Clear plastic cover is a mess

My clear plastic cover on my iPad is a mess.  Bubbles, won't lay smooth.  How do I correct this?

Hi Bsandrick,
I am going to assume that you are applying a screen protector on the display of the iPad.
One good way to do it is to use a piece of sticky tape to lift up the screen protector from the display and use a second piece of tape to dab and remove the dust, sand ect.
When lifting up the plastic screen protector, do not pull it all the way back as this could cause it to misalign.
Best of Luck

  • Ipad Mini clear plastic sleeve from original packaging

For the love of God, I have scouring Ebay/Amazon/WalMart and every other website I could think of. All I want to buy is the original clear plastic sleeve that came in the Ipad Mini box. I don't want a smart case, or a smart cover, or some screen protector. I'm really frustrated! Please tell me where I can buy these?! Thanks for your time (and I genuinely mean that)!!

have skins for both back and front. Or you can simply have a clear plastic back cover. You can get those at amazon for not much money.

  • Dust under the plastic cover (XPERIA Z1)

Hi, just got the Xperia Z1 I applied immediately Cover of Plastic, supplied in the box with Sony. I made sure to remove all the dust, but as I see it has been a while, and I only noticed after applying the cover.
Now my question is: Can I Remove the Plastic Cover provided by Sony?
    Void the Warranty?
    How can I fix?
I purchased the Smartphone Z1 from Amazon.co.uk, but I'm living in Italy. There is a safe way to proceed in these cases? The Sony logo on the front will come off if I remove the plastic cover?
The problem is quite annoying when I read in the sun or in the evening in browser with white background.
    I am attaching explanatory photos.

Salvo.. simple question.. you said you put on a cover of plastic i.e. a screen protector on top of the screen. Now if there is dust under this screen protector and you remove it then you do not void your warranty... however, if you didnt apply something new and the dust is indeed under the original protector with the sony logo (I dont think this is easy to achieve anywy) then removing the screen protector with the sony logo will void your warranty.
Its rather simple if you have put on an additional screen protector like you said... If so just peel it off....

  • Is there a clear plastic case for the 160 GB?

I've been trying to find one of those iSee Clear plastic cases that will fit the 160 GB but have been unable to find one. Does anyone know if they're out there, and if so, where I can get it?

AFAIK, the iPod 160GB has the same form factor as the iPod Video 80GB (5.5G), so look for accessories designed for that one. I just got a 160GB Classic and the silicone case from my 80GB 5.5G fit exactly the same.

  • Wireless Keyboard (white keys / clear plastic base)

I've acquired a wireless keyboard (the version with the clear plastic frame), and would like to use it with last year's MacBook Pro (running Mac OS 10.6.3). Unfortunately, I don't have the original software CD, and I'm having trouble finding the software here on the Apple site. Anyone have any suggestions on where to find the software? Or, can anyone tell me if that old wireless keyboard will work at all with the new systems? Thanks!

Which exact model keyboard? Is there an Apple model number on the bottom?
I don't have experience with wireless keyboards but generally such items do not require driver installations but just configuration using system preferences. Occasionally there are software updates such as http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/firmware_hardware/wirelesskeyboardup date20.html

  • Volume question...not about the plastic cover...

I have the plastic cover removed and it's still hard to hear people throught the earpiece...
When I first dial the number and put the phone to my ear, I hear the first ring or two and they are pretty loud...then there's a big decrease in volume on about the third ring...almost like the phone senses the volume is too loud and it turns it down automatically...WHAT IS IT DOING?
Is this normal? Anyone else notice this? If it didn't do this I think the earpiece volume would be ok... any ideas?

    Brian,
I've noticed the exact same thing with mine. I have hearing issues so I thought it was just me. Lately I've noticed it more and more though. I hope someone out there has a response.

  • Clear plastic scratch protection needed--HELP!

I need help finding out where to find the plastic sheeting that comes on an iMac when you buy it new. It's that clear semi-sticky plastic that's on the outside of the computer to protect against scratches. I accidentally took it off of a friend's computer (stupidly thinking he'd forgotten to take it off...) but he likes to keep it on, like, forever. Uh oh!
So I need to find a similar low-tack plastic sheeting and cut it, OR if anyone knows if Apple can provide the actual sticky sheets that I could just buy from them. This person apparently doesn't want a case or cover that's made for an iMac; he likes the sticky sheets that come on the computer when it comes in the box. He has an iMac G5 standing display.
I need it for the keyboard as well, though I think that's a somewhat different material! Can anyone help?? I feel really bad, and would appreciate help if anyone has it!!

That's kind of silly. An iMac just sits in one place; it's not prone to getting scratches on the screen like a laptop or iPhone. Plus the recent iMacs have a glass cover over the actual LCD surface. So the LCD is already protected by a layer of glass.
    There are anti-glare film products

  • Nano 6th Generation case and plastic cover recommendations

    Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a Ipod nano (6th Gen) case and the plastic covers that go over the glass to protect from scratching. What brands are out there? All I have seen on Apple website is the watchlike band. I prefer a protective clear case and a protective sheet over the glass. Thanks a lot Apple members.
    Macthemini

I am having huge problems synching my new Nano 6th Gen to my Mac while 2 other earlier Ipods work perfectly. My problem relates to the fact that I use smart playlists and their contents get all messed up on the new Ipod when I try synching. Symptoms include both missing songs on the Ipod and songs in artist name sequence instead of sequence on Itunes, both problems that raise questions about quality of software released for 6th gen. I went to talk to genius at Apple store and he indicated that Apple is moving away from smart playlists on Ipods and so suggested that I create dumb playlists on Itunes and copy the contents of my smart playlists to the dumb playlists and then synchronize those to the Ipod. That does work but it's a pain in the behind each time I add any songs to Itunes that get added to the smart playlists as I have to go through this whole time consuming process just to get the songs to show up on my Ipod. I also hope that Apple gets the synching problem fixed quickly.

  • I'm finding Ios7 exceeding frustrating having to spend hours reinstalling and looking for last data. For example I cannot delete photos I have synced, applications are missing. Where can I get clear instructions to fix the mess?

Where can I get clear instructions to clean up a mess that Ios7 has made of my data and info on my iPad. I can't delete photos, apps are missing, it's crazy and so frustrating. I have spent hours on this.

How did the photos get onto your iPad ? If they were synced from a computer then they can't be deleted directly in the iPad's Photos app - instead they are deleted by not including them in your next photo sync from your computer's iTunes.
For your apps, as long as they are still in your country's store then you should be able to redownload them via the Purchased tab in the App Store app on your iPad, and via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes. If you had backed up to your computer's iTunes before starting the update then you could redownload them to your computer's iTunes and then retry restoring to your backup and see if that copies the apps and their content back (the actual apps aren't included in a backup, just their content/settings, so for a restore to work fully you need to have the relevant apps in the Apps part of your library).

  • Broken Hinges and Plastic cover

The hinges and plastic  LCD cover had broken, how to replace it?

It would be worth asking at an Apple store!
When I had a battery replaced a year or so ago, my bottom cover was improperly replaced and appeared warped.
Without batting an eye, they offered to replace it - no charge.
I thought they were just being kind but it turns out it's a common problem on MacBooks from a certain time period (circa2010), so it is Mac's POLICY to replace them without charge when they warp!
    http://www.apple.com/support/macbook-bottomcase/
I have the same cracks appearing at the hinges (no bumps or drops, only a well-traveled and much used Mac!) but haven't asked about what obtaining a replacement shell would entail. If I do so before you, I'll reply again with what the terms / cost of replacement would be!

  • Album cover are all messed up.

I own Thousands of CD's an have spent countless hours copying them over to my computers.. I buy an iPod and notice something strange my covers are a messed up a little, so I spend the time to fix them. I by an iPhone and once again the covers are screwed up. now today I notice they are all different. My iPod my iPad and my iPhone as well as my iMac and Windows PC's this has to be an issue with the iTunes software. What happened? how do I correct this without loosing all my time again. this has also affected my music that I have purchased from the iTunes store.

    Hello there,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
Your iPod's artwork cache may have become corrupt. I would suggest clearing it out and rebuilding it. To do this:
    1. Plug the iPod in and when it appears in iTunes, click on its device name on the left pane of iTunes if necessary
    2. Under the Music tab, remove the check mark next to “include album artwork on this iPod.”
    3. Hit Apply to sync the updated changes.
    4. After it has finished syncing, place the check mark back next to “include album artwork on this iPod” option.
    5. Again, hit Apply to sync the updated changes.
    6. Lastly, properly eject your iPod, and verify that the album artwork is correct.
    Hope this helps.

  • That plastic cover on the LCD screen

What is that plastic semi-sticky cover that comes glued to the LCD screen when you first buy it's Mines starting to rip, and I really don't what to have to take it off.
Does anyone know what that sticky cover is or what kind of shop I could by it in?

I think you are talking about the shipping protector. It is really just there to keep the screen from being scratched before the product gets to you. You will find them on phones for instance and usually on any product with an lcd.

  • 11" Speck case, Clear plastic or Black satin?

Im planning on buying a Speck case, but cant deicide if the Clear Case or Black Satin case is better.
I like the clear case, due to it not taking away the MBA looks, but the black case also looks nice, with the apple logo showing though the case when its on.
Im trying to get peoples views on each case and hopefully this will help me make up my mind

I have the black satin and I like it better than the clear case.  The satin has a definite nice feel on it.  The clear case feels like a cheap plastic case.  The clear case is also easier to scratch and you can see the difference over a few weeks.
Visit your nearest (macbook) accessory store or apple store and you should be able to compare the two.
