Clear Phone Memory

I am using Nokia 3230 and memory size shows only 600 kb of space is available and i checked my phone memory. May be about 700 kb is being used and i want to find out how the rest of the space are being used and procedure to delete those.

Please see page 130 of the manual which you can find here :
http://nds1.nokia.com/phones/files/guides/Nokia_3230_UG_en.pdf
Essentially you goto Menu->Tools->File Manager->Options Memory Details
If you have a memory card you will also be able to view memory usage on your phone as well.
Hope this helps.

    Hello,
I too am a Nokia Lumia 720 user. I went to the 'Storage Check' section, and checked the breakup of the memory usage, which showed 808MB temp files stored. I clicked on 'Clear' and now it shows 727MB of temp files stored. I tried clicking on the clear button multiple number of time, but it just doesn't clear those files. It's stuck on 727MB. Kindly help me with this predicament. Thanks a lot.
Not all the files in "Other" storage are unnecessary/unneeded/temporary files. There may be system files, mail attachments, app specific files and if the Clear button cannot clear all of them, that means they are used in some way.
"Other" files are the files which cannot be classified as Music/Video/Photo/Document, but that doesn't mean they are unused files.
If your "Other"  usage increases dramatically, especially after installing a specific app, then it's time to worry. But in normal usage conditions, 1-1.5 GB is OK for "Other" storage

  • Delete file from NOKIA C5-03 phone memory

I still face a problem that when I buy mobile then phone memory was 40MB, but now it reduced to 30MB. I try to browse and remove unwanted file from phone memory. But nothing gonna happen.  I also use pc suite, mass storage etc, but can't. What can I do now?

Try clearing browser cache and your messages from inbox. Try installing ET optimizer or netqin mobile guard. They both can be used to remove trash files.

Ive deleted contacts from my contacts list but they still pop up when i go to text and type in the name of a current contact. .  How can i delete them off my phones memory for good? iPhone 4S

At the present time, the only way to clear that is to restore the phone as new.  Perhaps a future iOS update will give us the option to clear that cache.

  • I deleted all my photos and videos and then delete the deleted files but the photo app is still taking up 12 GB of space and I have no room for new stuff.  How can I clear the memory space used by my deleted videos and photos?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

  • N97 Phone Memory full?

I have had my phone since Saturday, so not long at all, and already Im getting constant errors to say the phone memory is full.  I have about 400k free.
I have now changed my msg location to save to the Mass storage and deleted all previous messages from phone memory, and cleared the web cache.  I have installed around 5 apps i think, like a game, the photo browser updated ovi maps and a twitter app.
If you go into the File manager on the phone and goto Options--->Details---Memory while viewing the phone memory i get this break down:
    73MB Memory in use
    456kb Free Memory
    411B Calendar
    23KB Contacts
    10KB Message
    0B Images
    0B Sound Files
    1840KB Video Clips
    31KB Documents
    6650KB MIDP apps
    8923KB SIS applications
    56MB Other Files
Can anyone explain what could be using all this extra memory and how to resolve this??
    Cheers

no secrets i just try to avoid junk on my phone and all junk that i need i store on e memory unless i have no choice as in boingo, jaiku and qip apps that unfortunately came with this bloody phone. just like i am religious about rebooting my phone at least weekly, but with n97 is more like daily. i am religious with ram management and disable everything i don't need.
There are some things you can do to manage the C memory better/phone memory.
    1. Clear your browser cache often
    2. set different message allocation ( if you have not done so already)
messaging- options- settings- other ( set it to 999, and e memory)
    3. Go to OVI store (app on your phone) and change that memory allocation for most apps.
    opitons- account- settings- installation preferences
    4. Remove Facebook, Accu Weather, Bloomberg, apps from the C drivve and reinstall them via OVI store and place them in the E memory/mass memory
NOTE: If you are using Nokia Messaging application, it can only store data on the C drive so keep that in mind
NOTE: RAM is another issue with N97. Don't keep too many apps running at the same time as it will run out of RAM and either close all applications on the spot or crash the phone and result in restart.
BETTER RAM management : Here are some things to consider
also consider investing in the best taskman 1.99$ in the ovi store or y browser (free) to manage your ram and all the apps that are runnig on the phone that you might want to close if you are not using them.
    http://www.drjukka.com/YBrowser.html
now y browser is free, it has a great amount of stuff you can do with it, but it is not as easy to use as best taskman and it does not look so pretty- that is if you care about looks over function.
i practice what i preach and manage to have my phone up and running rather well. i have no major issues and on v12 it is actually a fairly stable phone that is until you install some apps that make your phone go bunkers once again.

  • Images Corrupted after Moving from Phone Memory to SD Card

Hi, I have a Sony Xperia Z3 16GB version and Recently I had been to a hiking trip and had used my Xperia Z3 on the trip extensively for photos and vidoes. I have taken as much as 600 photos and few videos of size 2.9 GB. Since the phone memory was getting full, i moved the images, videos using the "Move Files to SD Card" option found under "Settings --> Storage". The Transfer finished successfully and the phone memory was relieved. Now after this transfer, i can't open any images moved to SD card. They all were moved to "DCIM --> 100ANDRO" folder.  The photos seem to be corrupted. ALL OF THEM   This is such a mess and I tried a few tools for recovering the images. They didn't help me any. Can anyone of you have any suggestions on how to recover these photos?  These are memories from a Trip which I can do only once in life time  Please help.  Note: The jpeg image properties show up the File Size clearly which means that the content is still there but somehow corrupted

You could try a check disk - So with the card connected open a command prompt then type the drive letter of the card then : so for example K: then hit enter - Then type chkdsk /f then hit enter - When finished check your cards files

  • How do I clear off memory usage from "calendar" it kept on building up

The calendar usage in my ipad kept on building up, although I don't store anything on it, how do I clear the memory usage?

When you connect your phone to the Mac, iPhoto should fire up and offer to import your photos. So do so, selectively if needed. Then make sure they are backed up to external media in case your Mac dies. Then delete them from the camera roll in the iPhone.
Read how Sync works. The User Guide is available at http://support.apple.com/manuals/ or downloadable from iTunes as an iBook.

  • OMG, my N86 phone memory only left 5.6mb!!!

what will happen if my phone memory become 0?
    what can i do now?

Hmm, I guess you can always hard reset your phone. Do you have some music/videos on C drive? Some other app that using C drive for cache? That is quite low.

  • C6-01 How to free Phone memory

I've installed a new theme (around 2MB after installation) to my Nokia C6-01 from the OVI store (to phone memory) and later uninstalled it from the app manager through phone, but when I go look at the memory, it says that my phone memmory is still 2mb occupied. I haven't installed any other app to the phone.....
Is there any  other place that I need to delete the installation files?
P: I installed the theme via OVI suite

Thank you for your reply jimmyireland. I will try that out to clear up my memory.
But as for the last part of my question, is there any place that a Theme installed from OVI suite remain in Phone memory? (I'm asking this because I've seen my phone memory drop even after I've uninstalled it)

  • How to refresh Phone memory thoroughly?

    Hi guys,
I'm using Nokia6300. It has internal phone memory of 7.8MB. But in MEMORY STATUS shown as below:
    Free Memory 710KB
    Gallery 1.1MB
    Messaging 374KB
    Applications 369KB
    Bookmarks 2.0KB
Total used memory only 1.9MB, Could anyone find the answer where the rest of the memory hidden? And how to clear or refresh it to become free memory?
    Thanks!!

Is your handset branded? (i.e. Vodafone, 3, Orange, etc.) It could be that some service provider customized software is eating up the space.
If not, then you probably have some temporary files on there (especially previewed themes) which are occupying memory. Try downloading MobiMB for 6300 and use it to browse for hidden files and folders on your phone and remove them. Be cautious in removing files, however, so you don't run into bigger problems. =)

  • Nokia 5800 - phone memory always full

got my phone yesterday from prepay mania, i hav an 8gb memory card in it btw, whenever i go to the menu i get messages saying c: phone memory full, please delete some data. sometimes it doesnt let me access particular features such as "settings" and even returns me to my home screen
my question was how do i move all my future downloads and all the stuff on my phone memory to my memory card, so i wont get these messages coming up all the time
Message Edited by roshan93 on 08-Jul-2009 08:57 AM

if you have installed applications, uninstall them and reinstall them but this time choose the memory card as your main destination (the application should ask where do you want to install it). Also, if you have configured an email account, make sure you choose the memory card to store your emails (go to the messaging/email application, select options - settings - other and where it says memory in use select E: Memory Card (instead of phone memory). Finally, if you have been using the Web application, go to options - clear privacy data (select cache and cookies).
If none of these options solve your problem, then do a hard reset (after backing up the phone, of course)
    Hope it helps..

You will just have to clean your internal memory. Just give a try to factory reset by *#7780* as said by previous poster or you would have to soft reset your phone by *#7370*. Maybe some kind of corrupted files are those. Transferring files through bluetooth is always a messy thing!
