Clear plastic scratch protection needed--HELP!
I need help finding out where to find the plastic sheeting that comes on an iMac when you buy it new. It's that clear semi-sticky plastic that's on the outside of the computer to protect against scratches. I accidentally took it off of a friend's computer (stupidly thinking he'd forgotten to take it off...) but he likes to keep it on, like, forever. Uh oh!
So I need to find a similar low-tack plastic sheeting and cut it, OR if anyone knows if Apple can provide the actual sticky sheets that I could just buy from them. This person apparently doesn't want a case or cover that's made for an iMac; he likes the sticky sheets that come on the computer when it comes in the box. He has an iMac G5 standing display.
I need it for the keyboard as well, though I think that's a somewhat different material! Can anyone help?? I feel really bad, and would appreciate help if anyone has it!!
That's kind of silly. An iMac just sits in one place; it's not prone to getting scratches on the screen like a laptop or iPhone. Plus the recent iMacs have a glass cover over the actual LCD surface. So the LCD is already protected by a layer of glass.

Newbie Starting from Scratch! Need help!

We have been working toward activating for the public our iTunesU presence. The goal was to have the site public on the iTunes Store this week, which is the week of our inauguration of our new President of the university. So, the past months have found us designing graphics, generating content, and we are at long last ready to move this project to the public.
My background is in digital imaging, and I do have experience in site work and network administration, but I'm far from a web expert, so could use all the help and hand holding possible! One other concern is that I noted that it can take 2-4 weeks for activation of the public link on iTunes, which contradicts what I've been told in the past by Apple.. I just thought that once I clicked the public button that the site was live. Since our goal is to have this working this weekend for next week's events, I'm more then a little concerned. So, any advice on this would be welcome.
We aren't starting off with courses, but just a small set of content. 3-4 video interviews about Pop Art, an Audio Interview (Robert Moog), and a lesson on Jazz Drumming. We have artworks finished, and files ready to upload. So, trying to understand a simple, yet easy way to present the material.
That is where I'm not totally understanding the site hierarchy, and the best way to approach it conceptually. Lastly, is there anyone that I can call to talk through some of these issues?

Those setting are easy to recreate, so deleting it doesn't cost you much effort.

If you don't want to sure you're not going to use AirPort you can either turn it off or use a "location" that doesn't have an AirPort connection item.
i can set what priority the iMac will conduct its seacrh for internet -- and assuming the ethernet wire is functioning -- then it will default there and only attempt a wireless connection if the ethernet cable fails for some reason
I have Ethernet first and AirPort second. Since my last reboot 99.95% of the network traffic is using the Ethernet port.

Yes. There might be some subtle considerations given that your two AirPort base stations are connected via Ethernet, although I'm sure there's more than one way to configure your equipment. There are people around with more experience with that sort of thing than I have who might be able to offer their advice. -

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

Warning this is very long code but i need help to see if I am on right trac
I have done all the following code myself and it is the buisiness layer for my application. I have tried to follow recommendations on previous posts and I would like to be told where I can clean up my code and how? This is not complete and it looks very long to me but I need help in order to be better. There are 4 button vlivks and I have not completed them all. The criteria for application is that phonebook will accept new entries if they have names surnames and phone numbers that are not longer than 10 characters for display purposes but can change this. I Just bought a second hand iPhone 4S I am having issues with the hearing during incoming and outgoing calls, I have turned the volume up and checked my settings but I still have trouble hearing the other person speak. It works if it's on speaker or if I have headphones plugged in. I need help desperately!!!!! Any suggestions on what to do???

Clear the receiver
The iPhone receiver won't work properly if it's blocked or dirty. Here's where the receiver is:
Follow these steps, testing after each:

If you have a new iPhone, remove the plastic film on the front and back of the device.
- Check the receiver opening to see if it's blocked or dirty. If necessary, clean the receiver opening with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush.
- While you're on a call, turn on speakerphone. If you still can't hear, then your network or reception could be the issue. Try calling again later or from a different location.
Restart and update
1. Restart your iPhone and test again.

Acrobat Error - need help! - Acrobat 9 Pro
When I try to open an acrobat files my it trys to Open EVERY acrobat file on my computer and does so until I get the following message
"There was an error opening this document. The maximum number of files are already open. No other files can be opened or printed until some are closed"
Then I have to force quit.
This just started happending a few months ago

I need help in figuring out how to handle a NULL Probe Response report we are getting from our WCS.
We are getting the following alert from our WCS:
1. Message: IDS 'NULL probe resp 2' Signature attack cleared on AP 'XXXAP_#2' protocol '802.11b/g' on Controller '161.201.97.8'. The Signature description is 'NULL Probe Response - No SSID element'. - Controller Name: XXX-XXXX-XX

The Signature description is 'NULL Probe Response - No SSID element', with precedence '3'. The attacker's mac address is 'ac:86:74:1e:15:5f', channel number is '5', and the number of detections is '1'. - Controller Name: XXX-XXXX-XX.
Is this something to be concerned with in terms of a potential attack, or should I ignore these types of emails?
According to a previous post here: https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/10731846/wireless-system-has-detected-possible-intrusion-attack-signature I need to modify my IDS Signature folder in the WLC. I have no idea how to modify the file itself into the format needed to prevent these intrusions. Could somebody please help me correctly enter the right format needed for this file, or correct me in my thinking. I assume I'm in the right direction but if anyone has further information that could be helpful it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.The IDS signatures are stored in a file called wlc-sig_std.sig. That file can be edited via GUI by navigating to Security > Wireless Protection Policy > Standard Signatures. The links that you shared contain links to Cisco documentation that leave out the important parts of the documentation. The only way to get that documentation is to pull the existing signatures from the WLC using Commands > Upload File. Read that file for details on the syntax, then adjust your values in the GUI. I've attached a text document with the standard signature file.

I have a bb 8100 which no register the host routing table. I do the wipe handheld and now I can not make calls. If you wiped your handled you ahve to reload the DECIVE software.
Google your carriers baclberry dowload site, find the software for your device,
Then follow this procedure:
Step #1
Before starting make sure that BlackBerry Desktop Software is installed on the computer.
Step#2
Make sure that you have installed updated device software installed in your PC. Check this link to get update device software from carrier OS download site.
Step#4
To perform a clean install of the BlackBerry Device Software, perform the following steps:
Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer and open BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
Double-click the Application Loader icon.
Click Next to start the installation process.
Type your BlackBerry smartphone password, if prompted, and click OK.
Click the check boxes next to the names of the applications you want to load, and then click Next.
Click Advanced, and then click the check box beside Erase all currently installed applications.
Click Next.
Click the check box next to Do not automatically backup the application data during the loading process.
Clear the box next to Backup and restore applications installed wirelessly.
Click Next > Finish.
When the process has completed, the message The loading operation was successful will appear. Click Close to return to BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

kcrrvslf: active RFS archival for log thread 1 sequence (sometimes i see this KCRRVSLF)

Any relation you thought you saw was pure coincidence.

In that case I would check that the CONTROL_FILE_RECORD_KEEP_TIME initialization parameter is defined to a value that is sufficiently large enough to maintain adequate log switch information to resolve archivelog gaps.
How big is that? Well, at least bigger than it is now. Beyond that, it would have to be "large enough to maintain adequate log switch information to resolve archivelog gaps" Just play with it until you get the result you want.

Try making a direct desktop icon for the Organizer and Editor and that will bypass the welcome screen and any advertising.
On Windows right click on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
Browse to Computer OS C:
And find the PSE Organizer application in Program Files or Program Files (x86) on Windows 7 - 64 bit.
Inside the Adobe >> Photoshop Elements Organizer (yellow folder) you are looking for an application file “PhotoshopEementsOrganizer” with six small icons (e.g. representing thumbnails)
Select it and click OK
Click next
Rename by taking out Photoshop Elements leaving just the word Organizer
Then click finish
You should now be able to launch directly form the desktop by double clicking on the icon.
+You can set up a similar direct link to the Editor application (.exe file which has the blue PSE icon). As before take out Photoshop Elements just leaving the description Editor and it will show up clearly on the desktop.
+You can keep the standard Photoshop icon which links to the welcome screen but I prefer to delete it from the desktop. If you ever need to get to the welcome screen you simply click Window >>Welcome on the top menu when the application is open.

The quality of photo images (mostly JPG files) in printouts is awful even though the files display beautifully on the PC screen. I am using
IrfanView software for displaying/printing. As far as I can tell, IrfanView is not the problem.
When I print the same images on a Deskjet 5150 attached to a different PC also running XP Pro and IrfanView, the quality of the printouts is at
least acceptable, Some would probably say good or very good.
It's dificult to explain in words the problem with the printouts. A picture of really pretty vegetables (squashes, tomatoes, watermelon, etc) comes
out much too red. Moreover, the red, which appears shaded on the screen, seems to be all one shade in the D110a printouts.
Something similar happens to a view of a huge tree in full leaf. On screen, there are subtle variations in the "greenness" of the leaves. In the
printout, all green is the same shade. In the same printout, the trunk of the tree is all a single shade of grey. It isn;t even obvious that the
trunk is a round, solid object.
I liken the effect to audio that disappears entirely when you lower the volume and gets clipped into square waves in even moderately loud passages.
I don't know whether the D110a driver software permits adjusting the parameters that appear to be set incorrectly, and if adjustments are possible,
how I would identify which parameters to adjust, how I would access them, or how I would adjust them. I'm hoping that someone can help. Thanks.
I forgot to mention that I have used the diagnostic application and it tells me that there are no problems.

you can't define 2 interfaces the old way (even though I saw some tricky workaround somewhere in the forums).
Use, f.e., netcfg:
Comment your old lines.
In /etc/rc.conf insert:
NETWORKS=(Eth0-dhcp Eth1-static)
DAEMONS=(..... !network @net-profiles ....)
In /etc/network.d create 2 files:
First one is named Eth0-dhcp.
Contents:
CONNECTION="ethernet"
DESCRIPTION="Whatever text"
INTERFACE=eth0
HOSTNAME="your hostname"
IP="dhcp"
DHCP_TIMEOUT=15
Second one is named Eth1-static.
Contents:
CONNECTION='ethernet'
DESCRIPTION='whatver'
INTERFACE='eth1'
HOSTNAME='hname'
IP='static'
ADDR='192.168.0.10'
GATEWAY='192.168.0.1' # your gateway IP
DNS=('192.168.0.1') # your DNS server
The names Eth0-dhcp and Eth1-static are not magic. They just must be the same in rc.conf and in /etc/network.d.
