Clear recent search history in google search bar

Would someone know how to clear the recent search history in the Google search bar? There is no option for clearing the recent search, I think that was eliminated. I cleared the cache, in Safari, but that doesn't clear the google search bar. Is there an option? TIA.

You can clear the search bar history if you right-click the search bar text area: Clear Search History 
You can also use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear "Form & Search History"

Lost "clear recent searches" with 4.0.3

The "clear recent searches" option in the drop-down Google search box menu is gone since I updated to 4.0.3. What gives? I use this all the time.

The utility application Onyx has an option to clear recent browser searches. Under the Cleaning header, at least it is for the Tiger version. I don't have Leopard otherwise I'd check the Leopard-compatible version myself to see if the option is the same. It's worth a try, until the much-needed function is back where it belongs.
(Sigh. I still miss top-tabs, and Onyx can't help me with that. I think they are ingenious, and should at least be an option for people who want them. In case anyone from the Safari team is reading this- pretty please, bring back top-tabs.)

How can I clear the information in my search bar? For example, if a web-site such as;

is listed on my search-bar how can I delete this site from the search-bar?

If you mean the Google search bar on the Navigation Toolbar then you need to remove all that history.
You can right-click the textarea of that search bar and choose "Clear Search History".

Yes! I already turn off the autofill. But the list still come out when I typing in the search bar.

Why are search queries automatically cleared from search bar? How to turn this off?

Every time I search, the search bar query automatically clears itself 5-30 seconds later. I find this annoying and am just trying to determine if it is a FF feature or an add-on and how to turn it off.

Clear Search bar history

Hi everyone, Does anyone know how to clear the search bar history on BTYahoo.
If I click on the search box every search I've entered comes up underneath!

Tools- Internet Options - Advanced - Reset.
This resets to when Ie was first installed so I have to reload all my favourites.

Safari 4 clearing history in google bar

Hi, I'm new to these forums so forgive me if this has been asked
So I updated to Safari 4 today and I'm having trouble deleting history from the google bar in the top right of the screen, In my last version of safari underneath it said "clear recent searches" but it is not there now.
I have also tried
Safari>Preferences>Autofill>Other forms>edit>remove all.
and this does not help with the google problem
I do not want to reset safari as it is only the history in my google bar i want to erase.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

As ~Bee says, apparently there is no checkbox to just clear the Google searches. So if you want to clear those, you will also have to clear your History before you quit, since that will clear the searches.
The only other alternative would be if there's a preference for it in the com.apple.Safari.plist file; if so, you could delete that entry and Lock the file to prevent those searches from being saved.

Recent searches will not clear from the search box in Safari

Hi,
I've been trying to get my recent searches to clear in Safari from the search box at the right corner of the browsing window. So far, I have tried the following:
1. "Clear recent searches" in the menu that appears when you click on the magnifying glass.
2. Changing my preferences not to auto fill other forms (after deleting everything that was already listed as auto-fill).
3. Deleting Google cookies (since I use the Google search in that search box).
4. Clearing the history.
5. Emptying the cache.
6. Resetting Safari entirely.
7. Throwing .plist files for Google and Safari into the trash (and restarting after all of these).
8. Completely dumping all Safari files and the application in the trash and then reinstalling Safari.
And yet my first searches from a year and a half ago are still showing up in recent searches. It won't get rid of the initial ones even if it does delete any recent searches from the past few weeks--they just get replaced with whatever I searched when I first got the computer.
Any suggestions? I'm about ready to trash Safari entirely and just go with other browsers exclusively.

Highlight the entry in URL / Google search field and press delete key.
Magnifying glass icon should appear.
Click it and select "Clear recent searches".

First off, you CANNOT set recent documents to zero. The absolute minimum it will accept is 1. And on my MacMini, (I just checked it to be 100% sure) I opened seven documents with Recent Docs set to 10 - they were ALL listed. I set it to 1 and all but the most recent cleared. I then closed Reader and reopened it. The list was 1 item. I reset Recent Docs to 10 and there was still only 1 item in the list.

I have cleared my browser history and deleted cookies, but the google searchbar still contains suggestion for my previous searches. How do I delete this history as well?

The google search bar still retains search history despite my having deleted my browser history.

In my subject fields in Gmail, I want to clear all memory like all history of subjects , not from the search bar.

In Gmail, in the subject bar, I need to delete all prior subjects. Also, delete from the Google search bar. Right click does NOT show clear history.

Entries in the location bar drop down list with a yellow (blue on Mac) star at the right end are bookmarks. 
You can remove such a bookmarked item that shows in the list if you open that url in a tab and click the yellow star in the location bar. 
This will open the Edit This Bookmark dialog and you can click the Remove button to remove the bookmark if you want to remove such a bookmarked entry.
