i would like to clear my address book, any sync info held on my computer and resync with my Google contacts. how do i do this?
at the moment although Google has no duplicates, my address book is creating them... I'm assuming my sync brain is still full of info and old syncs...

Sure. You'll just want to have her have her own apple ID unless you don't care if she has access to your content.
To wipe the memory, go to settings, general and reset and there's an option to wipe out everything. THen hook it back up to itunes and, when the prompt comes up, select to set up as new iPad. (If you choose restore you'll just undo the wipe)
Get her her own Apple ID and she can access/download her own apps. If you're worried about her wrecking havoc on your credit card, you may need to use your CC to set it up but then delete it from her apple ID and get her an iTUnes gift card. She can still download but it gives her a strict budget.
If you don't care if she has access to your info, downloads and apps, you can use the same apple ID for both devices, but you'll be back in the situation of her having access to your credit card info in the app store, unless you make your account a gift card only one.

No you don't.
Mac's auto-defragment by writing 2GB+ sized files and smaller to one space on the drive, so you really don't need to worry about it.
If your going to parititon your drive or need a large space of free space, then Carbon Copy Cloning the entire OS x parittion to a external drive, option booting off of it and then erasing and reverse cloning is the approved method of defragmenting and freeing up disk space, rahter than using defragmentaiton software that can cause issues and make the machine inoperatible.

If you need steps to *cough* clean your Mac of caches and whatnot less your kid/wife/mother/girlfriend/boss, see's it then the steps are as follows.
1: Clean/clear your browser caches first, delete your history etc. from within the program itself, delete any files on the machine by dragging to Trash and emtpy Trash (secure erase not needed if you follow the steps later)
2: Download CCleaner for the Mac and run that
3: Download OnyX for the Mac and run all the cleaning and maintainece, reboot at the end.
4: For scrubbing hard drives of traces (deleted files), use Apple's Disk Utility > Erase Free Space option: Zero (or 7x if you need military/foresic level type deletion, but it takes overnight to complete)

Unfortunately not. No groups and any Mobile Me account here not even many contacts (436) and any duplicates except in Ical after having restored my iphone 4 times. Something strange too, 2 weeks ago, Isync was running while I'm not registered on MM nor Icloud (turned off on my iphone) . Maybe a conflict between Outlook, Addressbook, Itunes and Isync on SL....I'm going crasy with this issue It reminds me of Windows ! Thx anyway, I'm gooing to contact apple in the following days.

Sure, you can simply set the parameter id to a blank field. For example.
data: vbeln type vbak-vbeln.
vbeln = space.
set parameter id 'AUN' field vbeln.

Clear printer memory

I have a Deskjet 4480 which is great but I cannot figure out how to clear the memory. There has to be a simple way. It's so frustrating when the printer goes on printing stuff that I don't want anymore.

For the Deskjet 970 (and perhaps the Deskjet 4480?) there is a cancel button on the printer (the X button). Pressing this will immediately cancel printing, although the job will continue spooling to the printer. The reason turning the printer off and back on does not clear the issue is that the document is held in the computer's queue and will be resent when the printer is turned back on.

how do I clear the memory according to operations with Images?

All you can do is set objects to null and call System.gc() to request a garbage collection.
This just frees up memory on the heap - maybe you need a bigger heap....
Have a look at a tool like perfAnal (Its on Suns site).

Videos missing from iPhoto after prompted to clear from memory card

I just imported a couple of videos from my GoPro camera into iPhoto. After the videos were imported, I created an album. Once the videos finished importing I was prompted on screen to erase the video's from the memory card and that the import was complete. I did erase them. I then imported more pictures and videos from my regular camera into iPhoto and also following the prompt to erase the memory card post import. The pics/video from the regular camera are there, but my GoPro videos are not. I cleared the memory card so I can't re-import them. It seems they have to be on the computer somewhere since it said "Import complete, Erase Memory Card". Are they still on here somewhere or gone forever?

Create a smart album with the criteria
and check there to see if you can find the missing videos. If not then you'll need a file recovery app like PhotoRescue to try too recover the files from the memory card. There are other similar apps that can do the job. Go to MacUpdate.com and search for photo recovery. Most have a demo mode to show you if you can recover the file before you have to purchase it.
Never let iPhoto or other import app delete the files form the memory card. It's best to make sure the download was successful and that all files are viewable/playable before deleting from the menory card.d When memory cards are involved it's best to let the camera reformat the card than let the app or the Mac do the deleting/reformatting.

How to clear cache memory

Hi again! Does anyone has the source code in J2ME for clearing cache memory? My application is consuming larger memory in long run and I need to clear the cache memory manually else my application will be 'hanged'. Please advise.
