Clear Search bar history

Hi everyone, Does anyone know how to clear the search bar history on BTYahoo.
If I click on the search box every search I've entered comes up underneath!

However I've done it!
Tools- Internet Options - Advanced - Reset.
This resets to when Ie was first installed so I have to reload all my favourites.
I might be back later with an e-mail problem!!

Don't right-click on the icon, right-click on the search box, this way you can "Clear Search History".

How do i clear address bar history?

I tried Ctrl+Shift+Delete and selected all the options and set the time range to everything but it still auto fills the address bar when i type.

Use these steps to remove saved (form) data from a drop-down list:
#click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop-down list
#highlight an entry in the drop-down list with the mouse or cursor Down key do not click the mouse or press the Enter key
#press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to delete the highlighted entry

I've seen this question asked but no solution was forthcoming...
Only recently I noticed that the Awesome Bar History will not clear. I habitually use the ‘Clear Private Data’ option. However, the All Pages list will not delete. Any insight?

Clearing search field history.....?

Hello.
When I type in the google search field, many other searches come up automatically as I type. I guess there's a history of previous searches....?
Is it an auto fill thing?
Or a cache thing?
Anyway, the list of previous searches has gotten quite huge, and I'm wondering how I can clear the memory so that when I type in the search field, it won't try and guess what I'm searching, and it won't complete my text.

Hi Alex,
If you're referring to the actual text search box on the Google homepage (rather than the Google search box on the Safari menu bar) then you can clear that out via the AutoFill preferences.
Safari preferences -> AutoFill -> Other forms -> (Edit...)

Safari search bar history

In the new Safari, when I begin to type a search query, the box below the search field suggests websites, bookmarks, and previous history. I really do not want people to see my previous history when they start to type a search query. There doesn't seem to be a way to prevent this without being in private browsing.
Does anyone have any tips?

Are you referring to the new colors of iOS 7? If that's the case then there is no way to change it.
To clear your History:
1 Tap the Bookmark icon (the one next to the cloud and + icons.
2 Tap Bookmarks > Select History
3 Hit Clear (Notice the Clear icon at the bottom).

In my subject fields in Gmail, I want to clear all memory like all history of subjects , not from the search bar.

In Gmail, in the subject bar, I need to delete all prior subjects. Also, delete from the Google search bar. Right click does NOT show clear history.

Entries in the location bar drop down list with a yellow (blue on Mac) star at the right end are bookmarks. 
You can remove such a bookmarked item that shows in the list if you open that url in a tab and click the yellow star in the location bar. 
This will open the Edit This Bookmark dialog and you can click the Remove button to remove the bookmark if you want to remove such a bookmarked entry.

You can clear the search bar history if you right-click the search bar text area: Clear Search History 
You can also use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear "Form & Search History"

Resetting Safari doesn't do anything to reset the Address Search.
The Reset is not designed to clear the URL prompts. As I mentioned, these prompts are fed from a number of sources. Short of eliminating your bookmarks, history etc. the prompts are here to stay. Clearing your history and cache ought to eliminate those prompts not associated with existing bookmarks, but that's only temporary. Also, there may be other sources feeding the prompts.
Space bar is by far the easiest (although not very convenient) way to avoid seeing the prompts.

Can't clear location bar deleting only works temporarily privacy setting changes have no effect either

I have tried to clear location bar by deleting but items reappear when I hit the down arrow again. Changing privacy location bar setting to Nothing does not effect the drop downs, they are still there, clearing history doesn't remove them either. Using Firefox 3.6.13

Clear recent search history in google search bar

Would someone know how to clear the recent search history in the Google search bar? There is no option for clearing the recent search, I think that was eliminated. I cleared the cache, in Safari, but that doesn't clear the google search bar. Is there an option? TIA.

How can I clear the information in my search bar? For example, if a web-site such as;
www.google.com
is listed on my search-bar how can I delete this site from the search-bar?

If you mean the Google search bar on the Navigation Toolbar then you need to remove all that history.
You can right-click the textarea of that search bar and choose "Clear Search History".

Actually, the only "solution" would be for Apple to revert to the option to clear the search results from the Google search bar, which was in Safari 3.x.x. Since we have no idea whether or not they will in a future release, the two solutions I gave you will stop it from being written at all.
There is an entry for that in the Safari .plist file, but unless you know what you're looking for and have an editor to read display the file in text format, you can't get rid of that; even if you did, you'd still need to Lock the file to prevent it from being written back.
Locking your History file will also stop the History from being stored.
Those are the only options we have, so take your pick.
