Clear Recent list

I use acrobat reader on my iPad since Nov. 2013.
During the version updates, the "Recent" list is the most bothersome.
At first it won't show up when I need it, then it won't go away, but at least it makes sense:
If I move pdfs to cloud.arcobat.com then delete them from the cloud, the file names are cleared from the list.
But after the recent update, 'if' above do not apply any more:
The (re)moved pdf names are cleared once the upload is done locally, (the names are still there with clouded marks are tagged on the far right).
and the MOST CREEPY part is I still can open the DELETED (clouded) pdfs and pick up reading from the last time
even if I sign out/in multiple times, where are the files from??????????
BTW, in 'Recents' screen, there is not any action button on the PDF reader for iPad, how can I intentionally clear the Recent list?
Is this a bug or a feature? Why I cannot look it up on the HELP?

If you have a PDF document that is locally stored on your iPad/iPhone, it will appear in the Documents section of the File Browser in the Reader home screen.
Once you upload/save the PDF document to Acrobat.com (cloud storage), the local PDF document still appears in the Documents section, and the uploaded PDF document appears in the Acrobat.com section.  Therefore, you now have two copies of the PDF document: the one on your iPad/iPhone and the other one on Acrobat.com (cloud storage)
Even if you delete the local PDF document that appears in the Documents section, the one on Acrobat.com (cloud storage) is still intact (i.e. not deleted).
When you go to the Recents section, you will see the PDF document that is stored on Acrobat.com with the "Cloud" icon.
Because it is not the local PDF document that you have deleted, you can still access the other copy from Acrobat.com.
In the Recents section
Your PDF documents on Acrobat.com (cloud storage) are displayed with the Cloud icon.
Your local PDF documents (stored only on your iPad/iPhone) are displayed without the Cloud icon.
Please let us know if this is not the case that you have experienced.

  • How to Clear "recent" listing in new Acrobat X Pro

In new Acrobat X Pro, when I open this program a window appears listing "recent" files that I have previously opened.
I cannot clear this "recent" listing. I have deleted some of those files, and do not want them to appear in this window anymore.
I cannot find any option to clear this damn listing. Only option I found was to reduce this listing from the default 5 to 1. Zero is unavailable.
The crude way I found was to delete this registry listing:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\10.0\AVGeneral\cRecentFiles
I cannot believe that Adobe will design and release a brand new version with such poor design.
If you do know how, maybe I am blind and cannot find this elusive option, please post it here so we all can learn.
But if I am really correct and there is no option, Adobe MUST fix this oversight ASAP.
    Thank you for helping.

George, you almost have it, as my method here is more efficient:
All you need to do is save the following 2 lines as ClearAcrobatRecent.REG
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\10.0\AVGeneral\cRecentFiles]
    IMPORTANT:
Copy and paste the above 2 lines in Notepad, then save as "ClearAcrobatRecent.REG"
Note the - to the left of HKEY, which denotes "remove" from the Registry.
Then run this reg file whenever you need to clear your recent files that appear when you open Acrobat.
My method is easier and better because it does not rely on the number of "recent" files, as all will be cleared.
Of course, "cRecentFiles" entry will be deleted in the registry as well, but it will safely be recreated once you open a file in Acrobat.
Until Adobe adds this important and useful option in the next Acrobat X update this is the only practical way to clear "recent files".
    Good luck and enjoy.

  • How do I clear recents list

How do I clear the recent list

It's been requested before. Unfortunately, it's not possible in the current version.

  • How to clear the Page '09 recents list?

On Pages '09 and Mtn Lion.
A right click on the Page icon shows a list of "recent" files, none of which exist any longer. Files that are open/closed do not get added to this list, but are added to the File>Open Recent list. Clear List clears this list, but doesn't clear the icon's right-click list.
Having a functional right-click recents menu on the Pages icon sure would boost my productivity, so any help certainly will be appeciated.
    -Nick

I did this every few minutes all evening and again this morning ,,,,
"Sometimes it takes a few moments to happen, sometimes you have to open then quit the app a few times, but the list does goe away as do the thumbnail Icons from the Right-Click > Show Recents in The Dock Icon."
.... and Pages' right-click's recents menu remained filled with non-existant files. Same problem in Numbers and Keynote.
Did a Restart and the problem magically disappeared .... problem RESOLVED!
    -Nick T.
note: This may have been the first reboot since installing Mountain Lion two or three days ago.

  • Open Recent list clears on restart

The "Open Recent" list in InDesign is cleared each time I restart. I'm running CS6, OS 10.7.5. I am current on updates. AI and PS's lists work fine as well as the Finder's recent files list. Thoughts?

Check  your Edit>Preferences and under File Handling make sure you have a figure set in the
Number of Recent Items to Display

  • Clear Recent Files List from Splash Screen

Hello - I can't see a method of removing the recently used files from being referenced in the DW CC splash screen. How do I clear the list?
    Thanks

Be careful anytime using Regedit and editing the Registry...
If you are using Windows this method should work-
--- this method works for CS6, not sure about (sigh) 'Creative Cloud' ---
    Close Dreamweaver
Press & Hold the Windows key on keyboard>
Type in regedit... click run - click ok when admin. dialog opens>
    Folders on left, click HKEY_CURRENT_USER>
    than click Software>
    than click Adobe>
    than click Dreamweaver CS6>
...scroll until you see the folder 'Recent File List'
    than click Recent File List>
    Again BE CAREFUL!!
Leave the first key which should be (Default), the rest which have names File1, File2, File3, etc., right click and select delete (you can also click and drag to highlight all the ones you want to delete, agree.
    Exit Registry - start Dreamweaver!

  • "Clear Recent History..." wipes cookies and! the cookies exceptions list although the cookies box is not ticked

Clicking "Clear Recent History..." wipes all cookies and even worse the cookies exceptions list although the cookies box is not ticked.
Problem persist across restarts of Firefox and reboots of the OS.

The exceptions are part of the "Site Preferences".
Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the 'Cookies' and the 'Site Preferences'.
You need an allow exception for cookies that you want to keep.

  • Can I remove a SPECIFIC file from the "Recents" list?

As far as I can see, Adobe Reader for Android has only the option of clearing ALL the files in the "Recents" list. It doesn't have the option of removing a specific file from the "Recents" list.
Maybe I'm just missing the option I'm talking about or Adobe Reader doesn't really have that feature.
Sensible answers to my question will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi iSTULIN
I assume you can delete the complete list, not the single file ...
Please check the below link : http://blogs.adobe.com/readermobile/2011/09/09/faqs-for-adobe-reader-on-android/

  • Can someone please help me figure out how to "clear" recent email addresses used in Mail?

Can someone please help me figure out how to “clear” recent email addresses used in Mail?  For example, as I begin typing a name/email address in the “To:” field, Mail begins suggesting addresses that I’ve previously used.  I don’t want any suggestions unless they are in my contacts.
Another example:  When using MS Outlook, it will also remember and suggest email accounts previously used, but I can arrow down and delete an account from the list so it won’t automatically popup or suggest in the future.
I appreciate any guidance in this matter.

The iOS email app stores all email recipients in a list of previous recipients which cannot be turned off. The email address autofill feature when addressing an email pulls from contacts and from the list of previous recipients which can't be prevented. There is no option to clear the list of previous recipients - not at the present time anyway.
If you don't want any suggestions, select from contacts instead when addressing an email.

  • 11.4.0 How to CLEAR Recent Documents? Prior version had a delete option. Run 4.1.1 on a 64Gb Excite tablet.  Thanks

I just updated my tablet to the new version.  I find no options to clear/delete Recent Documents. Where do I find that option? Or do they self de-solve in time?
    Thanks

This is Senko from earlier in the thread something went wrong somewhere and after a few attempts to retrieve a lost password and email to that aodbreader-android address (failed every time) I gave up and made a new account.
I use a large amount of manuals and pdfs in my work and will often open 10+ different ones a day. Previously I could regularly clear recent documents so I only had the ones I was using at the time in recent documents but I had the original I could reopen if needed.
With the removal of this feature recent documents is utterly useless as I have dozens of "recent" documents making it almost impossible to find one specific one as its easy to scroll past the one I want. However deleting the original is no use because I may well need it again a few days later so I'd be constantly deleting and reinstalling files. Compared to the previous convenience of just clearing recent documents so I only actually have the ones relevant to what I'm doing at the time in recents but being able to retrieve another if it turns out to be useful.
Currently I don't bother to use recents at all but will just open documents go to the relevant folder and open the one I want since I have 20+ files in my recents list and don't want to permaenntly delete any of them. This feature is one I would greatly appreciate being restored as it makes my work life much easier.

  • Mini Bridge: how to clear recent files/folders?

    Hi all,
I am a new user of Photoshop CS5.1 Extended and have a question about Mini Bridge. My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, and I'm using the 64-bit version of Photoshop.
My question is: how do I clear the Recent Files and Recent Folders lists from the navigation pane of Mini Bridge?
In Bridge itself I have set the 'number of recent items' to zero. I can't see any equivalent setting in Mini Bridge.
The reason for asking is that prior to purchasing and installing the Production Premium Suite, I demoed the Web Premium Suite, including Fireworks. Even though Fireworks is now uninstalled and I can find no reference to it in the Windows Registry, Fireworks has its own submenu of recent files in Mini Bridge. I can't figure out where this information is stored.
    Any ideas? Thanks.

Ok, I just figured this out.
In Bridge (not Mini Bridge), it's the Reveal Recent toolbar icon, then "Clear Recent Files" and/or "Clear Recent Folders".
This is a bit counter-intuitive, considering that "number of recent items to display" in Bridge was already set to zero, but hey ho.
Just thought I'd post this in case anyone else finds the thread and is curious.

  • How do I clear recently used profile photos?

How do I clear recently used profile photos?

You only remove bookmarks if you delete bookmarks in a smart folder. If you delete that folder then you delete the smart bookmark and not the bookmarks in the list. A smart bookmark is a query and the result of the query is shown as the content of such a folder. A long as such a gives a result then you see content in the folder, so the only way not to see those bookmarks is to remove the smart bookmark.
