Clear screen protector under Otterbox Defender?

I have an Otterbox Defender for my IPad (4th Gen) with an additional anti-glare screen protector underneath the Otterbox one, but the ant-glare is ruining the retina display. Does anyone who have an Otterbox have a clear screen protector under? If so, does it create watermarks? Thanks in advance!

I have an Otterbox Defender Case on my iPad 3 with a retina display. There is absolutely no reason to use a screen protector on the iPad itself, because the Defender has one built in. When my iPad is asleep and the screen is black, I can see the "watermarks" if I look at the iPad on an angle. I see no "watermarks" at all otherwise.
Surely you cannot expect to have the same retina clarity if you use a screen protector, but my screen is still very clear and crisp even with the built in screen protector. Take the screen protector off of the iPad screen. That's overkill and you are ruining the view of the display that way.
Just my two cents ....

  • Should I use a Screen Protector with Otterbox Defender or Griffin Survivor?

I bought both of these rugged cases and keep hearing that the actual cases can scratch the phones.  Should I use a screen protector on the phone face and back as well?  I assume that may not fit in the cases if I do that.  Anyone have any experience with these cases?

Do you have the shield on the front and back?  I read they do not fit in the Otterbox with both.  I would bet one side may fit.  I think if you use a thin one like the Verizon site has (PureGear Display Protectors) on the front I bet it will fit.  I have the Survivor case and have not head a chance to try the shield with it.  I got the phone, and first threw it in that case.  I know what to get a shield on it if possible.  Please let me know if it fits.

  • Clear screen protector application - air bubble removal

I have bought many clear screen protectors and often have had issues trying to get the air bubbles out from the screen protectors. Sometimes, dust is underneath the protect and when I try to clean it out using the cloth included with the protector, it gets even more dust and then the protector becomes useless. Is there any recommendations on how to best avoid getting air bubbles underneath your screen protector?

I just received and installed the Incipio Feather case on my iPhone 4. I had it on my 3G and liked it as it is a very slim, unobtrusive case and is like a hard plastic core with a matte, slightly rubbery, velvety surface. I had installed Zagg first, but was displeased with the orange peel surface on the front. I left the Zagg on the back as I do feel it will offer good protection from the back and removed it from the front. The case fit with no problems. The incipio feather comes with 2 hard clear screen protectors with a hole for the front camera, and the front protectors are MUCH better than having the rubbery, lumpy Zagg on the front screen and don't require any liquid to apply. I was hoping I would get one crystal screen protector and one matte protector as I did when I used Power Support screens in the past, but they are both clear. The surface is smooth and nice. I don't have any loss of signal now when I hold the phone in my palm cupping the lower left side. I probably slightly prefer the matte power support screen as it is easier to keep clean, but power support is not shipping yet. If I had to do it over again I would skip the Zagg and just get the incipio. Just my 2 cents and thought I'd share my experience.

Sorry i'm being very Annoying to bother anyone here, i know you don't like it?

You know, it's ok to ask! If I was you, I'd try asking them at the Apple store or, if you got the iPad at the Verizon store, go there. It won't hurt to ask - just tell them you don't know how to do it and don't want to mess it up. It's a little difficult to do it right - I got that kind of thing for my Macbook Pro for the bottom where your hand rests and had a hard time putting it on. So, go ahead and ask. If they're too busy, read the instructions a couple of times and wait until you have plenty of time and are relaxed and try it yourself.
I know you can do it if necessary!

  • Has anyone removed the screen protector from Otterbox?

I have the Otterbox on top of Apple's anti-glare screen protector as suggested in this forum. I'm having way too much trouble getting a response out of buttons on the edge of the screen or in the corners. I touch and touch, even press hard but no response. Even getting the phone to snap a picture is near impossible. I have no problems when I remove the Otterbox case, so I know it isn't a screen issue. I love the feel and protection afforded by the Otterbox case and would like to use it. Has anyone removed the screen protector from their case, and if you have, can you comment on the subsequent performance of it? Of note, I use the Otterbox case because I have young kids who use the phone - we don't have a landline. In other words, it's not dust protection I'm looking for, but impact protection. I hate to tear up a $50 case if it won't function anymore.

I removed the screen protector that was part of the Otterbox case and it now works much better. Still have the Power Support anti-glare screen protector on it. Also removed the small cover over the camera lense and now my pictures are more clear. Finally, I removed the covers over the speakers and I can hear the speakerphone again. These mods made the case an A+ for me. A little less protection but much better functionality.

  • Best Crystal Clear screen protector ?

Im looking a really good screen protector that is clear and you cant not notice there is a protector on the screen and also PROTECTS it from scratches and stuff?

I have used the PowerSupport Crystal protectors for both my iPhones and iPads and love them both. Easy to use and clean with a plain cloth.

  • Clear coat update :D (recommended screen protector)

k guys so i had a thread earlier where i was ranting about my bumper peeling my screen protector off (i have clear coat) so i took it back to the mall i got it done..and they fixed it for free
and btw clearcoat now has a cut out for the front camera..but i think it doesnt look as good and that it used to look better when the screen protector went over the front camera..because now u can tell theres a screen protector there. so im letting it dry and will try again with my bumper.
but i definetely recommend clear coat screen protector because it feels so nice and u can get it replaced free.

I personally wouldn't give you 10 cents for a Zagg Invisible Shield.  It destroys the screen quality/graphics on your Ipad 2.  I bought one at Best Buy for $34.98 and I paid $14.99 for them to put it on.  They did an excellent job putting it on, but the first thing I noticed was how grainy the picture was...it had tiny pink, blue and yellow dots.  I was told this is what every "anti-glare" screen protector looks like.  I left it on there for 4-5 days and I just hated it....but since I spent $50 for it, I hated to take it off, but I couldn't stand how my screen looked. I took it off and my graphics are what they should be again!!! I have 2 desktop pc's, 2 laptops and an Iphone, so I certainly didn't need another internet device, The main reason I wanted an Ipad 2 because the graphics are phenomenal.  The other advantages like it being lighter and smaller and than a laptop were an added benefit for me.  Now I'm looking for a clear screen protector to put on my IPad.  I've never heard of the clear coat that wraps around the whole IPad.  I'm going to see if there's anyone around my area that's doing that!

  • IPad 2 Screen Protector vs. Clear Coat

I just bought an iPad 2 and purchased a leather case for it as well. I am looking for a screen protector. I was at Best Buy and noted all the protectors they have, much similiar to what's out there for the iPhone. Preferably, I'd like something I can have the store put on for me.
I was at the mall and came across a Clear Coat vendor. It's a clear protector that actually wraps the whole iPad for $30-40. And it has a lifetime warranty. It looks good and protects like any other protector. Does anyone have any experience with this product?
My main inquiries are does the coating decrease the touchpad sensitivity or the brightness/quality of the screen? And could it be taken off if down the road I wanted to replace it or get rid of it? The salesman says yes, they can even replace it if it gets too scratched up. I'm interested in this option, but also not sure if I should go with something easier to take off if I don't like.

  • Iphone 6 privacy screen protector

    Hello,
I've had my iPhone 6 for a week now and i have a clear screen protector on it since day one but i am always used to having a privacy screen protector on my iPhones. i have been looking a privacy screen protector for iPhone 6 but I couldn't find one. Can someone help me finding me one please and i would really appreciate your help and time.
    Thank you.

Your best bet is to contact the manufacturer of the privacy screen protector you have used before, and ask them when they will release one that will fit your new phone.

  • Screen protector for the zen sle

I am looking for a clear screen protector to fit the screen of my sleek as a temporary until i get a case. Does anyone know where i can find one that isn't to costly and works very well and fits snuggly with the screen of the zen sleek?

I am using the Photodon protector for the TX2. It's honestly a bit small. They will cut them to size. I found videos online and apparently the Photodon interfered the least as far as glare reducing screen protectors go. It does reduce the touch sensitivity some, but I've noticed very little difference after initial adjustment. I like to take my college assignments and reading to the park with the kids and the nice mirror screen does not do well for that, so I went for the glare reducing despite the bit of fuzziness that results. The display works quite nice in spite of it. The inking, which I thought was excellent before the protector, is actually even better. I think the minute amount of texture actually enhances pen action. My two cents. I'm ordering another custom fit to size presuming my replacement machine performs better than my initial. I'm having a ton of post errors. I think it's bios, honestly, but HP offered me a deal I'm having a hard time refusing...still very torn. I ordered this to my specs with nearly every upgrade included. The replacement would not have my fingerprint reader and I've been trying to go without it to determine whether I can live without it. Frankly, in tablet mode, it's a godsend, although it is not nearly as functional as my old Toshiba laptop's was...It would register far more websites and programs than the one included with the tm2...still, logging on from sleep in slate is miserable without it! I tried an app that lets you sign your name instead, but it doesn't seem to like Win 7 64 no matter what I do, including unpacking the MSI and manually placing files in folders.
Sorry, got off topic...but give Photodon a try.

  • Steinheil screen protectors

I got tired of waiting for Power Support to be released so I decided to try the Steinheil Ultra Crystal Clear screen protectors. I have to say they are great!. They are a bit softer than Power Support and hence a little tougher to get on straight and bubble free but the end result is pretty awesome. They really are crystal clear. What I like most about them is that they do not mess with the clarity of the Retina display as the cheapo films do. When the display is lit, you really can't tell it's there. The fit is good- lines up nice. There is no cut out for the front facing camera, but the pics we took to test this all look the same. They come packaged with a microfiber cloth and squeegee and cost $13.99 for a pack of 2. They also have a bunch of other types that might be interesting to check out such as Oleophobic anti oil, and full body protective sets. Maybe next time, but for now these will do fine.

Also have the sgp screen protector. Ultra clear crystal for the front and the carbon fiber one for the back. I must agree. These are ultra clear and are a perfect match. I don't have a cut out for the ff camera either. I can fit my bumper over the phone w/o worrying about lifting up the edges like on some of the other screen protectors that I have read about. All in all I think this may be the best one for the buck. Advice on ordering though. Priority shipping took just as long as the other option which I believe was express mail. If you can't wait the 3-5 days that shipping takes through their cheapest option just go with priority which is like 6 and change. I ordered mine first on a Monday through their fastest shipping method and then ordered my stepsons on a Wednesday through priority and both arrived on Friday. Go figure!!!

  • Any one try Perfect-Fit Screen Protectors?

Wondering if anyone has tried a "Perfect-Fit Technologies" HD/Clear screen protector on their iPhone 5? They claim to have a almost "fool-proof" application system. I have had rotten luck with screen protectors in general, so I'm just a little skeptical.

Are these PSP screen protectors like the peel off protector that comes on the Ipod? My case I ordered should be here next week, but I want to keep the peel off protector on, but it is getting ready to fall off. I really don't want my screen to get scratched.
Can these PSP screen protectors be bought anywhere, like Best Buy or Circuit City?

  • Z3 Front Glass - Digitizer or Screen Protector

    Good day!
We know that Xperia Z3 has this nice glass on the front (and back), my question is, is that already the phone digitizer or it's a built-in screen protector (since it looks like it's on top of the main screen)?
If it's the former then, in case it cracked by any means, could it be easily replaced? How much would it cost?
    Thanks for any response!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The z3 has a digitizer just like any other smartphone otherwise you'll need a mouse, as far as screen protector, under the digitizer it has an anti-shater film (ASF), you should apply a scratch resistant film on top of the screen.
The digitizer its glued to the lcd, you will have to buy the whole unit, lcd plus digitizer

  • Screen Protector Reccomendations

    Hi,
I plan on buying an iPad and am looking for a few recommendations for simple clear screen protector.
I am going to be buying either the Switcheasy Nude or the Incipio Feather case that both come with clear screen protectors but if there are any with great recommendations that are sold separately i will most likely get one.
I DO NOT want one with that spray on applicator stuff, id ideally like one of the static ones similar to the iphone ones that used to be sold in apple stores.
    Thanks

I ordered a matte screen protector from Clarivue directly from their website. Application is similar to Power Support with protective removable plastic sheets on the front and back of the protector, which makes it more rigid and therefore easier to apply. I am very happy with this protector since it dramatically reduces glare and fingerprints, and does not affect sensitivity of the touch screen. It does slightly reduce screen clarity, but I got used to it after about a week.
Although i really like the Invisible Shield on my iPod Touch, the Clarivue and Power Support protectors are much easier to apply on the large iPad screen and the matte versions cut down on more glare and fingerprints.
