers so they can also chime in if they've been affected.
    Please supply your feedback to Microsoft and ask that Outlook be enhanced to either reconcile the local auto-complete list with the online GAL, or provide some sort of notification to the user that an auto-complete entry has become "stale" or invalid.
    Thanks for everyone's time!

    Hi,
    There is nothing called as Outlook's local nick-name cache. This resides on the mailbox and not outlook and supports only 1000 entries only. If the entries exceeds 1000 it will not function correctly.
    After the .nk2 file has been imported into your mailbox, Outlook writes a value into a hidden message in your mailbox.
    To locate this property in MFCMAPI, open the
    Associated Contents table of the Contacts folder. Then, select the message with
    Subject = IPM.Configuration.ContactPrefs.
    Then, double-click the PR_ROAMING_DICTIONARY property to see the configuration setting nickname cache import. The value to examine is
    pImportedContactNickNames (True = the import has already occurred).
    Since you are facing issues at this point of time, it needs to be corrected. I would appreciate if you can open phone support case with O 365 team and ask them to escalate to Exchange Level , we should be able to work with
    you and correct the issue
    Hope this helps
    Thanks

  • AD: Auto Archive Outlook 2010 GPO

    Hello,
    I am currently testing Auto Archiving in Outlook 2010 via GPO but am having a little trouble with it. I copied the ADMX files to the DC and the workstation I am testing it from. I was able to get the policy applied and everything seems to be working. However,
